Chapter 3

Raven Rock – Tirdas 25 Last Seed of 202 Fourth Age

Asia was cooking lunch for the day. It had already been six days since she had started living with Edzard. She would be lying if she said it hadn't been the happiest and most peaceful six days she'd had in a long time.

She had learned a lot about Edzard these days. The first thing was that they were both fourteen years old. The second thing was that his canines were slightly larger than a normal human. The third thing was that he was a part-time blacksmith. The fourth thing was that he was very good at cooking, but his real specialty was baked goods like cakes and breads. The fifth thing was that he was a bibliophile, that is, he loved books.

"Oh, the stew is ready." Asia said as she approached the kitchen. Since she did not want to feel that she was living off Edzard, she had decided to help with the housework. So, she had decided to take care of meals and cleaning, although Edzard also helped clean.

She had been in a real predicament. This is because she knew how to cook in modern kitchens, but in this world, there are no thermometers or gas ovens. Everything here was cooked with firewood in iron pots. She had burned the food several times, but she had not given up. After three days, she was finally able to cook properly in a wood stove.

Seeing that the food was already cooked, she served it on two plates. After that, she put them on the table. Taking off her apron, she left the kitchen and headed for the armory. As she approached the sound of steel striking steel was heard.

"Edzard, lunch is ready." Asia said as she opened the door.

Edzard was just finishing hammering on the blade of a sword when he heard Asia tell him that the food was ready.

"Okay, I'm coming. Wait for me to temper this sword ". Edzard said as he approached a barrel filled with a tar-like-looking substance.

Asia watched as Edzard plunged the red-hot blade into the barrel. A few seconds later, Edzard pulled out the blade and gave it a quick look.

"Well, the temper is perfect." Edzard said with a smile as he put the blade down on a table. On that table were several more blades. There would be a total of seven blades.

Edzard began to remove his blacksmith's apron. When he did, he was left alone with his shirt. When he was about to leave the room, he was stopped by one arm.

"Asia?"

"Are you really going to eat dressed like this?" Asia asked as she pouted.

"Of course. I'm hungry." Edzard replied.

"No. Wash yourself first. You stink." Asia said as she wrinkled her nose.

Edzard rolled his eyes. He didn't understand why he should do that. Asia always said things like that. She made him wash his hands before eating, she also didn't let him eat until he was properly cleaned. Sighing, he headed for a barrel of water. Taking him shirt off, he began to wash him torso, arms, and face.

Asia was looking at Edzard's half-naked body. She already knew that Edzard had a toned body, what really caught her attention were the scars that he had both on his back and on his chest. These scars ranged from claw marks to what looked like small dots and cuts of various sizes. She had gasped in surprise when she first saw them.

After finishing washing, Edzard was about to put on the same shirt he had on before, but before he did, a shirt appeared in front of him. Looking, he saw that Asia was the one who was giving him the shirt.

"Thanks". Edzard said as he took the shirt and started to put it on.

Asia only smiled in response.

Now changing and clean, Edzard followed Asia into the kitchen. While there, he saw that the lunch was boar stew with grilled leeks and potatoes. Sitting down, they began to chat while they ate.

"So what are your plans for today?" Edzard asked.

"Umm. Cindiri has invited me to drink tea with her." Asia replied.

Asia had spent enough time with Cindiri. Literally, almost every day they had chatted while drinking tea.

"And you, what will you do the rest of the day?"

"First, finish those swords. Then I'll go train for a bit with the guards. In the evening I may go to drink at the tavern." Edzard replied.

"Who commissioned those swords from you?" asked Asia.

"Nobody, they are a commission that they have made to Glover Mallory. He has asked me to help him because he has a lot of workload."

Asia nodded and continued eating her lunch.

When they finished eating, Edzard decided to wash the dishes while Asia went to the bathroom to prepare for her departure with Cindiri. When Edzard finished washing the dishes, he went to the armory to finish the swords.

When he finished making the swords, he placed them all in their sheaths and tied them together. He then she went into him room and put on leather armor. Taking the package he headed to the main entrance where Asia was waiting for him.

They both left the house and headed to the market. Once at the market, Edzard handed over the weapons package to Glover. He then escorted Asia to the Morvayn manor. There they said goodbye.

"Asia, don't forget to pack your bags, as we are traveling to Skyrim tomorrow." Edzard said.

Asia nodded and started walking towards the entrance of the mansion. When she was about to enter, she turned and spoke. "Good luck in your training."

Edzard nodded and headed toward the barracks. It was time to stretch the muscles and try to at least not get bored of hitting the guards.

The interior of the inn the Netch of the Arcades was filled with smoke and sounds of different conversations. In the middle of this room at a table were two people chatting. The first was Edzard and the other was an old man of the imperial race, who was dressed in a green robe, with a white shirt underneath. The robe was bare-chested, with a few X-pattern laces to keep it closed. He wore white pants, had a brown belt which he wore over his tunic, in addition to having brown boots. The old man had a bald head with a few silvery locks, as well as a large mustache.

"So Edzard, are you leaving tomorrow?" Crescio Cerelio asked.

"Yes, I have neglected many of my obligations." Edzard replied as he looked at his bottle of mead.

"What do you plan to do with the girl who lives with you?"

"She is coming with me to Skyrim."

"I see. You know, at first, I didn't believe that you saved her." Crescio said and then took a drink of sujamma.

"Seriously. What did you think I had done? What had kidnapped her?" Edzard asked jokingly.

Crescio didn't answer and just took another gulp of his drink.

"Did you really think that I had done that?"

"The truth is that I thought so. But then I remembered that you are not that kind of person."

Edzard rolled his eyes. But before he could say anything else, his drink was thrown out by a person who had approached him.

"Haaa ... What do you want Mogrul?" Edzard sighed.

Mogrul is a green-skinned Orc with brown hair. Its eyes are golden in color and it has large lower fangs, so much so that they protrude from its mouth. He wears a long-sleeved green tunic with gold accents. Over the tunic he wears a brown vest with gold trim. Also, he wears white pants and brown boots.

"You know what I want. When will you pay your debt? " Mogrul demanded.

Edzard sighed again. This had been going on for a few weeks. It all started when Neloth had asked him to find a new butler. The only one who had accepted the offer had been Drovas Relvi. The Dunmer had accepted the offer only to not pay the money he owed Mogrul. Since that day, the Orc had been pestering him to pay off Drovas' debt.

"I already told you. I'm not going to pay you any Septim, go and collect the debt from Drovas." Edzard replied.,

Mogrul grunted. "You know that elf is already out of bounds thanks to you. So he pays his debt or else… "

"Ah… Seriously Mogrul. This game has already tired me." Edzard said as he got up.

Edzard looked Mogrul in the eye. While he was at it, he saw how the mercenary who served Mogrul was slowly moving his hand to his greatsword.

"Tell your pet not to do anything stupid." Edzard said.

Mogrul raised his hand, that made the Dunmer pull his hand away from his greatsword.

"Let's get things straight, Mogrul. Your debt to Drovas does not interest me. If you want to charge someone, charge Neloth. Or, are you a coward who only charges the weak? " Edzard said with a mocking smile on his face.

Mogrul grunted. "We'll see how long that smile lasts."

Edzard reached into his pocket and pulled out several letters. Extending his hand, he handed the letters to Mogrul. Moving closer to his ear, he whispered to him. "You should send better bullies, those didn't even serve as a warm-up."

"By the way, one more thing. The Councilor has given me carte blanche to kill you if you continue to bother."

When he heard that, Mogrul turned as white as chalk. His body began to tremble with fear. Stammering, he backed away from Edzard.

When Edzard saw that Mogrul and his lapdog had left the tavern, he sat down again.

"Hahaha. By the eight. That Orc's face was cool. It looked like he was going to shit at any moment."

Edzard just looked at Crescio and sighed, he didn't like making threats, but Mogrul had earned that threat. He then he called the waitress and asked her to bring him another bottle of mead.

"Are you not worried about me going after Asia?" Crescio asked.

Edzard shook his head.

"Why?"

"The idiot is a coward. Besides that he hardly has any bullies anymore. He knows that if he sends them against Asia, I will end up killing him." Edzard said, to then receive the bottle of mead from the waitress's hands.

Crescio nodded. "You know, you've gotten very overprotective with her. That's very good."

Edzard raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Because is good?"

"That girl will need all the protection you can give her. Since she shows that she doesn't know how to fight."

Edzard didn't know why Crescio was mentioning that. But then he remembered. It was possible that Asia was in danger thanks to him enemies. After all, the Thalmor wanted him dead, and some rival in the Jarl courts might try to undermine him.

"I see you have noticed."

Edzard nodded in response.

"And what do you plan to do?" Crescio asked and then took a sip of his drink.

"I will protect her. And if someone wants to harm her, they will have to get past me first. " Edzard's voice had grown so cold that the entire tavern was completely silent.

Crescio just sat there, then began to feel pity for the poor soul that made the northern dragon enraged.

They both continued chatting late into the night. After that, each one retired to their respective home.

Sea of Ghosts - Middas 26 of Last Seed of 202 of the Fourth era

Secunda and Masser were high in the sky as the Northern Maiden plowed through the waters of the Sea of Ghosts towards the port of the city of Windhelm in Skyrim. The Northern Maiden was a ship with a single sail, measuring twenty meters long, seven meters wide and was filled with merchandise that was transported from Solstheim to Windhelm, more precisely to the office of the company of the eastern empire. The ship's captain was the Nord Gjalund Salt-Sage. The ship had sailed that same day from the port of Raven Rock carrying merchandise, carrying Edzard and Asia as the only passengers.

Inside the ship, in one room were Edzard and Asia. Edzard was reading one of the Falmer books that he had obtained from the forgotten vale.

"Edzard. How long until we get to Skyrim?"

"Umm. We will arrive tomorrow morning." Edzard answered stopping reading his book. "Are you bored?"

"No. It's just the first time I've traveled on a ship like this."

Edzard raised an eyebrow. "How are the ships of your world?"

Asia was thoughtful for a few seconds and then began to tell him how little she knew about the ships on Earth.

"Wait. Do they have ships so big that they can literally hold a thousand people inside?" Edzard asked totally amazed.

"Yes, they are called aircraft carriers. They have that name because they carry airplanes there"

"Airplanes? What's that?"

"They are vehicles that are used to soar through the skies." Asia replied.

"Ah. They are airships." Edzard said.

"Waiting. Do you have airships here?"

Edzard nodded.

"Seriously. As they are?" asked Asia excitedly. Since it was the first thing that both worlds seemed to have in common.

Edzard took a piece of paper and with the help of a charcoal began to draw the shape of the airships. When he finished drawing he gave the paper to Asia.

"They look like airships." Asia said looking at the drawing.

"Airship?" Edzard asked.

Asia nodded and began to tell Edzard how little she knew about airplanes. They chatted late into the night. Finally, they both went to sleep.

Windhelm - Turdas 27 of Last Seed of 202 of the Fourth era

The Northern Maiden had docked in the port of Windhelm earlier that morning.

Asia gazed in amazement at the port and city of Windhelm. The docks were wide, but few in number. The city had high and thick walls and they were all gray.

Asia was wearing a dark blue dress, a pair of gloves, and leather boots. On her shoulders was a thick cloak of wolf skin. This cape had been a gift from Edzard. The cape was long and had a hood.

As Asia looked at the docks, Edzard walked over to her.

Edzard had decided to wear a long-sleeved black shirt with pants and boots of the same color; However, on this he was wearing armor made of leather, in addition to wearing reinforced leather gauntlets. A sword hung on the left side of his belt and a knife on the right side of it. And lastly, he was wearing a black hooded cape.

"Asia. Is everything ready? " Edzard said.

Asia nodded.

They both started walking towards the city. They hadn't taken many steps when approached by an Argonian.

The Argonians are a race of bipedal humanoid reptiles.

Asia stared at the Argonian in amazement. Edzard had already told her about the beast-man races, but she never expected to find one so soon.

This Argonian wore a green long-sleeved shirt, over which he wore a black vest, pants, and leather ankle boots, both brown. He carried a dagger and a purse on his belt.

"Ed, my friend. Good to see you." The Argonian greeted as he approached Edzard and extended a hand.

"Good to see you too, Scouts-Many-Marshes." Edzard answered the greeting with a smile as he took the Argonian's hand.

The Argonian had noticed the young human who was traveling with Edzard. It was the first time he had seen her. So he decided to talk to her.

"Hello young lady, I would like to know the name of who is traveling with my friend." Scouts-Many-Marshes spoke with a smile and a cheerful tone of voice.

"Hello, my name is Asia Argento. It's nice to meet a friend of Edzard's." Asia replied shyly. And it is that talking to a bipedal reptile was something new for her and she was afraid of insulting him involuntarily.

Marsh Scout looked at Asia and smiled. The girl seemed to be very friendly. Turning him head, he saw Edzard and started talking to him.

"So, Ed. What news do you bring?"

"Nothing important. Only I just stopped another madman who wanted to conquer Tamriel." Edzard replied.

Scouts-Many-Marshes was silent. That was nothing new, Edzard seemed like he had to save the world almost twice a year.

"Well, changing topic. Do you and the other Argonians have free time?"

The Argonian nodded in response, as he did so, his eyes began to shine. He liked it when his friend came to Windhelm. Since that meant there was extra work for him and the other Argonians. Work for which they would receive the equivalent of three times the pay of two months of their wages at the dock.

"Well, I need some packages delivered to Hjerim."

The Argonian nodded, but before he left he remembered something.

"Ed, Revyn Sadri wants to talk to you."

Edzard blinked. He hadn't spoken to the Dunmer in a long time.

'What does he want?' Edzard thought.

"Do you know what he wants?" Edzard asked.

"No, but he said that if he saw you coming he would tell you to meet him at his store."

Edzard nodded. Then he said goodbye to the Argonian. Taking Asia's hand, he started walking towards the city.

"Edzard, why did the Argonian call you Ed?" asked Asia.

"Well, it's my nickname. All my friends call me Ed." Edzard replied as he scratched his head.

"Edzard, can I call you Ed too?" Asia asked as she looked at the floor.

Edzard thought for a few seconds, but then he smiled. "Sure, there is no problem."

Asia smiled when Edzard told her that. "Thanks Ed."

They both smiled and then continued walking. Climbing some stairs, they entered the city. From the entrance they walked to the right.

"Ed, where are we headed?" asked Asia curiously. Since the neighborhood they were walking through was very different from the rest. This neighborhood had houses stacked on top of each other.

"We headed towards Sadri's Used Wares store. Apparently, the owner has been looking for me. "

They both walked for a long time. Upon arriving at the store, Asia realized that it was a building that she had seen better days. The ceiling seemed to be falling off and the walls were slightly cracked.

They went into the store and took off their cloaks, as it was warmer inside the establishment than outside. Asia could see that the store was spacious and that it had a counter, where you could see various merchandise from armor to shields and weapons.

"Hello, Sadri." Edzard greeted the Dunmer.

"Ed." Sadri replied.

Revyn Sadri is a Dunmer who, like his compatriots, has gray skin, red eyes and his hair is black, which was combed up. He was wearing a purple robe, with a black vest. He also wore black pants and brown boots with three gold buttons on one side of each boot. He had a belt, which had two small bags on the front.

Sadri saw Edzard, but then his gaze fell on Asia. Edzard seeing this, decided to introduce them.

"Sadri, this is Asia Argento." Asia nodded towards the Dunmer.

"Well, after this great presentation. Tell me why you wanted to talk to me."

"It's fine. But follow me, this must be discussed in private."

Edzard understood that this was very dangerous. Turning, he saw Asia.

"Asia, you can wait here. Although if you want you can go out and walk around, but don't go too far."

Asia nodded and watched as Edzard walked into the tent with the elf. When she lost sight of them, she decided to go out to see the surroundings. Taking the cloak from her and putting it back on, she left the tent.

Edzard was sitting across from Sadri. The Dunmer had given him a letter that had been sent by Malborn.

In the letter it said:

Edzard,

My friend, we must meet as soon as possible. There are many things I must tell you, but I cannot say them by letter. So I'll see you at the Frozen Hearth Inn on Hearthfire 17. Proceed with caution, the Thalmor are watching you.

M.

Edzard sighed as he got up from his chair. He walking he approached a wall and put the letter on one of the torches.

"Do you know what the letter said?" Edzard asked as he watched the letter turn to ashes.

"No. When Ambarys brought me the letter, I kept it in a secret compartment. I can't have anything to connect with Malborn."

"Is the situation that bad?" Edzard asked.

"Yes. The Thalmor have put a price on Malborn's head, plus they have spies around here." Sadri replied. "They're looking for any clues that will tell them where Malborn is."

"I see. Well then we will pretend this talk never existed."

Sadri nodded.

They both got up and went back to the store counter.

When Edzard arrived, he could see that Asia's cloak was missing. "So he went out to see the surroundings."

After thinking that, Edzard grabbed his cloak and was about to leave when the door to the store was opened.

"Ed! There are problems!" Scouts-Many-Marshes screamed out of breath.

" Scouts-Many-Marshes, what happened?" Edzard asked as he helped the Argonian into a chair.

"It's Asia, Rolff and Angrenor are hurting her."

The Argonian began to tell that he was returning from Hjirim when he saw Rolf arguing with Asia. He was about to intervene when he saw how Rolf picked up Asia, but decided to ask Edzard for help when he saw Angrenor arrive.

Edzard didn't finish listening to what the Argonian was saying. Without even caring about his cloak, he stormed off like the wind. As he ran, he used the clairvoyance spell to know where to go.

Asia felt her mind go off. This was because they were suffocating her.

She had left the store and been walking around until she saw some Dunmer children playing. Approaching her, the children looked at her and began to run in circles around her. In the end, the children had asked her to play with them. And she had accepted.

It was all laughter and fun until a child bumped into a Nord dressed in a light beige long-sleeved tunic, over which was a dark beige short-sleeved tunic. The tunic came down to his knees. His pants were the same color as his tunic, plus these pants had straps in an X pattern on the calves. He also wore brown ankle boots and a belt with a dagger. He had a brown fur cap on his head.

The Nord had begun to suffocate the Dunmer boy, and she had decided to intervene. And that was a fatal mistake. The Nord had left the boy, but he and his friend could not go far, as another Nord had them held. This other Nord was dressed in rags. And he had a shaved head, he didn't have a beard either, his eyes were brown.

She had started arguing with the man, but he had insulted her and then lifted her by the collar of her dress, the other Nord had told her that they must question her with a lewd tone. That made the Nord who was holding her begin to touch her lips. She responded by biting her attacker's finger. This caused him to begin to suffocate her.

Unconsciousness was about to claim Asia, when out of nowhere she felt that they no longer suffocated her. So she opened her eyes and what she saw surprised her. Edzard was holding the wrist of her attacker.

"I recommend that you leave the girl, Rolf." Edzard said tightening his grip on Rolf's arm.

Rolf began to grunt in pain. But he stopped when Edzard kneed him in the stomach. The blow caused Rolf to release Asia.

Asia did not fall to the ground, as she was caught by Edzard, who jumped away from Rolf.

Edzard put Asia down and then started walking towards Rolf. Looking closer, he saw Angrenor holding some Dunmer children. Holding out his hand, Edzard cast a lightning spell on Angrenor. The spell caused Angrenor to fly off and crash into a wall, rendering him unconscious. The Dunmer children wasted no time and ran over to Asia.

"You don't seem to learn Rolff." Edzard said already standing in front of Rolf. "I warned you to stop pestering Dunmer, but you don't seem to understand."

"Fuck you, you bloody brat!" Rolff growled as he got up. When he did, he quickly drew a knife and attempted to stab Edzard.

"Ed!" was the cry of Asia when she saw how they attacked his friend.

Edzard watched as the knife approached his body. So with a quick move he dodged the stab. When he saw Rolf walk past him, he reached out and grabbed his head and then proceeded to slam him against a wall. This rendered Rolf unconscious.

Edzard sighed when he saw the two unconscious bodies. Approaching Asia, he patted her head.

"You are very brave, Asia." Edzard said with a smile.

"Why do you say that?" asked Asia blushing.

"You decided to protect the children even knowing that you couldn't do much."

Asia looked away, as she was very embarrassed.

Edzard turned and saw the children. "Wait a while, then we'll go find her parents."

The children nodded.

Before anyone moved, several guards arrived.

"Legate, could you explain what happens here?" asked the captain who was in command of the patrol as he looked at the two idiots on the floor unconscious.

"I was shopping at Sadri's store when an Argonian arrived and mentioned that those two idiots were causing trouble again." Edzard replied as he pointed to the two Nords on the floor. "My plan was to settle the matter peacefully; however, they threatened a friend."

Edzard knew it was a crime to lie to a guard, but not that he could say he was reading a letter from a criminal wanted by the Thalmor.

The captain beckoned to his men, who began to take the two Nords away. The captain saluted and left the street.

Once alone, Edzard and Asia took the children to Sadri's store where they waited for him to call the children's parents. When the families were reunited, Edzard and Asia walked back to Hjerim.

Night had fallen on Windhelm, and Edzard was lying on his bed. The journey back from the gray quarter had been uneventful.

When they arrived at the mansion, Asia had asked him why Rolf had acted as he had. Sighing, he told her about the xenophobia that was in the city. He even went so far as to show her the reports of the victims of this violence. It is worth mentioning that poor Asia had vomited when she read the reports.

Apart from that, he also told her about the tensions that existed between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion.

After that, he had started to make dinner, but was interrupted. The person who had interrupted him had been the Jarl's housecarl. Who handed him a letter. Letter that was open on the table. In that letter he said:

Edzard,

I'm sorry to have to ask you this, but the situation is already very worrying. What happened today is just the straw that broke the camel's back, this can't go on any longer. The mission that I will assign you must be carried out as stealthily as possible. Unfortunately thanks to their contacts, both Rolf and Angrenor have been released. The mission that I will entrust you is very simple. Eliminate those two.

Edzard sighed and jumped up from the bed. He quickly changed his clothes. He now he was wearing a completely black set of clothes. He walking he approached the window of his room and then opened it. He quickly went out there and once he was out of the house, he drank an invisibility potion.

Jumping from the ceiling, he fell into an alley. Putting on his hood, he started walking towards the town square.

He walked for about an hour, until he found the first of his targets. Angrenor was warming himself with the fire of one of the torches that were near the Inn the Candlehearth Hall.

Walking stealthily, Edzard approached Angrenor. And with one swift movement he slit him throat. Without paying much attention, he left the place, leaving Angrenor to drown in his own blood.

From the square he walked through several alleys, this he did to lose a possible guard who followed him. While there seemed to have been no people around when he had murdered Angrenor, there was still some chance that he was wrong. Better safe than sorry. After all, it was easier to escape through alleys than to escape from Windhelm prison.

He walked for a while and finally came to a house. Approaching as discreetly as possible, he picked the lock and managed to enter the residence.

The residence had seen better days. This was because there were many spider webs and dust all over the place. Paying no attention to the dirt, he made him way to the master bedroom as stealthily as possible. Once he got to the room, he took him weapon and walked over to the bed. Raising him arm, he stabbed Rolf in the chest. This action caused the Nord to open his eyes, but when he tried to scream, Edzard slit his throat.

With that done, Edzard left the house, but not before placing many fire runes in various parts of the house. When he was at a safe distance, he blew up the runes. The explosion woke up much of the city. Edzard saw that guards were going from place to place trying to put out the fire, but it would take a long time to do so.

Edzard left the city and under the bridge he burned the clothes he had worn in the murder. Opening a hidden chest, he produced a tunic, pants and a pair of boots. He quickly dressed and entered the city as stealthily as he could.

Once back in his room, Edzard proceeded to write a letter to Malborn. In the letter he had decided to change the place of their meeting to the tomb of Ysgramor. It had been a bit difficult, but he had seen several Thalmor spies follow him as stealthily as they could. Something was going on and if his instincts didn't fail, it wasn't a good thing.

To those who have made it this far, Thanks for reading. The truth is that this is not the original chapter, since I have almost completely rewritten it. I hope this one has been better for me and that it does not have as many errors as the original. Because being honest, I don't know how to write much in English and I'm relying on Google translators and the dictionaries that come with office 2019.

Well, I apologize for any misspelling. Do not forget to leave a review if you liked the chapter or if there is something that needs to be improved. With nothing more to say, until the next chapter.
