Two weeks later
Dear Hermione,
It was wonderful to receive your letter. I'm glad to hear that Hogwarts hasn't changed too much, and that you're finding your way around as Head Girl. It's a title you more than deserve. I'm pleased to know Ginny is by your side—she always did have a knack for making everything more enjoyable.
The dragons have finally settled in, and things have calmed down a bit here. We received a Norwegian Ridgeback last week. She's a feisty one, but beautiful beyond measure. Watching her soar through the mountains is truly a sight to behold. You would love to see her; there's something magical about watching these creatures in their natural habitat.
I'm not surprised to hear about Draco Malfoy returning to Hogwarts and as Head Boy, no less. People can change, and maybe this is his chance to prove that. Still, keep your guard up, Hermione. It's good to hear that he's at least showing signs of remorse. Maybe it's a sign that things are changing for the better, even in small ways.
Your description of Hogwarts' restoration brought a smile to my face. I can vividly picture the Great Hall, the corridors, and even the Gryffindor common room. It's reassuring to know that some things remain constant, especially in such a tumultuous world.
As for the prank stories, you've certainly caught me out! Yes, Bill and I were quite the pranksters back in the day. We had a knack for it long before Fred and George took up the mantle. One of our most legendary pranks was when we bewitched all the cutlery in the Great Hall to dance during dinner. It was chaos, but McGonagall was laughing too hard to properly scold us. I'll save some of the more elaborate tales for when we can talk in person, though.
Your mention of the Twins and their joke shop made me realize how much I miss all of you. The reserve is amazing, but there's nothing quite like the company of family and friends. Maybe when things settle down here, I can make a trip back home and catch up with everyone.
Please give my best to Harry and Ron. Tell them I'm proud of all they've accomplished. And take care of yourself, Hermione. Being Head Girl is a big responsibility, but I know you're more than capable.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Charlie
Dear Charlie,
It's always a joy to read your letters, especially after a long day of classes and Head Girl duties. The thought of you working with dragons always brings a smile to my face. Your life sounds so adventurous and thrilling—I'm quite envious, to be honest!
I'm glad to hear that the new dragons have settled in, especially the Norwegian Ridgeback. They're known to be quite a handful, aren't they? I can only imagine the majesty of seeing one glide through the mountains. One day, I hope to witness it with my own eyes.
Your advice about Malfoy is wise, and I appreciate it. He seems different, more subdued. I suppose the events of last year left a lasting impact on all of us. I'll keep an eye on him, but I also want to give him the benefit of the doubt. People do change, and perhaps this is his opportunity to show us that.
Hogwarts truly feels like home again. The restoration has brought back so many memories, and it's comforting to walk through the halls and feel that familiar warmth. I often find myself wandering around, reminiscing about the good old days.
I would love to hear more about your pranking days. The image of you and Bill causing chaos is delightful. It's hard to imagine you two as troublemakers, but then again, Fred and George must have gotten their talent from somewhere! Speaking of which, their shop is thriving. It's wonderful to see them so happy and successful.
I've passed on your regards to Harry and Ron. Harry is busy with Auror training, and Ron is helping George with the shop. They both send their best and are thrilled to hear from you.
Take care, Charlie. Your letters mean a lot to me, and they always brighten my day. I eagerly await your next one.
Yours sincerely,
Hermione
