Something about that new blonde girl in school intrigued everyone.

They don't normally get blondes from where they are but once in a while, one would pop up and it was like instant sunshine. Besides Laxus but he's another story. He's more like thunder but even that is incredibly bright in a scary way.

But one day she popped up in middle school and everyone gravitated towards her like she was their sun and Natsu found himself at her side from the start. Showing her around, asking her to get lunch, poking fun at her during class, and always proving that he was a loyal friend.

He stuck up for her when she was being bullied. He stuck up for her in class when she was caught dozing off. He stuck up for her even when she's wrong just to prove that he was her rock.

It didn't take long for them to become best friends. They traveled all throughout schooling and even to adulthood as best buds, the unbreakable bond something many envied.

For some reason, it just clicked for them.

And none of them questioned why or how but it always seemed to put them in an awkward position.

"How hard is it to get a date around here?!" Lucy cried out, practically slamming her head on the table in front of her where Natsu and her other friend Gray sat. She had just joined them for brunch, coming back from the library when they had messaged and asked her to come by.

But if they knew she would be bitching about another missed date, they might have asked her not to come.

"It's been so long since I've gone out on a date and guys these days are just so useless! It's like I have to initiate something for them to even think about asking me out." She groaned out, whispering to the waitress as she came to take orders to bring her a nice strong mimosa. Once the waitress was out of sight, she let out another long sigh. "It sucks. You can't find anyone genuine and all they want is a good lay. I can't just go around and sleep with anyone!"

"That's men for ya," Gray snickered, sipping from his ice water as he leaned against the table across from her. "You try that new dating app?"

"Yes, all of them." She grumbled as Natsu began to rub her back in comfort. "It's been so long since I have had a one-night stand or anything of that sort. It's ridiculous! How long does a girl need to wait?"

"Is this really about love or is it about you releasing some stress?" Gray asked, a smirk on his lips as her cheeks tinted pink at the topic.

But with her frustration, she could hardly find the time to feel embarrassed as she groaned out, shaking her head back and forth while the waitress came back with her mimosa.

"I mean… it'd be nice to find the one but it'll also be nice to have someone to… mess around with. You know I can't just hop into bed with a stranger! At least take me on a date before implying intimacy!"

"You don't have to be best buds to fuck."

"It'd be nice to know someone and have a connection before hopping into bed." Lucy countered, snatching her flute off the table to bring it to her mouth.

"Yeah we're best friends but I would fuck if you asked."

Lucy stopped mid-way from her journey from the table to her lips with her glass, frozen, while Gray choked on his ice water across the table.

It felt like everything else was still going on around them but the three of them were frozen in time, two pairs of eyes slowly turning to look at the rosy-haired man who oh so nonchalantly leaned back against his chair and popped fries into his mouth. He blinked stupidly as he noticed the looks his friends were giving him and he quirked a brow. "What?"

"What?"

"What?" He echoed right back.

"What did you just say?" Lucy sputtered, eyes round and cheeks crimson as her best friend furrowed his brows even further, tilting his head.

"He said he'd fuck you if you asked." Gray responded for him and Lucy whirled her head to gawk at the smug looking one across the table.

"What?!"

Natsu could only continue to blink in confusion as he assessed the situation. "What? I'm confused."

Lucy could only slam her head to the table, steam pouring out of her ears as she felt that weird twisting of her guts rumble in her stomach. "Shut up, Natsu." She murmured and all she could hear was Gray's snickering.

"If you asked, I would, too, Lucy."

"Gray, shut up!"

"Did I say something wrong?" Natsu asked once more, looking for help between the laughing ink-haired man to the blushing blonde on the table who refused to even look at either one of them.

"Everyone, shut up! Conversation is over! Nobody is fucking no one!"

"Yeah, 'cause you didn't ask."

Lucy could only down her mimosa before she was storming off, her entire body red from embarrassment while the wild laughter of Gray and cries of confusion echoed behind her.

The craziest part was: she was thinking about it.
