In a former life, his name was Nolann. In a former life, he was a Jedi. In a former life, he had fought alongside allies unlike that of any other Jedi, his squad was not comprised of clones, but of mercenaries, bounty Hunters, vigilantes. Rahm Kota's former pupil spent seven days surviving the streets of Nar Shadaa, bruised, hungry, tired, lost and alone. He never found his master, he hadn't even heard if he was alive or dead, he just knew that he wasn't there.

It started out as a simple patrol mission. The Hutts had requested the Jedi's aid in securing Nar Shadaa's trade routes against a branch of the former Sith lord Darth Maul's crime syndicate, for weeks, they had been raiding medicinal spice vessels for their own use. Kota's private army arrived inboard a Republic frigate, alongside half a dozen V-19 Torrents piloted by clones, insisted upon by the supreme chancellor.

Words couldn't describe the throbbing pain he felt across the galaxy, he hadn't known it at the time, but thousands of his fellow Jedi were being massacred by their own men. By the time Master Kota had caught wind of it, it was already too late, he ordered a ship wide evacuation, his Duros padawan was to hide on Nar Shadaa alone.

"Nolann! Get in the pod!"

"Master, please! I don't want to go..."

"Do it, boy! That's an order!... I'll find you when the time is right."

That was the last time he ever saw his master. The only time he had ever seen him smile with sincerity. He never found him, of course. Nolann felt let down, betrayed, alone.

When the Grand Inquisitor had finally found him, he was already broken inside. A perfect candidate to be molded into an inquisitor.

In a past life, his name was Nolann. Now, Nolann was long dead to him. Now, he was the Fifteenth Brother, assigned with the task of tracking down a young Jedi, an infant, by other species stnadards, despite being more than twenty years old. Records showed that the former Jedi Barriss Offee had taken him, but she was already long gone.

Until today.

Clone Captain Nova stood at the holotable, patiently analysing every detail of the images sent to the Imperial Corvette Conviction. Many of the images were blurred, the figure in the pictures was clearly moving so fast that even advanced video capture equipment couldn't get a clear image. The skin tone was a dead giveaway, however. Pale yellow, a Mirianlan. It had to be her, it had to be Barriss Offee.

The Fifteenth Brother entered the bridge, his loyal purge trooper at his side. "Captain, report." He ordered bluntly.

Nova enlarged the hologram. "The image is less than ideal, Sir. But it's her. The photo is time stamped from one day ago. ISB spy networks haven't detected any ships leaving Kyshyyyk. But… It is a large planet, Sir. It is possible that she's already gone."

"Silence!" The inquisitor shouted across the table, causing Nova to flinch in response. "She is here! I can sense her presence." He then looked to a scrawny pale man sat at a nearby console. "Sergeant Reyes! What do you have on her file? Why would she come to this place?"

Reyes jumped at being addressed by name, he was clearly terrified of his superior. "U-um." He stuttered before gulping. "Kyshyyyk was the last battle that Jedi General Luminara took part in before Order Sixty-Six. It is possible that Offee is looking for her master."

Nolann then gave a smirk to the captain which made him uncomfortable before Nova finally nodded. "Aye, Sir. Preparing for descent."

"At last…" Fifteenth Brother whispered to himself as he slowly reached his hand towards the image of Barriss Offee. The past several weeks had been tiresome and stressful, with the impatience of the Grand Inquisitor and Lord Vader, he knew he had but one last chance to succeed in his mission, or it would mean death to them all for their failure.

The sound of snapping branches and crushed leaves echoed throughout the forest, the hunting party was gaining until they reached a hollow inside one of the planet's many great trees.

"Spread out! Find her!" The young acolyte barked, sending Captain Nova and his purge trooper to either side of the hollow, investigating every crevasse and cave system. A squad of four TK troopers accompanied them as they too began to investigate.

After a few minutes of searching, the squad regrouped in the center. "There's no sign of her, Sir. Maybe we could-" One of the troopers began to say before he was aggressively pushed into a tree, the sound of his spine snapping caused the other three men to tremble in fear.

"Do not bring me excuses! Bring me that Jedi!" He barked once again.

Before he could further chastise or kill the men under his command, Nolann's head shot up to the sound of branches snapping above them. He ignited his duel rotating red blade and took a defensive stance as a hooded figure fell through the trees, spinning as they did so with their blue lightsaber in hand, spiraling down and decapitating the three TK troopers.

Nolann smiled, revealing his sharpened Duros teeth. "Well, well, well. Barriss Offee. You've been a difficult woman to track, you know that?"

The figure pulled back their hood, proving the inquisitor to be right as Barriss took her surroundings into account, raising her blade into form III. "I'll have to try harder next time."

Captain Nova and the purge trooper slowly circled the young Jedi traitor, electro-melee weapons at the ready. Meanwhile, Nolann chuckled. "Oh, there won't be a next time, girl. But I'll tell you what, you tell me what I want to know, and I promise to make your death as quick as possible. Now, where is the child?" He growled as he crouched, preparing for an aggressive stance.

Barriss didn't flinch from her form. *He's somewhere safe. Somewhere that you'll never find him. Somewhere where even I don't know where he is." She smirked, knowing that this would further antagonise the inquisitor.

She was correct in her theory, as the Fifteenth Brother revealed his fangs in a mighty roar and launched forward, his spinning blade giving him a slight glide as he landed right before her, their weapons colliding. "Fine. Then I'll have to settle for your death as it is." He hissed as the sound of an electrostaff caught Barriss' attention. She leaned back instantly, causing Nolann to lean forward towards her as she then spun around on one leg, pushing him off to the side as she quickly brought her lightsaber up to block the Purge trooper's attack.

She then quickly turned her head to inspect the Duros as he hastily stumbled to his feet. Before he could turn around to face her, his attention was caught by the sound of blaster fire from Captain Nova. Barriss instinctively grabbed the Purge trooper by his waist and spun him around to block the incoming attack, Nova's blasts landing right into his back.

As Barriss tossed the body aside, a sharp yell from the inquisitor made her aware of his attack as she performed multiple backwards somersaults, evading the red blaster fire in the process. When she flipped back to the stump of the tree that Nolann had slammed the TK trooper into, she returned to her defensive stance, breathing heavily. "Give up yet?" She panted as she tried to intimidate her attackers.

This time, it was Nova who chuckled. "Hardly." He said calmly as he pulled a grenade from his belt and dropped it in the floor right in front of him and Nolann.

Barriss squinted her eyes as she tried to see the two in the shroud of smoke that emerged from the grenade. Suddenly, her eyes darted to the grappling cable firing up into the trees as Nova ascended with his blaster in one hand, grappling line in the other. As he fired a barrage of rounds towards her, Barriss deflected every single one, however this left her distracted from the Inquisitor who once again lunged forward. Barriss brought up her blade just in time, only to be pushed back by the brute force in his attack. She then darted around the hollow at incredible speed, using her blade to deflect the Captain's shots.

As she ran faster and faster in circles, deflecting blaster fire and landing hits on Nolann which were easily defended, the Inquisitor unleashed a powerful force push all around which caught the young former Jedi off her feet as she tumbled to the ground.

As she gathered her bearings, Barriss pushed herself up and reached out with the force to retrieve her lightsaber, only to have it snatched out from its original path and into the blade of Nolann. The young Inquisitor was breathing just as heavily as she was, exhausted from such a dizzying battle. "No more tricks." He almost wheezed.

As she watched Nova slowly defend from the high ground, she looked desperately around for any means of escape. Unfortunately, the only exit was the opening to the hollow. She then looked down at the body of the Pruge trooper sprawled out by the entrance, more specifically, his electrostaff.

As Nolann raised his blade for a final strike, he felt as if he owed it to the young girl for such an interesting fight. "Rest well in the light of the living force, Barriss Offee." He said almost as in in prayer.

Before he could land the final blow, Barriss reached her hand out past his legs, this immediately caught his attention as he turned to look behind him. "Wha-" He wondered before suddenly gasping. Nolann looked down at his stomach to see his own trooper's weapon buried into his body. "I…" He tried to speak, still in shock, he was unable to stop Barriss rushing past him, using the force to knock Captain Nova back, causing him to swing around the hollow on his grappling cable.

As the captain cut himself free, he quickly knelt down by his commander. "Sir!" He said in concern.

"What are you doing, you idiot? Stop her!" He tried to shout, but his speak was weak and broken as he pointed towards the exit. When Nova turned, he already knew that Barriss Offee was gone.

He already knew that he had no chance of apprehending her on his own, he took command of the situation and radioed to the Conviction. "Attention, this is Captain Nova! I need an extraction team ASAP. I have wounded. The Fifteenth Brother is down. I repeat, the Fifteenth Brother is down!"

Barriss climbed and climbed until she reached halfway up the Great tree, out of view from any Imperials who might stumble beneath her. She closed her eyes and meditated, focusing deep within to heal her wounds, taking in a deep breath to feel the force flow throughout her body. When she finally exhaled, she felt relieved.

A quiet sound of a crumpling leaves caught her attention as she instantly rose to her feet and reached to ignite her blade once more, but remembered that it was now gone. Stumbling through the tree branches was a man in white and blood red armour, upon closer inspection, it was clear that this man was a clone commando.

"Stay back!" She barked, too exhausted for another fight.

The commando was unarmed, he even raised his hands to show as much. "Please. I wish you no harm, little Jedi."

"Who are you?" She asked, this time with a calmer tone of voice.

The man removed his helmet to reveal a face that she had seen a thousand times, just not his. This clone was covered in scars across his head and face. "My designation is CC-…. My name is Sev… And I've been watching you ever since you got here. I have a feeling that we can help each other. " He said in a gruff, deep, yet calming voice.

"How so?" Barriss asked, carefully lowering her arms.

"Simple. I help you get off world. In return, you can tell me what's happened to my brothers."

After another day of exploring the galaxy, looking for a suitable world that wasn't under the Empire's control, Slick entered the cockpit of the Silver Lining medical frigate to relive Hound from pilot duty. Ever since they left Rex and Wolffe on Navaro, the five of them had been traveling with the goal of finding somewhere to call home. Despite being completely inboard with the plan, there was a small feeling at the back of Slick's mind that told him to look for more clones, to bring them on board and find a new home together.

Faun Shae and AZ were happy to accompany them on their adventure, it gave them amply time to look after Dogma and Hound, who still hadn't recovered from their inhibitor chips being removed. Dogma still had the mind of a child in an adults body, and Hound wouldn't stop talking in his strange accent, no one knows where or how he could have developed it.

Suddenly, Slick's thoughts were interrupted as Dogma stormed into the cockpit. "Slick! Slick!" He shouted with obvious excitement in his voice.

"What? What is it?" He chuckled, humouring his innocent minded brother.

"Oh! Um, well you see. I got kind of bored and started listening to the radio, but for some reason, the ship one doesn't work." Dogma said as he began what would ultimately be a long and convoluted story about his day that had no real ending. Slick and Hound had heard these stories a dozen times each, but it made Dogma happy that they listened to him.

"That's because we're off the grid, Dogma. We disabled the radios so that no one could track us." Slick then explained.

Dogma's eyes widened slightly upon realising what he meant. "Ohhhh, I see. Yes, that does make sense. But, you see, I was still bored and wanted to listen to the radio so I borrowed your small one from your room."

Slick raised an eyebrow at this. What could he be referring to? "My radio?..." His eyes suddenly widened in shock. He had to ask to be sure. "You mean the one on my armour?!" He asked, visibly stressed.

Dogma gave a carefree smile. "Yep! And, that's not even the best part. There's this radio station where this lady talks about you and how you went to prison. It sounded very interesting."

"What lady? Dogma, let me see that comm unit." He said politely bit firmly as he turned on his wrist comm.

"…rriss Offee… I am broadcast… pen phase one armo… annels… Slick… if you ca… ear me, I need your help. I'm stran… Kyshyyyk… end help."

Slick couldn't believe it. She was still alive. He spent weeks wondering if she was okay, he had plenty of time to reflect on what he said the last time they saw each other in Coruscant. He regretted leaving her behind, he regretted not helping her protect that baby. He was going to make up for that now.

"Hang on just a little longer, kid. I'm on my way." He replied.
