The Saiyan Devil
Chapter 12
"Hit, do you feel that? His energy just spiked considerably," Celeon said silently to his partner.
Hit nodded. "Yeah, it seems he just released a lot of energy. Stay on your toes."
Celeon clamped his muscles and got into a stance, he didn't know what to expect from this fight with Dyspo, but one thing was for certain.
Dyspo was upping his game.
Purple energy covered Dyspo like a veil; his eyes were sharper than before, and a bit of muscle formed on his rather skinny body; it was his own transformation of sorts.
"Dyspo is already using his Light Speed mode. I wonder how those two from Universe Six will fare against Dyspo now."
Toppo and Jiren were watching the fight from atop a large rock. They already were down a man, and it seemed like Dyspo wanted it back in full. However, there were still about 40 minutes left in the tournament, and Dyspo was already on the back peddle, releasing his most powerful technique.
"Here I come!"
Dyspo disappeared in a blur, getting Celeon and Hit to up their guard, but Dyspo broke through both of their defenses and landed concise attacks to their faces before slamming them against each other and kicking them away. This all happened in less than a second. It was on par with Hit's timeskip. To be able to move that fast should be physically impossible.
"Urg…he's too fucking fast," Celeon said as he wasn't anticipating that much speed from the Pride Trooper. The initial hits were weak, but his speed compensated for the lack of power.
Dyspo appeared in front of Celeon and kicked Celeon further into the boulder, causing it to topple over him.
"Haha! Nice Work, Dyspo! Keep it up; show Universe Six we're not to be trifled with!"
Dyspo hearing Belmond grinned from ear to ear. "Roger that!"
Hit instantly appeared behind Dyspo, but the bunny-eared alien sped around Hit and kicked him in the back. Dyspo appeared in front of Hit and went for a flurry of attacks; Hit managed to block the otherwise fatal blows and allowed the weaker ones to attack. There had to be a limit to how much time Dyspo could keep that form up.
Hit continued to try and land a successful hit on Dyspo, but he kept getting speed blitzed; it was like he was a tortoise and Dyspo…well, the hare. This was harder than it looked. Hit paused and waited for Dyspo to attack, which the speedster did, but this time, Dyspo's punch phased through Hit, but that was part of Hit's plan.
"Right here!"
"Huh–AH!" Dyspo felt a severe and singular pain in his right pectoral, causing him to crash into a slab of rock. "W-What was that."
"That worked, but it won't work again. Tch," Hit said flatly.
Dyspo shook his head and bared his teeth angrily. "I don't know what the hell you did, but it won't work again!"
Dyspo ran forward, this time leaving afterimages of himself, leaving Hit confused. Dyspo grinned as he began to bombard Hit with punches around his body. Face, stomach, back, everything was taking damage. Finally, Dyspo ended it with one last flying kicking to send Hit flying back.
Dyspo felt an energy spike and prepared himself, only for him to cough out spit as he felt a similar pain from before occurring again, only this time, much sharper. Dyspo fell on one knee as the attack hindered him for a moment.
"What the fuck is that attack! It's like getting punched but with some added bonus to it, damn that Assassin."
Celeon appeared out of the rubble, along with Hit, and both of them stared at the Pride Trooper with a cautious gaze.
"That technique you used…it's a shockwave that splits through time and impacts the opponent; it's your most fatal technique; I'm surprised you can make it…less brutal."
"I've learned restraint from you; thankfully, I didn't strike anything fatal. Nevertheless, the attack may be our ace in the hole. Do you mind distracting him while I prepare a big one?"
Celeon looked at Hit with confidence and nodded. "Yeah, I pretty much got this guy down pact. So don't worry about me; focus on landing the final blow."
"Very well!" Hit disappeared, leaving Celeon behind. Celeon was currently in Super Saiyan 3, as using Super Saiyan God was still a bit taxing; he wanted to save that for when the tournament was dwindling in numbers.
"Ha! Do you think you can beat me solo? You must be an idiot."
"Takes one to know one."
"Why you–YOU JUST PISSED ME OFF!"
Celeon was now receiving the bombardment of punches; Celeon only had one thought going through his mind as Dyspo unleashed his fury upon him.
Toppo was stronger.
Celeon roared, stopping Dyspo in his tracks. Celeon quickly utilized this moment and kicked Dyspo's face, sending the speedster away. Celeon, this time was the one on the offense as he approached Dyspo with gung-ho. Dyspo felt his legs sink, almost like it was dipped into quicksand and sucking him up.
Dyspo looked directly into Celeon's eyes. They were monstrous, with unbridled fury.
Celeon landed a strong punch to Dyspo's nose before landing a flurry of kicks and ending with a palm strike into Dyspo's gut, causing the alien bunny to spit out blood, his eyes went blank briefly, and it was like his soul left his physical body.
Toppo watched this with shaky fists, something Jiren noted and scoffed.
"If you wish to help Dyspo, go ahead. I have no interest in helping him," Jiren said coldly as he watched his subordinate tremble next to him.
Toppo looked flabbergasted but quickly changed tune; he knew how harsh and isolative Jiren could be. However, this was still a team effort; Jiren should at least lend a helping hand.
"I will go!"
Dyspo stood on one knee, coughing up blood; he never took hits like the ones he had just received; they were stronger than Hit's; that was one thing Dyspo knew. Celeon walked up to Dyspo with a ki orb in his hands.
"You're quite strong, but not enough to match my strength. I will give you the option to–"
"JUSTICE FLASH!"
Celeon's head snapped to the side to see an array of red ki blasts heading his way, causing him to jump back.
"HIT, NOW!"
Hit from far away punched the air, causing a strong shockwave to burst from his fists; it passed through all the rocks silently, as if it was using time, and landed against Dyspo's chest, getting the speedster to fly out of the arena.
"NO!" Toppo said as he watched his partner fly out. However, a blur passed by him and caught Dyspo easily. "J-Jiren?"
Jiren appeared back in the arena and dropped Dsypo without remorse.
"Damnit, that guy!" Celeon said as he regrouped with Hit. "Looks like we failed."
"So it seems. Let's get away and recover our strength."
Celeon nodded.
"T-Thanks for the save…Jiren," Dyspo said with his head lowered.
"You let your arrogance cloud your judgment. I won't save you again," Jiren replied firmly, receiving a nod from the grateful Dyspo.
"Those bastards, next time, I'll be the one to knock them out!"
"Don't worry. Next time, I'll be there from the start. We already lost Kunshi; we can't lose you this early. We have thirty-eight minutes remaining."
"Yeah…you're right."
"Damnit, that Jiren guy is nothing to scoff at," Champa voiced with annoyance. "We could've knocked out another troublesome individual, but Jiren intervened."
"Ha! You make it sound like you're going to win, Champa. Just because you have your God Of Destruction candidate in your team doesn't exclude you from losing. In the end, Universe Eleven will be the victor."
Champa only snickered at Belmond's comment and refused to argue back. "UNIVERSE SIX, REGROUP, NOW!"
Down in the arena, the members of Universe 6 who weren't busy all did as they were asked. Celeon and Hit met with Crunch, Cabba, Caulifla, and Kale. However, it seemed Saonel and Pilina were preoccupied at the moment.
"Good to see that we didn't lose anyone," Crunch said as he looked around.
"Bah! This is annoying, no one else is strong enough, and Goku's busy! Maybe I should go knock out some Universe Two fighters."
"Despite appearances, they're strong. So, go for it," Celeon said, hoping to boost Caulifla's morale.
"You betcha!" Caulifla left off, leaving Kale behind.
"We need to be careful of Universe Eleven," Hit said to the remaining group. "Their top three fighters, Jiren, Toppo, and Dyspo, all are powerful; it took Celeon and me just to handle Dyspo, but only because of his speed."
"Speed, huh? I'll fight him next time," Crunch said. "I'm going to head back out there!"
"Cabba, you've been silent for a bit," Celeon said to the quiet Saiyan.
"It's just…what do we wish for when we win?"
Celeon blinked at the question. The question left the group of three as silent as a meadowy night. It wasn't something they thought about; they were going to wing it until the time to make a wish came, but with the rules and all, maybe they needed a plan.
"I have no wish to be granted, so I'll leave that to you two," Hit said as he placed his arms back in his coat pocket. He was quite content with the way things were right now.
"We'll wait for our decision," Celeon answered Cabba, who didn't look too pleased with it but didn't voice his concern.
This tournament was beginning to take its course.
Frost walked around the piles of rubble with a slow stride. The distant sounds of explosions flickered, and the lights danced. It was like a bachelor party but for fighters. Frost didn't wish to get his hands dirty, so he went around with the extra muscle…or metal that was Magetta. Magetta was a strong opponent due to his build and overwhelming stature, something Frost would utilize.
Speaking of utilization, Frost saw who he was looking for this whole time. The pesky Yardrat from Universe 2. Jimizu was his name if Frost heard correctly. Frost then jumped on Magetta's head and pointed toward the grouped members of Universe 2.
"Ring them out, Magetta!"
"CHUGA!" It was Magetta's way of saying "affirmative."
Magetta ran full speed ahead, his steaming ears making the sound of a coal train speeding toward its destination.
"What the–"
"Universe Two, you have been around for quite some time; it's time I eliminate you all myself!"
"These are Universe Six fighters; watch yourself, Jimizu!" Ribrianne, who was in her transformed state, said with caution. It was unlike her to act this way, but she needed to be careful with how the tournament was going.
Frost, perched from atop Magetta, only cackled evilly. "It's good that you're being cautious, but that won't save you from me! EYAH!"
Frost flipped off Magetta's head and shot a ki blast at Ribrianne and Jimizu, which the Yardrat responded to by gripping Ribrianne's shoulder and teleporting away. Frost snickered as he tried to pinpoint his opponent's location; suddenly, he snapped to the left and shot a finger beam at a piece of rubble that exploded upon impact. The sight of Ribrianne and Jimizu entered Frost's vision, making him grin.
"KNOCK THEM OUT, MAGETTA!"
Magetta complied and quickly punched Ribrianne and Jimizu, sending them flying toward the stadium's edge. Frost took this moment to shoot off a dozen of fingers beams.
"Oh no!" Heles said as she watched the beams approach two of her strongest fighters.
Jimizu took the initiative and quickly teleported Ribrianne away, returning as the finger beams passed. Frost looked unhappy with how everything was playing out. He needed to knock out some fighters; otherwise, getting his wish would take much more cutthroat work, and if possible, he'd like to take the easier route.
"I won't let you harm Lady Ribrianne, foul beast."
"Foul beast? You got jokes, but jokes can only get you so…FAR!"
Frost approached Jimizu at a fast pace, but the Yardrat placed two fingers on his forehead and disappeared instantly; Frost grinned and turned around, and shot a beam into Jimizu's shoulders, knocking the Yardrat off course.
"B-But how?" Jimizu said as he felt a burning pain in his shoulder. "No, you shouldn't be able to track me when I use that."
"Perhaps someone else, but your tricks are paltry at best, Yardrat. You're more of a nuisance than a real challenge."
Frost began to walk towards Jimizu, but the Yardrat decided to test his luck again. It must have been a fluke that Frost could track him, but it wasn't. Instead, Frost had shot another beam at the spot Jimizu was going to appear at, and this time the beam was stronger, threatening to pierce his skin.
"AAGH!"
"HAHAHA!" Frost continued to shoot finger beams into Jimizu, so much so that onlookers had to close their eyes from the brutality. Well, most of them. It took Frost a minute to stop his assault, leaving a smoking Jimizu behind. "Well, it seems I overdid it."
"Ugh!" Jimizu fell over, falling onto his back.
Frost did quick work and tossed Jimizu over the edge.
"Well, that's one less problem to deal with."
"YOU BASTARD!"
"Huh," Frost turned to look at who called him out.
"We will be the one to defeat you!"
Frost looked to see four fighters appear, with one of them flying. Frost didn't like being outnumbered, but maybe he'll play with these guys for a bit. They all seemed to be from Universe 2. Revenge was a plague to the mind, but to some, it was the best thing to dish out.
"Well, well, this isn't fair. One to Four? Might I ask your names?"
The one wearing a gold armor set was about to speak, but Frost shot a beam into his chest, knocking him into the fighters behind him and over the arena.
"I'm sorry…I have slippery hands–HA!"
Frost quickly dispatched Universe 2 fighters, not bothering to remember their appearance or names. He didn't like to waste his time and his energy. Frost could hear Universe 2 shout as they all went to take care of Jimizu, who took severe damage. The Universe 2 God even went as far as to call Frost a demon, which he wasn't fazed by; in fact, he rather is a demon than some sniveling wimp.
"Hohoho! Taking out most of the fighters in Universe Two is mighty impressive. You just saved us the trouble of dealing with those vermin."
Frost looked to the left to see Frieza, his counterpart. Frieza had a curved finger on his lip and a shrewd look in his eye. Frost gave Frieza a dubious look.
"It was of no trouble at all. Now, what is it you'd like for me to do?"
"Already eager to take out more?"
"Yes, in fact, I think I'll take you out to save me the trouble of dealing with you after our little alliance ends," Frost said as he charged at Frieza.
"How impudent! I AM THE ALMIGHTY LORD FRIEZA!"
END
We get to see the climax of Celeon and Hit vs. Dyspo; I hope you enjoyed that fight. As you can see, I'm saving the big characters for later; they'll all come full circle. Frost also took care of most of Universe 2 because, let's face it, Ribrianne, Rozie, and Kakunsa are the only ones we paid attention to, as well as Jimizu since he fought Gohan in the anime.
Frost, in this story, is wary of Frieza; considering they're pretty much alike, I wanted Frost to be aware of Frieza's hidden nature. The next chapter will be Frost Vs. Frieza and Frost has some tricks up his sleeve this time.
If you enjoyed it, leave a review, a suggestion for arcs after this one, etc., I'm all ears!
(AN May 13th: I'm going to release chapters up to 16 once a day; I've been writing a steady pace and getting more done than I thought I would since I'm putting all my focus on this story solely, of course, I'll edit everything over since everything up Chapter 15 was already pre-written on my brief hiatus. I'm pretty much trying to wrap this arc up as fast as I can, so I start on the original arcs I cooked up; one of the arcs involves Universe 11, but I won't spoil anything other than that.)
