The Saiyan Devil
Chapter 17
"He's a God Of Destruction now?" Cabba said as he and Hit were about to square off with Dyspo, but that flipped on its head as Toppo suddenly transformed.
Hit usually kept his cool, but that shattered seeing the state Celeon was in. Celeon told him not to interfere with the final battle, but this was because Celeon didn't have knowledge of this new form Toppo had in his arsenal.
"You two shouldn't be worried about your friend. I'm right here!"
Dyspo wasn't one to be ignored as he quickly powered into Light-Speed Mode and rushed forward at Hit and Cabba.
The two Universe 6 fighters shared a nod and went to work on fighting Dyspo.
Celeon cursed himself for being low on fumes, but in that short amount of time he had while Toppo transformed, he could get some energy back, but not enough to transform into Super Saiyan 3.
Destruction Energy outlined Toppo, and Celeon knew he had to cover his body with his Evil Ki to combat this.
"I will give you a chance to jump out of the arena," Toppo spoke gruffly, but despite that, he didn't wish to fight a weak opponent…no, not weak, but someone he respected.
Celeon took a breath and chuckled. "Can't do that. You'll have to throw me off."
Toppo closed his steely eyes before opening them. "I'd hoped you were smarter, but I'll have to break your bones for you to understand just how much the difference between us is!"
Toppo lunged forward with such speed it didn't register for most. Even Celeon didn't know what happened until he was sent barreling through the remnants of the arena. Celeon found himself grabbing ahold of the stadium, digging his fingers into it so he could stop flying towards the edge.
Celeon picked himself up; his face was a bit bloody, and his arms had bite marks on them from when he fought Kakunsa. Nevertheless, Celeon knew he had to dig deep and continue fighting. Toppo came from the air as he leaped towards Celeon's area, and the young Saiyan managed to counter Toppo's punch with his own, albeit barely, as his legs dug into the arena.
Toppo used his other hand and slammed it into Celeon's gut. The young Saiyan felt nothing but intense pain as blood seemed to come out of his mouth, but what shocked Toppo the most was that Celeon was still holding his other hand. Toppo was sure the punch he delivered would cause Celeon to topple over.
Celeon's face hardened, and he spun his body around, using the spinning motion to power up his elbow strike into Toppo's chiseled stomach. The attack did do something as Toppo skidded back, but Celeon didn't let his opponent register his next moves. He began to use every trick in the book.
Celeon created more afterimages, but this time, they seemed more grounded, and they all mimicked the original's attack as they all raised their leg and sent it through the ground, causing a shockwave to travel through. Toppo saw this earlier when Celeon fought Universe 9. Toppo jumped back, finding it easy to dodge, but this was what Celeon wanted as he appeared behind the behemoth.
"EAT THIS!"
Toppo spun around and was met with a fist in his stomach. However, after the punch, he felt like he was being punched continuously as he was pistoned into the ground by what felt like air bullets; it was a similar attack to Jiren's, but the difference was he didn't need to make direct contact.
Toppo saw Celeon overhead, quickly charged a ball of Hakai, and shot it after the young Saiyan, much to his shock and awe. The attack enveloped Celeon, followed by screams of agony and pain before an explosion.
Toppo recovered, walking out of the deep crater he was in and towards the piece of the arena disconnected from the rest. Toppo was still high on energy. Finishing him would take a lot more. He had about fifteen minutes to end this tournament. After that, he felt confident he could knock out everyone else.
Toppo could see the downed figure of Celeon, who was lucky to be in the arena, on a lone piece of the arena that floated aimlessly. Celeon was back to normal, and he looked out for the count. Toppo knew not to waste any time and went to eliminate Celeon, but Toppo felt the ground beneath him crack before two ki arms tore the ground around Toppo apart, pulling it down. Toppo's eyes widened, and he looked at Celeon's body, only for it to disappear.
"I'M RIGHT HERE!"
Once again, Toppo was caught off guard as he raised his head to look at Celeon, who came flying down. Due to the gravity, Celeon's heel kick to Toppo's face did a lot of damage, causing the broken piece of the ground Toppo was on to descend at high speeds.
Toppo looked at his unfavorable position and acted quickly, sending a Hakai orb below him, causing it to explode and send him propelling straight for Celeon, who was bull-charged by Toppo. Toppo grabbed Celeon by the back of his head and forcefully threw him through the arena. However, Toppo didn't leave Celeon unattended as he rushed in, preoccupied with Hakai orbs. He smashed them together and shot them forward.
Celeon, in his normal state, watched the large sphere of destruction head his way. He was using all the tricks he learned while training with Goku, and none of it worked in his favor…no, they were working. Toppo just handled them efficiently.
Celeon covered his body in his Evil Ki and met the orb head-on. This reminded him of when Goku shot Jiren with the Spirit Bomb.
"You fought bravely till the bitter end, Celeon, but survival is everything!"
Celeon turned his head only to see another orb of Hakai heading his way. He was flanked from both sides!
"CELEON, GET OUT OF THERE!" Champa shouted with fear, seeing that the young Saiyan he trained was about to lose.
Celeon knew he couldn't move. He lowered his head and let loose a quick sigh before his vision blurred and a large explosion happened.
Toppo landed a great distance away, landing by Jiren, who acknowledged his presence with a short nod. The explosion was massive, destroying half the arena in the process.
"CELEON!" Goku shouted, and the explosion died down. Everyone from Universe 6 and even Universe 7 looked at the grim sight before them. From their brief conversation, those who knew Celeon, like Gohan, came to respect the Saiyan.
Goku's behavior even worried Vegeta as he had never seen Goku act this way. Vegeta also felt extremely bitter at the final explosion. Despite Vegeta disliking the Saiyan at first, he came to respect Celeon. The scenario got Vegeta thinking that if Cabba were in that position, he would also lose it.
However, no one could rule out that Celeon was dead because his ki signature was alive but very faint.
Three minutes before
Hit and Cabba both prepared themselves as Dyspo charged in after them; the purple blur flanked Cabba, but Hit could react and kick Dyspo in the chest, causing him to spit. Dyspo, who prided himself on being the fastest, could only look at Hit with shock as Hit reacted to his speed. To add more salt to the wound, Hit didn't even use his Time-Skip!
Cabba didn't waste any time and went straight into Super Saiyan 2 as he began to send a barrage of punches at Dyspo, who used his speed to avoid them with ease. Still, the small Saiyan shot off a blast of electricity, which got Dyspo to yelp and jump back, but Hit appeared behind, throwing a right hook into his shoulder, sending Dyspo back toward Cabba.
Cabba, seeing this chance to knock out Dyspo, jumped into the air, charged a Galick Gun, and shot it into Dyspo, hoping to take out the Speedster immediately. Cabba caught a blur leaving the explosion, but Hit was already on top of the fleeing Dyspo, grabbing him by his large ears and swinging him into a piece of rock.
Cabba jumped down and joined hit into attacking Dyspo; the Speedster couldn't escape these attacks; it was like he was in a cage, a cage of fists; his increased speed form was already gone, and despite recovering enough energy to last a bit longer, he was quickly brought back to reality.
Dyspo shouted beastly, getting Cabba and Hit to back off for the moment. Cabba and Hit knew they could both take out Dyspo, but he was resilient to the bitter end. Cabba began to think of ways to approach this matter, and an idea came to him.
"Hit, let me take care of him," Cabba's words caused Hit to peer down at him. Hit could see the unwavering determination within the young Saiyan.
Hit knew all too well how Saiyans operated. Despite Universe 7 and Universe 6 Saiyans having different upbringings, they were still Saiyans at the end of the day.
"Very well, I will go fight Jiren," Hit said as he began the plan he should've done long ago.
Dyspo snickered as he could only be thankful that Hit left him to fight the pipsqueak, but he was a Saiyan, right? He was bound to be strong. Saiyans… really knew how to push someone's buttons.
"I won't be holding back," Was all Cabba worded as he got into the traditional Saiyan stance; shortly after he charged up into Super Saiyan 2, he was finally able to muster this up thanks to Celeon giving him the much-needed boost earlier.
Dyspo only snickered as he felt the need for words was in the past. Dyspo sped forward; his display of speed caused Cabba to gulp. His eyes could see Dyspo's every move, but reacting was entirely different. Dyspo grinned, seeing that Cabba was fazed by his speed, as everyone should be!
Just as Dyspo was about to land a successful punch, Cabba ducked, and Dyspo kept moving forward, but he ran around just before falling off the arena. That trick was not working on him anymore. Unfortunately for Dyspo, Cabba proved he was equally fast as he landed a punch straight on his nose, leaving it a red mark.
"FLUKE! JUST A FLUKE!"
Dyspo ran once again, this time leaving images of himself behind, but Cabba was prepared for this. Celeon used something called After Image in their training, and he devised a counter for such a technique. Cabba jumped in the air and did a leg sweep, sending out a spiral of yellow ki that decimated the afterimages, even knocking the real Dyspo off course.
Cabba came down, charging a blue ki blast in his right hand. Dyspo recovered from his previous displacement and looked up to see Cabba coming down at him, but what sent him on edge was the attack he had in his hand.
"BIG BANG CANNON!"
The attack was a massive blue ki orb, but by the skin of his teeth, Dyspo managed to speed away from the previous spot he was before the attack could land. Cabba's attack caused more of the arena to separate, leaving half of the arena available.
Dyspo breathed, feeling his form giving out. He needed to end this quickly! He was confident that the pipsqueak would be easy to fight, but that wasn't the case. Where Celeon fought with tricks and power, Cabba fought with speed and tactics. You could say tricks and tactics were the same, but they weren't when it came to those two Saiyans.
Damn!
Cabba appeared in front of Dyspo, readying himself for an attack. Still, Dyspo buckled up and struck first, a successful blow to Cabba's face before he rapidly punched the Saiyan into a corner. This happened for a few seconds, but Dyspo felt his body vibrate. His fist was caught by Cabba's hand, getting Dyspo to open his mouth.
"I think…I get how your speed works."
Dyspo felt like he was being played with and angrily ripped his hand away. Speeding around the Saiyan, Dyspo ran so fast that he created a tornado. Within the tornado, Cabba's teal eyes were fierce. His pupils looked from side to side as he tried to pinpoint where Dyspo would attack him from. Front? Back? Cabba didn't know, but he needed to form a plan; earlier, Dyspo almost ran himself out of the arena, and he was sure that would help him. Cabba had already come to the conclusion that he was outgunned by everyone else.
Celeon, Hit, and Kefla. They were in a different league; the only reason Cabba felt he was standing here was that Celeon helped him from being eliminated by Vegeta, but now he may be able to pull his weight here. It was a gamble, but he needed to end this quickly!
"Eat this, you pesky Saiyan!"
Cabba was thankful that he was standing on a rather weak piece of ground. Cabba could feel it breaking due to Dyspo's speed and the fact he was putting pressure on the ground, causing cracks to form. Just as Dyspo was near Cabba, the young Saiyan used his height to his advantage and ducked once again. Everything felt like slow motion as Cabba saw Dyspo try to turn from the edge, but Cabba had already grabbed Dyspo and kicked a ki blast into the ground before Dyspo could register what happened.
He and Cabba were in the bleachers.
Champa couldn't help but grin. "Great work…Cabba, was it?"
Cabba turned around and bowed. "I…did all I could."
"I know you did. Good work."
All Cabba could do was hope that Celeon, Kefla, and Hit pull through.
Shortly after Cabba's fall, Hit and Jiren were now squaring off with each other. Hit had difficulty landing a successful blow on the strongest mortal in the cosmos. Jiren looked visibly bored with this fight. Hit decided to crank it up a notch and repeatedly use his time skip. He got a few hits into Jiren but didn't realize this was part of Jiren's plan.
Hit felt he was making headway and went behind Jiren to attack, but a kick to his gut stopped him in his tracks. Hit quickly entered his time-skip dimension and appeared at Jiren's side, yet the same thing happened. It was like fighting Goku again…but worse. Jiren's impacts were polished and equally as strong. It was like an ant trying to hurt a boulder.
Hit went back a few feet away from Jiren, with the latter staring fiercely at Hit; out of the corner of his eye, he saw that Dyspo was eliminated, but he took the Saiyan with him. It was a fair trade, so he wouldn't scold the speedster for losing without taking someone with him.
"Assassin…do you know how much your pride is worth?"
Hit didn't understand what Jiren was talking about; it was sudden, and his voice was deep, but it wasn't filled with arrogance or anything. It was just how he spoke, as if it were natural and not forced. Hit wasn't one for talking and monologues, so he used time skip again and went to attack. Jiren punched right through it with a solid punch, but Jiren didn't stop as he grabbed Hit by his throat.
"Nothing!"
Jiren shot a ki blast into Hit's stomach, sending him flying into several rocks, but the assassin wasn't easily beaten and could get out of his unfavorable situation. Hit appeared above Jiren, but the Pride Trooper jumped back as Hit kicked toward his head. Jiren used this opening to go for a flurry of attacks, leading Hit to block them with his forearms.
"Damn, this is what Goku had to go through?"
Hit dulled out all the pain he received and landed a clean blow to Jiren's left pectoral. It was strong enough to send the Pride Trooper skidding back through several pillars of rocks. Hit sent a shockwave as a follow-up and caught Jiren in the same spot; the spandex-wearing alien felt his breathing stop for a second before he grounded himself, stopping him from moving over the edge.
Hit appeared on top of a pillar with one arm stretched at Jiren. With an open palm, a luminous purple orb appeared. Jiren was about to attack, but something stopped him, and before he knew it, he was frozen in place, frozen in time.
"Time Cage…" Hit breathed as if he had been holding it for so long. "We only have 12 minutes left; I believe I can hold you out until the time is up. By then, Celeon and Kefla should knock them all out, but I will speed this up and knock you over."
Hit jumped down in front of Jiren. He looked directly into the Pride Troopers' eyes, and his red eyes glowered. "You said my pride meant nothing. I would have agreed with you a few months ago, but not anymore. I can already tell by how you look at others that you're quite arrogant and self-centered, perhaps projecting?"
Hit's composed tone shook Jiren. His eyes glared at the Assassin before him for looking down on him. Jiren's glare hardened, and eventually, his body began to shake, getting Hit to widen his eyes. However, before Hit could take action, the Assassin felt the air in his lungs disappear as he was sent barreling into the pillar.
Jiren didn't waste any time and lunged forward at Hit, who was still feeling hazy after Jiren's last attack. The Assassin looked, only to see a white boot crash into him, sending him further into the arena. Jiren picked up Hit by the ankle and swung him into the center pillar before throwing him in the air.
"It's…" Jiren charged up a red ki blast, stronger than the ones so far, and shot it directly into Hit's stomach. "OVER!"
Hit was sent flying over the arena, causing Jiren's attack to explode, leading to Hit appearing in the bleachers with his body limping.
"Sorry…" That was all Hit said. He cursed himself for talking when he could've rang out Jiren. He could only hope Celeon and Kefla would handle the rest.
Vados knew what would happen, yet she couldn't bring herself to enjoy that fact. Like Hit, she could only pray for the best.
Present
Toppo, sensing that Celeon was still in the tournament, looked around. Jiren was now facing Vegeta and Android 17 after ringing out Hit. Dyspo was knocked out during his fight with Cabba, with both ringing each other out, leaving him to fight the rest of the people, although he was confident he could defeat them all.
In a secluded spot underneath a bunch of rubble, Celeon awoke from his slumber. It took Celeon a bit to realize he was still alive; the last thing he remembered was being blasted, and then everything went blank. He was confused, but he realized he was still in the tournament. He looked around, and his eyes locked on Kefla and Goku fighting before he looked up to Cabba and Hit in the stands.
"You don't disappoint, Goku! I'd expect no less from Celeon's teacher!" Kefla and Goku had their hands locked, trying to overpower each other. Thankfully, Goku was keeping up with Kefla in Super Saiyan Blue.
Goku was still worried about Celeon, but he needed to focus and win. Jiren was still lingering around, with Vegeta and Android 17 trying to knock him out, but Goku knew he needed to win; he needed Ultra Instinct!
Kefla, sensing an opening, was able to kick Goku away. The kick was strong enough to cause Goku to revert back to his normal state. Kefla charged two dense ki blasts as she surged with power. She was also worried about Celeon, but he told her to worry about herself and knock everyone out. That was what she was going to do!
"It's been fun, but I'm still needed!"
Kefla chucked the red ki blasts at Goku, but a blur quickly reflected them. Kefla's eyes widened, and she prepared herself. She could feel the air around Goku change. She felt this before. Goku's hair billowed before a white, divine aura washed over Goku, covering his body. Goku raised his head, and his eyes were a silverish gray. Kefla felt herself grin. She wanted a crack at Ultra Instinct.
Goku flew back to the highest pillar. Clenching his hands, he released a beastly shout, getting everyone's attention once again. Beerus grinned, seeing the Saiyan in Ultra Instinct again. Things were getting interesting. Steam and heat escaped from Goku's body, getting Kefla to put an arm over her head. However, she was grinning like a kid on Christmas.
"Hell yeah! This is what I'm talking about," Kefla also jumped on a pillar behind her. "Everyone else is pulling out everything in their arsenal. That means I must do so too!"
Kefla began to charge up. A red aura danced around her, coming out in waves as she shook the whole void. Electricity sparked around her, and her hair tie broke. She entered Super Saiyan 2.
"Hmm, her power is equal to that of the Spirit Bomb that Goku used on Jiren, if not…a bit stronger due to both Caulifla and Kale training beforehand," Vados had a hand on her chin as she watched the fused warrior power up.
Goku had a stoic expression on his face as he saw that Kefla was trying to match his current power. He couldn't help but inwardly feel proud that the younger generation was so strong, regardless if they were from another universe. However, he needed to win, and Jiren was still in the tournament. That was a problem.
"I hope you're ready, Kefla. I won't be holding back,"
"Same here, Old Man!"
After charging up, Kefla placed her hands out, shooting a red beam at Goku. The blast was fast, but Goku dodged it by stepping to the side. Kefla was smart; she saw..well, Kale and Caulifla saw how Ultra Instinct worked, and both of them made some plans on how to handle it. Thankfully, Celeon's influence on them caused both of the Saiyans to use their brains more.
Kefla jumped from her pillar, cloaking her hands in green energy. She was already throwing punches at Goku, but they didn't make contact. Goku dodged with no effort. Kefla was agitated; her calm outlet was thinning, and her anger was beginning to get the best of her. Her attacks were getting sloppy, enough for Goku to counter with a gut punch that sent her spinning into mountains of rocks.
Goku jumped after Kefla. Everything seemed like a blur to him as he focused on the fused Saiyan. Kefla quickly charged up green ki orbs and shot them at Goku. The senior Saiyan knew these ki orbs weren't normal; it was like condensed nukes. However, thanks to being familiar with the calmness and tranquility of Ultra Instinct, he wasn't worried and dodged it by turning his body sideways.
Goku slammed his entire body into the spot Kefla was at, but the jet-green-haired Saiyan dodged and went for a flurry of kicks. Even with his back turned, Goku was dodging each of them. Kefla decided to switch it up and cloak herself in a bubble of green before it exploded shortly. The attack did catch Goku off guard.
Kefla jumped out of the smoke with a satisfied grin on her face. She was positive she did some damage to Goku, but her grin flatlined as she saw a silver blur before she could register anything else; her pain, specifically her back, felt like it was hit with a barrage of fists before she was kicked into the ground.
Goku, from his perched spot, looked down at the groaning Kefla. Her face was strained with annoyance. Goku was surprised his power was equal to hers. He was sure she was stronger than his Super Saiyan Blue, and there was no contest in that regard.
"Damnit! You're crazy strong," Kefla's voice was taut. The tension in her muscles seemed to air out as the seconds passed. "There's no doubt you're Celeon's teacher, alright!"
Goku's body began to steam once again. Everyone was watching his fight with high intensity. His body was seemingly getting used to the power of Ultra Instinct.
"Round Two!"
Kefla was the first to act, kicking the ground like Celeon did, causing a shockwave to travel, destroying the pillar that Goku was resting on. Dust fielded Goku's vision, but he could pinpoint Kefla's energy thanks to his senses. Goku quickly turned his upper body and grabbed a punch heading his way.
"Smart," Goku's voice echoed, as if he was a fused warrior himself but with his original voice.
Kefla found her position in a bind. She was sure she could blow Goku cleanly if he couldn't see. She quickly weighed her options. She pulled her arm away immediately and jumped back. Around Kefla was a bunch of red ki orbs that floated in the air. Goku's silver eyes watched each one of them carefully, preparing a way to avoid them if need be.
Kefla grinned as she powered up a dense red twister of ki around her hands and lunged forward. Goku expected the red orbs to attack him, but they remained stationary. Goku returned to dodging Kefla's ki-covered fists, but one connected to his chest, sending him skidding back. Before he could make another move, a red ki blast landed, knocking him further back.
"Hmm, this isn't good. Goku is still trying to think while using Ultra Instinct. I can see that he's trying to clear his mind, but that is also a problem for him," Whis added in his worries, which got Beerus to groan as he knew Ultra Instinct would play a key role in winning this tournament.
Kefla began to shoot all the stationary ki orbs at Goku, who was now ready to dodge all of them. Some of them grazed him, but he still managed to attack Kefla with many blows that sent her reeling. Kefla didn't understand how the gap between her and Goku was so large. She was fused! She should be kicking his ass, yet she was the one getting her ass kicked.
Reaching her breaking point, Kefla used another large pillar and began to charge up again. This time, her energy skyrocketed further, causing the void to shake once again. She was pissed, beyond pissed, she was furious! She wasn't weak at all! She was Kefla, a fused Saiyan warrior, and nothing less!
Soon after, red lightning began to shoot everywhere, completely slicing through the rubble. Even the Katchi Katchin was weak in the face of the lightning-based ki that erupted from Kefla's body. Goku knew time was running out and began to charge a Kamehameha. He ran forward, jumping on rubble and flipping as one of Kefla's ki rays sliced a piece of Goku's hair.
If that had hit, Goku was sure to die from it.
"THIS IS IT! YOU CAN'T DODGE IN MIDAIR!"
Kefla charged two red and green ki discs in her hands before releasing a large ki wave at Goku. Everyone thought he was finished, but what shocked them next was when Goku flipped, using the Kamehameha orb in his hands to slide off Kefla's attack. The fused warrior's eyes practically fell from how wide her eyelids raised, and her mouth went limp.
"HA!" Goku shot the Kamehameha in Kefla's face. The fused warrior was screaming as she was sent through a piece of the arena and out of it. As she appeared over the bleachers, Kefla was defused due to the Potara Earrings breaking apart.
Champa wanted to scream, but his voice croaked. He peered at Caulifla and Kale, who were returning to their two feet thanks to Cabba.
"Oh…sorry," Caulifla couldn't find her voice. She knew it was over. Kale kept silent as she stared at the Arena.
The only one left in Universe 6 was Celeon.
END
AN: Whew, a lot went down, but I hoped you guys enjoyed this. As you can see, a lot is different. I changed Goku vs. Kefla. I feel like in my story, thanks to Celeon's intervention, she was a bit smarter and decided to use tactics and not just brute force her way to victory, yet her emotions still get the best of it. We have about 2 chapters left before this arc ends; forgive me if things seem a bit rushed here, but after Goku vs. Kefla, there are basically only 10 minutes left.
Edit: May 18th, 2024 - So I actually have this and one more chapter done, which was done months ago, but life just got a bit bumpy, and I forgot to update this story. A friend and I began brainstorming the next two arcs, which I hope to make as incredible as possible when I get to them. Since We're far into the story, I wanted to ask you what you like and dislike. I can pretty much tell you all that if it's just about the Power Scaling, then all I can say is, "Oops" When I first started this story, I didn't think to get this far.
Also, if you wish to donate anything, feel free to check out my K/o Fi at saurianmp4
With that said, I'll have the next chapter up soon!
