A month after her failed date with Pacey things with Dawson started and the first five months seemed absolutely amazing…until Dawson decided to read her journal when she stepped out of the room, two months after the McPhee's arrived.
Joey somberly made her way to Pacey's locker as he pulled out a few books from his locker shoving them into his backpack. "Hey."
"Oh, hey Jo." Pacey zipped up his bag pulling it over his shoulder. "What's up?"
"You talk to Dawson?"
"No…Andie and I have been busy lately…why?"
"He and I are fighting…" Joey rolled her eyes leaning against the lockers. "He decided to read my journal…"
Pacey's eyes widened as he stopped his initial steps away, turning to her. "Your kidding?"
"Nope…and then he fought with me about it."
Pacey shook his head leaning against the lockers next to her. "I'm assuming he didn't come across as peachy?"
"He was acting like a jerk…I didn't have anyone to talk to…so I put it in my journal." Joey explained with a roll of her eyes her eyes catching her blonde counterpart at the other end of the hall. "You want to come over for a movie? Bessie and Bodie are taking Alex to Hyannis to visit a friend."
"Sorry Jo…Andie and I have plans." Pacey shrugged giving her a half smile. "Tomorrow?"
"Sure…" Joey nodded in disappointment backing away from him. "See you later Pace." She left before he said more. First issues with Jen, then her distance with Dawson, and now Pacey's sudden attachment to the new kids made her feel alone.
So, when Bessie and Bodie went to leave her sister asked if she was okay and if someone was coming by, so Joey lied. "Yeah, I'm fine. Pacey should be by in a bit."
"Ok…call if you need us, Joey." Bodie smiled pulling Bessie out to the car, car seat in hand.
With them gone Joey put in the first movie she knew Dawson wouldn't touch and curled up on the couch.
Twenty minutes in and the knock on the door startled Joey, her eyes turning to it. Shaking her head in confusion she got up to answer. A yawn on her lips as her eyes widened. "Pace…what are you doing here? Weren't you and Andie…"
"She stood me up." Pacey muttered with a shrug his eyes dancing with hers. "Still want to do that movie?"
"Sure." Joey smiled stepping back to let him pass. "I already started one but if you want to you can change it."
"What is it?"
"It's called Addicted to Love." Joey huffed, taking her spot back on the couch pulling the blanket from the back and pulling it over her legs then over to Pacey's as he sat down next to her.
"Something Dawson wouldn't watch?" Pacey snickered looking at her with a grin which she returned.
"Yeah, something like that."
By the time the second movie played they curled into the couch.
"Wake up sleepyheads! Who's hungry?" Bessie's voice broke the pair from their sleep, their eyes locking as they moved.
Joey found her heart racing, she lay almost fully on Pacey her head on his chest, when their eyes met, she felt her chest come to life, her spine tingling.
For Pacey it was as if time stood still on replay, his heart was on fire, Andie hadn't yet stirred feelings in him. And that thought had him clearing his throat, pulling himself out from under her. "Guess we fell asleep."
"Yeah." Joey breathed sitting back up on the couch, trying to pull herself back to earth when her sister stepped back into the living room.
"Who's hungry?"
Read and review…if you want more. I hope you like this, trying not to confuse but it will be a different take on 'Promicide'
