Kim woke on Thursday morning, the Anniversary of her rape. She was actually feeling happy, relaxed, hormone fueled but happy. She knew Adam was scared going into the night afraid of her having a nightmare or worse him getting attacked. She decided to wake him by letting him know that she was okay. She rolled him slightly climbing on top of him. It was hard for her to work his body but she knew her fingers could do the job of at least waking him. Her fingers got lower and she saw his body coming alive. Goosebumps breaking out, soft moans as her fingers caressed his v line. She could see his body was ready for her without much effort. She smirked knowing the effect she had on him. Kim got herself into position holding his erection as she started to slide down taking him inside her. She started rocking slowly trying to wake him but also drag out every sensation she could. Adam started to wake feeling like he was in heaven. He could feel himself inside Kim, her body rocking slowly on top of him and tiny kicks on his abdomen.
"God darling! I'm loving how your mind is working this morning!" He groaned. He wanted to take control but that was almost impossible these days. "Thought you would like this!" Kim moved faster, she needed relief and quick. "Like is an understatement but let's go with that for now." He grabbed her hips digging his fingers into her skin. He loved her like this. Pregnant, happy, glowing bright, happily married and rocking his world. "Baby. I need relief." She pouted as she moved slightly faster. "Oh I got you!" He moved one hand down to her core playing with her helping her over the edge. She moaned his name, her head thrown back in pleasure. He came right behind her. All he needed was her trembling and spasms to push him over the edge which he was thrilled about. He needed to feel her sweaty body pressed against him.
She moved to lay next to him. She was lying on her side smiling wide next to him. "I assume you are feeling good this morning." He asked rubbing her belly. "I am. I really wanted to show you how good I felt this morning. How free I feel this morning. I think it's finally over. I think she's finally free." Kim spoke watching his face breaking out into the brightest smile. "I couldn't agree more. I'm so thankful that she is finally free. It's beautiful!" He rubbed her belly loving the kicks on his hand. "So I have therapy today and the support group. And I know Voight gave you today off. So how about after the support group meeting we take the kids to the zoo?" Kim asked knowing he would love that idea. "Sounds perfect! The kids will love that and it's good family time." He moved to kiss her softly. "Should we dress a bit and get the kids for a snuggle session." Kim asked really wanting to enjoy time with her kids.
"Sounds great! I'm sure the kids would love that. Let's get dressed quick and then I will go grab the kids." Adam handed her a few pieces of clothes as he grabbed his boxers and a shirt before heading to the kids rooms. "Hey Miss Allie Cat! Mommas awake looking for some snuggle time." He watched her jump running towards him for a hug before she ran to her parent's room. Adam headed to Riley's room. "Hey buddy. You want to go snuggle up with mommy and me." Adam watched him nod a bit but was clearly still asleep. "Okay buddy I will carry you." He picked him up carrying him to their room seeing Allie, Kim and Tiger already curled up together. "Well this is adorable." Adam laid back down with Riley still in his arms. The couple was surprised to see Allie's hand on Kim's belly. She didn't seem to mind the kicks today. Even Tiger seemed to be more comfortable today.
The full family had fallen back to sleep for a bit but that was fine. Adam had an alarm set so they wouldn't over sleep. He heard Kim talking a bit but he wasn't sure who she was talking to. He opened his eyes to she hers closed but she was clearly awake. "Good morning little man. Snuggle up and go back to sleepy." Kim whispered as she laid with Allie and Tiger. It dawned on him that Pierre was visiting this morning. And it was on the perfect day. She must have felt him on the bed. He watched her smile a bit as she drifted off again. He let her be knowing she was happy and safe. He placed Riley on the bed so he could get up and shower. His family was happy so he felt comfortable taking a shower. As he stepped out of the shower he poked his head out looking to see them all still asleep. He wasn't sure if Pierre was still in the bed with them. It was hard to tell with how that worked. It was a spirit so he wasn't sure how it worked but he knew she was thrilled to have a visit today.
He dressed and woke the kids first. Allie was happy to get started on her day running off to her room. Riley was easier to wake this time. He was happy to get moving. He took off to the bathroom as Adam leaned in to wake Kim. "Hey darling. It's time to start waking up again. I know you have both your fur babies but it's time to wake up at least." He watched a confused look come over her face. "I heard you talking to him. Telling him good morning. And to snuggle up and go back to sleep. Just soak up the moment." He kissed her head as he headed out to find Riley. Kim watched him leave the room. She did her best to live in the moment. She missed little man terribly and loved when he visited. She loved knowing he was still with her even after they changed homes. His spirit never left her side. Kim laid there as Allie came back into the room. "Tiger it's breakfast time." She tried to get him to wake. "Oh hunny you know he doesn't care till he hears the can open. He's definitely food motivated." Kim smiled as Allie kissed his head and then headed off down the stairs.
Adam returned with Riley in tow. "We ready to get moving." He asked as they both heard the can opening and watched Tiger bolt for his breakfast. "Yeah I guess. It's just been a nice morning. Comfortable, relaxing, peaceful. I almost don't want to leave. But I know we have plans today." She moved a bit trying to get out of bed as easy as possible. Adam helped her a bit but let her have control and didn't treat her like she was an invalid. He knew she could do it alone but he really wanted to help. He liked helping her anyway he could. "Thank you for the help. I'm good for now." She kissed him softly heading off to the bathroom to get her day started. Neither were in a rush this morning. Yes they had placing to be but they had time. It wasn't 8am for work so they could relax a bit and move slower. Once he knew she was safely in the shower the boys headed down the stairs to see Allie and Tiger playing. She had done her chores and Tiger had eaten a good portion of food.
Riley started to play with them as Adam started to make breakfast. He decided to make breakfast sandwiches this morning with fruit just to change things up a bit. He was tired of eating the same thing for breakfast everyday but it worked with the busy schedule. Today they had time so he decided to enjoy it. "Kiddos breakfast is ready. I'm going to get you two settled then go check on mom okay?" He watched them nod. He had cut both the sandwiches into smaller pieces so he was comfortable leaving them for a minute or two. He found Kim getting out of the shower and starting to dry off. "Perfect timing I guess." He watched her smile as he took the towel to dry her legs and under her belly. Lotion was applied before Kim got dressed for the day. She was into summer dresses at this point. It was just easier and cooler in the August heat. The couple headed back down the stairs to see both kids eating happily. Adam handed Kim her sandwich for her to eat before her meds. They found that really helped as she got later in the pregnancy. Even the doctors couldn't explain why it wasn't an issue before but it was now. But they rolled with it as they figured out food first fixed the problem. Easy enough solution in their minds.
"Breakfast sandwiches? Thanks!" Kim smiled happily. "I figured we had extra time this morning so why not. Change it up when we have more time." He smiled kissing her lovingly. "Alright kiddos so mom and I have some work to do today but after that we are going to get you two from school and take you to the zoo. Is that okay?" Adam asked seeing the kids get excited. "I will take that as a yes!" He laughed a bit. "Oh the zoo is always a hit with the kids." Kim laughed knowing they loved it just as much as her. The kids had moved from the table when they finished eating taking their plates to the kitchen. "So we are working today?" Kim asked unsure why he didn't tell them the truth. "Well I wasn't sure they would understand. Allie would get the therapy part because she sees a counselor. But the support group part I'm not sure they would understand. Saying work seemed easier. I think when they get older we take them to the support group on the anniversary. So we can truly all heal together." He explained. "I get that. I just don't want to sweep it under the rug like we are embarrassed by it. It's absolutely heartbreaking that it happened but I survived. And that is amazing. They need to know they can over come every and anything." Kim replied.
"I agree with all that. I guess I think they are too young to understand. And we already had to explain rape to Allie. I just want to keep them innocent longer." He knew she would get it. "Believe me I get it and if this was last year I would agree completely. I just don't want the shame of therapy and support. Maybe we can just say that?" She wasn't angry she just wanted the kids to know the truth always. "I understand completely. And I agree going forward we will let them know the truth. I'm sorry I made you feel like I was embarrassed or ashamed. That's not how I feel at all. I just wanted to protect the kids by shielding them from the ugly truth we see everyday. Please believe me." He grabbed her hands looking deep into her eyes. "I do believe you. But you know it's also important for me to explain how I feel. So thank you for listening and understanding." Kim leaned in to kiss him letting him know she believed him.
"Okay let's get the kids moving so we can head to therapy and the support group." He kissed her picking up the plates and headed to the kitchen to clean up. Kim moved to get the kids going. "Kiddos let's get going." Kim called for the kids to move to the car. The kids moved to the car excited for the day. "Be right behind you." Adam called out needing his wallet and phone from upstairs. He quickly ran up the stairs and back down to get in the car with his family. He noticed Kim was in the passenger seat of her car. He wondered if she was at her breaking point with driving or if she just wanted to let him drive. Adam started the car putting on a station the kids liked to sing along to. As he drove he noticed several messages popping up on his phone. "Kim can you check that for me?" He was really hoping it was nothing important. "Yeah no problem." Kim smiled taking his phone to see who texted. She laughed seeing the messages.
"Well who was it?" He asked curious as to who had her laughing. "The team wondering how I am this morning. I will respond." Kim took a selfie of herself shining bright, sending to the group chat. Neither could help but laugh when the text messages just started to blow up. Everyone excited to see she was doing well. Especially since it had never happened before. This was the first year she had done totally well the whole week. They were all surprised but certainly thrilled for the family. As the couple dropped the kids off they headed to therapy maybe excited, maybe thrilled but happy with the progress. "Are you ready for therapy?" Kim asked knowing Adam hated it. "Today yeah I am just because you are doing so well. It's not me trying to hold it together to support you through this. We are both strong, happy, positive and free. I think it's going to be easy today." He knew therapy was hard but today seemed like a good day. "I think easier but maybe not totally easy. But we shall see." She hoped it would be easy but you never know.
"We are here. You ready to head in?" Adam asked as they pulled up. "Yeah let's do this." Kim was actually excited to get started. "Alright let's head in." Adam jumped out of the car ready to help Kim if she needed it. They moved into the hospital heading to the offices. Adam's hand never leaving Kim's body. He loved feeling her close, it kept him grounded in tough times but also brought him joy in the everyday life. They arrived outside the office knocking gently to let Dr Charles know they were there. They waited in the chairs across from the door hand in hand. It wasn't long till the door opened allowing them inside. "Well good morning! I'm assuming this morning went well." He asked as they entered the room. "Absolutely. Woke early had snuggle time with the kids, breakfast together. It's been good. I feel good." Kim and Adam sat on the couch. Adam's hand went right to the belly. "Adam how are you feeling about this morning?" Dr Charles asked. "Good. Was I concerned about this morning, sure. But I feel like she is in a really good place. And I feel like she's finally free from the strangle hold of the past." Adam explained feeling kicks on his hand. "Great. I sense you have more to say?" He asked seeing the look on Adam's face. "We have a small misunderstanding this morning. I told the kids we were working half days they getting them for the zoo. Kim was upset I didn't tell them the truth. I explained that I felt like they wouldn't understand and that I just wanted to keep them innocent longer. It was only a few months ago we had to explain to Allie what rape was. I just really wanted to protect them. It was nothing else." Adam explained unsure if Kim was truly okay with how this morning went.
"Okay well Kim how did you feel about that?" He asked wanting to make sure they talked through this. "I was upset but I understand where he was coming from. I guess some days I still worry that people see me differently because of the rape but it's only a few days. And today seemed to be like one of those days. I want to be honest with our kids always. I never want to hide things from them. That's why I always told Allie that a bad man had hurt me. So she could understand that you can overcome the past. You can overcome the worst things possible. But I do understand his point of the kids not understanding it. So I'm good. Just a moment." Kim explained knowing this was what needed to happen. "Okay. Great. So it sounds like you solved this before got here. But I'm happy we discussed it again to make sure we worked through it. No one wants a misunderstanding over something small." The trio continued talking through the hour about being free for the first time.
As the couple left the appointment they were all smiles. They were happy and nothing could diminish that. "Should we hit the park before the support group?" He asked watching her smile wide. "Hell yes! Then we can update our photo from last year." She couldn't wait to get back to their park and their tree. The couple was almost giddy getting to their favorite park again. Happy to be in a safe place for the couple. A place he realized they needed to bring the kids to. He found a parking spot close to their tree. He didn't want Kim having to walk forever in the heat. "Darling we need to bring the kids here. They never got to see our tree. So this weekend we should bring the kids here for a picnic." Adam helped her get out of the car. "Absolutely. We will do that Saturday since you and all the boys have a game on Sunday." Kim knew they would have a great time. She was a little concerned how Riley would do with all the noise so she had reminded Adam multiple time to rent the earphones to protect his ears. "It will be great! The kids will have such a great time all weekend." He hugged her as they walked together. It was comfortable and easy as they walked.
They sat under the tree just soaking up the sunshine. It was exactly what they needed. "Should we take a photo together to send out to everyone?" Kim asked as she settled against him. "Of course. I think we should let everyone know she is free." Adam wasn't sure if she was ready for that. "You know I think it's time. I feel free finally and I think our friends and family need to know that. So yeah let's do that." Kim smiled as she took out her phone taking photos of them together. They sent the photo out stating. "After many years of turmoil and feeling trapped 13 year old Kim is finally free. I am finally free. And it's all thanks to Adam. The love of my life, the father of my children, my best friend, my husband, my ride or die. Love you baby! Can't thank you enough." Kim sent the message knowing everyone would be thrilled.
The couple relaxed together soaking in all the sunshine they could before heading to the support group. This was the first Kim didn't dread going. She felt empowered by this new found freedom. Something she never thought she could or would find. She was literally glowing as they walked back to the car. She felt lighter both figuratively and literally. She never knew life could feel this great again. "You want to drive or are you done with driving?" He asked curious as to her response. "You can drive. I'm not done, just don't feel like it today. I'm enjoying being relaxed today and driving in this city can be anything but relaxing." She gave him a very knowing look. Which he laughed at. "You are very right. Just keep me in the loop when you think you are done so I can work out a schedule." He knew she was going to hate giving up control but it would need to happen and probably sooner rather than later. He watched her nod a bit. Like she was listening and processing what he had said. She might not agree yet but she knew it was coming.
They drove in silence to the support group. Adam had no idea how it would go this year. Kim wasn't sure either though she had more hope knowing how she felt on the inside. When they arrived Adam helped her out of the car, holding her close as they walked towards the room where the group met. Kim had tensed for a moment but relaxed again almost right away. Adam wasn't sure why but he saw she was okay again so he let it go. He figured she would have brief moments all day and that's okay. It would happen especially on this day so he didn't worry too much. They found two seats towards the back of the room. It had been a pretty long walk to Kim was tired already. "Are you going to speak today?" He asked unsure where her mind was at. "Um I feel like I should and probably will. I think it would be good to let people here know that this is possible. Being happy, free, pregnant, married, it's all possible with the right people in your life." She replied seeing nothing but understanding in his eyes. "I think that's a great idea. So I will help you walk up there if you need it." He smiled wrapping his arm around her shoulders. They relaxed a bit as they waited for the meeting to start.
The couple watched as people started to speak. It was heartbreaking listening to teenagers, adults talking about being raped or sexually assaulted. Adam couldn't image how hard it must have been to talk the first time at this group. Let alone years later. He knew all these people.e were stronger than him for sure. Because he knew he couldn't do this. It seemed humiliating to him more than anything. But he knew it helped Kim so he had to believe it worked. He was brought from his thoughts by a tap on his leg. Kim was ready to walk up to speak. He helped her up and he led her to the front staying close by seeing her ankles were swollen again. "Hi I'm Kim B. I was raped in 2009 on this very day. Last year after I left this very room I went t to confront my rapist. I didn't know if it would work but I said everything I needed to say and took back my life. I have been almost nightmare free for a year now. I don't wake up with dread, I enjoy a full life with my husband and our children. And you can all have this life too. I'm finally free from the strangle hold he had on me. And it all started in this room. But it truly took the love and support of my family, my friends and my husband to fully recover from my attack. I wish all of you get this too. It's the best life ever. Trust the process. Do the work so y'all can be free too." Kim smiled as she hugged the counselors of the support group. They had been there all those years ago to help her then and to help these people now.
As the meeting came to an end Kim stayed talking with the counselors and some of the victims who just needed to ask questions from a survivor who came out on the other side. Adam allowed her to speak but brought her a chair to sit in so she could rest her feet some. He never rushed her or them. He let them have their feelings. It was healing for them all and they needed that for sure. The people around Kim started to dwindle down so Adam moved closer ready to help Kim to the car. She looked a little tired but overall happy. "Grab the kids and take naps before the zoo?" Adam offered. He laughed seeing her eyes light up. "Alright let's go then." He hugged her as they moved. They were floating on a cloud right now. The couple sat in the car barely buckled in before Kim closed her eyes. Adam smiled softly knowing exactly what she needed always.
He arrived at Allie's school jumping out to head in and get her. "Hey my Allie Cat! Mommas sleeping in the car right now. So we are going to take naps at home before going to the zoo okay?" He asked as they headed out. "Yeah that's good. I'm sure mom and Riley will really need it." She stated as they walked. "Oh lord little miss you know you need one too!" He tickled her a bit before helping her into the car. She was quiet luckily and was happy to walk into the daycare to pick up Riley. He would never leave her in the car even with Kim sleeping. When they returned Kim was still asleep which was what he wanted. The kids sat quietly as Adam drove them home. He wasn't surprised at all that Kim was still asleep as they arrived home but also Riley was asleep. "Okay Allie let's head up to bed okay. I will carry Riley and settle him while you get ready for your nap." He helped both kids out but Allie really didn't need much help. They entered the house moving Riley to bed right away. He tucked Riley in as Allie got into sleep wear for her nap. Kim liked the kids to change from school clothes after school to keep the germs down.
Adam finished getting Allie into bed before he headed back down to get Kim. "Hey darling. You ready to head up to bed?" He asked quietly but making sure she heard him. "Okay." She whispers as she started to get out of the jeep. He moved slowly making sure she was safe. As they walked up the stairs the pace was even slower. He would hate for her to trip and fall so he stayed super close to her. As soon as she was on the bed she was out cold again. He chuckled softly taking off her shoes and putting her favorite blanket over her. Adam heard back down the stairs to relax and respond to text messages from the day. Everyone was excited for the family but were still interested in how the meeting went. "The support group went well. We stayed after to let Kim talk with victims offering support. She and the kids are now crashed out in their beds." He sent the message before heading outside to sit on the deck. It was the first time he saw the pool Kim bought in person.
He liked it seeing it was padded on the bottom so it was more comfortable for them to sit on. He also noticed it had a pillow. And that it looked like the perfect length for Kim to lay out in. He knew that's why she bought it. He smiled thinking of her enjoying it as the summer goes on. He wanted her comfortable, he only wished they had done it sooner. But at least she had it now. Maybe after the kids were in bed they could enjoy it together. He headed back in a short time later to start making lunch for his family. He knew they would be waking soon and would be hungry. Especially Kim. And he knew to never keep a pregnant woman waiting. He cut plenty of fruit and veggies before he made sandwiches. He made Kim a special sandwich since he learned pregnant woman weren't supposed to eat processed lunch meat. He was surprised by all the items she wasn't allowed to eat which combined with her allergies made this difficult at times but they always worked around it.
He heard the kids moving so he covered the food and headed up to see the kids. He found both awake with Allie heading to the bathroom. And Riley sitting up stretching a bit. "Hey buddy! You hungry for some lunch?" He asked watching his son nod a bit. He was still waking so he wanted a snuggle. Adam gladly soaked up the snuggles while he could. "Allie Cat. Lunch is ready. I'm gonna wake mom and then we will have lunch." He saw her running down the stairs. He could only imagine how hungry she was. He chuckled lightly as he moved with Riley to wake Kim. "Hey darling. It's time to get up for some lunch." He felt her nod a bit. "Are you awake enough for me to leave? Allie ran for the food I have covered and prepared downstairs." He watched her sitting up some. "Yeah I'm good. Hey bud. Did you have a good nap?" Kim asked Riley rubbing his back. "Yeah hungry now." He smiled softly. "Okay let's go eat before Allie gets hangry!" The adults laughed as they headed down the stairs.
They found Allie trying to reach the food Adam had made. "Hold up. Let me help." Kim grabbed the food bringing it to the table while Adam settled Riley in his booster seat. He then grabbed the plates and napkins. Kim grabbed the drinks while kids started to eat. They were obviously both hungry. "Is it good kiddos?" Adam asked seeing them both quiet but eating. They both nodded but said nothing. They just wanted food. The whole family ate quietly enjoying the downtime. Adam's hand on Kim's belly still. He loved feeling the kicks, he loved every part of this. "After this we are heading to the zoo. But no rush. Make sure you guys eat enough." Kim watched them get excited but kept eating. As they finished eating Adam decided to address the issue from this morning. He still wanted to protect the kids but he wanted to celebrate Kim's new found freedom.
"Okay so kiddos remember how this morning I said mom and I had some work this morning?" He watched them nod and he saw Kim's attention turn to him. "So today was a really good day for mom. Remember last year she was really sad for a few days?" He knew Allie would remember. "Yes because the bad man hurt her when she was a kid." Allie explained. "That's right. So last year your mom and I went to see the bad man in jail. Your mom yelled at him a lot telling him how much he took from her and how she was done letting that happen. She took back her life that day. And one year later she is still nightmare free. We agreed today that the childhood Kim that mom protects deep inside everyday is now free and happy. Does that make sense?" He watched the kids looking at him Riley shrugged since he didn't really understand but Allie nodded slightly. "I think I get it. Mom had to grow up fast since he hurt her and she didn't get to be a kid. But now she can." Allie explained in her own way. "That's right. So today mom went and supported other girls who are just like she was when she was hurt. I'm so proud of your mom for amazing she is doing since last year. Don't you agree?" He watched Allie nod before running over to her mom hugging her tight.
He watched Kim mouth thank you. She knew he was right this morning that Riley really wouldn't understand but she was happy he tried at least to explain it and let the kids know how proud he was. That was very important to her. "Okay my babies let's get ready to leave for the zoo okay?" She asked seeing both kids ready to head back to their rooms to change. Kim watched Adam help Riley down as he helped the kids up to change. Kim cleaned up the kitchen hearing lots of giggling up stairs. It made her smile knowing they were happy and loving life. Allie was the first back down the stairs. Adam was changing Riley but also allowing him to potty before they left. They both returned shortly seeing both Kim and Allie ready to head out again. "Well let's get going ladies." Adam led them out of the house back to the car. Adam drove again letting Kim rest in the passenger seat.
The kids cheered as they arrived at the zoo. Kim just laughed getting out to grab the stroller. Allie was able to walk most of the zoo but Riley would fight after a bit. He loved the zoo but the walking was too much after a while. And Adam wouldn't be able to carry both kids long term. So the stroller was necessary. They all headed inside to enjoy the mostly empty zoo. Both kids excited to see their favorite animals but also Kim knew there was a bench by the otter tank so she could sit and watch for a bit. Adam was just thrilled to be outside with his family. Hearing the kids laughing and seeing Kim glowing in the sun. He absolutely loved family time. He wished he had more of it growing up. He was shipped back and forth a lot and both parents worked full time. But they were at least at his sporting events. But the younger years he doesn't remember going to the zoo, the aquarium, amusement parks, even trips. He wanted to ensure his children would have the best memories growing up with both parents as present as possible.
He also made sure to take lots of photos with his family to document their adventures. Adam had made sure that he was also present when the photo books were updated so they were all involved in which pictures were used. He loved that Kim was working to keep him so involved with everything. And made sure he was included in the big moments. Watching him become overwhelmed with joy at each milestone was everything to the couple. The full family eventually made it to the petting zoo. Both kids loved petting animals and even feeding the animals. Kim sat watching her family taking lots of photos of them together. Adam was close to the kids mostly helping Riley pet the animals. He got nervous occasionally so Adam was there to assure him. The kids started to get hungry around the time the zoo was going to close so they washed the kids hands and headed back to the car.
"Should we just order take out on the way home?" Kim asked tired from the day. "Sounds like a great idea. We could both use an easy night." Adam knew he had plans for the night after the kids were asleep so take out was perfect. "Alright let me order something to pick up on the way." Kim watched Adam nod. Kim ordered as the kids chattered about the zoo. Adam was actively involved in the conversation listening to everything they said. They stopped only long enough to get the take out and headed home. Everyone hungry from the busy day. "Let's get everyone fed and then some pool time." The kids cheered. The headed inside the kids running to the table. Tiger was excited for his own dinner. He loved to eat. The whole settled around the table enjoying their dinner while Kim listened to one of her favorite sounds, Tiger eating. She loved listening to her cats eating. It sounded strange but she really did enjoyed it. It made her happy knowing he was getting the nutrients he needed to grow big and strong and live a very long life. That was the goal like always.
As dinner came to a close the family heads up stairs to get changed into bathing suits to play in the pool for a bit. It wasn't very deep at all but it was nice to have the cool water on a hot day. Kim finished first and headed out to fill it up a bit more. She watched the kids coming down with Adam close behind them. "Hey babies you ready to splash a bit?" Both kids ran over hopping into the pool. "I love that you got this. Was it expensive?" Adam asked. "Nope 40. And it's the extra large pool so we should both be able to lay in it. I really just wanted something we could enjoy till we dig out the space for kiddie pool. And if we ever go to a lake it can be used as a float. Which the kids would love." Kim shrugged a bit. "I think it's great. They are loving this. He stepped in feeling the padded part. "Oh this is nice on the deck." He settled in sitting with the kids splashing them some. "That's why I got it. And I didn't want to ruin the grass with a pool." Kim smiled joining them.
They both noticed just about 8 Riley started to fall asleep. Adam scooped him up wrapping him in a towel. Then settled him on his chest while Adam dried off. As the snoring started Adam carried him to bed. Taking his swim shorts off and putting his pjs on for the night. He headed back down to see Allie out of the pool wrapped in a towel talking to her dad. She was overly tired, twirling her hair crashed in a chair. "We are going to have to carry her for sure." Kim laughed watching her. "Oh yeah. She's done as soon as she's off the phone. She's holding on cause her dad's on the phone." Adam smiled watching her crashing. "Well I will wait here for you." Kim smiled knowing this was Adam's plan the whole time. "Sounds like a plan." He winked at her watching her eyes darken a bit again. Though Allie was still here so they had to remain calm.
"Um she fell asleep!" Kim laughed. "Omg she did." Adam headed over picking up the phone. "Hey man sorry she fell asleep already. Between the zoo and the kiddie pool she's crashed." Adam felt so bad for Eric who was probably freaking out a bit. "It's all good man. I'm happy to know she's asleep and that she had a great day. Take her to bed and I will see you guys tomorrow night. Take care man." Eric laughed knowing the dead weight Adam had to deal with. "Yeah thanks man. See ya tomorrow." Adam hung up picking Allie up and carrying her to bed. He changed her quickly before tucking her in for the night. She was out cold so he headed back to Kim looking in on Riley who was still asleep. He returned to the deck happy to see Kim enjoying the pool. "Looks like you are comfy." He smiled seeing her comfortable. "This is the best!" Kim laughed knowing he was watching her. She looked up seeing smiling wide. 'Well I'm glad. I really do think it's a great purchase." Adam got back in seeing he was able to almost fully lay down. He bent his knees so his feet were on the bottom of the pool.
"You are right this is pretty comfortable. We will definitely have to use this more frequently." He rolled to see Kim smiling at him. "How's our boy doing?" Adam asked holding her belly. "He's sleeping right now. He was very active all day so I'm okay with him taking a nap." Kim laughed a bit. "Well I'm happy he's giving you a break. You need it and he's needs rest too. So I'm happy with how this is going. We have a great life Kim." He kissed her head. "We really do. And thank you for trying to tell the kids about my day. You were right. They didn't get it. Well Allie did a bit. But you were right we should have a waited a bit longer. And maybe we tell them at different ages since there is a decent age gap with the kids." Kim rolled a bit to kiss Adam. "I didn't want to be right. I truly am proud of you but it's hard for adults to understand what happened to you. Let alone the kids. Hell my parents don't even know the full details but my dad knows your mom forced you to stay in those classes and that it was your instructor who raped you. He was shocked you still talk to her. I explained y'all did a ton of therapy together but it still needs work. But he was proud of you too." He saw her smile at that.
"Well it is tough but I survived. I want people in my position to be seen as survivors not victims. I think I want to try spending more time at the Support Group helping victims become survivors. Would you be okay with that?" She had thought about it a lot and wondered his view on it. "Well if this was last year I would have said no. But I think you are in a good place to try it. It might not work out because it might trigger a nightmare but I think you should try it. I think this is a good time to try it. So yes, do it." He watched her process what he said. "I think I am in a good place to try. So I will try in the coming weeks. I think it will be good." Kim smiled thinking about it. "You are doing great darling. Just keep rocking it." He kissed her so proud of her for trying to save the world, one person at a time. "Let's get you dried off and up to bed. You look exhausted." She laughed knowing she was exhausted and really did need the sleep. "Okay let's get out!" Kim started to get up to dry off.
He wrapped a towel around her then himself. They sat outside for a bit so they were t dripping wet when they headed in. Maybe 15 minutes later they were upstairs changing out of their wet suits and getting into bed. Kim wasn't concerned about washing the suits since there was no chlorine in the pool. She barely made it bed before fall asleep in Adams embrace. "This was such a great day." He whispered. "The best my love." Kim replied as she faded out. "Love you too darling." He kissed her head smiling as he heard her breaths even out. For a day that was so traumatic last year it was such an amazing day this year. Only better days to come for sure.
