(The Bus Depo)

As the sun disappeared from the horizon, a Shadow Mandibuzz flew around the depo, in search of an opening; carrying dozens of vials of R-Gas, wrapped around a firecracker. Inside, Dan and Durant make their rounds in the facility, they begin seeing black semi trucks and other black vehicles surrounding the depo. Dan ran down as Durant went to sound the alarm, he ran to the terminal and shouted from over the railing, catching everyone's attention. However, a firecracker from the window ceiling falls to the ground floor; some take cover and others try to get away as it goes off, clouding the inside with R-Gas in seconds. On the other side of the terminal, Lugia turns away to not sniff up the gas and quickly gets out from there. Noivern and other Pokémon use Defog and Hurricane to clear it out before any more Pokémon get caught in it. Noivern gets jumped on by Machamp, eyes glowing brightly as Machamp holds her by 2 arms, and with the other 2 uses Dynamic Punch, the ex-officer attempts to pull the Machamp to no avail. Noivern begins to drool as she faints, her body going completely limp. The officer, forced to watch as Machamp punches her Noivern to death, takes her tranquilizer and shoots him; Machamp turns to her, taking Noivern, and uses Vital Throw on the woman. Dan gets up to see the situation and starts running away from the gas, only to hear more firecrackers go off and see more gas creep in; he gets into a closet with a small window looking down into the street to see Team Plasma and Ex-RCPD getting caught outside by Team Cipher and Team Yell. He watches as the lucky ones get held at gunpoint by Cipher while the not-so-lucky ones are immediately killed by Yell. He ducks down away from the window, even locking it and the door too, he looks up to see Durant climbing down from a vent, clearly scared and shaking. While all of this is happening, Leo is taking Everett out, only to hide behind a bush; he keeps going away from the situation only for some members of Team Yell to come and stop him.

"Well, well, well. Look who's trying to run."

"Awe, he's carrying an Eevee on his shoulders. How cute."

They surround him and Leo lies Everett down, he readies herself to fight, hand hovering over his gun. But one of them grabbed his wrist, pushing him down and taking his gun away, they began beating him as he covered his face. He goes for his pokéball and releases Lapras, which she looks around and uses Ice Beam on them. "Lapras?" she asked, turning to Leo and Everett.

Leo: "It's a long story. Now come on, let's get out of here."

He said as he took Everett and climbed onto Lapras' shell before she went to a stream of water and swam away.

While eating, Eclipsa and Francisco get an alert on their phones, the alert seems to warn them of a gas leak from the bus depo and suggests an immediate evacuation of the business center. They look out the window to see smoke down the street, Eclipsa immediately goes to call Leo to make sure he's ok.

Eclipsa: "What happened?"

Leo: "We've been attacked. Where are you at?"

Eclipsa: "Down the street, apparently they sent out an alert to evacuate the area."

Leo: "In that case, blend in with the crowd."

Eclipsa: "That should be easy. The 2 Charizards already left."

Leo: "Where to?"

Eclipsa: "Home, I'll text you the address."

"Goodra?"

Francisco: "Yeah, what about N?"

Eclipsa: "Yeah, they're going to be headed for a trap."

Leo: "How are we supposed to warn them?"

Eclipsa looks out the window again, to see small groups of people walking away from the depo; she looks down at her phone again, the alert on her phone still blinking. She lights up as an idea comes to mind.

Eclipsa: "Leo, go get those Charizards and call me once you find them. Then go over to the old GNN building."

Leo: "Alright then, I'll call you back."

She hangs up and places Snivy on her shoulder before quickly getting out, Francisco and Goodra follow as she waves for a Cab.

Francisco: "What's the plan?"

Eclipsa: "We're going to expose them for what they did."

Grace hastily pulls up to the entrance, barely bothering to park properly before she and Jacob leap out of the car and sprint towards the building's entrance. Jacob instinctively reaches for his gun, but Grace's hand gently restrains him, urging caution.

Grace: "Hold off until we reach Simon's office."

Jacob: "He'll recognize me. Besides, N might need backup."

Grace: "Fine. Do what you must, but return to the car as soon as possible."

With a shared understanding, they part ways; Eva and Grace ascend in the elevator while Jacob ventures down the corridor, each on their path toward their objective.

(The Address)

In a quiet neighborhood, a series of apartments lined up with each other by rows, each having a theme for a certain type. Max looks over to a fountain, remembering when he was a Charmander that he would watch the Water-type Pokémon play around it; the next building over was for Flying-type as there are some trampolines and fake telephone lines around it. Max felt a slight joy being in the place he used to live but it quickly dissipated when getting to the Fire-type one, wooden boards replaced some of the windows, and half the Apartment was covered in burn marks. Sensing his distress, Velvet gently holds Max's hand to give him comfort; the 2 continue, taking the staircase up and down a walkway, passing the already torn police tape along the way. They get to the address to find the front door broken down, floors riddled with trash and debris, walls charred, and dust filling the air. Max and Velvet use their tails to light the way as it gets dark outside; Max notices a flicker on the ground, looking down to see the item frame that is reflecting his tail. He picks it up, takes the picture in it out, and sees that it's of a family, the man in it he recognizes as his human partner from long ago. He looks closely at it, realizing that this was taken in Neon Town. Leo arrived at the apartment complex, the evening air crisp around him as he tethered Lapras nearby, opting to venture alone into the labyrinth of memories. Following the well-trodden path, he caught sight of Velvet standing sentinel outside the designated apartment. Her gaze met his before Max emerged, a flicker of emotion dancing in his eyes as he clutched the picture with a mixture of apprehension and determination.

Leo: "So this is where you're from?"

Max nodded, curiosity piqued by Leo being here. "Charizard?" Max said to him.

Leo: "We might need your help, again. We're going to GNN."

As the group approaches the imposing facade of the news station, a sense of anticipation hangs in the air like a thick fog. Eclipsa, usually confident and composed, betrays a hint of apprehension, her eyes darting nervously towards the entrance. Francisco, ever perceptive, senses her unease and offers a comforting gesture, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

Francisco: "What's wrong?"

Eclipsa: "It's been a while since I entered here."

"Snivy"

Eclipsa: "Alright, let's do this. Is everyone ready?"

Leo: "I am."

"Charizard." Both Max and Velvet said, Goodra simply nodded. "Eevee." Everett said as he used a paw to adjust the necklace.

Leo: "Are you sure little guy? You went through quite a lot."

"Eevee." He shakes his head.

Eclipsa: "Just be careful in there, ok."

As Eclipsa's group enters, Leo's group goes over to an emergency exit, and Everett uses the necklace to evolve into Jolteon. Using Eerie Impulse, he makes sure that the alarm doesn't go off as Max uses Dragon Claw to break the lock. While inside the lobby, Francisco and Goodra walk over to the reception desk while Eclipsa and Snivy wait for their signal. Francisco hands the woman on the other side a piece of paper as Goodra uses Muddy Water making the floor slippery; before the Receptionist can ask if they have an appointment, a Lopunny pushing a blue recycling bin slips and falls behind them; everyone in the room turns to the Lopunny then to Goodra. Francisco helps Lopunny up while taking the keycard from him and passing it to Snivy; Eclipsa and Snivy sneak by and make their way to the elevators. Once there, a familiar figure stops her in the hallway.

Tucker: "Eclipsa, what are you doing here?"

Eclipsa: "Hi, Tucker, I thought they fired you."

Tucker: "PNN did, but a few months later, GNN decided to hire me for the computer systems."

Eclipsa: "Well, do you by chance know if Howard Clifford's announcement systems still exist?"

Tucker: "Barely, the computers are still there but they've been re-purpose to calculate and fix signal interference during storms."

Eclipsa: "So it can still broadcast live throughout the city if anyone wants to."

Tucker: "Is there something going on? Because last time, you left me on a ferry 5 years ago and the look you had, you're showing right now."

Eclipsa: "Just show me where those systems are, please."

Tucker: "Whatever it is, I'll help, just tell me along the way."

Eclipsa: "Good. Snivy, go ahead and find that staircase, and let the others in."

"Snivy" She said, taking the keycard with her.

(Team Rocket Laboratories)

In the lobby of the tower, both Team Rocket and Cipher gathered in hiding, with some waiting from the upper levels, guns pointed downwards as a double-deck bus drove straight through the glass entrance and into the escalators. Those on the first and second floor begin to fire at the bus windows, Meowscarada uses Grassy Terrain to cover the bus and between the escalators for protection. As they leave, one of them gets shot from above before Mismagius uses Phantom Force to protect them.

Zeek: "N, we're surrounded."

N: "Then we just have to push forward until we get to the ones in charge. Besides, we now have a way to free the Shadow Pokémon here."

As they nodded in agreement, Volcarona used Fire Blast to clear the way allowing them to advance. Meanwhile, in the control room, Simon gets summoned to his office with Lucario following; Mienshao and Lawrence watch as Giovanni gives orders to those downstairs. Then a woman wearing black comes and approaches him.

"Your ride is ready sir."

Giovanni: "Good, Lawrence, Mienshao, are all the Shadow Pokémon secured?"

Mienshao: "Yes, in fact we made sure that they are as far away from Team Plasma as possible."

Giovanni: "Good, I trust that you 2 will be able to finish the job."

Lawrence: "You can count on us."

Mienshao: "But what about N? He could still be useful."

Giovanni: "If all else should fail, then at least make sure he's dead, a person like him is dangerous to us. And that better be the Mienshao inside asking that question."

Mienshao: "My apologies, Giovanni."

Giovanni: "See you all in the Kanto region."

As Francisco and Goodra apologize for the inconvenience, a group of 3 individuals wearing orange walks past them, showing their badges along the way; recognizing them as Team Flare, Francisco sends a text to Eclipsa to warn her. Upstairs, a segment of the news just finished and Tucker entered the room, whistling to get everyone's attention.

Tucker: "Ok everyone, I need you all to leave the room immediately."

"Why, what's going on?" Tucker gets surrounded by everyone asking questions, seeing this, Eclipsa simply picks up a pokéball and holds it up in the air.

Eclipsa: "HEY! I have a Weezing in here ready to stink up the place with Poison Gas and I'm not afraid to use him. NOW OUT! All of you."

Everyone quickly leaves the room except for Excadrill who just stared at her unafraid.

Eclipsa: "I'll do it I swear."

Tucker: "Poison Gas doesn't work on Steel Types."

Eclipsa: "Well…"

Before she said anything, the others walked in; seeing the 2 Charizards, Excadrill followed the rest to the hallway. Eclipsa then gives the pokéball to Tucker, hugging him before getting to the computers.

Eclipsa: "Thanks, I might be in trouble for this so I don't want you involved."

Tucker: "You're welcome, I'll be listening."

As he leaves, Leo looks over with curiosity.

Leo: "Who was he?"

Eclipsa: "My old cameraman back in the day. Anyway Tucker will be going around getting people away from here, apparently, Team Flare are here, but we got our own orange pair to take care of them"

"Char." Max said with a grind.

Eclipsa: "Leo, I need you to take this USB and go to the top floor, you'll find a computer there run by a porygon2, Tucker already told it about our situation."

Leo: "Good, will you be ok down here?"

Eclipsa: "I'll be fine, plus I got Snivy here with me."

Leo: "Just making sure."

Putting the USB in his pocket, he runs off and Snivy uses her vines to tie the door handles shut, Eclipsa sets up a camera and connects it to her laptop. Meanwhile, Team Flare steps out of the elevator into the empty office where Max, Velvet, and Everett stand in the way. The Team stretched out their arm with a pokéball in hand and summoned Baxcalibur, Shelgon, and Froslass. Froslass uses Ice Shard on them, Velvet dodges to the side, Everett leaps, and Max ducks, getting cut on the shoulder. Baxcalibur lunges towards Max, ready to use Dragon Claw but Max Substitute. Everett uses Thunder Wave on Froslass, temporarily paralyzing her. Shelgon uses Dragon Rush, running through the cubicles towards Velvet; however, she uses Flamethrower in his direction, making Shelgon turn to avoid it. Everett then quickly changes into a Glaceon and uses Icy Wind to take out the fire. Max and Velvet exchanged glances, realizing that some of their Fire-type moves would put them all in more danger. With Fire Fang, Max bites hard on Baxcalibur's arm, burning him there. Froslass gets up and uses Shadow Ball at him, but Max pulls Baxcalibur's arm and makes him take the hit. Shelgon turns and uses Body Slam and pushes Velvet to a wall, forcing her to use Endure. Everett uses Ice Shard, hitting Shelgon's shell to no effect; Velvet grabs the edge of the shell, into Shelgon's face and pulls him away, freeing herself in the process. Meanwhile, Team Flare goes around to the studio doors and attempts to open it, Snivy on the other side tying more vines to it. Upstairs, Leo gets to the computer, reminiscing about his time with Martin.

"Porygon" Porygon2 said as it introduced itself.

Leo: "Hey there little guy."

"Stop what you're doing and put your hands up."

Giving the USB to porygon2, Leo turns to see a Flare member standing there, with a knife in hand standing next to a Hitmonchan. However, he notices Francisco and Goodra walking behind them, and he looks down and smiles a bit.

"Why are you smiling?"

Leo: "Listen, I had a rough few hours, you are not special."

"And how will you get out of this one?"

Leo: "I have my tricks."

Then Goodra uses Poison Tail on Hitmonchan, causing him to flinch. Francisco on the other hand tries to restrain the member but fails when he gets punched in the face. Francisco falls and the member turns to him, Leo shoots the member in the arms.

Leo: "My turn, you 2 go over to that wall over there, and don't give me a reason to shoot you."

Francisco and Goodra get behind Leo as Hitmonchan and the Flare member remain on the floor.

In Simon's office, Grace waits on the couch, looking out the window to admire the nightlights of the city. Simon and Lucario walk in, already Lucario prepares refreshments as Simon sits across from Grace.

Simon: "Hello Grace, where is your Eevee at?"

Grace: "She's on her way."

Simon: "Alright, so, what are you doing here?"

Grace: "I was trying to figure out why Lucario is the only Pokémon that isn't controlled by a ditto. Then it hit me, you still believe in Project Transfer, don't you?"

Simon: "Lucario, leave us and guard the door."

Lucario tries to leave but Eva in Espeon form, uses her psychic ability to lock the door and moves something behind to keep it shut.

Grace: "Have you told him?"

Simon: "I don't know what you mean."

"Lucario?"

Simon: "It is none of your concern Lucario."

Grace: "I think it should. Lucario, do you remember where you were during the Incident."

Lucario subtly shakes his head no, intrigued by where the conversation is headed.

Simon: "Lucario, I told you that you sniff up the gas and become aggressive."

"Lucario."

Simon: "I don't know why you don't remember it, I was there when it happened."

Grace: "And what about your mind going into his?"

Simon: "That never happened."

Grace: "How? Every person whose Pokémon got affected had their mind transferred."

Simon: "Lucario, use Vacuum Wave."

Suddenly the screens in the room start to display static before switching to an emergency broadcast, with Eclipsa on screen.

Across the city, every screen shows the emergency broadcast while at the same time, alerts go to every phone, with Team Rocket's documents leaked to everyone.

Eclipsa: "Hey, I'm Eclipsa, you probably don't remember me because I've been gone for 5 years. An emergency alert system is being put out to show you something…horrific. 5 years ago, Howard Clifford initiated one of the worst disasters in history, killing thousands of people and their Pokémons. But that's only part of the story; Team Rocket had us believe that they were helping us rebuild after the incident when they were the ones that caused it. They used every tactic possible to make sure that every evidence pointing to them was done away with, making themselves seem like the good guys."

In the office, Baxcalibur, Shelgon, and Froslass stopped fighting and they turned to their human companions. Team Flare stares back to see them, a mixture of betrayal and rage in their eyes; they start running towards the nearest exit as the 3 Pokémon chase after them. Max, Everett, and Velvet then got up to hug; Max flinched from the cut on his arm, which Velvet helped by licking the cut.

They watch on the screen as she explains this, Lucario turns to face Simon. His internal conflict goes off as he thinks about Eclipsa's words, before looking down to see Simon's phone displaying the documents.

Simon: "Lucario, what are you waiting for?"

Grace: "Know what I think, you wanted to take Lucario's body for yourself, killing him in the process. But because the project failed, you made sure to hide your intentions from him so that he doesn't run away."

Simon then pulled out his gun at Grace and fired, the bullet was stopped mid-air by Eva using Future Sight.

"Lucario?" He said, holding up Simon's phone. Simon's expression turns 180 to address him in a calm, comforting manner.

Simon: "I don't want to kill you, you're my first Pokémon. You and I are best friends, right?"

"Lucario!" He uses Cross Chop to disarm Simon, causing him to grasp his hand in pain as the gun falls to the floor.

Simon: "OU! Lucario, I swear…"

Simon backs up to a wall and Lucario simply grabs him by the neck, pinning him there as he struggles. "Espeon!" Shouted Eva with concern.

Grace: "Lucario, you don't have to do this."

"Lucario."

Simon: "Listen please, I promise I won't take over your body, I'll pick a different Pokémon."

"Lu." Lucario said before using Bullet Punch to kill Simon in a single strike. Grace gets up and approaches him with caution, Lucario breaks down and cries, holding Simon in his arms.

Grace: "Do you know where they are hiding the Shadow Pokémon? if you don't mind me asking."

"Lucario, Lucario."

"Espeon?" Asked Eva and Lucario shook his head no, Eva and Grace left the room giving him space and shutting the door behind them. Lucario turns to Simon's phone again, apprehensively picking it up, and reads through the documents that were kept from him. In the control room, panic spreads throughout the room, Mienshao starts twitching in fear, slowly backing away before running.

Lawrence: "Mienshao where are you going?"

"Mienshao." He said repeatedly as he left. Just then, the computers started to report on groups forming outside.

Lawrence: "What's going on? Who are they?"

"Unidentified ma'am."

"Looking through the CCTV, they appear to just be people."

Lawrence: "Just people?"

"Yes."

Meanwhile, in the lobby, Team Rocket and Cipher on the bottom floor start making their way up, N and his crew look around only to see a crowd forming followed by the breaking of glass entrances by Flying-type Pokémon, all using Air Slash.

"Fall back." said the leader of the Cipher group, moving to the floors above but N and his group pursued them. Meowscarada uses Flower Trick on one of them, allowing N to catch up and grab him, putting a gun behind the guy's back.

N: "Show us where you're keeping the Shadow Pokémon."

The man complied and N gestured to the group to follow him. Meanwhile, a helicopter lands on the rooftop as Mienshao was about to take escape, only to be met with Jacob standing between him. Mienshao grows anxious as he looks over to his pilot who is knocked out cold and Jacob draws his gun.

Mienshao: "I-I thought you were dead."

Jacob: "It's over Mienshao, this ends now."

Mienshao: "You would kill this Mienshao just to stop me?"

Jacob: "If I have to."

Mienshao: "You aren't that type of man. Everyone in the Pokémon Inspection Agency is too weak to make that choice."

Jacob: "It's also not our job to decide who lives and who dies. But you did transfer your mind into an innocent Pokémon and we will find a way to separate you 2."

Mienshao: "That'll kill me."

Jacob: "Not my problem."

Jacob then throws a PIA pokéball at Mienshao, catching him with ease, it shakes a few times before calming. Walking over, he picks it up and carefully places it in a case; He then places a few coins next to some of the Team Rocket members, before taking the helicopter out of there. On the lower levels, N and his group continue to make progress upstairs, stopping by the server room. The group splits up, with N's group going up and Zeek along with Meowscarada and a few others entering the room and barricading the door as one of them releases a Porygon-Z from a pokéball, the Porygon-Z looks around and then to its partner.

"Alright Z, cause some chaos and make it hurt."

The lights of the servers flicker as Porygon-Z transfers into the system; in the control room, sparks fly as glitches start to spread quickly. As some start to leave, Lawrence realizes that she needs to get out of there, taking her security and quietly exits the room. Meanwhile, Team Cipher starts to bang on the door to the server room and Zeek tells the others to leave. Meowscarada refuses but Zeek insists, telling her that he'll be behind them. The doors burst open and they enter, just as Meowscarada leaves, a glass shield goes down, locking Zeek in. Meowscarada uses Hone Claws and Night Slash, not even putting a hair-sized scratch on the glass; Zeek puts his hand on the glass, telling them to go but Meowscarada doesn't want to. Mismagius and Volcarona both pull Meowscarada away and out of view as she becomes upset. Zeek checks his gun to see he only has a few shots left, he takes cover behind a rack of humming computers, ducking down to the floor as the group split on each side of the room, checking row after row. Zeek moves some things off a rack then cuts some wires to, making a minefield of static electricity. One of the Cipher members turns to see him, Zeek immediately fires at the sprinkler above; they then fire at Zeek, the sound vibrations cause internal injury and he falls to the water. Once the water meets the wires, everyone in the room gets electrocuted, killing them all in seconds. The gun fire and electricity echoes down the hall to Meowscarada, who runs to catch up despite glancing back in hopes of him coming. Meanwhile, Eva, in Sylveon form, leads the way with Grace, reaching a pair of doors that were locked. They attempt to open it but the doors refuse to budge, Eva steps back and is about to use a move before N and 3 others get there with his hostage.

Grace: "How did you…"

N: "This guy helped us find a way around."

He then directs the hostage to unlock the door, with the sound of a click it opens to reveal a large room of Shadow Pokémon, all turned to them and N and the other 3 fired the prototypes; the air fills with the stuff, curing every Pokémon there. However, some of the Shadow Ditto's seeps through vents and small crevasses in the floor and wall, escaping their demise. Those left in the control room watch as their Pokémon army gets cured, prompting all to evacuate. Meanwhile, as Lawrence makes a daring escape to the rooftop, she begins to worry as her security finds the pilots on the ground, unconscious but breathing. They frantically look around for another way out but are met with some of the now cured Pokémon. She orders the group to fire and the Pokémon around them use Protect, Endure, or any other defensive move. One by one, her security was defenseless against them, causing her to run towards the edge in fear; a Dubwool followed Lawrence, cornering her to the edge. As Lawrence fumbles for her gun, Dubwool uses Headbutt and pushes her off to her death.

On the roof of the GNN building, the group watches as smoke rises from the bottom of Team Rocket Laboratories; irens ring through the streets, going towards the tower.

Francisco: "What now?"

Eclipsa: "No idea."

Leo: "You should go into hiding."

Eclipsa: "Why?"

Leo: "Team Rocket is suffering now, but they're going to fight back. You exposed them, which makes you most wanted."

Eclipsa: "But, where would I hide too?"

"Charizard." Max said, showing the picture to her with slight enthusiasm. As Eclipsa inspects the picture, she turns it over to see the name of the hotel where it's taken from.

Eclipsa: "What happened over there?"

Leo: "The apartment building was destroyed by fire, completely abandoned. But, there's a chance that they survived and moved after the Incident."

Eclipsa: "You coming with us Francisco?"

Francisco: "Well, I have a big family back in Lumiose City. They are probably going to be worried about me and Goodra."

Eclipsa: "Question is, how do we get there?"

Leo's phone vibrates, prompting him to check his phone to see some texts from Ampharos. His excitement was noticeable with the sudden change in his demeanor.

Francisco: "Who was it?"

Leo: "It's Ampharos, he went missing the moment Martin was murdered. He texted me saying that he saw you on TV, he's offering a safe place to go to for the time being."

Eclipsa: "Can't wait to see the place, come on."

The group starts leaving except for Everett who continues watching the flames of Team Rocket Laboratories. Velvet kneels to the Eevee, sensing his hesitation. "Charizard?" she asked him, which seemed to snap him out of it. Everett simply turned and caught up with the rest and Velvet followed, with concern for him.

As the place gets raided by the city, Lucario walks through the halls, unsure of where to go with Simon's blood on his paws still; Meowscarada's group was getting out of there when she notices him being lost. "Meowscarada." She walked to him but he turned away, she placed a paw on his shoulder, noticing the blood stain in his fur. "Meow?" Lucario struggles to contain his tears; not wanting to leave him here, she offers her paw to him. "Meowscarada." She said with a sense of compassion in her voice. Not having any other options at his disposal, Lucario takes her paw, shaking his and Meowscarada runs, pulling him to the exit with the others. Downstairs, Grace and Eva search for Jacob but gives up on finding him, once in the car, she calls him, finally getting an answer.

Jacob: "Hello."

Grace: "Where are you?"

Jacob: "I'm currently in a helicopter, headed out. I managed to get Mienshao as a prisoner."

Grace: "Ok, where are you going?"

Jacob: "Don't worry about it-"

Grace: "Don't do this, tell me where are you going?"

Jacob: "Sorry, I think we're breaking up."

Grace: "Jacob, don't you dare hang up."
