Chapter 20: Thomas Blake AKA Catman
I used this character from DCU. He was not used in the Arrowverse at all (as far as I know). Catman is the closest to crack that the DCU could come. The man was a running joke. I continued his crack trend in my AU.

ORIGIN:
Thomas Blake was born and raised in Gotham. He was from a middle-income family. He was a moderate thief, but his passion was in hunting. He worked in the illegal animal trade and made frequent trips to Africa to collect more inventory and to hunt illegally.
On one of his many trips to Africa, Blake encountered the Akie tribe in the mountainous region of Tanzania. He was hunting a panther and killed it near the village. The Akie praised him for his skill and for killing the animal that was devastating the livestock of the village. The tribe welcomed him and showed him their sacred cloak, the Vazi la Bahatila la Kapotoka. The Lucky Mantle of Deflection. The cloak was a gift from their gods. It was meant to provide protection and luck to the Akie tribe. This luck was what the Akie cited as to why Blake arrived to kill the panther when he did.
As reward for their generous nature, Thomas Blake stole their sacred cloak. He didn't care what became of the village after he left. He had no intention of every returning to that part of Tanzania, but the cloak was useful to him. He tailored it into a shirt and a short cape. Then he used it to facilitate his thefts in Gotham. He was heartened to see that even Batman was affected by the cloak's magical aura. Blake later spread his thefts to other parts of the US and Europe.
Once Blake had stolen enough, he purchased a plantation in Arusha, Tanzania. It was the closest city to the Serengeti National Park. This would enable him to indulge in his hobby of hunting and animal trafficking using the Park as one of his sources.
Because of his claustrophobia and aquaphobia, Blake decided to take the moniker of Catman for his thefts. He enhanced his martial arts skill and learned to use the claws to complete the image of a cat.

MOTIVATION:
Blake was primarily motivated by greed. He never had enough in Gotham and often felt that he had to go to illegal means when he wanted to gain in prosperity. He had a passion for hunting and developed his senses and tracking to aid in that endeavor. He would use his skills to acquire animals to traffic. Once he acquired the cloak, he became lazy. He didn't feel the need to put himself out, when the cloak ensured he was successful.

PERSONALITY:
Blake had a charismatic personality. He was handsome and tall with blonde hair and green eyes. Cat eyes, but he was lazy and preferred to avoid real work.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
Equipment: Claws (metal claws worn on hands-2 inches)
Vasi la Bahatila la Kapotoka (Lucky Mantle of Deception): Enhances senses, enhances reflexes, allows resurrection of natural death if worn, extremely enhances luck (increased luck to individual, decreases luck of opposition)
Skills: Acrobatics (Skilled), Martial arts (advanced), tracking (mastered), Claws (mastered)
Abilities: Senses (highly developed, cloak enhanced), Reflexes (highly developed, cloak enhanced)

NOTES:
In Arrowverse fashion, I made AU!Catman a bit darker than his DCU counterpart. While DCU!Catman is fun crack to DCU!Batman serious, I didn't need Batman for this one. AU!Catman just needed to lose his cloak to fall from grace. AU!Catman was more into hunting and animal trafficking than DCU!Catman. At least, I think he was. Regardless, he was fun to write as crack.
