Chapter 26: Bruce Wayne AKA Batman
Where do I even start? Okay, for my AU, I barely touched on the character of Batman or Bruce Wayne. I have read Batman my whole life. I have more head canon than exists as canon in the Arrowverse. DCU has LARGELY kept Batman in one method, but they have authorized spin-offs that make the DCU!Batman canon cloudy. Not to mention the Multiverse versions of Batman… and the DCU reboots of Batman… Here is my finger dip into the Batman canon. Assume that this is all my head canon.
I ONLY OUTLINED THE BARE MINIMUM NEEDED TO FLESH OUT MY STORY. Yes, I know there is so much more. Mea culpa. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.

ORIGIN:
Bruce Wayne was born in Gotham to the wealthy family of the Gotham Waynes. He was the son of a physician, Dr. Thomas Wayne, and his socialite wife, Martha Kane Wayne. At the age of eight, Bruce watched his parents killed in a street mugging. This event changed his life.
Bruce spend his youth learning everything he could about crime and detection. He bent his massive intellect towards one goal. Eliminate crime in Gotham. He mastered methods of detection and science. He mastered escape practices and illusion. He mastered every form of martial art he learn.
But he refused to take a life. His father was a physician. He swore a Hippocratic oath to do no harm. To honor his father, Bruce swore to never take a life in his battle against crime.
Bruce debuted as Batman in Gotham. He learned that criminals were harder to eliminate than he thought. His battle becomes a war. He found allies in Alfred Pennyworth, Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Jim and Barbara Gordon.
At the time of my AU, Batman has been operating in Gotham for over 10 years. Tim Drake is the current Robin. Tim's parents were vacationing in Haiti when they were kidnapped. Bruce left Tim in Gotham to stop Obeah Man and rescue the Drakes.

MOTIVATION:
Bruce's primary motivation was to ensure that no other child went thought the pain of losing their parents like he did. When he focused his mind on a task, he could become stubborn and set in his ways. He has powerful charisma. He has an iron will. He has a drive and determination to see success despite all the limiting factors. He does better if he is the underdog.

PERSONALITY:
Bruce: The face that Bruce shows the world is that of a carefree pretentious buffoon with no care in the world. Someone without much intellect and too much money to spend. This is his mask.
Batman: The face that Bruce shows the world as Batman was that of a cold, hard, calculating genius with massive control issues. Bruce used his drive to ensure that he and his apprentices have the best training and are prepared for every contingency.

NOTES:
I didn't like Arrowverse!Batman. The Multiverse version of Batman were very bad… especially the COIE version. I know… intellectually… that he eventually showed up on Batwoman, but I didn't care. There are so many versions of Batman out there that I didn't need one more variation mixing into my head canon. It's a confusing place already. I KNOW that you have your own Head Canon!Batman. I tried to stick to the basics and avoid ranting. [I think I failed on the ranting part]. If this doesn't seem like enough… well… mea culpa.
