After a very successful heart surgery this morning, with her patient resting in the recovery room, Elena spent the next few hours in her office typing up her reports before she had to get ready for her next surgery, which is this afternoon. While Elena was typing away at her computer, she suddenly heard her stomach growling. Checking the time on her phone, Elena noticed that it was already past one, which meant it was lunchtime already, and according to her stomach, Elena was already starving, which made sense since the only thing Elena had this morning was coffee. She had been in a hurry and totally skipped breakfast.

Pulling her wallet out of her purse, she took out a twenty-dollar bill before putting her wallet back in. She then walked out of her office, heading towards the elevator and down to the hospital cafeteria.

After Elena paid for her lunch, which was a sub sandwich with a bag of chips and a bottle of water, she walked through the cafeteria. Elena spotted Joesette and Bonnie Bennett, another fellow doctor, sitting at one of the tables. "Hey, guys," she greeted them as she sat down to join them for lunch.

"How did the surgery go?" Bonnie asked as soon as Elena sat down.

"It was successful. My patient is now resting with a brand new heart beating inside of her." Elena answered with a smile, as she was very proud of herself and satisfied that her surgery had been a success. Elena just hoped her next surgery would be as successful.

"That's great. Good job, Dr. Gilbert," Joesette said, as she was very proud of her friend and colleague.

"Thank you, Dr. Laughin," Elena said with a chuckle as she took a bite of her sandwich and then took a drink of water.

"Hey, do you think you and Matt can still come over for dinner tonight?" Bonnie asked. Last week, Bonnie invited Elena and Matt, along with Bella, over for dinner with her and Enzo, and their daughter Sophia.

Elena shrugged her shoulders a little. "I don't know. I mean, I told Matt about it this morning. But he said it all depends on if he can actually get off early tonight." Elena would love to join dinner with her friends tonight, but that all depends on Matt.

"Well, maybe you and Bella could just come if Matt can't get off work." Bonnie suggested as she shrugged her shoulders slightly.

Elena nodded her head. "Yeah, maybe." She said as she suddenly heard her pager going off. Pulling out her pager from her pocket, she noticed that it was the Admissionator paging her. "That's odd." She said, a little confused about why the hospital admissionator is paging her.

"What?" Joesette asked.

"Mikelson is paging me into his office. I gotta go, guys." Elena said as she got up from the table, threw away the rest of her lunch and her empty water bottle, and walked out of the Cafeteria heading back up towards the Admission Office.

Elijah was in his office going through reports that each doctor had sent him. All reports but for Dr. Gilbert's, which should have been done a few hours ago. Hearing a knock coming from his office door, Elijah kept his eyes on his screen. "Come in." He called out.

"You wanted to see me?" Elena asked as she walked into Elijah's office and closed the door behind her.

"Where's your report?" Elijah asked as he looked up from his computer.

"What?" Elena asked, a little confused.

" Where is your report on your heart surgery from this morning?" Elijah asked again.

Elena nods her head. "I'm still working on it, actually, and I should be done with it soon."

"You should've had it done already. What's the hold up, Dr. Gilbert?" Elijah asked, as he was really losing his patience with her. Dr. Gilbert is one of his best Neoauteroal Surgeons. The problem is that she could never do anything on time, except that she has been coming to work on time. So he'll give her that.

Elena sighs as she nods her head. "I know and I'm sorry. Surgery this morning ran a little late, and then my stomach started to growl, so I had to get something to eat."

" Well, as far as excuses go, that sounds like a very solid one. Just make sure that you have the report done and in my email before your next surgery. You may go." Elijah said as he dismissed her from his office.

"Thank you, sir," Elena said as she turned around and walked out of Elijah's office, heading back to her office to finish her report before starting her next surgery.

Following Damon into what looked like an old abandoned building, Stefan looked around. He could clearly see why the last owner left it the way it was. When Damon came back from the bank after getting his loan from Lexi, he had mentioned that he found a place for his new bar. Stefan just didn't expect it to be this place, though.

"So, what do you think?" Damon asked Stefan as he stretched his arms out. "This is going to be my new bar," Damon said with a smirk.

" Well, it's kinda old and it definitely needs a lot of work. Are you sure you want this to be your new bar?" Stefan asked as he wanted to make sure that this is exactly what Damon wants.

Damon dropped his hands to his sides as he shrugged his shoulders. "I know that it doesn't look much. But with the right contractors, I am sure I can get this place up and running in a few weeks. Just gotta have faith, little brother."

" Oh I got faith Damon. I just don't understand why you want to rent this building."

" This place has potential, and besides my last bar in New Orleans was kinda of a dump compared to this place." Damon's bar in New Orleans was in a very old building. In the beginning the bar was going great. Damon had a lot of paid customers coming through his bar and he was making good money. But after awhile people sorta stopped coming around and Damon couldn't pay for the rent anymore. So he had to shut down.

Stefan shrugged his shoulders as he nodded his head. "All I gotta say is good luck, and hopefully it will all work out for you." Personally, Stefan could see this place crumbling down. But if anyone could actually turn this place around and make it a success, it would be Damon.

"Well, thank you, Stefan," Damon said with a chuckle.

"Now, do you think you can get me Elena's address?"

Stefan exhales heavily as he snorts a little. "Yeah... I honestly don't think it's a good idea for you to see Elena right now. It's been five years since you walked away from her without any real explanation, and Elena has moved on Damon. Things have changed."

Damon sighed exasperatedly, rolling his eyes. "I know that it's been five years, Stefan, and I know that she moved on. I mean, I'm not an idiot." He said, scrunching up his face.

"So, why do you want to set yourself up for a huge disappointment?"

" I just need to talk to her, Stefan, and let her know that I apologize for leaving the way I did."

"Are you sure that's the only reason why you need her address?" Stefan asked, as he has a feeling there's more to it.

Damon shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah, I mean, what other reason would I have for wanting her address?"

"Come on, Damon. I know you, and I know you're not just going over there to apologize. You want Elena back, don't you?"

"Maybe I do. I mean, is it so wrong of me to want her back?" Damon asked, as he didn't see what the big deal was.

"Look, Damon, I get that you want Elena back. But like I said, things have changed, and she has moved on with her life. I don't think she needs you to come in and screw that up for her." Stefan said as he tried to explain to Damon that seeing Elena wasn't a good idea. He thought of bringing up his daughter but decided to leave that part out.

" I love her, Stefan, and I know that she loves me too. Even though she's too stubborn to admit it."

Stefan sighed as he ran his hands down his face. "Elena will kill me if she ever finds out that I was the one who gave you her address." Stefan said as he quickly scribbled down her home address and handed it to Damon.

Taking the piece of paper with Elena's address on it, Damon nods his head as he tucks it in his pocket. "Thanks, brother, and don't worry. She won't know that it was you." Damon knows he's probably taking a huge risk by seeing Elena like this, but he doesn't care. He needs to see her and soon.
