Tamsin and Bo are back at The Dal. On the counter, drinks are laid out. The Wanderer song is playing in the background and Tamsin shuts it off with a frown.
"So, didn't think I would be at The Dal. I was thinking pillars for some reason," says Bo, frowning.
"Well, I don't know about you but I could use a drink," says Tamsin, drinking one. She hands Bo one.
"Why not," says Bo, doing the same. "So, what happened back there?"
"What do you mean?" asks Tamsin.
"You know what I mean Tamsin. And what's with this whole offering to be my Hand," asks Bo. Tamsin shrugs her shoulders. "You're confusing me."
"Should I even ask why?" asks Tamsin, with a sigh, leaning against the bar counter.
"Should you even have to ask?"
"What are you getting at?" says Tamsin, drinking more beer. "I'm supposed to be a mind reader now?"
"Okay," says Bo, sitting on a bar stool next to Tamsin. "Why are you here Tamsin? Why did you volunteer?" Bo thinks about more things. "And why do you keep helping me when you don't have to? With Dyson, and Kenzi, and Brazenwood?" She pauses. "The thing at Lauren's? I just want a clear answer."
Tamsin takes a deep breath. "Look Bo, I know how you feel." Bo looks at her oddly. Then Tamsin shakes her head. "I mean what I meant to say is that I can understand where you are coming from. But the answer is, I don't know." Tamsin shakes her head again, and shrugs. "You know some things just can't be explained. And no one really knows why things happen the way they do," explains Tamsin, genuinely.
Bo is unsure of Tamsin's explanation. She wanted something more concrete. "Just forget I even mentioned anything. It's not like this is the best time or place right?" Bo thinks about how it's never a good time or place anyway. So why even bother now.
Tamsin sits her glass down and looks Bo in her eyes. Bo really wants to look away, but doesn't perhaps out of curiosity. "I know that we had a lot of differences since I returned to the force, and still do. And I don't really understand a lot of things myself." Tamsin frowns. "And I don't understand your decisions, especially when you don't think but react which annoys the hell out of me." Tamsin sighs. "But the things that you do, I should say, the will that you have when you're out there trying to be all helpful and shit, risking your life for only who knows why…But when the chaos is finally over, that you at times tend to make even worse, I think that…I mean someone else would, you know, probably respect it," she explains. Bo's eyes begin to glow. "Ah hell who am I kidding, I can't do this shit."
"Do what?" says Bo, leaning her head to the side, looking into Tamsin's eyes for understanding. "Say how you feel?" Tamsin doesn't respond. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. And it's not mushy crap," says Bo, with a smile.
"Well I don't do mush, so you can get that out of your head," says Tamsin, with her usual smirk. "I just don't want you to get the wrong idea about me. I'm not who you think I am," she says, in a serious tone.
"Then who are you?" asks Bo, with a pondering expression.
Tamsin drinks some more. "Just a monster, always have been, always will be."
Bo frowns. "I don't believe that Tamsin. And besides how they were acting towards you at the real Dal, I know, I mean I would like to think that you are more than that, regardless of what you or whoever else thinks of you." Bo pauses. "Tamsin, just by you being here, and with me, proves that." Bo's eyes sincere.
Tamsin clears her throat. "I just don't want you dead that's all," she says, looking away, grabbing her drink again. "So let's just call it civic duty," she says, drinking more, leaning her head against her hand. She closes her eyes as several scrambled thoughts surfaces through her mind.
"All of it?" asks Bo, eyes soft and blue.
"Does this place have anything stronger to drink in here?" says Tamsin, underneath her breath. She looks over to Bo. Tamsin sighs and places the beer down again. "Bo, I don't know. I don't understand what it is that you want from me? I mean what is it that you are looking for?"
"Maybe a bit of honesty for one," says Bo, nodding her head. "You keep being there, and I want to know what does that mean…I guess what I'm really getting at is, I want to know…I want to know how you feel about me?"
Tamsin starts to feel uncomfortable. She looks away from Bo. "What would that accomplish? And it doesn't matter anyway."
"It matters to me Tamsin," says Bo, heartfelt.
"Okay Bo," says Tamsin, returning her gaze to Bo. "You want to know how I feel?" Bo nods her head like yeah. "Okay, I feel…" Tamsin says, being interrupted.
"Civic duty?" laughs a man, looking like a janitor, broom in hand. "That's a good one."
"Really?" says Bo, ever so annoyed. "It's like every time," she says, shaking her head. "And in mid-sentence."
"Who the hell are you?" asks Tamsin. "And just how long have you been standing there?" Her eyes turn black.
"My apologies, sights like these are often rare if not at all to see here. Anywho, I am merely a guide. You all can call me The Caretaker," he says. "I've been in this Temple for so long that I don't even remember my name." Bo gives him an odd look. "It's true. So Bo is it? A pleasure to meet the unaligned Succubus."
"Thanks I think," says Bo, with a small frown. Tamsin's eyes return to blue.
"And the Valkyrie. What a catch," he says. "Actually quite unbelievable." Tamsin rolls her eyes. He clears his throat. "My apologies. Just an unexpected turn of events," he says.
"You think you can cut to the chase and hurry this guidance shit up," says Tamsin.
"Oh my, so much bravado in this one. I admire that. And I'm not the only one," he says, looking over to Bo, who drinks some more of her drink like I don't know what you're talking about. "Well since you ladies are in a hurry, all you have to do to get out of here is find the key. It will present itself to you in hand, and you must accept it in its form," he says.
"Yeah, I expected cryptics," says Bo, nodding.
"And if you don't, well you already know what will happen," he says.
"Thing in Trick's basement. Understood," says Bo. Suddenly Dyson enters much to the surprise of everyone.
"What in the hell are you doing here?" asks Tamsin, frowning all the while.
"You think I'd leave Bo alone with you," Dyson answers.
"I take it back, this is quite an unexpected turn of events," says The Caretaker.
"Who is this guy?" asks Dyson, ready to pounce.
"He's The Caretaker. And how did you get here?" asks Bo, frowning as well.
"The same way you did," answers Dyson.
"You heard what Stella said," says Bo, feeling really uneasy now.
"Seriously dude, are you that fucked up in the head that you would not only taint her Dawning, but jeopardize all of our lives? The hell were you thinking?" says Tamsin, looking like she wants to smack the taste out of his mouth and then some.
"I do what is in Bo's best interest. And I don't have to justify my actions to you," says Dyson, smartly.
"If you call this being in her best interest then you do have a dick for brains," says Tamsin.
"Guys please okay. I heard enough at the real Dal. And it's bad enough that I have to do this 200 years earlier than I am supposed to, with only a few weeks of training, but why would you do this to me? I mean did Trick put you up to this or something? Because this doesn't make any sense," says Bo.
"I did what had to be done," says Dyson, leaving it at that.
"Um okay. Who gives a shit about everyone else," says Tamsin. "Can I just kill him now?" Her eyes return to black. Chains begin to coil down her arms. Dyson growls at her.
"Would you two stop it," says Bo. She looks over to The Caretaker. "Caretaker, will this ruin my entire Dawning?"
"My dear I cannot say. In all my years I have yet to see such a thing done as two Hands. The rules have been broken and with that do come consequences. All I can say is that it will be up to you to make it out of here, if you can," he answers.
"Gee thanks a bunch," says Bo.
The Caretaker rubs his hands together as if they were cold, but with anticipation. "So the heroic Light Fae Wolf, thee legendary Dark Fae Valkyrie, and the most intriguing unaligned Succubus, this should be interesting. Interesting to watch indeed," he says, laughing before he disappears.
"Yeah because that wasn't creepy," says Bo, to herself. Then she starts to think about Tamsin, and what he meant by legendary.
"Good looking out hero," says Tamsin, returning back to normal. She grabs a bottle of liquor and drinks from it.
"If you knew anything about caring for someone other than yourself then…" says Dyson, being cut off.
"Oh please spare me with your tired ass platitudes before I really kill you," says Tamsin, drinking more.
"You guys we need to focus. Now that all three of us are here, we might as well learn to get along with each other. Now The Caretaker said that all we have to do is find a key, and we'll be done with this," says Bo. They hear a monstrous sound. "Um…what the hell was that?"
"Come on this way," says Dyson, pulling Bo towards the sound.
"I'm sorry did you not just hear that?" says Bo, shaking her head. "Don't you watch scary movies? That's like chasing after the psycho serial killer when their trying to kill you. I mean who does that?"
"The dumbass that fucked everything up in the first place," says Tamsin. She goes for another shot, but Bo takes it, drinking it herself.
He ignores Tamsin's comment. "It's the only way to find the key right?" he says, in good spirits. Bo looks at him like he is a rockstar with no guitar.
Bo takes another shot of liquor. The Wanderer song plays again and this time Tamsin places her hand on the counter and chains go through it, destroying the stereo. "Fucking song," she says, walking away. They all walk out of the bar only to be inside of Bo's house.
"What the?" says Bo, looking around. "The Dal has never been this close to home before. Although it would make things more convenient." A strange expression surfaces across her face. "You guys, I know my home, but something isn't right about it."
"Truthfully, I just remember your bedroom," says Dyson, with a smile.
Bo looks like she wants to jump out of her skin while Tamsin would like to hurl. "Why would you say something like that?" asks Bo.
"Because he's a dick," says Tamsin, bluntly.
"You must have a good memory to remember a few shorts from three years ago," says Bo, raising her eyebrow.
"Ouch," he says. Then he accidentally bumps his leg on a furniture stand. "Oww."
"Serves you right," says Bo.
Out of nowhere an Under-Fae enters and tries to attack them. Dyson pushes Bo out of the way, who ends up falling into Tamsin's arms. The Under-Fae claws his chest and then escapes.
"Way to go Rango," says Tamsin, not impressed.
"Dyson, I know we're on the same team, but stop blocking my shots. I can protect myself," says Bo, standing to her feet.
"Let's hurry before it gets away," says Dyson. Tamsin shakes her head.
They all go after it and end up at the gym. But Tamsin isn't there. "Where is Tamsin?" says Bo, looking around.
"I don't know. She was right behind us. Probably somewhere lost in The Temple," he says, without a care in the world.
"Is that supposed to make me feel better," says Bo, very worried. "You know this is all your fault Dyson. Sometimes you have to learn to leave well enough alone," she says, with mixed emotions, hoping that Tamsin is alright.
"Bo, I'm sure we'll find her."
"I bet you are," she retorts, still looking around for Tamsin.
Dyson is a short distance from her. "Bo, I want you to know that I couldn't risk losing you. I love you Bo, and I would do anything for you."
"Wow really?" says Bo, with a duh look at him. "You're such an ass. And you picked one of the most important events of my lifetime to prove it. And look at you, all clawed up," she says, shaking her head.
"I will heal," says Dyson, with a smile.
"Dyson, I do love you too okay, but it's not the same…it's not in the same way. You have to understand that I'm in love with someone else."
"I know," he says. Bo gives him a guarded look. "You're with Lauren," he continues, much to the relief of Bo, who lets out a small sigh. "And I have grown to accept that. Can't say that I agree, but I respect your decision."
"You're starting to freak me out. You're acting like I'm never gonna see you again," she says. He holds her hands. "This is exactly what I'm talking about. We are not in Hemlock Grove."
"Bo, I've been around for awhile, but not even in the first 1500 hundred years have I met and learned so much from one person. Although I may not be able to be with you, the person that I love more than anything…" Dyson continues confessing his love while Bo's mind is drifting off, thinking about Tamsin, wishing it was her here discussing her love instead of Dyson. Continuing. "Just know this Bo, I'll do whatever it takes to win your heart back." Bo's still only half listening. Dyson continues. After he finishes his declaration of love he awaits Bo's response, which is a blank stare. "Bo?"
"Dyson, I appreciate your honesty, and for telling me how you really feel. I um, truthfully, I don't know what to say. This kind of complicates our friendship. I don't know where to go from here."
"I said what I had to say Bo. But I'll still be around in 100 years," he says, with a smile.
"Wow, really Dyson? We're putting expiration dates on people. Nice," says Bo, with a nod of sarcasm.
"I'm just being honest." He looks at her with puppy dog eyes.
"That is not going to work," says Bo, raising an eyebrow. He tries to go in for a kiss when Bo backs away.
"Can't help a man from trying," says Dyson.
"Dyson, I just want to find the key and Tamsin and leave this place as soon as possible. Is that okay with you?"
"By all means, lead the way," he says, moving his arm forward.
Suddenly the Under-Fae returns again, attacking them both. It knocks Dyson across the room and sends Bo flying into the lockers. Then it drags her by a leg, and she trips it with her other leg. She spots a key. Bo grabs it, and she and the Under-Fae both disappear.
"No!" yells Dyson. He runs out of the gym and finds himself back inside of the gym. Dyson is starting to go into a fit of rage, hitting lockers, saying that he needs to find Bo in his growly voice.
The Caretaker is sitting at a table, playing some kind of game. The Caretaker mocks him and tells him to calm down, that there's nothing but time there. Then he tells Dyson that Bo has already moved on. Dyson tells him about her grabbing the key and that this should be over. The Caretaker tells him that she grabbed a key, and The Dawning is still in progress, and since there is nothing but time there, why not make it a little more interesting. Dyson is all ears.
Now we find Lauren and Bo at the cop shop in uniform in some sort of alternate reality. Lauren looks like herself, but her persona is Dyson. "How's it going partner?" she asks.
"Frustrating. Do you have that file?" Bo asks. Lauren hands it to her. Bo opens the folder. "This isn't the right file," she says, to herself. She holds her head as if it aches.
"Is everything alright?" asks Lauren, concern in her eyes. "With you and Dyson?"
"I don't want to do this today okay," says Bo, sounding rather annoyed. "I have a lot going on."
"Still having nightmares huh?"
Bo doesn't answer, just takes a bottle of pills out of her file drawer and takes some. "It's just the new medication I'm on."
"I remember when you used to dream about me, and I would always protect you."
"Yeah well, that was a long time ago. And I don't need your protection."
"No need to take what I say literally." Lauren shrugs. "You're in love with someone else, I get it. I was just concerned as all."
"You say that, but I know deep down inside that you're not okay with anyone who I decide to be with except you."
"Maybe so, but I respect your decision."
Bo gives her a look and picks up another file. "Damn, where is that file?"
"What's the matter?"
"It's my key witness. My key," says Bo, with a frown. "I mean my informant. She's having doubts. And she's the only one that can finally take down the DiLaurentis Crime Family." Bo gets up. "You know, I gave you a chance, but then you broke my heart."
"I made a promise to look after you."
"That doesn't even matter. There were other opportunities, but it was you who gave your love away." Bo walks away.
Now Bo is in the interrogation room with Kenzi, she is dressed in attire that she would even rebuke. Bo is trying to convince her to testify, telling her how it would save many lives.
"I don't want to do this anymore. I want my life back," says Kenzi, fidgeting with her necklace that has a Pi in the circle pendant on it.
"And you will have it. I told you that I would make sure nothing happens to you and I meant it."
"Yeah you say that, but I don't feel protected. I don't feel safe anymore. My life is on the line here. No one seems to understand that."
"Mackenzie, listen. You will be saving more lives than you know. And I will protect you. I promise, even if it means risking my own life." Bo gets up.
"You're not gonna leave me all alone are you?" asks Kenzi, a bit paranoid and afraid.
"No. You're safe. It's just my department…"
Kenzi interrupts. "No you said that you would protect me and that I would be safe. You're just like the others!"
"No I'm not. I meant every word that I said, and if it comes down to it then my Captain will take care of you. Trust me."
At the gym, Tamsin enters and sees The Caretaker sitting at a table, playing the same odd game. "What the fuck?" she says, to herself. She walks over to him. "Where is everyone?"
"Where is everyone, or where is someone in particular?" he says, like a nosy old neighbor.
Tamsin looks irritated. "You know what the hell I mean."
"Does she know why you're really here?"
Tamsin presses her lips together. "What would you know?"
"I knew what you were about from the moment you entered The Temple," he says, moving pieces on the board around.
"And what's that?" says Tamsin, folding her arms.
"You have deep walls up, remarkable. And your subconscious is off limits. But your conscious my dear I can see."
"I don't care much for riddles old man."
"You want to keep her alive so that you can deliver her to him," he says. Tamsin frowns at him. "But we both know how this will turn out. What I don't understand is why? You can't hide here."
"Whoever said I was hiding?"
"Not even you Valkyrie can change your fate. Your memories are so fragmented."
"So you just went from The Riddler to Ms. Cleo," says Tamsin, annoyed.
"Perhaps you're not hiding. Change of heart maybe?"
"I don't know what the fuck you are talking about? And you don't know shit about me. Just put me back in the fucking game or I swear I'll turn this place into a living hell as long as I am here."
"Testy. No need for threats. All we have is time here. But the game has already changed. You never know what you may walk into."
"I don't care, just do it!"
Back at the cop shop. Bo is looking for Kenzi. She bumps into Trick, the Captain. Bo asks him where Mackenzie is, and he tells Bo that they let her go since she gave them her testimony. Bo is furious. Upset over how they could do something like that, to leave Mackenzie out there fending for herself when her life is in danger. She grows more upset when Trick tells her that there's nothing else they can do for Mackenzie. But Bo promised that she'd keep her safe. However Trick is being very cold-hearted. Then he goes on to tell her that there will more people like Mackenzie that come and go. He goes even further to advise Bo to start acting like the rest of them, and play by their codes of conduct because if he had to choose between someone like Bo to someone off the street, to say that rather lightly, that he will always go with his own. Bo goes on to tell him that she's doesn't think that she wants to be part of the team anymore, and walks away.
Bo arrives home and sees Tamsin cutting rose bushes, not noticing Tamsin's bloody hands. They greet each other and then Bo enters her home, major upgrade from the crack shack. She is putting her things away then starts going through her mail and such. Another door opens and Dyson enters the room, wearing medical scrubs, holding a bag. "How was your day honey?" he says, placing the bag on the table. And it would seem that he has channeled some of Lauren's persona along with his own.
Bo sighs. "I spent the day trying to find my CI. No luck. I wish I could've done more," she says, disappointingly.
"Don't feel bad sweetie. You only can do the best you can. And I believe that you will find her."
"Thanks," says Bo, mustering a smile. "How was your day? I'm sure better than mine."
Dyson talks about how he delivered twins, performed a blood transfusion and still made it in time for dinner with Indian food. "Yeah I'm awesome," he says.
"You sure are," says Bo, giving him a hug. She notices a plate of baked cookies.
"I don't understand why she's always baking cookies," he says, annoyance in his tone.
"Um because I like them," Bo says, grabbing one. "And chocolate chip."
"I wouldn't eat them Bo."
"Why not? You never had a problem any other time."
"It seems that she is trying a new recipe," he says. Bo shrugs her shoulders in a so-what manner. "You can't eat them because they have cinnamon in it which counteracts with your meds hun."
"Great," says Bo, putting the cookie down. "Well I guess I should thank her later for the thought."
"I do wonder how she manages to bring cookies in when we're at work?" says Dyson, with a frown.
"Well our neighborhood is pretty safe, sometimes I may leave the door unlocked," says Bo, shrugging. "And let's not forget I am a cop."
"Are you sure that's it?" he asks, a little suspiciously.
"What can I say, I love eating her cookies," says Bo, with a smile.
"You are still taking your medication right?" he asks, with a curious expression.
"Yeah. Speaking of meds, I don't think I should take them anymore. It's like I'm getting all these side effects."
"Bo, there are always possible side effects to every medication. And these being a new prescription, you have to give your body time to adjust to them."
"The thing is, I don't want to take meds for the rest of my life. Plus Tamsin seems to think the same. Pills only treat, but it doesn't cure and I don't want to depend on them. She thinks I should allow my body to mend on its own," says Bo, nodding.
Dyson frowns again. "I think I know what's best for you. I am the one with the medical degree. And since when do you have the time to talk to Tamsin anyway?" he asks, in a green-eyed manner.
"Dyson, I'm not trying to discredit you in any way. I know that you want what's best for me. But I don't like what they do to me," says Bo, trying to get him to understand.
"Any no one likes what you did before you started taking them remember?" he says, as if he were a parent to a child.
Bo shakes her head. "No, I really don't remember."
"And this Tamsin?" says Dyson, with a raised eyebrow.
"Sometimes we have talks. With our shifts, and you always being on call, it's nice to talk to someone sometimes," Bo answers, nonchalantly.
"I suppose so," says Dyson, feeling some kind of way. "Look Bo, I just want what's in your best interest. If talking to someone helps ease your mind, that's fine. But you still have to stay on your medication if you want to get better. You have to trust me, I know what I'm doing. And I just want to make sure you're okay, and safe."
"And I do. And you do. You're such an amazing and brilliant doctor," says Bo, hugging Dyson, who smiles.
"Don't forget super sexy," says Dyson.
"Now how could I forget that, it's implied," says Bo.
Dyson kisses Bo on the lips. "Bo, we're living the dream life," he says, still hugging. "And I hope it will last forever." Bo is nodding in agreement, but she is feeling a certain kind of way about it all.
Bo begins to frown. "Dyson, I have to tell you something, and it's really important."
"What is it honey?" he asks, super chipper. Bo is feeling dizzy. She loses her balance a bit, but Dyson has her in his arms. "Are you feeling alright babe?"
"Um yeah. I guess it will have to wait til later. I'm just feeling a little light-headed now. It's nothing that a glass of water and maybe a nap won't cure."
Now Bo is in a silk pearl gown. She opens a door and it seems like she is in another time and place, inside of a nursery. There's a man with his back turned to her, rocking a baby in a rocking chair as he hums a lullaby. Bo starts rocking, and humming the same lullaby. The man tells the baby how long he's been waiting for her, and how great she will become. Then Bo realizes that it's her father. He places her in the bassinet, and leaves the baby with a nanny, telling the nanny to let him know if the baby needs anything. Then the room gets a bit dim. A disheveled woman enters the room and slits the nanny's throat, much to the horror of Bo. Then Bo realizes that it is her mother. Aife picks up the baby from the bassinet and tells the baby how he doesn't deserve to have her, taking the baby away. Bo starts to cry just as the baby does then she holds onto her stomach as if she were in pain.
Bo is now back in her alternate reality bedroom after coming out of the bathroom, holding in her hand a pregnancy test stick. "We're having a baby," she says, to Dyson, much to his excitement. He hugs her, but Bo doesn't seem as excited as he is.
"I don't know what to say. This is incredible." He kneels down to her belly, rubbing her stomach. Then he stands up and holds her hands. "Are you sure about this?" he asks.
"I'm pretty sure. I took the test ten times. All came up positive."
"No, that's not what I meant. What I meant to say is, are you ready to be a mother because I am ready to be a dad, but only if it's what you truly want Bo," he explains. She nods her head in agreement, but not truly enthused. Dyson is so happy that he doesn't even notice her aloofness. "I can't wait to tell everyone at the hospital. Then his pager goes off. "Speaking of which, looks like I'm needed at the ER, but I can stay here with you."
"No, go, save a life. I'll be fine here."
"Are you sure hun because I can stay?"
"Dyson, you're a doctor. I'm just pregnant. Those people need your help, go."
"Okay," he says, giving her a kiss on the cheek. He gets dressed fast. "I'll be back as soon as I can." Before he leaves he turns around and tells Bo how much he loves her, and she tells him that she loves him too.
Now alone, Bo stares at the pregnancy stick conflicted. She goes into the restroom and throws it in the trash. Then she returns to her room to lie in her bed. On the one hand she should be happy because she's having a baby with someone that she loves, and on the other hand she isn't, her eyes water with tears.
