The Morrigan's Office. Tamsin is leaning against the wall with her arms folded looking bored as ever, waiting for The Morrigan to get off the phone. She finally hangs up. "So," she says, scrolling through her tablet. "What is this I hear about you being dead, and not being dead? Calling The Sweepers and then calling them off. I was in the middle of something."
"Let me guess, someone was in the middle of you," says Tamsin, wanting to barf.
The Morrigan gives her an eyebrow flash with a smile then she looks serious. "Explain yourself. I don't like wasting my resources."
Tamsin sighs. "I was at The Dal."
"Wow, you don't say," says The Morrigan, with a bit of annoyance. "Why were you there in the first place?"
"Went to have a drink, turned out to be Bo's Dawning."
"Wait," says The Morrigan, attentively. "Did you just say that the Succubitch went through the Dawning?"
"So now you're no longer interested in my being dead and alive anymore," says Tamsin.
"Of course not. You are standing over there talking to me."
"Which begs the question, why am I here?"
"Enough games Tamsin. You know what I want to hear. I don't have you playing peacemaker for nothing."
Tamsin thinks about her words, not wanting to give her too much information, but enough to stop hassling her. "Apparently, she went through The Dawning 200 years before her time."
The Morrigan slams her hand against the desk. "I knew it. I knew the Light wanted her alive for something. And that imp in that dump-hole wall of a tavern knows more than he is putting on. No one has gone through The Dawning that early, ever. And eww isn't she like 30," says The Morrigan, like she tasted something sour. "Anyway, I knew there was more to her." The Morrigan raises an eyebrow. "Good. You're finally showing some promise. I want you to resume your duties. I want to know what she is all about."
"Great. Can I go now," says Tamsin.
"Wait just a second. How did you get invited to the Ceremony?" inquires The Morrigan.
"Like I said, I went there for a drink."
"And they asked you to stay?" says The Morrigan, not buying it.
Tamsin sighs. "I may have assisted Bo in obtaining her invitation."
"Does this have to do with that altercation at the bar?" says The Morrigan, with a look.
"Yes. I had no choice. They were interfering with my mission."
The Morrigan has a quizzical expression upon her face. "And that is?"
"To gain Bo's trust, so that I won't have to snoop around, but can openly be around."
"You're either incredibly smart, or an incredible liar. Be that as it may, I must punish you for your little squabble. Don't want the lemons to think that I'm playing favoritism. Don't worry dear, you've brought me good intel, and since I am in good spirits, I'll be human about it. Let's see, what would a human do? Oh yes, I am making you take a leave from work."
Tamsin frowns. "That's punishment?"
"Without pay. And I am banning you from all the Dark bars."
That part irritates Tamsin. "For how long?"
"Until I say so."
"Fine. Now can I go," says Tamsin.
"Of course sweetie. But you will still be shadowing the Succubus." Tamsin looks even more annoyed. "Oh, you didn't think you'd get off that easy. You're dismissed."
Lauren's Apartment. Lauren has just finished examining Dyson. "Everything appears normal," says Lauren.
Dyson stands to his feet, a small yet quick frown surface across his face. "I told you that I was fine."
"I can give you pain killers for your back," says Lauren, noticing.
"That won't be necessary," says Dyson, standing firm, in a macho tone.
"So," says Lauren, with a pause. "The Dawning? What was it like being in there?"
"If you want answers to that question, my best advice is to go to the source," answers Dyson, putting on his jacket.
"Noted," says Lauren. She begins putting her equipment away.
Dyson can see that something is troubling Lauren. "You know that she loves you," he says, though he really didn't want to.
"Oh I know," says Lauren, still moving around, not making eye contact.
"From your tone, it sounds like you're second guessing."
Lauren stops what she is doing and looks at him. "That's not what bothers me." She pauses. "After Bo's Dawning, it seemed like she was a different person. I mean I knew that she would be, different, but…no, never mind."
"I see you're talking about the other Bo," says Dyson.
"Well, yes. I don't know, maybe it's just me being overly exhausted, but we all have seen this other Bo. And well, it just seems like a different person, that's all."
"That's just the darkness inside of her Lauren."
"I know that," says Lauren, with an uncomfortable laugh/sigh. "I mean that's what Trick assumes, but isn't it all Bo?" She shakes her head. "I just wonder…what does this other Bo want?"
"Well besides the obvious," says Dyson, with a look.
"Yeah well, world domination of course," says Lauren, with a nod. "But, I don't know, maybe it's just me, but it seems like she wants something else too."
"Well we know that Bo can't control that side of her."
"But can she?" shrugs Lauren. Dyson is quiet, wondering where Lauren is going with this. "Dyson, she looked in control when she saved your life…but then she was out of control when it came to Tamsin."
"Oh I see," says Dyson, nodding. "You think the other Bo has a thing for Tamsin?"
"No," says Lauren, quickly shaking her head. "That's not what I'm suggesting."
"Then what are you trying to say Lauren?"
Lauren shakes her head again. "Dyson," she says, with a sigh. "I don't even know what I'm saying or thinking anymore." She goes back to sorting her equipment.
"Well if you want answers to that or something along those lines, you would have to ask Bo, only she knows." Dyson walks over to the door and opens it. "If it makes any difference, when I was at The Dawning with Bo, she chose you." Then he exits, closing the door behind.
Lauren stops what she is doing, and becomes lost in her thoughts.
Out in the streets, Bo is walking casually when suddenly her eyes turn blue. The mysterious wind surface, her skin becomes flushed, and her bones etched out. She looks at her surroundings as if she were a small child in a huge theme park, taking it all in. She continues to walk and comes across a boutique where this beautiful red evening dress is displayed in the window. Bo moves her arm forward and the door opens. She walks in. And when she exits, she is in different attire, wearing the dress with matching heels. The clothes that she had on when she entered are inside, ablaze. She continues walking, but in a strut, then she immediately stops. The sexual energy inside of her is building. She turns and sees where it is emitting from, a nightclub. Bo steps into the club and can feel the heat from everyone's bodies. Her eyes turn red.
At the same time on the opposite side of town, Tamsin is sitting in her truck, trying to process the day's events when she starts feeling something occurring inside of her. She begins to frown. But the feeling is overwhelming, and compelling. Her skin begins to shift into grayish black, and her eyes change as well, into red with the black worlds inside.
Back at the club, Bo is sitting in the back at a distant table, observing. The music is bleeding through the speakers, and the strobe lighting has become a dark shade of red. It appears that the club has been transformed into a brothel as everyone that was in attendance there is now naked, engaging in sexual intercourse with each other. Men with women, women with women, men with men, threesomes, foursomes, the entire works, all under Bo's influence as she feeds off their sexual energy. Out of nowhere Tamsin enters wearing a black cloak. Bo stands up with her head slanted, peering at her, relishing in the moment. All the doors instantly lock. Then a chain wraps around Bo's waist, searing, burning through her dress, scorching her skin. Tamsin slowly walks through the people until she reaches Bo, the chain still attached.
"YOU REQUESTED ME," says Tamsin.
"You have been chosen," says Dark Bo, in her demonic, echoing voice.
The full out orgy seems to have drawn in closer to them. Dark Bo treats the people as if they were a bed made out of humans as they continue to indulge in their desires. She pushes Tamsin against them and rips off her own dress. Then she climbs on top of Tamsin and opens her cloak. Blue flames cover Tamsin until she is naked then it is put out. Dark Bo can feel that electrical jolt trying to force them apart but dismisses it this time with a twist of her wrist. She digs her nails into Tamsin's sides as she leans back, absorbing the energy that the humans are producing underneath them. Suddenly, sizzling chains lock onto her backside as if they were made to be there, lining down her spine like they were being plugged into her. No blood escapes as she has a constant feeding source. Connected, they both move to the rhythm of the crowd.
Several hours later, close to dawn, Bo enters the crack shack with a black robe on. All the lights still on, Kenzi awakes from the sofa. "Where have you been, I've been worried sick," she says. Bo faces her, and her eyes are red. "Holy shit," says Kenzi, underneath her breath. She ducks into the couch. Bo turns away from her and continues up the stairs, towards her bedroom. "What the fuck was that?" whispers Kenzi, spooked. She looks at Ziggy. "Did you see that shit?" she asks as if the teddy bear could talk. "Damn it, where in the hell is a Bible at when you need one?" Then Kenzi sits on the couch silent until she no longer hears any footsteps. After, she quietly crawls into the kitchen and grabs a pair of knives and a bottle of liquor. "If I go out, I'm gonna be on one," she says, drinking from the bottle. Ten minutes later, she's out, with less than half a bottle of liquor sitting on the table, Ziggy next to her, and the pair of knives on her chest in the shape of a cross.
Bo is in bed, having a recurring dream about her and Tamsin in the flower garden, making love to one another. The dream seems so real that Bo is reacting to it, moving her body as if someone were there with her, making sexual sounds.
Downstairs. Someone is knocking on the door. Both Kenzi and Bo are still asleep. After some time of no one answering, the person takes it upon themselves to let themselves in. They call out to Kenzi, who is still asleep until she feels someone tapping her. She jumps up, both knives in hand. "Aahhh!"
"Kenzi, it's just me," says the person.
Kenzi's eyes begin to adjust and she sees Dyson standing over her. "Oh fuck! I didn't know who the hell you were. You can't just sneak up on a playa like that," says Kenzi. She places the knives on the table. "That's like the number one cause of being stabbed. Don't you read up on statistics?"
"I knocked. No one answered."
"Wow, how come I never knew that that actually means to just come on in," says Kenzi, with an eye roll. She picks up the bottle of liquor and takes a sip.
The comment goes over Dyson head as he is thinking of other matters. "Why were you sleeping with knives?" he asks. Then Dyson looks around. "Is everything alright in here?"
"From what I can see," says Kenzi, checking herself. Dyson is looking at her in a strange manner. Then he figures it's the alcohol talking. "Hey, did you say that you knocked?" says Kenzi, with her mouth open in shock. "I'm surprised seeing as though you like to just barge in, oh wait, you did."
"I can see that you're still upset with me," says Dyson.
"You damn skippy," says Kenzi as a matter of fact.
"I came over to speak with Bo, is she around?"
"Well that depends," says Kenzi, thinking about earlier.
"It depends on what?" asks Dyson, confused.
Kenzi shakes her head. "Never mind all that." She frowns. "You know what, now that I think about it, why do you ask if she's here when you know she's here already? Did your sniffing jump the gun too?"
Dyson crosses his arms. "You think you can tell her that I'm here," he asks, respectfully.
"Hell nall, not I," says Kenzi, propping her feet on the table. She turns on the television. Dyson is looking at her with this are-you-serious look. Kenzi gives him a crazy look. "Does it look like I'm playing," she says, with a look. "And what are you doing here?"
"I need to speak to Bo, it's important," says Dyson.
Kenzi takes another drink from the bottle. "You mean clean up your shit."
"Kenzi, I'm not the bad guy. I just want to make sure that you and Bo can understand that."
"You know, I really don't feel comfortable having this conversation without talking behind your back first. But clearly you're gonna ruin that for me too." Kenzi shakes her head. "D-man, you really fucked up." Dyson looks at her like he doesn't understand. "Do I really have to spell it out for you? Okay dude first of all, you went about that shit way waay wrong. And B, did I mention that you really fucked up. And three, after shit is over you walk around here like you got a get out of jail free card. I mean really Dyson, you acted like a total jackass."
"My actions are always in and for Bo's best interest. And if that makes me a jackass then I guess I'll be one," he says, rather calmly.
Kenzi shakes her head. "That's all fine and dandy. And you know, you may believe that that's what you're doing, but really my dude, you're doing more harm than good."
"I guess making sure she's alright, and always being there for her, let's not forget sacrificing myself, and loving her are all harmful things," he says, nodding his head.
"Being a smartass will get you nowhere in this house…Now look D, I'm not trying to bust your balls dude because you're doing that all on your own. But seriously, you're going to end up pushing Bo away for real if you keep doing the things that you do."
Dyson sighs. He doesn't really understand what Kenzi is talking about, and he is getting really impatient. "Okay Kenzi, I'm sorry. I really am. Now can you please tell Bo that I'm here?"
"I don't know why you're apologizing to me, Bo's the one you should be apologizing to," she says.
Dyson looks at Kenzi like she's off her rocker. "That's what I'm trying to do," he says, with a duh tone.
Kenzi drinks some more. "Hey, don't try to get smart with me because you're a dumbass."
"I can see that I'm not going to get anywhere down here, so I'll just tell her I'm here myself." He starts walking when Kenzi jumps out in front of him.
"Sccrrrr," says Kenzi, making the sound of a car coming to a screeching halt. "See that's the kind of shit I'm talking about. Now first of all, do you know how early it is?"
"It's two in the afternoon," says Dyson, looking at his watch.
"Shit, really?" says Kenzi, like where did the time go. "Well okay whatever, is she expecting you?"
"No. That was already established when I asked you to tell her that I was here."
"Back to my point of being a smartass. Like I was saying, if she's not expecting you, why do you think it's cool to go upstairs? I mean how many times does she gotta tell you that? On second thought, how many times do I have to tell you that? You know what Dyson dude, you're so digging your own grave," she says, shaking her head.
Meanwhile upstairs. Bo's body is trembling, with constant moans escaping from her mouth.
Back downstairs. Dyson is about to say something when the conversation is interrupted by the loudest orgasm that they have ever heard inside of the house. Now both are looking at each other with awkward stares. Dyson clears his throat. "I didn't know that Bo had company over," he says, trying to restrain the hurt he feels inside.
Kenzi is looking as shocked as ever. "Me either," she says, to herself.
Upstairs. Bo wakes up with this WTF expression. Wondering when did she get home, and why is she in her bed naked? She looks down at her sheets and sees a nicely sized wet spot to which makes her frown. Then a look of embarrassment crosses her face, hoping that she's home alone.
In the middle of nowhere, Tamsin wakes up in a barren field, the sunlight blinding her vision. She sits up, using her hand to block the sun from her eyes. "What the…where the fuck am I?" she says, frowning, looking at her surroundings. She feels a breeze and realizes that she doesn't have any clothes on. On top of that, she sees several partially healed cuts and scratches on her body. "You gotta be fucking shitting me?" She pauses like she just realized something. "Where the hell is my truck?"
Back at the crack shack. "Um, yeah…ooh Jungle Jeeves is on," says Kenzi, changing the subject. "You want me to tell Bo that you stopped by?" she says, sitting back down on the sofa.
Dyson takes a deep breath. "No, I can wait."
"Here we go again. I mean have I been talking to myself this whole time?" she says, to herself, shaking her head. "Guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks." Kenzi goes back to watching Jungle Jeeves.
After having changed her bed sheets, Bo is inside of the bathroom taking a shower, trying to remember last night which is a total blank. All she can remember is walking out of The Dal, and then sleepy time. And thinking that she never had a dream like that, that felt so real. Her body is filled from so much energy. More than she has ever experienced. She figures it must be The Dawning's doing. Then she goes back to thinking about her dream, and a tingling sensation comes over her, especially in one delicate area, which is now making it very hard to complete her shower.
Bo finally makes her way downstairs wearing a kimono. She places her sheets in the washer, and makes her way to the kitchen, not noticing anyone, in her own little world. Kenzi is looking at her strangely. Bo is in the fridge, looking for something to eat. She decides to go with cookie dough and a quart of milk. She turns around and almost drops the items from the sight of Kenzi and Dyson, hoping that they just came in. "Oh hey, guys. Um Kenzi?" she says.
"Bo?" says Kenzi, eyes probing her, trying to determine if she is normal Bo or Dark Bo.
"A word," says Bo, with a little smile.
"Why in the hell not," says Kenzi. She goes over to Bo.
"Kenzi, how come you didn't tell me that we had company?" Bo whispers.
"I don't know Bo. But I can tell you later about some other shit. And anyway, how come you didn't tell me that you have company?" whispers Kenzi, with her hand on her hip.
"I don't," says Bo, frowning. She places the dough and milk on the counter.
"You sure about that?" says Kenzi, with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm one hundred percent positive Kenzi. Why?" Then Bo thinks about it. "Wait, what do you hear?"
"I don't know Bo, just you getting the big bang of the century apparently."
Bo gasps. "I was sleeping. I didn't know that I really made those noises in real life."
"Well if that was a dream, I'm gonna need to borrow it."
"Wait, how long has he been here?" asks Bo, with a look of guilt. Kenzi gives her a look while nodding. "Why did you let him in?" whines Bo.
"He was here when I woke up," shrugs Kenzi.
"Okay, okay, I can think of something."
"Like what? Hey Dyson, how are you? What, oh that, it was just me. Having the most awesomest dream ever," says Kenzi, with emphasis on the ever.
"Well I'm not gonna tell him that I was having a wet um, that I was sleeping. I mean how awkward right?"
"Totally awkward."
Dyson stands up. "I can come back later if..."
Bo interrupts him. "No, that's okay. It's just that I wasn't expecting you to be here but since you're here, um how can I help you?"
"I came to see how you were doing?" he answers.
"Oh. Well as you can see, I'm doing just great," says Bo, not realizing that her response can be taken in a different way. Dyson doesn't say anything because he's thinking of the different way. "You know, if that's all you wanted, you could've just called," says Bo.
"It's not," says Kenzi, going back over to her bottle.
Dyson looks at Kenzi. "You think you could give me and Bo some privacy?"
"Um, let me think…I'm going with no, final answer," says Kenzi.
"Dyson, whatever you have to say to me, you can say it in front of Kenzi," says Bo, folding her arms.
"Alright. I know that we really didn't have a chance to talk after your Dawning and…" says Dyson, being interrupted by Kenzi.
"You mean the Dawning that you almost fucked up and showed your wolf ass at," says Kenzi, biting an old slice of pizza.
Dyson ignores her. "I wanted to make sure that we were okay."
"Oh," says Bo. "I really didn't get a lot of time to think about that. But now that I am, to be really honest, I'm not okay," says Bo, shaking her head.
Dyson is taken aback. "How can you say that after I risked my life for you?"
"Everyone's life you mean," says Kenzi.
"Dyson, I can't stand here and pretend like what happened yesterday was okay. Everything about it was wrong from the moment you offered yourself as Hand. You didn't even tell me what that really meant. Then you jump inside of the portal when I didn't choose you. And when I really think about it Dyson, everything that went wrong in it was because of you," says Bo, with a serious expression. Dyson doesn't know what to say. "And I know that I thanked you for your help, but you really didn't help at all." Dyson looks like he's about to say something, but Bo continues. "You can say that you risked your life for me, but you really risked your life for yourself."
"This is some good shit," says Kenzi, under her breath.
"Because I never asked you to. You didn't respect my wishes. You could've gotten me killed. I mean so many things could've happened because of what you did. You say that you do things for me, but yesterday, it was like it wasn't even about me," says Bo.
"Bo, it was always about you. And I am sorry for how I went about things. The only thing I have to say for myself is that I just wanted to make sure you would be alright," says Dyson. Bo is just listening. "You're right, I should have trusted you, and I do apologize. But I still hope that you trust me."
"I haven't lost my trust in you Dyson. But when I replay things in my head, and the things I remember from The Dawning and before it for that matter, it leaves me speechless," says Bo, shaking her head. "It was like a different side of you that I never want to see ever again. You had no regard for life," says Bo.
"Tamsin, your partner, remember? The one you tried to off even after your ass was saved," says Kenzi.
Dyson sighs. "I was acting out of impulse. I couldn't see beyond anything else."
"You're so vain," says Kenzi, quietly singing. "You thought The Dawning would be all about you."
"My hearing is good Kenzi," says Dyson. "And maybe I was."
"Dyson, what I don't understand is that if you loved me so much like you claim to, why would you even think to put me in that kind of danger?" says Bo.
"That's a good ass question? Wait, when did you tell Bo that you got your love back?" asks Kenzi.
"Maybe I let my pride get in the way of things. But I didn't trust her with you Bo, not alone. But I should have trusted you. Bo, all I know is that I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to you and I didn't do anything to prevent it," he responds, earnestly.
Bo shrugs and sighs. "Okay," she says, to Dyson.
"Okay?" responds Kenzi, with a frown, not understanding Bo letting him off the hook so easily.
"Kenzi," says Bo, in a reprimanding tone.
"Okay," says Kenzi, in low voice.
"Now I'm not saying that any of it was okay," says Bo, to Kenzi. She looks back over to Dyson. "Because it wasn't."
"And I'm not saying what I did was right either. But I would like for me and you, for us all to be back on better terms," says Dyson.
"Dyson, I can see from your standpoint okay. And no, it doesn't make it right. However, since everything worked out…I guess I will have to forgive you. But you have to stop trying to protect me, and questioning the choices I make. I'm a big girl. And I'm not the only person that you should be apologizing to because to me, you owe her an even bigger apology."
"I know, Tamsin," says Dyson. Bo nods her head.
"I'd like to be that fly on the wall when that plays out," says Kenzi. "Hey Bo, you gotta black dress I can borrow?"
Dyson gives Kenzi this whatever look. He looks back over to Bo. "Thanks for being understanding." He thinks about something. "Bo, if I can offer a little advice…"
"Ah hell nall. Here you go offering shit again," says Kenzi.
"I would tell you to talk to Lauren. She seems to be concerned about you," says Dyson.
Bo frowns a peculiar frown. "I will, thanks."
"Well, I'll let you all get back to doing what you were doing before I interrupted," says Dyson. "I'll see you around then." Bo nods her head. Dyson exits the house. Bo is quiet.
"Okay, what's wrong now?" asks Kenzi.
"You think she knows?" asks Bo.
"Who knows what?" says Kenzi, with arm gestures.
"Lauren, Kenzi. Have you been paying attention to the conversation or do you just comment without watching the movie?"
"A bit of both. And I am very skilled. As for the Doc, well she is smart. But if you really want my opinion, why don't you just break up with her and spare her the trouble."
"Kenzi that's awful." Bo sighs. "I still love her. And I don't want to break her heart like that."
"Look Bo, we are girls and all, but you can't have your cake and eat it too," says Kenzi. Then she thinks about it. "Well actually you can. Why do people say that? I mean what else are you supposed to do with cake but eat it? That's like the most not making sense expression ever. But you know what I mean. You can't have them both, you know, Lauren and Tamsin." Bo sits next to her with the dough and milk. Kenzi looks at her choice of food. "Don't tell me Tamsin done went and got you pregnant?"
"Did I mention how funny you were today Kenzi?" says Bo, raising her eyebrow. She eats some of the dough. "And in all fairness, I haven't been getting any cake or ice cream lately."
"Well hell Bo, what do you expect? If I was the Doc, I wouldn't want to sleep with you either. Post Dawning and all, I'd be afraid for my life."
Bo frowns "What do you mean?"
Kenzi thinks about Dark Bo coming in this morning, but decides against telling Bo. "Well you did chi suck her dude, and was talking about doing it again for starters."
Bo's eyes widen. "You think she's afraid of me?"
Kenzi shrugs. "I don't know Bo. She probably thinks that you're so unstable that you might drain her to death."
Bo opens her mouth in shock. "I was unstable?"
"You know, with the blackouts and all that? But hey, what do I know," says Kenzi, taking a drink.
"Kenzi, you would tell me if I did anything bad right?"
"Sure. Liquor? Movie?" says Kenzi, changing the subject.
"Kenzi?" says Bo, with a look.
"Bo, you're my BFF. And I'd tell you if shit got too real. But the Doc, she's probably feeling a certain kind of way with the drinks, you choosing Tamsin as Hand, and the hug. I mean she is a woman."
Bo's eyes enlarge. "Was I that obvious?"
"Getting there. But Bo, on some real shit, you are gonna have to make a decision, and I know you don't like to. So if that means having a talk with the Doc, and with Tamsin, then you are just gonna have to do what you gotta do."
Bo sighs. "I guess you're right. Pass me the liquor please."
