Strategy Plans
It was morning and Hope had woken up. She got to choose what room she was staying in, and she had chosen the room that she stays in, in the future. Stefan said she could stay there until she finishes helping them. After everyone got there during the night everyone went off in different directions and Hope had to leave once more to get all her stuff. Hope had decided she could get involved a bit, since she needed more resources. Hope got out of bed and changed into her last set of clothes she had brought in the bag. After changing she went downstairs to see Damon, Rose, and Stefan who was on the phone with Elena. It didn't take long for them to notice her presence this time.
"You." Rose asks. Rose wasn't expecting to see Hope since it was obvious Elena didn't know Hope. She was on guard with her, after the whole incident with Trevor and Elijah.
"Me." Hope replies. "What is going on?" She asks Stefan after he hung up the phone with, who Hope guesses to be Elena.
"Rose was going to explain to us who the Original family is and is going to try helping Elena." Stefan answers.
"Oh." Hope is the only reply Hope can muster out for a while. "Do you guys have any food?" She asks trying to change the topic subtly, but because Damon is so cautious he can't help being suspicious of this answer. Hope notices his gaze and doesn't want to be more suspicious than she already, so she says, "What? I am hungry. I haven't eaten since yesterday."
"We have some food in the kitchen." Stefan tells Hope also finding her suspicious. "We can meet back here when Elena comes."
"Okay, but where is the kitchen." Hope asks. She already knows where it is, but it would be suspicious since she shouldn't have ever been there before.
"Follow me." Stefan says, as he begins walking towards where the kitchen is. "I would like to ask you a few questions."
Before Hope gets to far away from Rose and Damon she hears Rose say, "What is she doing here? She was there."
"How long have you known you were a witch?" Stefan asks Hope as they walk through the Great Room and into the kitchen.
"I have known since I was a baby." Hope replies knowing there is no harm in this answer.
"Have you heard about the Original family before?"
"Haven't most supernatural creatures?" Hope asks in response giving Stefan a vague answer. "Have you heard of the Originals before?"
"I know bits and pieces from stories I have heard." Stefan replies. "Can we trust you?" He asks getting right to the point.
To this question Hope just stays silent since she knew she would be lying if she said yes, because knows she wouldn't be able to go against her father. Hope knows he is probably listening to her heartbeat to tell if she is lying, so she has made sure she hasn't told a direct lie. She has the feeling that she wouldn't be able to trust them at this point in time and that she would choose her family even if they don't know it's her. She doesn't want to damage the future or ruin her family anymore than she already did. Just helping the people she cares about is what she wants. She knows what she has to do and decided she should use this time to plan.
"Can I trust you?" Hope asks Stefan avoiding his question. "Looks like we made it to the kitchen, thanks." Hope says as they both enter the kitchen.
After Hope ate and Elena arrived
After Hope had finished eating she went to go take a seat in the great room. After a few minutes there was noise from the door knocker which Hope had assumed meant Elena arrived. She got up and went in the direction of the door with Stefan and Rose who she had made some conversation with. After the knocking came Damon got up to go answer.
"Hello, Elena." Damon says almost as soon as he opens the door all the way.
"Stefan here? He called, said it was important." Elena asks Damon. She had ignored the greeting and gotten her necklace back somehow. Hope was curious about that since last she checked Elijah threw the necklace somewhere when he was compelling Elena.
"Right this way." Damon replies maintaining a somewhat monotone voice since the first greeting. Damon makes way for Elena to walk by and as she walks by Damon just looks at her silently.
"Hey." Stefan greets Elena.
"What is this about?" Elena asks. After she asked Stefan steps to the side so Elena can see Rose. Elena seems shocked at seeing Rose there the only response she can think of saying being, "You." This just causes Rose to give a small wave and an awkward grin.
'Why do things so awkward and sullen between everyone?' Hope wonders from her spot. She had no detailed knowledge of the relationships of this time just bits and pieces from what she read and has been told.
After a while everyone entered the Great Room so Rose could tell them the information she knows. Elena chose to sit on a couch in front of a fireplace, Damon standing behind a couch, and Stefan sitting to the left of the fire place. Rose had chosen to stand in the center and Hope had decided to stand in between the couch Elena was sitting on and the couch Damon was standing behind.
"Ok, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years. And I don't know what's true and what's not true. That's the problem with all this vampire crap. But Klaus, I know is real." Rose says to everyone, the last sentence being directed to Elena. Hope was invested in what Rose was saying about her father, so she perked up once her fathers name was mentioned.
"Who is he?" Elena asks Rose.
"One of the Originals. He's a legend." Damon responds for Rose.
"From the first generation of vampires." Stefan says continuing what Damon said.
"Like Elijah." Elena inquired.
"No. Elijah was the Easter Bunny compared to Klaus. He was a foot soldier Klaus is the real deal." Rose responds immediately to Elena's inquiries. Hope had noted that they truly believed Elijah was dead.
"Klaus is known to be the oldest." Stefan states. Hope was curious as to where he heard Klaus was the oldest, from her knowledge he should have met Elijah decades ago in Chicago and therefore should know about his siblings. She was debating on whether she should correct them but decided against it since they would question her and how she knows details.
"Ok, so you're saying that the oldest vampire in the History of time is coming after me." Elena inquires. Hope just scoffs at Elena's inquires which doesn't go unnoticed by Damon.
"No." Stefan says at the same time as Rose says, "Yes."
"What they're saying is— I mean, if what she's saying is true..." Damon begins to say.
"Which it is." Rose says during a small pause.
"And you're not just saying it, so we don't kill you..." Damon continues.
"Which I'm not." Rose says during his pause.
"Then we're looking' at a solid maybe." Damon finally says now standing next to Rose. After a few second Damon looks over at Hope to see if she has any input to add to which she just shrugs.
"Look, Elijah's dead, right?" Stefan asks no one in particular. "So no one else even knows that you exist." He says trying to calm Elena.
Hope begins to think of just how much they are underestimating the Original family. They have been around for over a thousand years, and they think that they would be killed that easily. If something has been around that long and hasn't died that means they can't be killed normally.
"Not that you know of." Rose tells Stefan.
"That's not helping." Damon tells Rose.
"Look, I've never even met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. I mean, we don't know what's real. For all we know, he could just be some sort of stupid bedtime story." Stefan says, still trying to comfort Elena.
"He's real, and he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he gets it. If you're not afraid of Klaus, then you're an idiot." Rose insists.
"All right, we're shaking. You've made your point." Damon says.
"Hope, you know what I mean right?" Rose asks Hope, with Hope being a powerful witch and all Rose guessed she would have heard of them.
"Klaus is real and some of the things Rose has said up until now are somewhat accurate." Hope says, as Elena grabs her bag, gets up, and starts walking away.
"Where are you going?" Stefan, asks as Elena just walks away.
Meanwhile, Damon grew more suspicious of Hope and who she is. Replying At that moment was not the smartest choice she has made so far, but Hope just can't get her mind off of the fact she can see her dad and might be able to get to know him. Similar to what happens to her when she thinks about Landon, her mind has been occupied with how she is going to interact with her parents and the rest of her family. Hope gets brought out of her thoughts though when Elena replies to Stefan's question saying, "School. I'm Late."
"Let me, uh— let me grab my stuff. I'll go with you." Stefan tells her as he gets up from his spot.
"That's ok. I know where it is." Elena says before leaving.
"She's in denial." Damon tells Rose just loud enough for Stefan to hear.
"Shut up, Damon." Stefan tells his brother.
"Hey, Rose." Hope says, trying to get her attention.
"Hmm." Rose hums in response letting Hope know she is listening.
"What else do you know about Klaus?" Hope asks Rose, while Damon begins to get ready for school.
"From the way you act when you hear about him, don't you already know?" Damon asks Hope. "I mean, you scoffed at certain questions and you just look like you know more than you are letting on. When you scoffed at one of Elena's questions you gave it away." Damon states sounding as if he knows all of Hope's secrets.
"That's because Klaus isn't even the oldest of his family." Hope says, however she feels uncomfortable with calling her father by her name. Once Hope says this Damon wants to hear more.
"From what you just said, you should already know about Klaus." Rose tells Hope.
"I really don't, all I know is what I have been told." Hope tells Rose.
"What have you been told?" Damon asks Hope.
"I have heard a lot of the small things about the family." Hope answering as honestly as she could. "Anyway Rose, what do you know about them?" Hope asks Rose again.
"Aren't you supposed to be in school?" Damon asks Hope for some reason not letting her hear about Klaus or the rest of her family.
"Here, go out and buy some clothes." Damon says, giving Hope some money he had on hand. Hope took the hint and left, but not without eavesdropping.
"What was that?" Rose asked Damon.
"I don't trust her, therefore we shouldn't let her learn new things about people who are going to try and kill us." Damon tells Rose in a voice low enough that a human from Hopes distance wouldn't be able to hear. After he said that she heard them walk off in a different direction.
After Hope got to the town square
'What am I supposed to do now.' Hope wondered to herself as she walked down the street towards a clothing store. 'I was planning to figure out how to destroy the Malivore pit as well as how to get back to my time.' She thinks as she walks into the clothing store.
"Hello, do you need any help with what you are looking for?" One of the retail workers asked. The retail worker looked to be a college student with black hair and brown eyes.
"I'll be fine, thank you." Hope tells the retail worker.
After around 10 to 15 minutes Hope got everything she needed. She paid and decided to go to the Grill to get her usual order. When she entered she saw Stefan and Caroline sitting at the same table. Stefan was getting prepared to leave, while Caroline looked like she was trying to get him to stay. Soon after Hope walked further in Caroline immediately noticed which caused Stefan to look over. She waved at them since she figured she would meet Lizzie and Josie's mom eventually, since Caroline had a part to play in past events.
"Do you know her?" Caroline asked Stefan.
"She is a witch we met recently." Stefan said as he motioned for Hope to come over and sitting back down in his spot. Once Hope came over she was quite happy to see Caroline even though there last meeting wasn't the best.
"A witch!" Caroline exclaims realizing her compulsion wouldn't have worked than. "I am so sorry about that." Caroline tells Hope as she sits next to them.
"Hope this is Caroline, she is also a vampire, Caroline this is Hope, she is a witch." Stefan says introducing them to each other.
"It's nice to meet you." Hope says before calling over a waiter to order her milkshake. "What were you guys talking about?" She asks looking between the two, noting Caroline's nervousness when the question was asked.
"We were just talking about the upcoming full moon." Stefan replies honestly.
Hope doesn't know what he is aiming at with his plan. He and Damon were polar opposites. Damon doesn't let her find out anything new while Stefan is more open, probably trying to make her a trustworthy ally. Their goals were just her speculation all she knew was that they wanted her to help protect Elena.
"Stefan?!" Caroline exclaims in a panicked voice.
"She might be able to help. She seems powerful." Stefan replies.
Hope figured this is a test of sorts from Stefan. He doesn't trust her that much, more than Damon, but not much. 'He probably wants to test my abilities and see how much magic I can use.' Hope thinks to herself. Caroline looks like she really does want help with whatever her problem is with the full moon, but it appears she doesn't trust me.
"Anyway, I am leaving now you both can talk it over." Stefan tells Caroline. To Hope, it had appeared that Caroline doesn't want Stefan to find out about something.
"We're you planning to leave before I came in?" Hope asked, worried she might've changed something.
"Yeah, I need to go find Elena." Stefan tells Hope. "So Caroline, well I am gone you can ask Hope for her input on this situation." He says before walking away. Caroline just groans not knowing how to handle the current situation anymore.
"Do you need a witches help?" Hope asks Caroline.
"I don't know how a witch could help in this situation." Caroline tells Hope expressing her honest opinions.
"You could tell me the situation and from that I could tell you how I could help." Hope offers Caroline. Hope wouldn't usually offer someone help, especially when this help could mess up the future, but Caroline was close with her dad and is her closest friends mom.
Caroline appears to have doubts about Hope, but she needs help with the Tyler situation, so she says, "Well, you see there is this werewolf..." Caroline begins to say slowly, "he triggered his curse and the full moon is coming up, and he is worried about what will happen." She says looking over at Hope for advice.
"Well, I can't tell you any advice to help you with the transition, but you can tell this mysterious werewolf this. Just let the pain happen, don't try to fight against it. There is no way to delay the first shift of any werewolf." Hope tells Caroline. She knows what it feels like to shift for the first time and the information she told Caroline should be harmless.
"Will that really help him?" Caroline asks Hope worriedly. "You do know a werewolf bite will kill a vampire right." Caroline says worried about what will happen to everyone.
"I know, but if he has a place where he can change and if he doesn't fight back against the pain it shouldn't be too bad." Hope tells Caroline wanting to ease her worries.
"Thanks Hope!" Caroline says happily as she places tip money. "Also sorry about before." She apologizes before she heads off.
"Here's your peanut butter blast whip cream on the bottom." A waiter says placing down Hopes drink.
After Hope had finished her drink she went back to the boarding house and began searching to see if they had any books that would be useful for her. Hope didn't find anything to useful but there were a few books on myths that she decided to read after going through the research she has done so far. She had a bunch of papers that she had compiled in the few days she has been here but a lot of them were dead ends. She was able to bring all her research to the boarding house and had put them in her room, but to make sure people didn't find out she put a cloaking spell on the stuff. After a while of looking through her research she decided to go to sleep.
The next day
Hope had woken up before everyone in the boarding house. She knew this because when she went out into the hallway it was silent. Since she woke up so early she decided to get ready and start her research on myths and has decided to see if she can find a way to move Malivore's location for the time being when she goes back. She didn't have any of the right materials to find a spell to send her back to the future. Hope only came back to the boarding house after a few hours of research.
When Hope got inside she heard voices from the great room, so she went to go check it out. When she entered she saw Stefan, Damon, a witch she recognizes as Bonnie, and another guy who she can't seem to remember seeing. When she got close enough she heard the guy say, "Let me do it. I've got my ring. I can get in, get out, no spells necessary."
"Gee thanks, you 16-year-old child. Why didn't we think about that. Why are you even here!" Damon asks before noticing Hopes presence. "Look who decided to show up." He tells Hope, causing everyone in the room to look at her.
"Who are you?" Bonnie asks Hope.
"My name is Hope." She replies.
"Are you?" The mystery guy asks, Hope figures he wants to know if she is supernatural.
"I am a witch. Who are you both?" Hope asks Bonnie and the mystery guy. She already knows who Bonnie is, but she doesn't recognize the other.
"My name is Bonnie, I am also a witch." She says holding her hand out for Hope to shake.
"My name is Jeremy." The mystery guy replies.
"It's nice to meet you both." Hope tells them deciding to shake hands with Bonnie. When Bonnie and Hope shake hands Bonnie gets this panicked expression and quickly pulls back her hand. "What are you guys up to?" Hope asks deciding to ignore Bonnie's actions, however they are curious about what just happened.
"We need to get the moonstone from a tomb." Stefan says.
"You are a witch, could you help her." Jeremy says trying to see if Hope could help.
"I think I can help better the plan." Bonnie says, seeming somewhat against working with Hope. "Do you have anything that belongs to Katherine?" Bonnie asks the Salvatore brothers. Stefan soon leaves to go grab something. During the time Stefan was gone Bonnie just stared at Hope with this trance like expression.
"This belonged to Katherine. Found it with her things after I thought she was dead, but it was hers." Stefan says, handing a photo of Katherine to Bonnie.
Bonnie sets it down in a metal bowl and begins the spell. She had dipped her fingers in water and had held them over the photo before a fire began. Bonnie began chanting in Latin, "Terra Mora Vantis, Quo Incandis."
"What will this do?" Damon asks Bonnie. Hope decides this would be a good time to sneak off and avoid involvement. So she leaves and heads off somewhere quiet to relax from everything, wishing she could wolf out to ease some stress.
In the present
Both Lizzie and Josie could be seen on a bus to New Orleans to try and find Hope's aunt. They both have no idea why no tracking spells are working, because even if Hope cloaked herself there would still be some small sign if you used the right spells. Josie and Lizzie didn't want Hope to be gone they had both grown close to Hope since everything happened. Josie might've been mad about the whole forgetting memories thing, but she still cared for Hope, same with Lizzie however she wasn't really mad. They were going to arrive in New Orleans soon to begin their search for Freya Mikaelson.
