Hello Readers: Another day, another set of chapters for you guys. I hope you guys enjoyed the first two chapters that I wrote (and posted) for you guys yesterday. I also hope that you guys enjoy the concept of this story. Now, I want to let you know that I already have a route (somewhat) planned out. However, I do want to stay this. I will be taking ideas as to where to send them next, and I will try and make a schedule based on that. If you have requests for where to send them next, let me know; and I will do my best to get them there. But for now, let's just get started on chapter three. Enjoy the story.

Also, sorry this chapter is so short. I just really liked where this chapter ended, so I decided to leave it as is.

Chapter Three

It did feel a bit weird, them sitting at this table eating some of the breakfast that Gabby just made for the both of them while Matt packed up the RV; the RV that would be their home for the next couple months (or year). The RV where they would (from now on) share breakfast together each and every morning, at least if they didn't kill each other first. (Kidding). They already both agreed that they would talk a lot, and try and not have too many arguments when it came to them being in the RV. After all, that was what they needed to do so that they could get through this trip in one piece (both in regards to their bodies and their relationship). But, at the same time, this feeling that the both of them were having was a bit strange. Sure, Gabby experienced a similar feeling before she left to go to Puerto Rico; enjoying one last breakfast with Matt before she left. But this time, they were going to be leaving Chicago together; and they were coming back for certain, it was sure.

And that, that was something that Matt was quite happy about; and it's something that he wants to share with his wife, how he's feeling really good about just how much fun the trip is going to be; and how he feels like this is something that they should've done this past summer. It's something that he's always wondered about; whether she would've liked to do this months earlier than they're doing it now. Whether she would've rather spent time together over the summer, going multiple places rather than going to Puerto Rico; or if she thinks that she still would've gone to Puerto Rico. Well, there's only one way to find out; and that's to ask Gabby what she thinks about that question that he currently has in his head. But before he could ask her that question, Gabby had a question for him. "You packed coffee right?" Matt snickered when Gabby asked him whether he made sure to pack some coffee for their road trip. "Oh trust me, I packed some coffee."

Taking another bite of his breakfast, Matt smiled as he continued speaking to his beautiful wife. "I packed a bunch of coffee for our trip due to the fact that I'm well are of the fact that we're going to need some, especially me." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she went ahead and grabbed his hand; the hand of the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. The man she (hopes) to one day have a family with; but for now, they need to work on their marriage. "So, I saw you looking on your iPad today. What were you looking at?" Gabby smiled, before laughing a bit when he mentioned what she was looking at on her iPad. And just what might that be? An app that she's a bit embarrassed about, as she doesn't know whether he's going to be open to them using it on their trip; however, she hopes that he does want to use it…as she believes that it will really help them communicate while they're on their road trip with each other.

But first, let's just ease into that. "Well, I was of course looking at destinations that we can go to." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling at her before letting go of her hand; he then went ahead with cutting some more of his eggs and proceeding to take a bite of them. "And I was also looking at an app that I found, an app that I think I want to use." Matt looked up at Gabby when she said that. "What type of app?" Gabby took a breath as she looked at Matt. "It's an app that prompts us with questions to start conversations about our relationship every once and a while. I'm not sure if you want to do that, or if you want it to flow naturally…" Matt smiled at Gabby when she said that, liking the idea as it really does sound like exactly what they need right now. "The truth is Gabby, I actually really like that idea." Gabby was a bit shocked/taken aback when she heard Matt say that he liked the idea of them using the app during their trip. "Really?" Matt smiled.

"Why, did you think that I was going to be against using the app?" Gabby took a breath when Matt asked her whether she thought that he was going to be against them using the app. "I wasn't sure whether you were going to be a big fan of the idea, using an app to tell us what we should talk about rather than have it happen naturally. It's…" Matt smiled at his beautiful wife when she said that. "It's perfect." Gabby just looked at Matt when he said that. "Really?" Matt nodded. "It'll give us ideas for stuff that we need to talk about, heck it may even bring up things that we may not even realize that we need to talk about. I mean, there has to be some things that you want to talk to me about that you haven't brought up yet." Gabby took a breath when she heard Matt say that, as there are still things they need to talk about. "We can wait a while to talk about a baby if you want." Matt looked at her when she said that, smiling at her. "We can do it slowly."

Gabby sighed as she heard Matt say that, really wanting to talk about it; even though she said that they can wait. "Matt, can you at least promise me something?" Matt nodded when Gabby asked him that. "Of course, I can baby, what is it?" Gabby took a breath, as she was nervous. "I know you're scared, and the truth is…I'm scared of the possibility too. But, at the same time; I don't want to stop being intimate with my husband." Matt nodded. "Hey, are you worried that I'm going to want to stop being intimate with you just because of the aneurysm? I'm pretty sure that both last night…and this morning proved otherwise." Gabby took a breath and nodded, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Yeah, it sure was great. But I mean, what if it happens Matt? I don't want to talk about it yet, but I want to talk about it at some point; or we can do it today. I want to know whether I need to think about contraception every time we make love." Matt sighed when she said that.

"That really is on your mind isn't it?" Gabby sighed as she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "Matt, it has to be. You don't want me to get pregnant, yet I want to experience this…you know what, not yet." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling at the woman he loves. "How about this Gabby…we leave it up to faith okay? We take it easy and just relax. If it happens, then we can revisit the conversation." Gabby took a breath, agreeing with the man she loves more than anything. "Do you really mean that?" Matt agreed with Gabby when she asked him (if it happens), if they can revisit the conversation of her being pregnant. "Gabby let's just figure it out. I'm not going to lose you over this. I just got you back." Gabby agreed with her loving husband when he said that, smiling as she got up. She then got close to him and then leaned in to kiss him softly this morning. "I love you." Matt agreed with her, smiling. "I love you too." Gabby then smirked.

"So, how about we talk about something. What's our first destination? Or at least, our first direction?" Matt smiled when Gabby asked him that. "What do you say we start by going to Boston? Then, we can make our way down I-95 to Miami?" Gabby smiled when Matt asked her that. "I actually like that idea. To tell you the truth, I was going to say that I wanted to go to New York City first; but your idea sounds much better, for us to go to Boston and then go down the east coast." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that. "It's less expensive than having to go to New York City, and then go back up to Boston; then, we go right through New York City again." Gabby smirked and agreed with Matt when he said that. "Yeah, that does make more sense. Now, are you driving the entire way?" Matt shrugged. "We can see what happens." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling at the man of her dreams. "I want to start by going to the firehouse."

Matt smiled when he heard Gabby say that she wants to start at the firehouse. "To say goodbye?" Gabby smiled. "Oh wait, aren't they off shift?" Matt smiled at her, nodding. "I think they are. But we can always call them, we got up early after all." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as they both ate breakfast together ahead of their nice journey that they're about to embark on. And the truth was, Gabby was quite excited for the journey that we're going to take together. It's going to be exactly what they need. They just need to have fun with each other, and take it easy as they both reconnect. "I want that lingerie that you're wearing tonight." Gabby laughed when she heard Matt say that, agreeing with him when he said that. "Oh, how did I expect that you were going to say something like that?" Matt smirked. "Because you love me, and want to give me exactly what I want in life." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, sighing as she looked at him.

"And that's why I want to get pregnant baby. You're going to be such a good dad, and I want to be the one who gets pregnant with our child." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, completely understanding that fact. So, they are definitely going to have to talk about it. "And you aren't okay with anything else." Gabby nodded. "Especially adoption, I am not with that. I want a biological child." Matt nodded as he grabbed her hand, smiling at her. "I promise, we'll talk about it. But one thing I do know, is that the traffic isn't going to get any lighter if we leave later." Gabby laughed when she heard Matt say that, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear as he told her that. "And you think that I want to leave later than we have to? Baby, I want to leave as soon as we can so that we can be out of here; so that we can go have fun with each other." Matt nodded, smiling at her. "However, don't be shocked if I do some courses on our trip." Gabby looked at Matt.

"What are you talking about baby?" Matt smiled. "I may have spoke to Boden before we left, and I asked him if…while I'm on our trip, if I can start some Chief courses to get certified." Gabby was shocked when she heard Matt say that. "You want to become a certified Battalion Chief?" Matt shrugged when he heard Gabby ask him that. "I don't know, I'm looking into it. What would you think if I did that?" Gabby smiled when she heard Matt say that, going to stroke his hand with her thumb. "I did always tell you that you'd be a great Chief. And it would make me Ms. Chief Casey." Matt laughed. "If you ever take my name." Gabby took a breath when she heard Matt say that. "Baby, can I ask you something?" Matt looked at her. "Did it ever bother you that I never took your last name?" Matt sighed when she asked him that question, trying to avoid it. But the truth was, it did bother him a bit. Whenever he gets their bills, it says Mr. Matthew Casey and Ms. Gabriela Dawson.

"Would you be offended if it did bother me?" Gabby just looked at her husband when he asked her that. "First conversation?" Matt agreed with Gabby when she asked him if he wants it to be their first conversation. "Yes please."
