Disclaimer! I do not own Frozen/Disney
This update is a delayed one. I suddenly got sick for almost 3 weeks and I don't even know how it happened. Anyway I recovered so I finished this chapter last night and now I am updating! Haha
Also I took this chance to changed the cover photo of this fic. The old one was wonky, especially Elsa's face so I drew her a new face and it came out nicely. I always forget to edit that particular fan art I made for this fic lol. I haven't drawn any ELSANNA content for a long time (my bad :p). I fell in the Encanto rabbit hole so yeah, that's what happened.
Anyways, the reviews I've read were so fun to read. Gosh I couldn't still believe that this fic is receiving so much love from you guys. It makes me happy I can give you guys some frozen content in small ways. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!
For now the characters were on different locations and doing their own things but you guys might have a hint when are they going to be together, all of them. I am still deciding what would happen if that happened :)
Soooooo here some ELSANNA content. I hope you'll like it! Enjoy ;)
In the middle of the forest were men gathered around the campfire, their weapons were at their sides as they discussed the plan on how they would approach everyone involved in that dinner hosted by Baroness Gothel. Olaf had a pretty neat list of people who were present at dinner and it was so satisfying to see them scrambling out of the Stabbington estate in a rush. He could feel the thrill in his bones as he watched those men pack up their things and abandon whatever deal they made with the Baroness.
Olaf couldn't believe his own luck, he sent that severed head just to see that family run like headless chickens and make a reckless decision to immediately try another assassination against the Queen or the Duchess. What he didn't expect was to witness such chaos of people running as if Hel herself was chasing after them to drag them down to the underworld. He had them all followed to know the nature of their connection to the Stabbingtons and what he found had made him so excited. The people on his list were either corrupt minor nobles, wealthy but shady merchants, and mercenaries. It took a week to gather information from all of them and now he would fill the Eldr Castle dungeon with them.
"Okay boys. Let the hunt begin." Olaf grinned and led the men to the hunt of his lifetime.
During the week after the lunch in the garden, Elsa corresponded constantly with her cousin about the possible trade between Emerald Isle and was chastised heavily through letter by her cousin for relinquishing the vast holdings of the Eldr Duchy to Anna without informing her beforehand since it was vital to the plan. Elsa couldn't just take it back but without it they would have a slight problem if they would proceed with the trade, but she needed funds to raise an army and double the size of her fleet. Arendelle couldn't and wouldn't survive with borrowed military force, it should have its own standing army.
Her cousin was brilliant in so many ways but she should stop nagging, even on letters she was worse.
Elsa sighed as she placed her hand under her chin to ponder what she should do about this minor hiccup on their plan. She could order Anna to have the Duchy give what was required but she wouldn't do that, she wouldn't pull a rank on her Duchess.
"Everything okay?"
Elsa looked up from the letter to Anna, who was now putting down her quill.
"Just some trade matters."
"By the pensive look you had, I bet it's not just some trade matters." Anna perched her chin on her propped hand.
"Probably." Elsa paused. "It actually involves Eldr Duchy."
"Oh?"
"I received a letter days ago about some trade with the Emerald Isle."
Anna's eyes were filled with horror.
"No! That man was horrible! My Grandfa- the former Duke Eldr had banned them from entering ArenFjord because the Prince was attacking different kingdoms without any reason. He killed a lot of people for his own amusement!"
Elsa held Anna's hand to calm her down.
"Apparently he was recently deposed by his own sister, who is now the current Princess and ruler of Emerald Isle." Elsa caressed the back of Anna's hand with her thumb. "From what I heard, she's kind, merciful and loved by her people, a complete opposite of her brother." she watched Anna let out a sigh of relief.
"I didn't know he had a sister." Anna mumbled.
"She's actually a half-sister, hidden away for years and only revealed to be a royal once he needed a bargaining chip to have more army to his bloody games."
"Then how did she avoid getting married?"
"She ran away and came back with an army." Elsa simply stated but deep inside she felt for the princess, because their situation was similar.
Elsa was forced out of her home and came back with an army.
"That was so brave of her." Anna was giving her a certain look she couldn't decipher.
"Indeed."
Elsa was so deep in thought that she missed how Anna stood up from her chair and sat on the arm of Elsa's chair. Anna lifted her chin and gave her a soft gentle kiss, surprising the hell out of Elsa.
Elsa blinked at what just happened. She was caught off guard.
"I know Elsa." Anna situated herself on Elsa's lap and wrapped her arms around her neck. "Is this okay?"
Elsa's response was wrapping her own arms around Anna's waist.
"You were thinking of how the princess and you weren't that much different, situation wise."
"How did you know?" Elsa's brows furrowed.
"You went silent on me and you have this sadness in your eyes that I've become accustomed to. You have that look whenever it is personally related to you. I know we don't talk about anything that has to do with the past, we can talk about them if you want, or never talk about them at all. It's up to you. I just want you to know that I am here to listen whenever you are ready." Anna buried her face on the crook of Elsa's neck and whispered. "I know we were just starting to get to know each other but I already care for you much more than anyone I know." Elsa could feel Anna's grip on her clothes tightened. "I want you to be happy, free from the sadness of the past, I know it's not going to be easy but I am here for you, always."
Elsa's heart tightened as if someone gripped it so tightly.
That word.
Always
I promise that I'll always be here for the two of you.
Those were her brother's words just days before he died. He promised that they would be together, the three of them, always, but they didn't, Elsa was left alone. She was alone. She became an orphan. Fear creeping up inside her as she tightened her hold on Anna. She feared that Anna might leave her too.
"Elsa?"
Elsa didn't respond but before Anna could see Elsa's face, she felt something wet land on her cheek.
"Elsa?!" Anna sounded alarmed, rightly so because Elsa was looking at her blankly as tears rolled down her eyes. Her usual beautiful icy blue eyes became dull. "What's wrong?" Anna wiped Elsa's tears.
Anna's touch helped to snap Elsa out of her daze. She wasn't even aware that she was crying.
"Nothing's wrong." Elsa responded calmly but in truth she wanted to escape this place and be alone. If it weren't for Anna sitting on her lap, she would bolt out.
"Elsa." Anna's tone was pleading.
Elsa bit the inside of her cheek and hesitated.
"Alright, I'll drop it." Anna kissed the side of Elsa's head then loosen her hold on Elsa and pried Elsa's arms off her and got up, only to be pulled back in.
"Wait. Stay." Elsa nuzzled her nose against Anna's neck. "I'm sorry, it's just you and my brother who said the similar thing. I couldn't help but remember him saying those words to me and my little sister." she felt Anna's hand on her hair. "He said he'd always be there for us always. . . we looked up to him, even if he's annoying most of the time. He was kind, you know. He liked to bicker with us and fight with us like normal siblings would and he's petty and childish." she chuckled a bit. "But when other children, noble children, would bully my sister and I then they have one angry protective Vinter boy coming for them."
"He seemed nice to have around."
"You say that because you don't know how annoying he was." Elsa argued, earning a smile from Anna.
"It would've been nice to have a sibling." Anna said.
"It was." Elsa placed a kiss on Anna's jaw. "As I've said before, you would've liked him."
Anna leaned her head on Elsa's chest.
"Thank you Anna, for your kind words." Elsa stroked Anna's jawline with the back of her index finger. "Talking about my past is hard. I may suddenly close off myself from you or from everyone whenever I think about it but please know that the amount of care and affection I have towards you wouldn't lessen. I truly appreciate what you are doing for me, you said those words because you care for me not because you have to. I do care for you too Anna." far more than you know. She kissed Anna's forehead. "I'll listen to whatever you want to share with me no matter how serious or silly it is." Anna giggled at that.
"Sure will."
Elsa smiled.
"You are giving me so much comfort that I haven't felt in a long time. I lost count on how many times I smile in a day, wherein prior meeting you I could go on days without a single smile on my lips but with you? It was impossible not to."
"What can I say? I am just that good at making you smile." Anna grinned arrogantly.
"It is because I like you, that's why." Elsa retorted with a smile. "So I want you to be happy as well, we're in this together so we'll do things together. Everything should go both ways."
Anna gave her a long peck on the lips before kissing her cheek.
"Then we should work together with this current problem of yours." Anna stated. "So what can I do for this trade agreement?"
Elsa explained to Anna how the Emerald Isle needed food for its people no matter the price as long as they would survive the coming winter. Arendelle was amenable to negotiations when it came to how much the entire goods would cost. Elsa also explained where the money would go once the trade was done.
"We need to build an army and fleet so we can protect ourselves, and also refurnish the other buildings such as infirmaries, orphanages, and other structures needed for the coming winter. I wouldn't want our subjects to sleep in the cold while we keep ourselves warm in the castle."
"Say no more, Eldr Duchy is going to help." Anna grinned.
"Thank you." Elsa held Anna closer.
"Anytime, although I require another way of thank you." a sly grin was on Anna's lips.
"Pray tell." Elsa said.
Anna bit her lower lip to stop herself from smiling too much. "I think you know what."
"I don't." Elsa responded with a teasing smile. "Tell me what you want and it's yours."
"You're seriously going to make me say it." Anna grumbled.
"Definitely." Elsa grinned.
Anna playfully glared at her before gripping the lapels of her coat and kissed her so deep, making Elsa gasp in surprise.
The kiss was soft and gentle, Elsa placed her hand on Anna's nape and pulled her closer. Anna's response was straddling on Elsa's lap and tilted her head a little bit to deepen the kiss even more.
Elsa's body started to feel warm as they kissed. Her other hand was placed on Anna's hip, while the other moved from Anna's nape to run itself on Anna's loose hair.
They pulled away and panted.
"I don't mind ah helping if I get that as a thank you." Anna panted as her hands slid from Elsa's lapels up to her shoulders.
"Then I don't mind showing how grateful I am." Elsa nosed the side of Anna's neck. "May I?" she whispered.
"Yes please." The moment those words escaped Anna's lips, Elsa immediately latched her lips on the side of Anna's neck. Anna's eyes fluttered close at the sensation.
Elsa wanted to do this for a long time, she wasn't sure if she could after all that happened but here she was, showering Anna with love bites. She was so fascinated whenever Anna would style her hair into a bun because her delicate neck was exposed, beckoning Elsa to litter it with kisses. Her self-control was always hanging by a thread whenever Anna was by her side.
She nipped and suckled on the sweet spot of Anna's neck, making the strawberry blonde haired woman let out a noise that made a certain part of herself make itself known.
Both of them gasped as Anna subconsciously lowered herself on Elsa's lap.
Elsa had stopped whatever she was doing and looked at each other in shock.
"W-What was that? Do you carry a dagger in your person?" Anna asked as her eyes trained from her down to her lap but Anna's dress was obstructing whatever it was.
"Anna-" Elsa couldn't begin to explain what just transpired. She wanted to die in embarrassment. "No I don't." She answered Anna's question. Her neck was red as well as the tip of her ears.
"Then what was-" Elsa knew that it dawned to Anna what it was. "Oh." the strawberry blonde woman turned red at the realization.
Yes oh.
Elsa wasn't sure what she'd do.
A series of knocks was heard and both of them frantically tried to make themselves presentable. Anna scrambled out of her lap in haste, thankfully, before Elsa took off her coat and draped it on her lap.
The door revealed Marshall.

The dummy on the training ground was barely recognizable as it was badly mutilated by a bear-like man, who was wielding his sword with a certain glint in his eyes. His upper clothes were long abandoned in favor of training half-naked, displaying his battle scars. The breeze was cold but he wasn't bothered by it, but what had bothered him most was staying in this place longer than necessary.
He raised his sword and completely obliterated the dummy.
Huffing, he turned to another one because he needed to blow some steam after everything that happened, after everything he witnessed.
Marshall could live without seeing certain things but he made a mistake of strolling in the garden that day. Sure, the Queen could kiss whoever she wanted but damn it all, he didn't expect to see the person he looked up to looking like a love struck fool. He couldn't even ask anything personal without being riled up with his own questions so he kept his mouth shut.
All he knew was that it was necessary to do that but it felt like it was not pretending anymore. He felt betrayed for being excluded on whatever unsavory things happening, especially his brother was in it and even his usually passive cousin was freaking invested in their relationship. He couldn't take it but he had to endure.
He growled and struck the dummy with so much force that it flew a few feet from him.
"That woman. . ." he growled. That strawberry blonde woman's presence had ruined everything he wanted to preserve.
"Hey–"
He turned with a growl and swung his sword but it was blocked easily by a scabbard.
"What's wrong with you?" Eric asked.
Marshall huffed and moved away.
"What do you want?" he clearly knew that the Queen was with that woman again if Eric had time roaming around the place.
"I was watching you and you seemed. . . angry."
"You think?"
"Why?"
Marshall glared at his cousin. "Being stuck in this godforsaken place is why. When are we going actually leave this hellish place?"
"In a couple of days, until the preparations are ready."
Marshall scoffed. "You can just take them and behead them, end of story." he took his shirt and coat.
"We could but your brother has a flair for dramatics."
Marshall was annoyed. "We've been here for days! Almost two weeks since we arrived here. Do you really expect them not to make any counter attacks against us?! If it weren't for that damn woman distracting Her Majesty we could've been back to the capital in no time!" his tone the way he addressed Elsa was dripping with sarcasm, earning a cold look from Eric.
"Watch your words." Eric warned.
Marshall's jaw clenched in anger. He looked away but his grip on his clothes was getting tighter as seconds passed.
The cousins were silent, cautious that one wrong word would turn into a fight.
"Sir!"
Both Eric and Marshall turned to the man as he reached them.
"Letters from the castle and from the lost boys." Marshall immediately took the two letters and one rolled parchment.
Before he unrolled the small parchment, he noticed a familiar lilac envelope with an orchid wax seal. He immediately put on his clothes as he walked, ignoring his cousin's calls.
He smiled at the lilac envelope but soon his smile turned grim as he read the content of the rolled parchment.
King Arkyn didn't come back to his kingdom, one of the lost boys spotted his ship on the docks of the Grand Duchy of Atlan. -A
What could he possibly be doing there? Marshall thought. He made a quick detour to his room and wrote a response, telling his men to continue to observe and if possible they should gather more information as to why and what King Arkyn's business there.
He rolled the parchment and passed it to the man who was waiting for him.
Marshall needed to search for the Queen and he had some inkling where she was.
He knocked three times before he opened the library door.
Marshall observed the scene in front of him, the Queen in a healthy tinge of red while sitting on the chair and the other woman next to her had her head bowed with her hand on her lips, looking away with an obvious blush on her face. It took all Marshall's self-control to not to say anything.
"Letters from the castle." Marshall bowed to the Queen and raised two different colored envelopes. He passed them to the Queen, completely ignoring the other woman.
The Queen opened the letter that came from her cousin. "Hmm. She needed my permission to proceed on the trade between the Emerald Isle and Arendelle."
Marshall watched the Queen write a response.
"Marshall, do you mind opening the balcony doors?"
Marshall did what Elsa asked and he was greeted by a cold gust of wind entering the room. Some of the papers were blown away but Elsa didn't mind, in fact she looked relieved.
"Since Duchess Eldr agreed to let her produce be added to the trade then we'll proceed." the Queen had a small smile. It was subtle but it was more than enough to make Marshall's hand twitch, itching to reach for his sword.
The Queen sealed the letter and gave it to him.
He didn't want to leave because he was waiting for the Queen's reaction to the lilac letter. Marshall almost smirked the moment the Queen breathed in the scent of the lilac envelope.
A wide smile broke into the Queen's lips, earning a curious and with a hint of jealousy from the strawberry blonde woman.
"I'll have this sent to the castle post haste." Marshall exited with a massive smirk on his face.
In the same week they straightened out what was needed for the Duchy to run itself without her presence. The men chosen for its administration were Lord LaBouff, Lord Nolan and Lord Bjorgman. These men were loyal to the blood of Eldr and Anna was confident they wouldn't fail her unlike those three who were severely punished by flogging and the confiscation of all of their lands and wealth, while their families were exiled as soon as possible.
Both her and the Queen were reviewing and analyzing the last of the ledgers, so most of the weeks they stayed in the library working and of course had little breaks like tea and uh other things.
The Queen was gentle and aggressive at the same time and always left Anna breathless every time they kissed. Just like what happened earlier, before Marshall came in.
She knew that the General hated her, it was in his body language. Anna ignored his disrespect when it came to her, he didn't even bother to give the respect her new status required. It didn't bother Anna. No, not at all.
What bothered her that moment was the Queen's carefree smile after smelling the lilac letter. Anna pursed her lips and just watched the Queen open the letter with an easy expression on her face.
Anna wondered who might've sent the letter for the Queen to act like this. She was kind of jealous that a simple letter could elicit such joy from the Queen.
She heard the Queen speak a language she wasn't familiar with.
"Letter from a friend?" Anna tried to sound casual but in reality her curiosity was killing her.
"Yes. It has been years since we last saw each other and a year since we exchanged letters." the Queen took Anna's hand and led her to the chaise and made her sit next to her. While the coat was draped again on the Queen's lap.
"I'm not sure if you know her language."
Her? So it was a woman.
The Queen showed the letter to her but she couldn't understand a thing but what bothered her was the pressed white orchid within the folds of the letter, and it was signed by an italicized I. Anna couldn't help but to feel mixed emotions.
The flower bothered her so much.
Flowers were Elsa's thing–their thing–, not that Elsa wasn't allowed to receive flowers, this was different, it was far more intimate.
"I'm sorry but I don't understand anything." and she didn't even know the meaning behind the flower.
"Oh alright. I'll tell you what she said. She was asking how I was and if I survived." the Queen chuckled. That chuckle struck a nerve on Anna. "Apparently she was part of a royal delegation representing her family in the Emerald Isle."
"She's royal?" Anna asked.
"Yes. The eldest of the grandchildren of Queen Alma of Encanto. Princesa Isabela of House Madrigal."
That didn't ease Anna's awful feeling in her chest.
"I haven't heard of her family."
The Queen nuzzled on her hair.
"She wanted to visit before she went back home since the Emerald Isles is only a few days' travel, and their kingdom was so far away."
Anna closed her eyes as the Queen's breaths were fanning her neck. "How did you two meet?"
"Back in Corona. Her mother brought her with their delegation for trade. I was about ten or eleven when we met. Not yet too jaded to make a friend." certain coldness on the Queen's tone.
Whatever awful feeling Anna felt at the moment was set aside and wrapped her arms around the Queen.
"I'm glad you made a friend." Anna said in all honesty. Ignoring the nagging feeling of the green eyed monster lurking somewhere.
"Other than my cousins, she was one of the people who somehow understood me. We were kind of in the same situation as a child, even now I guess. We couldn't make choices of our own." the Queen kissed Anna's cheek. "You're the only good thing that came out of this alliance those old men made."
Those words brought a smile to Anna's lips.
"I feel the same sentiment." Anna kissed the tip of the Queen's nose. "So you're going to allow her to visit?"
"Of course. I want you to meet her." the Queen smiled. "And I want her to meet my wife." the Queen caressed Anna's face. "Perhaps have her stay until our official wedding."
Ten shades of red graced Anna's face.
"Oh Darling." Anna said before she could realize what she said. "Sorry, that came out of nowhere." she chuckled awkwardly.
"I like it." the Queen gave her a soft smile while looking into her eyes. "Kjæreste."
"What does that mean?" Anna asked.
"The northern way of saying Darling." the Queen leaned her forehead against Anna's and whispered. "Eres tan hermosa."
"Did you say something?" Anna whispered.
Elsa only smiled and gave her a short kiss on her lips.
The mishap that afternoon was never mentioned again, for both of their sakes.
Days later
Baroness Gothel had scared her supposed allies after they saw the severed head, almost all of them were refusing her visits, and her letters were left unanswered. The only ones who were left on her side were the Tremaines, who had personal grudge against the Queen and the good for nothing Duchess. But they weren't enough to make her cause plausible. She needed more allies so she sent a series of letters to one family she could count on.
Lady Giselle and her mother were minding their own business but letters came every other day asking for something impossible.
"Just ignore them mother. They needed me because I am their blood but I would rather stay away."
"They are threatening you if you don't comply with their demands!" her mother worriedly stated.
"Just let them. I don't want to get mixed up with whatever hellish ideas they have since I heard a rumor of someone sending Baroness Gothel a severed head as a warning for whatever dumb thing they did." Giselle closed her book and put it back on the shelf.
"What do you want me to do?" her mother asked.
"Nothing. They won't get what they want from me. I won't, in any circumstances, ally myself with them just to have the Duchy or whatever riches they think they would have. They are all greedy bastards." Giselle left their library, however her mother had other plans.
Lady Giselle's mother took a blank parchment and wrote a letter.
"I know you won't forgive me for this but it's for your own good."
That night Anna was preparing the last of the ledgers and compiled them before she prepared for the things they would need for their journey. As she exited the room a page was waiting for her, holding a silver tray with a letter on top of it.
"Good evening, Your Grace." the man bowed.
"For me?" Anna asked. No one had written to her before.
"Yes, Your Grace." Anna took the letter and dismissed the page.
"Who's this?" she looked at the crest on the wax seal, it was the first time she saw it.
Anna returned to the library and took the letter knife on the desk.
Once the envelope was open she took the letter and read it.
"Your Grace,
Please forgive my impertinence of writing to you directly. I am Lady Narissa of House Andalasia. My daughter, Giselle, mentioned that she met and talked to you for a short time. I am quite certain that my daughter spoke only on how kind and gentle you were despite knowing her bloodline. I wouldn't dare to write if it weren't for her, my daughter is in danger and I need your help. Her half-brothers were forcing her to join their cause against you and she refused to have anything to do with them. The Stabbingtons would stop at nothing to get what they want. Please, Your Grace, help me protect my daughter.
Sincerely,
Lady Narissa"
"So what will you do?"
Anna was startled and turned only to see Elsa behind her.
"Elsa! Gods, you scared me." Anna placed her hand on her racing heart.
"The door was open so I thought a thief got in, I didn't expect to see you here at this time of night."
"I was just compiling the ledgers when this letter came." Anna took deep breaths to calm herself down. Elsa seemed to notice and wrapped her arms around her.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you." she felt Elsa's lips on her forehead. "You were so absorbed in reading that letter, that you didn't notice me coming in." Elsa's hands were gently caressing her back.
"It's okay." Anna rested her head on Elsa's chest.
They were like that for quite some time until Anna had calmed down.
"This woman, Giselle, from what you had told me she's kind to you. Correct?"
Anna nodded. "Yes and she didn't want to be tied up with the Eldr name."
Elsa pulled away from the embrace and caressed Anna's face.
"Whatever you want to do about her, you have my full support. If you decided to help her, then I would too."
Anna's brows furrowed. "Why? She's an Eldr."
"Anna, the way you speak as if I despise all Eldrs." Elsa frowned but Anna gave her a bored knowing look. "Okay fine. I did. But if your safety and status isn't threatened by them and didn't disrespect you then I would let it them be but I would slaughter anyone who would mean any harm to you."
"I know." Anna held Elsa's hand.
"Kjæreste, I-" Elsa's eyes were filled with warmth and something else Anna couldn't decipher. "I want you to be safe. If helping House Andalasia will not harm you in any way then I am here for you, whatever you decide."
"Thank you." Anna gave Elsa a warm hug. "I'll respond to her letter now so we can plan on what we would do, especially against the Stabbingtons."
"Of course. I'll wait for you."
Anna quickly wrote a response and immediately sent a messenger so the letter would reach Lady Narissa in time.
"Now that's done, why don't we go to sleep?"
"Sure, yours or mine?"
"Elsa we've been sleeping in your room for weeks now"
"Okay then." Anna let out a squeak as Elsa swept her off her feet and carried her bridal style.
"What are you doing?" Anna asked.
"I just feel like it." Elsa smiled and exited the room.
"What if someone sees us?"
"No one is awake at this time of night." Elsa explained. "So I can carry my wife however I want without their prying eyes."
Anna blushed and leaned her head on Elsa's shoulder.
"It's the first time you carried me like this." Anna offhandedly mentioned as she wrapped her arms around Elsa's neck.
"Second time actually." Elsa softly responded.
"What?" Elsa's warmth was making Anna sleepy. She snuggled into Elsa more.
"The first time when I carried you to my room on the night of my coronation you were fast asleep."
Anna then remembered waking up in an unfamiliar room.
"Oh right." she snuggled more.
"And you did the same thing back then." Elsa chuckled.
"What thing?"
"That. Snuggling to me as I carried you."
"Can't help it. Warm." Anna's response was getting shorter.
Elsa blush but smiled.
"You still have to change your clothes, I already dismissed Wendy for the night so don't sleep before doing so."
Anna's eyes fluttered close as they neared Elsa's room. "Hmm."
They entered Elsa's room and she was gently placed on the bed.
"Kjæreste, wake up. You have to change into your sleeping clothes or else you'll complain how uncomfortable it was." Elsa shook her gently.
"Okay." Anna responded but her eyes were still closed. She was sleepy since she worked all day.
"Anna."
Anna heard rustling of clothes, indicating Elsa was changing into her sleeping clothes.
"Okay. It's either you wake up and change or I'll change your clothes for you." Elsa offered, more like threatened.
Anna groaned. "Why did you dismiss Wendy?" she sat up, got past Elsa, and dragged herself behind the changing screen. She tried to reach for the laces on back but couldn't unlace them. She groaned in frustration.
"Elsa. I am sleepy and I can't get these laces to cooperate! Help please." Anna grumpily stated.
Series of chuckles made Anna even grumpier.
"Elsa!" Anna called.
"Don't be too loud." Elsa whispered in her ear, startling her.
"Elsa! Stop doing that!" Anna swatted Elsa's arm.
"Sorry, sorry." Elsa laughed. "I didn't mean to. It's not my fault you weren't paying any attention. Well at least you're wide awake now." she busied herself on unlacing Anna's dress.
"My heart leapt because of you!" Anna grumbled.
"And my heart does the same because of you." Elsa responded, making Anna turn and look at Elsa.
"What?"
"The laces are done, I believe you can undress by yourself unless. . ."
"Right." Anna blushed. "Go. I can manage from here. Thank you."
"Anytime." Elsa kissed her crown and went away.
As Anna changed, her mind was still reeling from Elsa's words. What did she mean by that? Was she just being playful or something else?
Once she was finished, Elsa was already under the covers. Anna got on her side of the bed and immediately snuggled on Elsa's side. The platinum blonde wrapped her arms around Anna.
"Are you cold?" Elsa asked.
Anna shook her head.
"You're warm."
"Most people wouldn't describe me as such."
"But I am not like most people." Anna responded. She laid her head on Elsa's arm. "Elsa?"
"Yes?"
"I never felt so special in my life." Anna started. "Waking up every morning with different kinds of flowers on my pillow, having lazy mornings with you if we have time to spare. Having breakfast together even if sometimes we had to spend it with nosy people." she chuckled. "Sharing meals and bed together with someone were something I thought I wouldn't be able to do, well until I get married that is."
"And now you're married. You get to have those things."
"I am and I do. But I thought royal marriages were only for the couple to have heirs and do their own separate things after securing the bloodline. I know we don't have a child yet but did the other royals experience this bliss before having them, especially in an arranged marriage?"
"What do you mean?" Elsa lifted Anna's chin to look at her.
"I mean having a pleasant company, who respects my personal space, my choices and who cares for me. I experienced all that from you."
Elsa smiled. "It's not just me really." she paused. "I've been amazed by my late parents' relationship, they rarely argue and if they did it was over something silly. They did fight but they won't go to bed without addressing it and making up. Somehow I am trying to be like them."
"That may be true but these efforts you were showing to me were all you. I don't know if your mother received flowers every morning, or had all her favorites served at a moment's notice."
"No she didn't." Elsa admitted. "I want you to feel comfortable with me. To reassure you that I am here for you. And as for heirs, we are definitely required to have them but not until you are comfortable enough to have them with me. I won't force you into something you don't want to do. I am all about consent." she caressed Anna's face. "And even if after we had our children, I would still continue to do what I am doing now, you are not some broodmare that would be cast aside after bearing our children."
"Children." The thought of having a little person who looked exactly like Elsa was giving Anna a warm feeling she hadn't felt before. "How many we should have?" Anna asked herself in a whisper but Elsa heard her.
"It's all up to you, if you ask me I am content with what we have now. It doesn't matter to me if we have children or not because you matter to me most."
Anna was touched by those words.
"I feel the same, but I want to know your thoughts about children."
"Well, in all honesty. I never thought of having them. I couldn't imagine myself having a child, much less children. I am in constant danger and I hadn't thought of having someone in my life because of these dangers that surround me. I once told Olaf that if I ever have someone, it was either I wouldn't be able to keep them because they died or I wouldn't be able to keep them because I would be forced into a marriage I didn't want. These led me to reject multiple arranged marriages ever since I came of age. I couldn't let anyone in because I would lose them one way or another, so I haven't thought of children that much."
"What about now?"
"Now?" Elsa pondered. "If you would be the mother of my children then I would love to have them. And let it be clear that we can have children because we want to not because we have to. Having a child who looks like you would be the most wonderful thing." Elsa smiled.
Anna's heart skipped a beat. "Funny thing is that I would like to have a child who looks exactly like you."
"Yeah?" Elsa pulled her closer.
"Yeah." Anna pecked her lips. "So. . . you were in multiple arranged marriages?"
"Yes, but I rejected them all." Elsa said. Anna felt somehow relieved until she wasn't when Elsa continued. "Some took it with grace but some didn't."
"What do you mean?" Anna just noticed that Elsa's hair was free from its braid.
"Ah well, a certain Queen wanted me to wed her granddaughter and it somehow caused some friction between our kingdoms."
"Which kingdom?"
"Northul."
Anna knew and had met the princess of Northul on some occasions, she looked kind and gentle from afar. Anna hadn't had a single proper conversation with her.
"What?! When did that happen?"
"After my coronation day. I was offered this treaty and unification of the northern kingdoms but I rejected it because I was already engaged to you at that time."
"You chose to antagonize Northul so we can get married?"
"As you know I couldn't choose anyone but you."
"But you could still choose an heiress of a kingdom if you so desired over someone like me." Anna insisted. These words made Elsa frown.
"I could but I didn't want to. And Anna you weren't just someone like me to me. If I have to choose again, I'll still choose you."
"Why me?
"Anna, where is this coming from?" Elsa sat up, making Anna sit up as well.
"I just want to know why you chose me and caused a rift between two kingdoms."
"You know why I chose you. But I regret nothing. They can come here with their army and I will face them."
"You said you chose me so the fighting will stop but it caused tremendous consequences." Anna realized the gravity of Elsa's choice of choosing her. She suddenly felt responsible.
"It doesn't matter, they are foreigners and it's normal for them to covet what isn't theirs." Elsa caressed Anna's face. "I would rather choose that than see my own people kill each other just because they chose to side with the Eldrs or the Vinters. I couldn't live with myself knowing I chose my desires over my duty. The desire of being free from the clutches of the nobles by not marrying at all but I had a duty to marry you and I regret nothing." Elsa leaned her forehead on Anna's own. "I rather spend a lifetime with you than marry the Northulian Princess, whose presence I couldn't even stand."
Those words brought tears to Anna's eyes.
"Oh Elsa." Anna pulled Elsa into an embrace.
"You make me happy Anna Eldr. And I–I think. . ." Elsa trailed off.
"You make me happy too Elsa. So happy that I feel like I could do anything." Anna didn't wait for Elsa to finish whatever she wanted to say and kissed her with so much force that it made Elsa lie on her back.
Elsa held Anna closer and responded to the kiss with the same passion. Anna moved her lips in sync with Elsa.
Anna couldn't get enough of this. She couldn't help but to feel loved at every move of their lips. Elsa was so responsive towards her and it only spurred her on. She tentatively licked Elsa's lower lip, making the platinum blonde gasp.
"Anna." Elsa panted before pulling Anna into a deep kiss and rolling them over. Elsa pulled away even before Anna could respond. "You're so wonderful."
Anna felt Elsa's lips on her jawline and whispered things she couldn't understand.
"What?" Anna bit her lower lip as Elsa nipped her earlobe. She brought her thighs together as she felt a sensation between her legs.
"I think we should stop." Elsa kissed her chin. "We have an early day tomorrow."
Anna barely comprehends what Elsa said but she nodded nevertheless. She wasn't aware that her eyes were dilated and tried to stave off whatever weird feeling she had. Elsa lied next to her and pulled into a cuddle.
"You don't have to worry about Northul. I already made preparations." Elsa kissed her forehead.
"Alright." Anna decided to leave it at that until she could do something about it.
"Good night." Elsa said.
"Good night my darling." Anna gave Elsa a peck on her lips before closing her eyes.
It only took a couple of minutes for Anna to sleep, giving Elsa an opportunity to whisper the following words.
"Jeg tror jeg er forelsket i deg."
Morning in Arendelle Castle.
The Queen of Corona was sitting by the window with a cup of tea in her hand. She wasn't particularly feeling good at the moment after what she learned.
Couple of minutes later, Ariel came in.
"Your Majesty, you sent for me?" Ariel curtsied.
The Queen of Corona didn't respond right away, she took her time sipping her tea. Her face was her usual kind face but deep inside she was quite disappointed.
"Is there anything you need to tell me?" the Queen started.
"What do you mean, Your Majesty?"
The Queen placed her cup down on the saucer on the table.
"I am not sure. You tell me since you know your bloodline more than I do. Ariel of House Eldr."
Ariel blanched at those words.
Now I feel evil for stopping them from what they were doing. Haha
Okay, I admit I am a little in love with Isabela Madrigal. That's a lie. I have am so in love with her. A perfect character to add in because she's perfect. ;)
Anyway, so Queen Arianna found out Ariel's bloodline. . .whoops?
Tension is rising haha. Okay that's enough.
