Hello Readers:
I apologize for not posting until now, and I hope you know that this will in fact mean that there are less updates than normal today. I hope though, that I can give you some quality updates that you will enjoy. Plus, I really liked where we ended the last chapter; so I am definitely going to pick up right there. Now, let's not waste time with that long of a readers' note. Rather, let's get started with a new chapter for you guys…a chapter that might include a hard conversation.

Chapter Eight
Our Surrogacy Savings and Changing Plans

'He doesn't want to hurt you. He's just doing what he thinks is right based on the situation that you find yourselves in at the moment, based on the information that he currently has.' That was the thought that was going through the paramedic's mind as she thought about what her husband told her just now, the thing about how Matt's been picking up more construction jobs recently…and putting the money in a new savings account. A savings account under the name of 'Our Surrogacy Savings'. And the truth was, Gabby just didn't know what to think now. And that was why she was staying quiet and watching as they drove into the city limits of Detroit, Motor City USA. The reason the city has that title? It's due to the fact that a majority of North America's car manufacturers are based here in Detroit. Ford, Chrysler, etc. all have main manufacturing plants here in Detroit; and it was their major industry. In fact, it was the major industry for the entire state.

The entire state of Michigan's economy is basically based on it being the car capital of the world, and that's understandable based on the fact that it has all of these headquarters. But, at the same time, she knew that she couldn't just stay quiet about this; she had to answer what her husband spoke to her about with something, or else he'd get more worried than he is right now. But, at the same time…she feels like she has a right to be silent for a moment; to digest all of the news that Matt just gave to her right now. Heck, does she even want to talk about this? That's when the silence was finally broken in between the husband and wife, with Matt deciding to speak first so that he can make sure that they get the conversation on the right path. "I made a mistake, didn't I?" Turning her head when her husband said that, seemingly shocked that he was believing that he made a mistake. "Hey, don't think that way baby." Matt took a breath when he heard Gabby say that.

He then looked at her, and just got worried as to what she said. He didn't want to make her feel bad, but he just knew that what he told her must've hurt her. He can tell because of how quiet she's been since he mentioned it. "I know I made a mistake, because I didn't talk to you about making the account." Gabby shook her head when Matt said that, proceeding to grab his hand. "Hey, look at me." Matt nodded as he turned to look at his wife, smiling at her for a moment. "Did you do this because you were scared?" Matt took a breath when Gabby said that, not really wanting to blame it on that. "I hate blaming it on fear all the time. That's not fair to either of us, especially not when it's stuff that we need to decide together. And, I mean, this is money. We need to talk about this, are you okay that I budgeted this for a while?" Gabby took a breath when she heard him ask her if she's okay with the fact that he budgeted money for surrogacy without telling her.

"Baby, it was your money." Matt shook his head. "No, it's our money baby. It's money that we share, because we're husband and wife. That's a fact that we both need to realize. There's no more 'my things' and 'your things'. We're Mr. and Ms. Casey; and that means we share everything, up to and including our last name." Gabby laughed when she heard Matt say that. "Yeah, we are still going to talk about that; aren't we?" Matt nodded when Gabby said that. "I know, it's up to you. But I am just thinking about it." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Just curious, whose name did you put on the account for the savings?" Matt smiled. "It's in both of our names." Gabby agreed. "Well, I'm glad; because it's for our baby. I am just not sure what to say, because I guess…it's a lot to take in." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, understanding why it would be a lot to take in. "And I get that, and I am really sorry that's the case. I should've…"

Gabby shook her head, not wanting her husband to feel like he shouldn't have spoke to her about it. "Baby, you did the right thing. You told me that you thought you had to tell me, and I am grateful for that as it means that we're both in the know about emergency savings. I hope you know that we can use those funds for emergencies if we need to." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling at her. "Yeah, we can. But, at the same time…I want you to know that I have no regrets about starting that account. It's a down payment in our future, and an insurance policy on your life." Gabby just snickered when she heard that, it being a little funny. "Sorry, I hate the way that came out. It made it sound like it was a life insurance policy." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Yeah, sorry baby…but it did." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, feeling like a real idiot that he even said it due to the fact that it wasn't how he wanted her to take it anyways.

He didn't want her to feel like it was something that he could collect on, but he can; the result of that savings account can easily lead them to having a family of their own, while also saving his wife's life in the process. "Well, it's technically the opposite of a life insurance policy; as it's so save your life, rather than it would be after you dying." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling at the man of her dreams as she proceeded to grab his hand. She then stroked it with her thumb as she stared at him. God, just the fact that he always makes her laugh is incredible. He truly is the man of her dreams; and she's so glad that he's the man that she gets to share a life with for the rest of your life. "I swear, how did I get so lucky to have you be my husband?" Matt smiled when Gabby asked him that, stroking her hand with his thumb. "Honestly, I'm the lucky one in this situation because my gorgeous wife has such a big heart." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at him.

Afterwards, she proceeded to look at him, really wanting him later. "I swear, you are such a turn on. Whenever I look at you, I feel like I want to unbuckle and just move into your lap to straddle you and kiss you in the sexiest way possible." Matt smirked when he heard Gabby say that, really liking that idea. "I have to stay that I am not that opposed to the idea." Gabby just laughed when she heard Matt say that. "Yeah, keep dreaming buddy. I am not going to be doing that anytime soon due to the fact that it's not safe. Last time I checked, it was also illegal and not something that I want to get caught doing when we're on a busy road like the interstate." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, smiling at her when she said that before turning his attention back to the road; the road that he needed to make sure he stayed safe on as he wanted to get to Detroit (and then Cleveland). "So, back to the surrogacy savings thing." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at him.

"How much did you already put in there?" Matt smiled as his beautiful wife asked him how much he's already put into the account. "I've put maybe 1.5K-3K in there to start." Gabby was shocked when she heard Matt say that. "Really?" Matt nodded. "It was at the end of the summer, and I just had this feeling that you were going to come back soon. Something told me that, you were finally going to come back. By the way, that's something I want to talk about for a second now that I think about it." Gabby agreed with Matt. "What is it baby?" Matt took a breath. "Gabby, I get that…at the end of the day, it was your right to decide to extend your stay. But, don't you think that maybe we should've talked about it? I mean, I was missing my wife. The truth was, after your second extension was originally going to be over; so, around your birthday. I had booked this nice cabin in Michigan. We were going to stay there and just be together for a night." Gabby looked at Matt.

"Oh really?" Matt nodded. "Yeah, I wanted to take you there; and I just wanted to get away for a while, have some fun." Gabby smirked. "Do you remember where it was?" Matt smiled at her. "It was just north of Grand Rapids. And no, we aren't going to be turning around." Gabby laughed as the couple drove past the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (around a 25 minute drive to downtown). "Just to let you know babe, we're 25 minutes from downtown. So, this is your last chance to decide whether you want to go south of Lake Erie, or if you want to drive through Canada." Gabby smiled when her loving husband asked her that. "Actually, I was thinking. What if we start with going to Miami?" Matt was shocked when he heard Gabby say that. "Really?" Gabby smiled. "I know, it's a huge change but…I was just thinking of the time." Matt was confused when he heard Gabby say that. "Time?" Gabby sighed. "Of when we were planning to go."

Matt then thought about it. "It might be close to Thanksgiving." Gabby shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe. I am just not sure what I want to do first. I know it'd be a huge change but…" Matt then went to grab her hand. "I'm not going to Puerto Rico first." Gabby shook her head. "No, I don't think I want to go yet either. Hawaii, maybe. I don't know, I just want to have fun first. I don't want to go months of driving without fun. We can do stuff while it's not busy." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that. "So, you want to go to Cleveland; and then you want to head south to Miami?" Gabby agreed. "What do you think of that?" Matt smirked. "I hope you know that I want to do some surfing, and maybe even stay for a few days." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Oh, you thought that we weren't going to stay for a few days?" Matt agreed with his gorgeous wife when she said that, smirking. "I want you in the back in Detroit. Michigan remember?" Gabby smirked.

"Oh, yes please. I want to take it easy with you in Detroit." Matt smiled as he put his hand on Gabby's leg and then proceeded to stroke it with his thumb. "By the way, do you want to stop at a drug store and get me some…" Matt smiled at his gorgeous wife. "No, let's just take it easy. Babe, it happens…then it happens. Let's not worry about it." Gabby agreed with her husband when he said that, smirking. "Let's just make our way to Detroit, then we can see what the bed in the back feel like; and how comfortable it is." Gabby smirked when Matt said that, loving the sound of them being in bed with each other when they are in Detroit; and that sounds absolutely perfect, as she's missed having fun with her man. "I miss this fun spontaneous side of you." Matt smirked when he heard Gabby say that. "Remember when we first started dating? Oh, the shower make outs." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Oh, that was so much fun." Matt just smirked.

"Want me to pull off at the next service center so that we can have fun?" Gabby shook her head. "No, I am not even sure if I really want to stop in the City of Detroit. There isn't much here to see, is there?" Matt smiled at his wife when she said that, going to stroke her hand. "Yeah, that makes sense. By the way, I think I want to talk about going to Canada." Gabby laughed. "Let me guess, you don't want to do it anymore?" Matt sighed. "I don't want to have to get new currency." Gabby thought about it, agreeing with her husband when he said that, well aware that'd be the truth. "Yeah, that makes sense. So, how about we go to Miami; then we go to Boston, followed by Seattle. We can stop in Chicago again." Matt then smirked. "Or, we go Chicago to Miami, Miami to Boston, Boston to Green Bay via Chicago, Green Bay to New Orleans via Chicago, New Orleans to Los Angeles, and then a week in Honolulu." Gabby smiled when she heard Matt say that. "I actually like that."

Matt agreed. "However, we stop for 2 nights whenever we're in Chicago. And I want to do 6 nights in New York City. I want you to see the entire city, it's gorgeous." Gabby was confused when she heard Matt say that. "Have you ever been?" Matt nodded. "Me and Hallie went together once, she had a medical conference for school, and I tagged along." Gabby agreed with her husband when he said that, smiling at him. "I like that. Now, about Hawaii, do you think that we're going to stay for a while in Honolulu? I mean, what if we like it too much?" Matt smirked. "We'll just have to figure it out as we go." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "So, we'll already been back in Chicago in 3 weeks though." Matt laughed. "Hey, we're going to need to stock up. And I'm sure that we can get more money. We'll see what we want to do. I mean, we can always bypass Chicago. Sorry I am changing my mind." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling at him.

She then proceeded to grab his hand. "I'm glad we decided to start in Miami though. That's going to be a lot of fun." Matt smirked when he heard Gabby say that. "And I can't wait until we get to see you in a bikini." Gabby smiled. "Maybe we can do a week in Miami?" Matt agreed with her. "Sounds perfect." Gabby laughed and smiled as she knew exactly why he thought it was perfect. It was due to the fact that she was going to look hot for him, which is the truth; she's going to wear something sexy for the man of her dreams. And she can't wait for it. "So, for now…are we going to talk about Cleveland? Are we going to stay in the RV? Or are we going to book a place to stay?" Matt smirked. "What do you want to do? By the way, I'm not sure if I want to go to Cleveland anymore." Gabby was confused when he said that. "Why?" matt sighed. "It just doesn't make sense. It'd be easier to continue south through Toledo, than turn eastbound to Cleveland. Avoids I-95."

Gabby just looked at her husband when he said that, taking a breath. "We're already planning on staying in Cleveland. That was the original plan. I actually already booked a spot for us to park the RV overnight." Matt looked at Gabby when she said that. "Oh, okay. That makes sense." Gabby took a breath. "I can try and get out of…" Matt shook his head. "No, I like the idea. I like the incentive. Plus, we can take it easy and just start working. I mean, didn't we say that we wanted to try and make love to each other in every state other than Alaska?" Gabby laughed. "Well, when we go to Seattle, we can fly to Alaska for a night?" Gabby looked at his wife when she said that, thinking that she was kidding. "I'm seriously, don't you like that idea?" Matt bit his lip. "I love you, and I'm going to do whatever you want to do. If you want to stay a night in Alaska, then we can definitely go stay a night in Alaska." Gabby laughed. "I'm kidding babe, we aren't going to Alaska."

Matt then let out a sigh, glad that she was joking. "Sorry if I got worried." Gabby agreed with her husband when he said that, smiling as they are both really happy with each other. She then went ahead and grabbed his hand once again, stroking his hand due to the fact that she loves this man so much. "God, I love you." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling due to the fact that he really loves her as well. He then stroked her hand and just smirked due to the fact that they are both extremely happy with each other. "I'm glad that we're happy with each other right now too. I can already see such a difference here than in Chicago." Gabby took a breath when her husband said that. "Yeah, I feel much happier. I hate to say this but…things just got really hard for me to be there baby. Did I ever tell you about that happened between me and Sylvie on my last shift?" Matt sighed when he heard Gabby ask him that. "Baby, you already told me; I got her fired."

Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling. "God, I love that fact. It was nice to know that you got her fired." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, smiling due to the fact that he's glad that he got Sylvie fired; this being due to the fact that she doesn't deserve to work in the CFD, and she definitely doesn't deserve to be a paramedic. "Babe, I had a duty to get her fired." Gabby smiled. "I love how you feel like you had a duty to get her fired, a duty to me." Matt sighed when he heard Gabby say that. "The truth is, I didn't just have a duty to you Gabby." Gabby looked at her husband. "I had a duty to the citizens of Chicago…" Taking a turn, Matt continued to make his way to Cleveland. "…as a Captain, I am in charge of Firehouse 51; and that means that I have a responsibility to the City of Chicago to make sure that the people who represent my firehouse are worthy to work in the firehouse. And she doesn't deserve to be there." Gabby agreed with Matt.

"I hate to agree with you as a fellow paramedic." Matt agreed with her. "Also, I have a duty to you as your husband. Put aside the fact that I am the Captain at Firehouse 51, my first duty to you is being your husband. And that's why she's gone. By the way, sorry I keep bringing that up. I guess….I just feel so guilty that I learned about it months later. And I guess, I want you to be sure to tell me if something like that happens." Gabby agreed with Matt. "And baby, I mean for the future too. Honestly, I hope that it doesn't happen. I pray to god that it doesn't happen to you again." Gabby nodded, well aware that was the case. "But, I refuse to ever let it happen to you again; so that's why I want you to promise me, when we're back at work that you tell me if you have problems at work. You need to make sure to do that for me baby." Gabby agreed. "I promise Matt." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, smiling as he's just glad that they're already over it.

"I like that we already covered a bunch of ground on our first day. I really didn't expect that." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Oh, I definitely didn't expect to talk about this much already." Matt smiled when his wife said that. "I feel like that's cause for celebration." Gabby smirked. "You're thinking about that lingerie I'm wearing." Matt smiled at Gabby when he heard his wife say that. "Oh, I'm definitely thinking about it." Gabby nodded, smirking at her loving husband when he said that. She then put her hand on his leg, stroking it with her thumb. Putting his hand on hers, Matt smiled due to the fact that this is exactly what he wants from Gabby; a bunch of sexy, intimate time with her right now.

Matt's Thoughts:
God, the feeling of her hand on my leg, her thumb on the inside of my thigh; God, this is perfect, and I am so turned on. She must know that this is turning me on. I mean, she can feel that I'm starting to get hard under my jeans; there's no way that she can't feel that happening in my jeans. I mean, she must love that, and I can't wait over the fact that this is how we're starting our day. She is just so sexy, and I love her so much; I am so glad that this is what we're doing right now, and I can't wait to get to our next stop so that I can take her in my arms. I want to take it easy with my gorgeous wife, and I think that Gabby is already well aware of that fact. She wants to take it easy with me too, and I already know that. There's no way in her my mind that she doesn't love the fact that we're going to have a bunch of fun with each other right now. She can tell that we're going to have fun. God, I am so ready to just take her in my arms; and I want to have fun with her, we both do.

We want to make love to each other, and we want to just start a family; sure, I'm scared…and I hate the idea that our children may never meet their mother if something happens. But, I'm really starting to believe in my heart of hearts that Gabby is going to survive this, that she's going to survive her pregnancy; and we're going to have a long, happy life with each other; a life that will include children, a bunch of them hopefully. Whether Gabby gets pregnant, or whether we do surrogacy; then I will be happy. And I mean that; I think that I am really starting to open up to the idea of Gabby getting pregnant with our first child. I just love that idea, and that sounds perfect. God, I am so glad that this is what we're in the midst of doing right now due to the fact that she really is the love of my life. I am so glad that we're in the midst of having fun with each other, and I'm ready to just relax with Gabby on this long trip that we're taking with each other right now.

And I have a feeling that Gabby can just tell that I'm happy, especially since I'm starting to get excited. God, I am not sure if I'm going to be able to work all the way to our first stop; but I'm going to have to try my best so that we don't have to pull over and just have each other. But I still want her, especially when she's told me that she's wearing some sexy lingerie. I want to run my hand up and down her leg, and I want to have fun with her. God, Gabby has to know that; and I am so ready to just have fun with each other. I'm ready to just take it easy with each other. I want her bad, and her running her hand up and down my leg like this is just turning me on more and more each and every time that she strokes my leg. How does she know that this is turning me on? God, this is perfect, and there's nothing more that I want to do right now. Now, time to just concentrate on the road so that we can hold each other close; nothing like a bunch of fun with each other today.

And we both know that we're going to take it easy, and just have fun with each other. That's all I'm thinking about right now, how we're going to have fun with each other. God, just so sexy; and I'm ready to ravish my wife when I get a chance.

Gabby's Thoughts:
I can just see it now. I can see that Matt is enjoying what I'm doing right now, and I love it. I love how I am turning my man on, and I'm ready to just take it easy with him. There truly is nothing like the both of us just taking it easy with each other. I want to have fun with my man, and I'm ready to just take it easy with Matt when we get a chance. But now, let's just relax and have fun with together; there's nothing more than I want other than to have Matt. And the minute I take off the clothes that I have under here, he's going to want me too. He's going to want to run his hands all over my body and just have fun with me. This is going to be so much fun, and I'm already in love with this trip. And I can't wait to have Matt when we're at a place we could take it easy with each other. Now, whether that's in the back of this RV; or if it's somewhere else, I have no idea. All I know is that I want to take it easy with Matt and enjoy myself with the man of my dreams forever.

Matt's POV:
Continuing to drive down the interstate, I smiled as I put my hand on Gabby's. "So, we're already getting near to the interchange that we need to take so that we can go down to Miami, so are we going to change that? Canada is I-75 North to Flint, Miami is I-75/I-96 South to Toledo. Babe, time to tell me where you want to go first." Gabby smirked when I asked her that. "I-75/I-96 South to Toledo and Miami." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling due to the fact that we're going to Miami. God, this is perfect; and I am so ready to just make our way southbound. I just want to go have some fun with my wife. "You know, we could just stay in Miami for the entire time that we're away. The road trip is just to Miami." Gabby laughed. "Maybe we can do Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle and then home? Or, we'll see. If there's cities on the way I want to go to, then we can stop maybe." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as I was glad that was the plan.

"Actually, I still want to go to New York City too. Let's just stick to the plan okay baby? Now, I also need to pick a place in Cleveland." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling at her. "Well, I'm glad that we're going to stay in Cleveland for a bit." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling as that was going to be a bunch of fun. We're going to Miami, and I can't wait to get there. Especially when we're going to have intimate time in the ocean. "I can't wait to see the bikini that you brought along." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, just smiling due to the fact that I'm ready to get to Florida. I can't wait to have fun with the woman of my dreams. Heck, I'm already having fun with my wife. "You having fun already?" Gabby agreed with me when I asked her if she was already having fun with me. "Oh, I'm already having fun. And I'm glad that we're together. Now, how about we keep this going and just have fun with each other when we're in Cleveland."

I agreed with Gabby when she said that, smirking due to the fact that I can't wait to see that lingerie she said that she was wearing for me. "I hope you know that the lingerie is going to be revealed as soon as possible, and I want to run my hands all over you." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "Oh, I know that baby. I know that you want that. And I can't wait to feel that when we get to the Airbnb." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, smirking as she proceeded to go ahead and keep looking for an Airbnb. "Want me to try and find a place with a pool?" I smiled when Gabby asked me that. "Are you sure that you want to stop this soon babe? I mean, we can always wait a bit. This does seem a bit soon, we just did lunch and then…" Gabby looked at me, confused. "Babe, I don't want to go longer than 6-8 hours. We're already at 4 hours." I agreed with my girl when she said that, nodding. "And if we go all the way to Cleveland, that's too far."

I then remembered that. "Right, because we're going to take I-75 to Miami. I keep forgetting that." Gabby then smiled at me, nodding. "Just take a breath and relax baby. I promise that things will be okay." I agreed with Gabby, smirking as we're both really happy with each other. "Wait, why are we going to an Airbnb if we have to RV?" Gabby smirked. "Well, it's up to you." I bit my lip when she asked me if I really want to book and Airbnb. "I think that we should just stay in the RV. It's our home for now. I hope that's okay with you." Gabby agreed with me, smiling. "I get that. And we will. Now, I am going to find a place where we can park in Toledo." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as I'm glad that we're going to find a place to park the RV so that we can have some fun with each other this afternoon. Sure, we just stopped at the University and ate lunch. But, we just don't want to get into the traffic; because that won't be fun. "We're doing it right."

Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling at me. "Baby, we're stopping in Toledo." I agreed with my beautiful wife when she said that, ready to go just that once we're in Toledo. Plus, it means that I get sexy time with my girl. "Lingerie time right away?" Gabby laughed, agreeing with me when I said that. "Of course, you want that." I smirked, agreeing with my girl. "What man doesn't want lingerie right away?" Gabby nodded, agreeing with me as we got ready to stop again.
