Disclaimer! I do not own Frozen/Disney.

Hi! I AM BAAAAAACK! Thank you for the wonderful reviews. *cries* Been away to do my other arts and crafts stuff, I had to divide my time on drawing, sewing and writing.

Yep I intended for them to have their own stories and I do hope it's not messing up the entire story, I'm doing my best to track down my characters because I feel like I made each and everyone of them so complicated XD. Also it looks like 70 chapters are not enough to tell the entire story, well I haven't decided how many chapters this story will have anyway, so I am just winging it. Haha.

I am so glad that you guys like the fight scenes! Believe me it looks waaaaay cooler when I imagined it but I tried my best to put it into words and yeah Anna is a badass here!

Thank you Vermelon for pointing out the incorrect line break! I already fixed it!

And as for my new readers, I am glad you found this fic and I hope you guys will enjoy it as we follow the lives of Queen Elsa and Duchess Anna.

ENJOY!

Hatred, anger, desire for revenge were the only things in her mind as she looked at her fallen son down the pavement below the window she was standing by. Her eyes found her son's killer looking back at her with those distasteful cold blue eyes. Despite the noise that surrounded them, she could only hear her racing heart, the heart of a mother who just lost a son.

Her screams for her dead son were loud and clear for everyone to notice.

"Kill her! KILL HER!" Baroness Gothel screamed and pointed at the abomination that killed her son. She went to pick up a bow and nocked an arrow to it but a pair of strong arms had pulled her from the window and almost dragged her inside. The receiving room was a mess as men had gathered to form a barricade to protect them from the royal army.

"Mother, we have to escape. The manor will not hold much longer if those persistent loud poundings had to go by." the eldest of the twins said, however Baroness Gothel wasn't listening.

"No! I have to kill her!" She made her way back to the window only to be restrained once again by her son. "Let me go!"

"Mother listen to me- LISTEN TO ME!" her son screamed. "Once we escape we will meet up with our mercenary army! We will storm Eldr Castle itself, do you understand me?!"

"Escape? Escape?! You damn coward! Fight her! Kill her! SHE KILLED YOUR BROTHER!" she screamed

"I KNOW THAT!"

Baroness Gothel knew he had a point but the abomination was just there out in the open. They could end her here and now. She continued to scream at her son then she heard her son sigh before she was being dragged out from the receiving room by their remaining men. Baroness Gothel trashed and tried to escape from their grip, ordering them to let her go and let her kill that bitch of a woman who killed her son.

Lady Tremaine had woken up her daughters and had changed their clothes into something more practical. Her daughter, Anastasia was frantically shoving jewels and money in a knapsack while her other daughter was pacing and muttering how idiotic to ally themselves with Baroness Gothel.

Drizella was never the favorite child of Lady Tremaine since her father wasn't of royal blood, unlike Anastasia's father. After her mother gave birth to Anastasia, Runeard had immediately forced one of his soldiers to marry their mother, hence making Drizella a child of a mere soldier. Growing up, Anastasia was cherished and loved by their mother and what Drizella received were the scraps of her mother's affection, but when her father died in one of Runeard's attempts to expand his territories northwards, she lost the only person who truly cherished her and loved her, since then she never felt warmth. Not even from her mother.

Most of the time Drizella never felt part of their family, she was just there existing. She watched how her mother showered her eldest sister with gifts and attention, making her wanting to ran away from home and explore so many places her late father had been to, however her plans were ruined the moment Queen Elsa took the throne and placing their family in the line of fire because of the familial connection they had with Runeard. She knows it's only a matter of time that she too would face the blade, if not the gallows.

Drizella once told their mother to seek the Queen's forgiveness and slowly integrate themselves with the new monarch hoping they would be spared, even if the chances were low. Despite her pleas to her mother, her sister had successfully made her look like a blood traitor and was told she was just jealous of Anastasia's status as the next successor of Runeard since the only princess of the Eldr blood was disinherited. Drizella only wanted their family to be spared but her eldest sister's greed and her own mother's indifference had led them into this kind of situation of starting a rebellion with the other noble families who wished to see the bastards ruling the kingdom and the Duchy.

"WILL YOU SHUT THAT USELESS MOUTH OF YOURS?!" Anastasia screamed at her sister. "There's no use crying over spilt milk!"

"We can still survive this! If only we pledge ourselves to the Queen!" Drizella insisted.

"Will you stop your delusions?!" Anastasia retorted and shoved her sister. "Ever since that damn woman took the throne, your words had become so annoying! Do you think I will bow to that pretender when I should be the one sitting on that throne my father had left for me?!"

"Ha. You are nothing but a bastard child! Your greed is just like your father's. You both deserve the same fate-"

Slap

Drizella's face was turned to the right after her mother had slapped her so hard that the corner of her lip started to bleed.

"How dare you say that to my daughter." Lady Tremaine uttered with such coldness in her voice.

Drizella's eyes were suddenly filled with tears. Her resentment towards her family intensified.

"You're useless, just like your father." Lady Tremaine uttered and dragged Drizella down the stairs. However Drizella pulled her hand away as they reached the first floor and said the following words.

"My father was far more noble than your precious Duke Runeard. We all know how he had killed the true heirs of the throne. What happened to him was only appropriate and both of you just had to follow his footsteps of killing the true heirs just to take what isn't yours! You even allied yourselves with the most cutthroat woman in the kingdom. Do you think Baroness Gothel would honor her words? She would betray you the moment she has the power she desired in her hands''

The loud pounding of the door intensified. Drizella looked at the direction of the main door. Just in time, Baroness Gothel was being dragged down and had heard everything.

"How dare you!" Baroness Gothel marched towards her but her eldest son and stopped her.

"We don't have time for this! If you Tremaines had no desire to escape then, you're on your own." The eldest Stabbington was about to turn but he noticed Drizella's growing smirk.

"No!" the eldest Stabbington said in alarmed. "Get her!" She ordered his remaining men.

Drizella had sprinted towards the door.

"LET US ALL DIE IN HERE!" Drizella's voice echoed in the entire manor house. This was the only way she could get even. She placed her hand on the thick wooden plank that prevented the door from opening, for the sole intention of sliding it down to the floor, but soon a sword protruded from her chest. She gasped for air, blood dripping from her mouth. As she fell the hands on the handles slackened and was on her knees before her vision darkened and the last thing she heard was the door splintering.

Elsa continued to fight off every enemy in her way as she moved forward towards the manor house itself. Eric and their other men had been fighting off and trying to forcefully open the manor's door but it seemed the door was barred from the other side. Elsa helped them by drawing the enemies attention towards her, since these barbaric men would want to claim the glory of slaying the Queen. They had brought a twenty foot battering ram with them and there were fifteen men on each side to pound the door open by force.

Elsa's strategy of drawing the enemy was effective, she was then assisted by Marshall who fought with her as they blocked the enemies from reaching Eric's group.

"Majesty! Behind you!" Marshall called. "Duck!" Elsa did what Marshall asked her to do, then he swung his sword towards a man who had his sword at a ready to strike Elsa.

"This brings back memories when pirate raiders-" Elsa turned swiftly and dismembered the other man's leg before thrusting her sword down to his chest as he was lying flat on the bloodied pavement. "-dared to step on Corona's shore." a sound of flesh being cut open reached her ears then saw Marshall beheading someone.

"Indeed." Marshall grunted while parrying a skilled swordsman but it was nothing compared to the skill he honed for two decades.

Splash of blood once again reached Elsa's face, she didn't even blink and pushed the limp body of her latest kill down on top of the other. "My patience is running thin." she hissed.

After uttering those words, the ever so infuriating door finally cracked and with one or two more forceful pounds, the door burst open.

"I'll leave you to it." Elsa informed Marshall, gaining a nod from the man, before storming in the manor house behind Eric's men. For a moment her eyes strayed on the dead body of a woman, whom she recognized from the night of Anna's investiture, then she finally came face to face with the plotters that deserved her justified wrath.

Cold glacial blue eyes were on the fleeing form of four people, who took the back door in order to escape. The rest of the Stabbington men were toe to toe with Eric's men, depriving the bastards of personal guards.

"Eric!" Elsa called and chased after the tainted blood of Eldr, however there were men who tried to block her path but she evaded and slew some of them with relative ease. Eric ran by her side towards the back door, she expected the cowards were already on horseback to flee but she saw them running on foot. The Stabbingtons and Tremaines were frantically searching for the horses that were supposed to be there, a precaution they had set up in case they had to flee in circumstances such as this, but when they got outside only hooves prints remained.

A chilling grin made its way on Elsa's lips. She reached for Eric's boot and pulled a dagger then quickly chased after them. She immediately caught up to them because there were women who had low stamina and the Stabbington man was practically dragging her mother, slowing him down.

Her eyes zeroed on the man's figure before she threw her dagger with perfect precision and hit the back of the man's thigh, making his face plant on the ground. Eric ran past her to chase the other two fleeing women.

"Runeard!" Baroness Gothel called in panic and knelt beside her son, she then turned to see who dared to injure her son. Her face paled as the tip of Elsa's sword was already under the Baroness' chin. "Monster!" she shouted.

Elsa only tilted her head to the side slightly. Runeard, Baroness Gothel's son, grunted and tried to get up only to scream in pain as Elsa stepped on the pommel of the dagger to further embed itself on the man's thigh. "I know, anything else?" she asked mockingly and grazed the woman's chin with her sword.

"Ah! You are a horrible monster! An abomination!"

Elsa just stared at the disheveled woman before kicking her jaw, rendering her unconscious. "I never did like noisy people." she uttered.

"I'll never forgive you for this!" Runeard growled.

"I am not even asking you to, Runeard." Elsa despised the name far more than anything foul she ever encountered. "Should I kill you just like how I did to your namesake?" she pondered for a bit. "A sword through the heart is merciful for someone like you, you wouldn't even feel the pain of your limbs being hacked off into pieces and the teeth of those hounds after." The man struggled to turn his body so he could somehow destabilize Elsa's footing.

Elsa then placed the tip of his sword on one of his shoulders and thrust it downwards, pinning Runeard on the earth, like a dead butterfly being prepared for preservation.

Angry screams filled Elsa's ear.

"Your Majesty." Eric called as he dragged the two women by their arms, the Tremaine matriarch was unconscious while the other was screaming and squirming.

"Can you silence her? I can't have both of them screaming in chorus." Elsa placed her palm on the pommel of her sword and put even more pressure to it, making the Stabbington scream at the top of his lungs. "Hold her hands." she ordered. Eric obeyed and held the woman's hands behind her back and made her kneel.

Anastasia was glaring at her.

"Oh my what a glare you have." Elsa chuckled; she further pushed her sword down to the man's flesh to keep him in place. She grabbed the woman's chin ever so gently with her bloodied gloved hand.

"I see no resemblance on the face. Well I admit, the previous Eldr women were quite beautiful, however it seemed the likeness of them skipped you entirely." Elsa chuckled.

"How dare you—AH!" Elsa grabbed a handful of her red hair. "LET GO! IT HURTS!"

Elsa grinned at her. "As it is supposed to be."

"Your Majesty!" Elsa heard Marshall's voice from behind and that could only mean one thing, it's over, but her gaze was still on the redhead woman in front of her.

"You know, I thought of various ways on what I should do to you once I captured you. I assure you they are all justified since you dared to insult and physically hurt the Duchess of Eldr."

"Ha! That brat deserved it!" Anastasia defiantly said.

Elsa chuckled at her response. "Your arrogance knows no bounds, does it?" her grip on the woman's hair slackened and she took a step back. "Insulting and assaulting a Duchess is one thing but doing those things to the Queen's wife is another. Yes you heard me. Anna is my wife and you hurt her, I believe I should pay you the same courtesy." she gave Anastasia a powerful backhand, toppling her in the process.

"Take them." Elsa coldly orders while pulling her sword and Eric dagger from Runeard's bloodied body. She went back to the direction of the manor house and sighed. It was over. She could go back and be with her Duchess, the mere thought of it made this victory a lot more sweeter.

The remaining rebels were rounded up, about a quarter of the entire rebel army, they were all forced to kneel on the courtyard and bound with thick ropes. Elsa was coming out of the manor house with a bloodied sword in hand, followed by Marshall with Runeard Stabbington. Soon after Eric emerged with Anastasia, the woman was sporting a busted lip after Elsa gave her the lightest thing she could do to the loathsome woman. While two men were carrying both unconscious matriarchs.

"Long live the Queen!" Marshall bellowed.

"LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!" cheered the royal army.

Elsa's face was passive, but for the losing side she looked so terrifying with all that blood on her face. She would very much like to have that fear ingrained in them, for them to think not just twice but many times before rebelling against her authority.

She observed the remaining rebels and there was something not quite right about them. They were young men dressed in ill fitting uniforms and they were trembling with fear, apart from the older ones who were glaring at her. She felt a sudden disgust at her conclusion.

The young ones didn't want to be here but those illegitimate bastards had used them against a well trained army. Elsa thought.

Marshall had passed the 'noble' prisoners to their men and had instructed them to secure them properly. He stood by Elsa's side and said.

"When we rushed through the enemy lines for the first time, most of them fled but they were caught immediately and had begged for mercy, insisting they didn't want to fight."

"I can see that." Elsa replied.

"They said they were coerced into fighting for the Stabbingtons because if not, their families will be mercilessly killed." Marshall added.

Elsa had encountered a lot of young people forced to fight in someone else's war, there were times she would hesitate to kill them but she had to do it because that was the order given to her by her Uncle.

"Those lot will grow up and will once again try to set foot in my kingdom, killing my citizens. And as one of my Captains, I order you to kill them all. You have to understand that I do this for the safety of my people. . . if you dare try to defy my orders, I'll be forced to whip you up into shape and have your cousins shipped back to Arendelle with the executioner's block waiting for them."

Those were the words of King Frederic, words that were repeated to her over and over, those were the words that had bound her hands and held her by the neck. The King knew Elsa couldn't care less the punishment waiting for her so he used her cousins to keep her in check. In other words they became her weakness. Also in order not to forget what she did after the skirmish, she was elevated into Lieutenant General.

"For the safety of my people." she whispered to herself, her grip on her sword tightened.

"Your Majesty?" Marshall said.

"Round up the younger ones and separate them from the others." she ordered.

"Are we going to execute them?" Marshall carefully asked since he already witnessed a similar scenario before.

Elsa opened her mouth to answer but a lone rider came through the open gates. The rider dismounted and rushed towards her.

"Your Majesty." he bowed and presented her a letter. I had Olaf's seal on it.

Elsa opened the letter and soon her hand tightened, crumpling the parchment.

"Our camp was attacked. The contingent was decimated." Elsa's jaw clenched in anger. "Come with me and take a few of our men." she said to Marshall before turning to Eric. "I'll leave you in charge here. Separate the young rebels and have those Eldr bastards imprisoned in the dungeon of Eldr castle." Elsa barely waited for Eric's response and rushed to her horse. Olaf' words were ringing in her head.

". . .Lord Solskinn and the Count survived, however the former was injured while protecting Her Grace. Captain Hofferson was the only survivor of the contingent. And Her Grace, herself lost consciousness due to the thrill of what happened and it caused a shock in her body after the scuffle. . ."

Elsa urged her horse into a swift gallop in order to reach the camp as soon as possible.

Olaf ordered them to collect their dead comrades for proper burial, while their enemies were dumped into a massive pit, devoid of their personal effects, since rotting corpses cause disease in a camp. He was currently in one of the tents prepared by his men for the wounded, he sat by Anna's side and was in deep thought.

He witnessed Anna's remarkable swordsmanship, and it was probably the first time she was engaged into a bloody fight with her life on the line, hence her body had taken its toll and fainted. However, despite this being her first actual real battle, she showed her prowess and didn't waver unlike the other women of her age, and well . . .some men of her age. Olaf then remembered a story from her brother on how the Duchess crossed swords with the Queen at their first meeting, sure the Queen was going easy on her at that time but after witnessing what just happened it looked like the Duchess could surpass a well trained knight.

His glacial blue eyes landed on the sheathed dagger by the Duchess's side, he smiled. He knew how Elsa treasured this blade since it bore the sapphire gem belonging to her family, the only physical link to her Vinter ancestors at the time of her grief. Now the dagger belongs to the woman who was chosen to bear the next ruler of Arendelle.

The marriage agreement between two Aren descendants became apparent the moment the Duke of Weselton had secured the support of the Eldr turncoats who wanted Anna on the throne and deposed Runeard as soon as possible. The carefully laid plan made Elsa decline much more advantageous marriage proposals, such as marrying a princess who was in line for the throne of her own kingdom and would be expected to rule in her own right. Olaf would've preferred Elsa marrying this certain princess since she was a good influence on her, while the only things that drove his cousin to pursue Arendelle were vengeance and hatred. He too wanted the same things, justice for the family who recognized them as their own, but those things had destroyed and corrupted Elsa far more than anyone. The presence and influence of the princess had helped to bring Elsa's humanity back to the surface, but King Frederic would further fuel Elsa's contempt towards the people who caused the death of his sister.

He could only wish that Anna would be a good influence to the Queen. Everyone in their family wanted Elsa to be happy but their definition of happiness was different from one another, some had to wipe out households in order to achieve it. But his definition of happiness was to find someone who would care, love, stay and share the heavy burden Elsa was carrying so she wouldn't be crushed under its weight. Also free her from these countless bloody wars that kept knocking on her door. From what he observed so far, their relationship started to bloom beautifully, he hoped no one would poison it.

"Lieutenant." one of his men called his attention.

Olaf looked up. "Report."

"One of the guards escorting the two carriages you requested from Eldr Castle came here ahead of them to let us know that they are on their way."

"Perfect." he paused. "Any identification of our fallen comrades?"

"Most of the contingent that were sent here to guard Her Grace were part of the old Eldr army. Only few were part of Her Majesty's elite guards."

"No wonder they were easily defeated." Olaf muttered. "Who arranged them?"

"I was told it was General Marshall who arranged them."

"I see, Thank you. You may go." Olaf's face was passive as he dismissed his subordinate, while the gears on his mind were turning. His knuckles were turning white as he tried to stave off the growing displeasure.

He stood up and took a few deep breaths, once he was done he opened his coat. The coat revealed a rectangular leather pouch, inside it were four different kinds of vials filled with liquid safely strapped on the leather casing. He took one of them and gave it a gentle shake. He went to see one of his patients in the other tent, Lady Giselle, who was still skittish.

"M'lady." Olaf gently called. "I won't hurt you." he pulled the cork off and handed it to the lady. "Please drink this. It will calm your nerves." he smiled.

Lady Giselle hesitated.

"I assure you, I won't hurt you. Her Grace, Duchess Anna, will have my head if I did something to you." Olaf tried to coax the lady.

"Y-You're with the Duchess?" Lady Giselled asked.

"Yes. I am Olaf, Lieutenant General of Her Majesty Queen Elsa and friend of the Duchess of Eldr. I am at your service." he flourished a bow and gave a friendly smile to the lady.

Lady Giselle then looked at the vial in his hand.

"Oh. I am also Her Majesty's unofficial official physician, if that makes sense." he grinned. "This will calm your nerves. It would be best if you rest before the carriage comes to take you and your mother to Eldr Castle."

The Lady's eyes suddenly went alert.

"Where's my mother?!" Lady Giselle asked in panic.

"She's asleep. I already attended to her. Please ease your worry." Olaf said softly. Those words immediately calmed the lady. "Here." he once again offered the vial and this time Lady Giselle took it and emptied its contents. "You better lie down. Don't worry, I stationed guards around your tent. Please rest."

Lady Giselle obeyed Olaf and laid down on the cot prepared for her, soon her eyes felt heavy and she slept in no time.

Olaf heard the loud neighing of horses. He quickly got out of the tent and placed his hand on the grip of her sword, ready to unsheathe it, however his grip slackened once he saw who arrived.

"Your Majesty!" Olaf exclaimed. His Queen was a little disheveled and her face was caked with blood. He pulled out a black handkerchief from his coat pocket and soaked it with water from his canteen.

"Where is she?" the Queen panted and dismounted without waiting for his response.

"In there." he pointed at the tent on his right. The Queen quickly marched towards the tent where Anna was before he could even offer her the soaked handkerchief. Olaf could only sigh but then his eyes found the form of his brother.

Elsa's heart was beating erratically from either the rush of getting back to the camp or the worry and fear that took over her. She quickly made her way inside the tent and rushed to Anna's unconscious form. She carefully checked any visible injuries and was satisfied once she found none. Her brows were furrowed and reached for Anna's face only to stop short the moment she realized that her glove was tainted with blood so she removed them and gently caressed Anna's face with her bare hand.

"She fought like a true Arendellian." Olaf commented as he came in.

Elsa's gaze stayed on Anna's sleeping form and replied.

"Of course she did." pride was evident in her tone. "We are of Aren's blood." she picked up Anna's hand and kissed the back of it.

"How is she?" Elsa asked, after letting go of Anna's hand carefully.

"The sudden rush of excitement was too much for her body, don't worry she'll wake up soon." Olaf explained. "Also I requested two carriages to be brought here so we could safely transport Her Grace and the two other ladies." he passed the soaked handkerchief. "Wipe the blood on your face, you don't want to give Her Grace another shock."

"Thank you." She accepted the piece of cloth. "Other ladies?" she asked in curiosity.

"Lady Giselle and her mother. Based on the story Captain Hofferson had told me, the ladies were pursued by groups of men, I don't know why though. I wanted to ask Lady Giselle but she is not in the condition to answer any questions at the moment."

Elsa wiped the blood from her face as clean as possible. "They were probably Baroness Gothel's men. We received a letter from Lady Narissa asking for help, then your letter came at dawn about the fire. Anna was saddened at the news. But I am sure she'll be glad that both ladies are alive." The way she said it caused Olaf to raise one of his eyebrows.

"Your Majesty, I know it's not my place to say this but isn't it more advantageous for us if they were indeed caught in the fire? That's the reason why we started this hunt for them in the first place."

Elsa turned and gave Olaf a smile. A smile Olaf often saw whenever Elsa was confident about something.

"Indeed, however I don't want Anna to be sad so I need them alive. She had taken a liking to Lady Giselle since she loathed the very existence of her Eldr blood." Elsa placed her hand on Olaf's right shoulder. "An enemy of the enemy is an ally." She could almost see the gears turning in Olaf's head and a sudden realization hit him like a hoard of horses.

"You sly little–." Olaf was cut off by a soft groan.

Both Elsa and Olaf turned to see Anna's brows furrowed before fluttering her eyes open. Elsa immediately was next to her in a split second.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" Elsa asked gently as she took Anna's hand in hers.

"Elsa? You're here?" Anna asked before sitting up abruptly.

"ANNA!"

"YOUR GRACE!"

Elsa and Olaf said in unison.

"Why are you here? Are you okay? What about the rebels?" Anna asked in quick succession, but soon scowled at the sudden jolt of pain in her head.

Elsa gently pushed Anna back down on the cot she was in. "Lie down." Anna obliged. "I am okay, don't worry about me. I should be the one asking you that, you were unconscious for hours." worry filled Elsa's words.

"I was?" Anna asked in confusion.

Elsa watched Olaf offer Anna a small vial filled with almost clear liquid.

"This will help. You need to replenish your strength." Olaf smiled.

Instead of Anna, Elsa took the vial and dismissed Olaf. "I'll manage. You can attend to the others." she said. These words meant she wanted to be alone with Anna and Olaf needed to make himself scarce, he understood the underlying message and got out, leaving the couple by themselves.

Elsa sat by Anna's side on the cot.

"Here." Elsa brought the vial to Anna's lips. "Please drink this."

Anna lifted her head slightly and let Elsa tipped the vial to her mouth.

"Thank you." Anna said with a smile.

Elsa responded by kissing Anna's forehead. "How are you feeling?"

her eyes were filled with worry.

"Tired and my arms ache." Anna answered and tried to sit up. "Don't fuss please, I can do this much." Elsa kept her mouth shut and assisted Anna to sit up.

There was a brief silence between them, neither knew what was going on inside each other's heads. Elsa couldn't believe she made a mistake of not giving Anna enough guards to protect her. She was so confident that the small number of the elite guards would suffice on their given task. She was so thankful to Olaf and his men for arriving on time, even though she hadn't expressed her gratitude to him yet, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself if anything happened to the person she loved the most.

"I killed someone –no– a lot of people today." Anna's tone was hushed and somber. "I– Was that the feeling of fighting for your life?" she curled her hands into fists to prevent them from trembling but Elsa noticed them.

Elsa placed her hands over Anna's. "I was so worried when I read Olaf's letter. I am so sorry for taking so long to quell those rebels. If only I finished them off early, you wouldn't have to suffer like this. You wouldn't have to stain our hands with their blood." she looked down, feeling so ashamed and useless for putting Anna in danger like that. "I am so sorry."

"Elsa–."

"No Anna. Don't tell me it's not my fault. I was careless. I should've made sure you are properly protected." awful scenarios swirled in her mind, and fear crept in her heart. "I shouldn't have agreed to this. I should've left you in the safety of Eldr Castle."

"What? You can't possibly mean that I should stay back from this moment on. I thought we're in this together?"

Elsa steeled herself and looked at Anna with a small smile. "A carriage will be here any moment, we'll discuss this once you're fully recovered." she gave Anna a kiss on the cheek and then she was about to stand when Anna exclaimed.

"No! Don't leave!" Anna held her arm.

Elsa faltered for a moment and sat back down. "I was just gonna call Olaf to– alright." She then wrapped her arms around Anna and held her tight, then she kissed Anna's crown. "Kjæreste, I'm so proud of you, you know?" She was indeed proud of her beloved despite realizing too late what could've happened. Anna's words earlier dampened the pride she felt, she was so used to having people who were more than capable of protecting themselves and could finish off whoever they faced but Anna was different. Her beloved wasn't used to killing people, she wasn't used to the violence that Elsa and her relatives encountered on a daily basis. However Elsa knew she couldn't deny Anna's freedom of wanting to stand by her side no matter what they faced, even if Elsa wanted to protect her behind the castle walls from any danger that would come in her way.

"You are?" Anna asked as they pulled away from each other.

"I am." Elsa answered with a smile. "And Olaf had praised you for your skills, what were his words again? 'She fought like a true Arendellian'." there was a slight tinge of pink adorned Anna's cheeks. Elsa chuckled.

"You're so adorable."

The blush on Anna's face intensified, prompting her to cover her face with her hands.

"Stop teasing me." Anna grumbled.

"Where's the fun in that?" Elsa chuckled and pried Anna's hand away to see that blushing face of her darling.

Anna playfully glared at her, but this only amused Else even further.

"Are you done making fun of me?" Anna huffed and pouted a bit.

"I did no such thing." Elsa innocently replied, but her eyes found Anna's slightly pouting lips. Before she could stop herself, she moved closer and pressed her lips against Anna's. Her Duchess was startled but welcomed her so eagerly. Elsa's negative thoughts dissipated and were replaced with how heavenly it was to finally have her lips against her beloved's own.

The gentle kiss turned into a passionate one as Anna wrapped her arms around her and pulled her down with her as Anna lay back down the cot. Elsa used both of her hands to support herself and placed them on either side of Anna's head. There was gentle nipping on Elsa's lips, coaxing her to grant Anna access to her sweet cavern. Elsa granted it by parting her lips.

Soft muffled moans escaped from either of them as their soft pink muscles danced around each other. Elsa knew she should stop but after what just happened she doesn't think she could at the moment. Anna reached for her hair and freed it from its bun before those same hands made their way on the lapels of her military coat. Elsa on the other hand, had placed one of her hands on Anna's waist

They pulled away only to breathe before engaging into another slow passionate kiss, before long a loud deliberate clearing of throat forced them to pull away from each other. Both turned to the source of the sound and found Olaf with a wicked grin on his face. Anna looked away panting and flustered. While Elsa was also panting and tried to school her face into her usual stoic one but the red tinge of her ears betrayed her in more ways than one.

"The carriages are here, Your Majesty." Olaf's vexing grin didn't leave his equally vexing face.

"We'll be right out." Elsa said.

"Of course." Olaf's tone was dripping with sarcasm. "I'll make myself scarce." he went out only to pop his head back in. "As a physician, I am against patients participating in strenuous activities but I'll let it slide this time."

Both Elsa and Anna couldn't get any more redder than they were.

Olaf books it out before Elsa could throw anything that could potentially harm him.

Back in Eldr Castle, people gathered at the front gates waiting. They were anxious because some early riser villagers had witnessed an army marching out the castle and it didn't help to ease their worry when it was revealed that the Queen and their Duchess led the march. They wanted to know what was happening, especially the workers hired to build a massive scaffold at the castle's courtyard.

Few hours before, inside the castle where the trusted vassal nobles of the Eldr dukedom were summoned so early in morning by the Duke of Weselton. Once they arrived, the three minor nobles who were handpicked by the Duchess herself welcomed the other vassals and had eased them with bits of information until the Duke of Weselton fully gave them the information they needed.

The vassals were informed about the attempted assassination of their Duchess on not just one occasion. The Duke made sure that perpetrators were implicated. He started started by citing the eldest Eldr bastard trying to usurped not only the Dukedom by the Crown itself, he spun the story of how Queen Elsa started to stabilized Anna's position as heiress by taking down Eldr claimants through legal means – if possible – , such as having evidence and testimonies of the caught assassins, spies and letters. . .but if there was no evidence they would make one.

The Duke presented the letter sent by Lady Narissa. They didn't need much convincing since they too wanted the unwanted branches of the Eldr bloodline to be wiped off from existence, it made the Duke's task far more easier. The Duke also mentioned the Queen's intention once the rebellion was snuffed out, and that was building a scaffold to publicly execute the traitors to prevent any more would-be rebels using a pretender as a rallying point. Each and everyone of the vassals had agreed on the punishments of the traitors. Death.
