Hello readers, and welcome to Puerto Rico: I hope you guys are okay with this change of scenery that I have started for you guys. I really wanted to keep writing the road trip, but I thought that we can do that at a later date; right now, we need to get Matt and Gabby in Puerto Rico. And that's exactly where we are as of next chapter. But first, I am going to cover something else. I wanted to do this scene quickly, but it script format. I hope that I'm okay with posting this type of format on . If not, I apologize and it will only be for one chapter. Here are the text messages I want to write.

Matt & Gabby: Hi Guys, sorry that we're doing this over text; but we have some news for you guys.
Boden: I'm already privy to this news, so do not say that I am not already aware. I will just listen.
Herrmann: What's the news guys? BTW I just sent another cheque to you guys re: Molly's.
Gabby: Thanks Herrmann. Make sure that they keep coming, or else I'll have Stella take over.
Stella: Girl, you know that you can always ask me to take over the finances.
Herrmann: Stella, don't even bother with that. I got it.

Mouch: What exactly are we talking about. I'm not privy to the previous chat posts.
Matt: Oh, just bickering about Molly's payments!
Mouch: God, if this is about Molly's, then I'm out of here.
Matt: Mouch, stay or else I tell Ritter to let Tuesday sit on the couch more often.
Mouch: Last time I checked, you took a leave of absence. You have no power anymore.
Severide: But I do as senior Lieutenant. So, shut up Mouch!
Gabby: Okay, seriously? Can we not talk about this right now?

Matt: Right, back to the reason why we're here in the first place.
Mouch: Yeah, why exactly are we here?
Matt: Because me and Gabby have some news that we have to share with you guys.
Herrmann: What is it? That you're pregnant?
Matt: Herrmann! STFU about that. You were there remember!
Herrmann: I may have told Cindy BTW. We both feel horrible for you.
Matt: Okay, can we not talk about THAT right now, as that's not the reason for this conversation.

Chief Boden: Yes, do you want me to make sure that we stay on topic?
Matt: That'd be very helpful Chief Boden. BTW We aren't telling anybody about the courses.
Severide: Yeah, I already know all about those Matt. Congratulations future Chief Casey!
Matt: STFU Severide. You weren't supposed to say shit. That was privileged info as my best friend.
Herrmann: Chief Casey. Congratulations Captain!
Ritter: Yeah, congratulations Captain!
Stella: Oh, I already like that title. Ms. Gabriela Dawson, Ms. Chief Casey.

Gabby: Decided to join on my own so that I can talk back to some people on here.
Matt: That's fine. But listen. Let's just get this conversation started.
Stella: How about we start with the fact that G. CASEY joined the conversation?
Gabby: I go by Gabriela Casey now. I'm married to Matt, it was time for me to go by my legal last name.
Herrmann: Does that change anything for cheques?
Gabby: Send them to Matthew & Gabriela Casey. Me and him co-own all of my shares now; he's my husband.
Matt: Okay, we are getting off track right now. We need to talk about something else.
Gabby: Right, sorry baby. How about we get onto that then?

Pelham: Nice to talk to you for the first real time Captain Casey.
Casey: Same here Pelham, take care of my Truck for me.

Pelham: Will do, hope to work with you someday.

Stella: Yeah, only til' I'm a Lieutenant.

Boden: Enough, we're here to talk with Matt and Gabby for a reason.

Severide: Yeah, so what exactly is going on right now? You said that you have news for us.

Gabby: Yeah, we do. And it's stuff that we need to make sure that you guys understand.

Matt: Especially about how this has nothing to do with anything in the past.

Boden: She's been dismissed just to let you know Gabby.

Evan Hawkins: Hold up, is that why I'm here now? I heard about a former paramedic.

Matt; Sorry, who is Evan Hawkins?

Evan: New PIC on Ambulance 61, pleasure to meet you Captain Casey.

Matt: Okay. Sorry, just not sure. But, we are just here to tell you guys some news.

Mouch: Go ahead guys, we all want to hear the news of what's happening.

Gabby: Well, it's about Matt's future at the firehouse.
Matt: I have decided to take a leave of absence from the firehouse for a while, and I am going to be moving to Puerto Rico with Gabby so that I can concentrate on my studies.

Boden: Yes, we are now able to tell them that.

Matt: I have been given the opportunity to take paid time off to study (online) at the CFD's Academy in the Chief Course.

Severide: Wait, you're going to be a chief!

Matt: That I am lieutenant, so make sure that you are extra careful in with you say to me.

Boden: Calm down gentleman, and you aren't a chief yet CAPTAIN Casey.

Matt: Understood Chief Boden. But yes, that is one of the things that I am going to do in Puerto Rico.

Gabby: He's also going to volunteer with the charity that I have been working with since I left in May.

Matt: And it sounds really interesting, so I am definitely excited to do that.

Gabby: And I am excited to have him by my side doing it with me. It's going to be absolutely perfect.

Boden: Now, that doesn't mean that Matt is going to be your chief when you get back.

Matt: Yeah, I still have a long way to go before I have an opportunity to be a chief.

Evan: Tell me about it, I am currently on the same path as you to be a paramedic chief.

Matt: Oh, congratulations Hawkins. I'm glad that's the case. But back to what our plans are. We're going to be in Puerto Rico for a while, and we're just going to take it easy as I work on my courses and volunteer by Gabby's side.

Gabby: Amongst other things. We just aren't sharing that.
Herrmann: We already know what it is Gabby, you're going to try and start a family.

Gabby: Is it THAT obvious?

Stella: Sorry girl, but it is.

Matt: Yes, we are going to try and have a baby. We can confirm that rumor. However, it's still trying to have a baby.

Boden: And we wish you all the best in trying to have a baby, but remember to concentrate on your studies.

Matt: Oh believe me Chief, I know all about the fact that I need to concentrate on my studies. If I don't concentrate on my studies, I don't get paid $$. I need that money for us to be able to live here in Puerto Rico.

Severide; Hold up a second, you're being PAID $$ to become a chief? E.g., to take the course?

Matt: $$

Severide: STFU you SOAB

Boden: Language gentlemen! I expect more of my officers, even from a distance.

Matt: Sorry chief Boden. Now, I hope that you guys understand why we're getting away.

Herrmann: Of course we do, we want you guys to have a baby; and we want CHIEF CASEY!

Severide: I call dibs on being the Next Captain at Firehouse 51!

Matt: Yeah, I am not going to be involved in those conversations.
Severide: Matt, you're my best friend! You need to advocate for me to be given the position!

Matt: And that's the exact reason WHY I am not going to advocate for you to get the position.

Gabby: Severide, don't push it.

Matt: You're my best friend, and I have a conflict of interest. The decision will be made by Chief Boden in consultation with the Commissioner, as well as the District and Deputy District Chiefs for our District.

Boden: Said like a Chief would. Very well written Chief Casey.

Gabby: I can get used to that title.

Matt: ;)

Boden: Okay, calm down Chief Casey; or else I won't help you if you need issues.

Matt: My apologies Chief Boden. Now, I hope that you all understand what's happening now?

Stella: Of course we do Matt. Just make sure that you guys visit in the future.

Gabby: I'm already the designated Charity Fundraiser Organizer for Midwest Region. I'll be back at some point.

Matt: And I will be joining her…and I will probably come do a shift then.

Boden: I will work my magic and make you Deputy Chief for whatever shift you want.

Kelly: Oh fuck.

Matt: Lieutenant! May I remind you that you are talking to your Chief AND your Captain/future Chief here!

Kelly: My apologies Chief Boden and FUTURE chief Casey. Keyword FUTURE.

Matt: Do you want to be the godfather of my child?

Gabby: Excuse me, but that's a position that's already taken by my brother! Kelly, get that idea OUT OF YOUR HEAD!

Kelly: Done.

Matt: It's that easy?

Kelly: Dude, your wife, and my girlfriend can both beat me up. I don't want to get on either of their bad sides when I want some tonight.

Stella: Just for that, you ain't gettin' SHIT when you just said that in front of our chief!

Matt: Kelly, you really need to learn. How in the world are you going to get married in the future? You have no understanding of what to say to a wife now do you.

Kelly: Hey! I was married before you guys.
Matt: Oh hell no! You do not get to pull that on me. YOUR VEGAS WEDDING DOESN'T COUNT. Not when we've lost 2 KIDS together!

Herrmann: Oh god Gabby, did you….
Gabby: Louie Herrman, Louie!

Pelham: Sorry, who's Louie?

Gabby: None of your business. You weren't there!

Pelham: Boden, permission to leave?

Boden: Permission granted.

Pelham last left the conversation.

Gabby: Sorry about that chief.

Boden: It's fine Gabby. Just take a breath and continue to enjoy speaking to us.

Gabby: And I will, at a later date. Right now, we're just having fun together. We just wanted to fill you in.

Matt: And thank you again for everything you set up for us. Now, we don't know when we'll be back in the future.

Boden: It's fine for the both of you. I'm glad that you guys are getting away with each other, you both deserve the time.

Gabby: Yeah, I feel like this guy owes me a honeymoon for a while. We never took one until now.

Matt: Yeah, so I might go MIA for a bit to enjoy some honeymoon time with my wife.

Gabby: Yeah, not just that. I already know you're looking at me honey.

Matt: No shit. Sorry guys, we can talk about that later.

Cruz; Oh, future Chief's getting lucky tonight.

Kelly: Maybe he'll become a daddy soon!

G. Casey has kicked J. Cruz and Kelly out of the conversation.

Gabby: Anybody else want to make a comment like that?

Boden: I don't think so. Right, everybody?
Matt: Yeah, I feel the same way about that. Sorry babe.

Gabby: It's fine. Stella, go ahead and go console your boyfriend.
Stella: Oh, hell no girl, I am sticking by you. He does not get to say that.

Boden: I'm off. This is more friend talk.

Herrmann: Same here. Off to work at Molly's

Gabby: My cheques!

Herrmann: Promise.

Mouch: I'll make sure too Gabby.

W. Boden, R. McHolland and Herrmann have left the conversation.

Matt: Just the young firefighters now.

Ritter: Tell me about it.

E. Hawkins: Not just firefighters may I remind you!
G. Mackey: Agreed!

Gabby: Tell me about it Hawkins and Mackey. I am a paramedic after all!

Matt: Love you babe.

Gabby: Yeah, yeah. He's just saving his ass so he gets lucky tonight.

Stella: LOL. I know right.

M. Casey has kicked Stella out of the conversation.

Matt: Finger slipped.
Stella, Gabby and Mackey: Yeah, sure it did!

Matt: Okay, how the hell did you guys all text the EXACT same thing at the same time.

Stella: You do realize that best friends think alike right Matt?

Gabby: Yeah, that's why you don't mess with best friends like me and Stella!

Stella: So, what's it like there so far? You guys having fun?

Gabby: A bunch of fun, it's been amazing so far. Great adventures with great company.

Stella: I think I know what I'm talking about.

Matt: Seriously? This has basically become a gossip text thread now.

Matt: At least bring Kelly back there. Then, I get a guy on here to defend me if I say something that can cause me to get in trouble with either of you. We both know that's going to happen at one point or another.

Matt: We can hear you loud and clear idiot.

Stella: God, you guys are really immature.

Capp: Tell me about it. Yet I'm just sitting here enjoying the show.

Kelly: How's that paperwork coming along Capp? The one that was due at the end of last shift!

Capp: Getting on it Lieutenant!

Capp has left the conversation.

Matt: He has to do paperwork now?

Kelly: Injury at work. Tiny injury, but still an injury that he's at fault for.

Gabby: God, I miss the firehouse.

Stella: Then come back girl.

Gabby: Girl, I want to have a baby first!

Matt: Then why are we on here instead of trying for a baby?

Gabby: Because you're being punished for being an idiot. Now, let's just talk and have fun for now.

Matt: Whatever.
