Sorry about how long it took me to get both this chapter (and Chapter Thirty-Three) out. However, that's the price you have to pay for the quality of writing that I hope to give you guys. Now, let's not waste time keeping you waiting for how that conversation is going to go; because, just like you, that conversation definitely took a turn that I didn't expect. It came out of the blue, and I didn't even expect that to come out. But, I am definitely going to keep it because I love the outcome.
Chapter Thirty-Four
Are You Sick?
"Sis, is that why Matt's here? Are you sick? God, why didn't you tell me? Sis, I would've come much…" Gabby definitely did not see their conversation taking this turn, especially when she's currently pregnant with her and Matt's first children. Heck, the expecting mother was shocked that her brother was even thinking that way, as it was not something that she thought her brother would think about. Does he really think that this would be the first time that she would be talking to him about this if she was sick? She would've called him the moment she got back from the doctor. Yet, she was just in the pool. She would not have done that if she was sick. But God, just the idea of her being sick with something that could kill her while she's pregnant made her scared; and that was especially the case after having lived that way for the past couple months only to learn that she got a misdiagnosis. And now that she's pregnant with her first children, she didn't want to think that way. Heck, even starting to think that way was starting to make her feel as if she couldn't breathe, like she was suffocating.
She truly didn't know what to say at the moment, as she didn't need to think this way; she didn't need to think about that possibility ever again. The possibility of never meeting her children, never meeting her twins; the twins that she wants to meet more than anything in the entire world. Taking another breath, she just tried to breathe. And Antonio couldn't help but notice that, notice that his baby sister was finding it hard to breathe. So, he decided to call his brother-in-law. "Hey Casey! Can you get me some water for Gabby?" Just hearing that made the husband worry, worry about whether his wife was okay; and that was especially the case when she's pregnant. Walking over to the fridge, Matt proceeded to swing it open and just went to grab a water bottle for his wife. Rushing into the living room where his wife was currently scared, he started to get worried. Looking at Antonio, Matt got worried. "What did you do? What did you say? What'd you tell her?"
Antonio then got up, worried. At the same time, Matt proceeded to walk over to his wife and sat down next to her. Opening the water bottle he grabbed for her, Matt put his hand on his wife's back to try and get her to calm down "Hey, here's some water baby. Take a breath and relax for me baby." Matt then turned to look at Antonio. "What did you tell her? Why is she acting like this?" Antonio then looked at his brother-in-law, shocked that he was speaking this way to him. "I can ask you the same thing. Why's she acting this way when it's a valid question! Why didn't she tell me that she's si…" Matt was a bit shocked (to say the least) when he heard his brother-in-law say that he thought that his wife was sick. "She isn't sick you idiot! She's pregnant!" Turning to look at his sister, Antonio was shocked. "You're pregnan…" Matt just looked at Antoino. "Can you go take care of supper? I need to concentrate on my wife right now." Antonio agreed with Matt, walking away.
He then proceeded to walk away to the kitchen so that he can take care of making them some supper, as he was not the man that his sister needed to take care of her right now; right now, she needed to be taken care of her husband (and the father of her children). At the same time, Matt looked at the woman he loves, concern clearly visible in his eyes as the woman he loves was shaking; she was just shaking out of pure fear, fear of the idea that she's sick, or she's going to die. That was definitely not something that the couple wanted to think about, especially not when they just got past the possibility that she would die simply because she's pregnant. Heck, that their children are going to be okay. And this is definitely not what Matt wanted to have to worry about right now. "Hey, take a breath and just breathe for me. Just turn your head and look into my eyes." Matt said, well aware of the fact that his wife was having a panic attack.
She was having a panic attack over the fact that her brother thought that she was sick, but she was really pregnant. But that didn't mean that she wasn't still panicking, panicking over the idea that she was never going to meet her children; the children that she and her husband have always wanted. Looking at her husband, Gabby knew that he was worried about her and that made her just breathe even more. She wants to have these children for Matt so bad, so she's going to do whatever she can so that she can make sure that she ends up giving birth to these children. But now, she was looking into her husband's eyes; and that was helping her, helping her relax as they just relaxed right now. That she relaxed for the sake of their twins, the twins that she and Matt have wanted since they first got married. Leaving a kiss on her forehead, Matt took a breath due to the fact that this was something he didn't want to happen to her. He didn't want her to be scared like this.
"Take a breath baby, and just concentrate on my voice." Looking into Matt's eyes, Gabby took another breath as she listened to him speak to her. "Everything's okay, I'm right here and everything's fine. You're fine, the babies are fine, and we're going to be okay. I promise honey." Gabby nodded when she heard Matt say that, just taking a breath as they both sat down together. "Here, let's lean back and just relax okay? Lean back against the back of the couch, and take it easy okay baby? I promise that everything will be okay." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, leaning back against the back of the couch just like she needed to. She then grabbed her husband's hand and just took a breath. Slipping close to his wife, Matt wrapped his arm around her and proceeded to kiss her forehead softly; sighing, he just looked at her as he knew that Gabby was worried, just as worried as he was due to the fact that this was both something they both didn't want right now.
They both want these children, they want to be parents; and this could all be putting their dreams at risk. "Matt, I can't lose these babies. I want to have a family so bad." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, putting his hand on her stomach. "Hey, take a breath and relax. I know that fact baby. We both want these babies. And you won't loose these babies, I promise." Gabby nodded. "I promise that too, especially since it'll be the end of our marriage." Matt was shocked that she even said that, before shaking his head. "Hey, don't even think that way. This will not end our marriage. I love you Gabby, and nothing will ever end our marriage; this is forever. I promise." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. Leaning in, Matt proceeded to give his wife a kiss, well aware of the fact that she was very worried at the moment. That's when Matt went to grab the water that he got for Gabby in the first place. "Here, take a sip baby." Gabby agreed, grabbing it.
Going to take a sip of her water, Gabby just took a breath as she was worried; and the truth was, Matt was worried as well. "Listen Gabby, I'm a bit worried right now; and we both want you to take it easy." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Listen, how about me and you go up to our room…and you can lay down in bed. You can take it easy and just relax. You can watch TV, while me and Antonio can make supper. I can tell him everything okay?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. Putting his hand out, Matt waited for Gabby to grab it. Grabbing it, Matt smiled as he helped her up so that he can take her upstairs, where she needs to take it easy and relax. She even started to wonder, maybe Antonio should just leave once supper is ready. Little did Gabby know, was that her loving husband felt the same way. He feels as if they should just be alone and take it easy tonight, and that they should concentrate on her and the baby; with Antonio not being here.
Once Matt and Gabby made their way upstairs so that she could sit down, Matt smiled as he helped Gabby into bed and just went to relax. Letting her hand go as he sat down next to her on the bed, Matt smiled as he went to grab the TV remote for her. "You comfortable?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her that, smiling. "Yeah, I am." Matt nodded when he heard Gabby say that, glad that she was comfortable. After all, that was exactly what she needs to be right now. She needs to be comfortable in their bed, and she needs to take it easy for the sake of their twins. Putting his hand on his wife's stomach, Matt smiled as he looked at her. Stroking her stomach with his thumb, Matt smiled when he felt Gabby put her hand on his. They then both decided that it was time for them to bring up the topic that they were both ready to talk about this, saying the same thing. "I think…" Matt laughed a bit. "You go first Matt…" Matt shook his head. "No, you go first baby."
Gabby took a breath when she heard him say that. "I was thinking, that maybe…" Matt then smiled at her. "That it'd be best if Antonio left?" Gabby looked at Matt when he said that, a bit shocked that they were thinking the same thing. "Listen, how about you slip over?" Gabby agreed, proceeding to slip over in their bed. Proceeding to get close to the woman of his dreams, Matt smiled as he wrapped his arm around Gabby and just got close to him. Afterwards, he looked at her while putting his hand out. Proceeding to grab his wife's hand, Matt smiled when he felt Gabby grab her hand. Looking at Matt, she smiled at him. "So, you think…" Matt nodded. "I think we should ask Antonio to leave. We need to make sure that you and the kids are okay. As much as we love your brother, we need to make sure that you and the kids are okay." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she laid her head down on his shoulder. He then proceeded to kiss her head.
Leaving soft kisses on her forehead, Matt smiled due to the fact that they are currently alone. Afterwards, Matt looked down into his wife's eyes before bending down and kissing her softly. Moving her hand up to Matt's face, Gabby smiled as she loved the feeling of Matt's lips on hers. "Listen, how about you do me a favor and take it easy. Take a nap or something for the sake of the kids okay? Just take it easy, and I'll talk to your brother about how we're worried. I'll tell him it's twins." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, taking a breath as she was still worried. "Can you make sure that he leaves today? I want to have you alone after supper." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, proceeding to kiss his wife's forehead softly. "Hey, of course baby. We're going to make sure that he's going to leave. I want to make sure that you relax and just take it easy." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling as they are both really on the same page.
"I'm glad that we're on the same page so easily." Matt looked at Gabby when she said that. "Hey, of course we're going to be on the same page Gabby. I only want what's best for you. And what's best for you right now is to take it easy and relax. You need to relax, and you need to make sure that you and the kids are safe. That's all I want." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as they are both really happy with each other. Stroking Gabby's hand, Matt smiled at his beautiful wife. "Listen, can you do me a favor?" Gabby nodded. "What is it?" Matt smiled. "You remember how we downloaded that breathing app for when we were still in the RV? And we used it when we were in fights?" Gabby nodded. "Yeah, I remember it." Matt smiled. "Can you use it for me? Do a bit for breathing and just relax for me?" Gabby agreed with her husband when he asked her that, smiling as she got close to him. Leaning in, Gabby smiled as she loved him.
"I love you, and you are the best husband in the entire world." Matt smiled when he said that. "Listen, I don't want sex tonight; but I do want you to take it easy. So, do you think maybe you can put something sexy on for me? After all, I'm not going to be able to get it on our anniversary." Gabby smiled, agreeing with Matt when he asked her to put the lingerie that he loves on. She then put her hand on his neck, smiling as she took things nice and slow with the man of her dreams. "I hope you know that you're the man of my dreams." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as he's really happy to be called the man of Gabby's dreams. "And you're the woman of my dreams, and you always will be the woman of my dreams." Giving Gabby one more kiss, Matt smiled as he is really happy. "I'll see you soon okay? Massage after supper." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smirking as she watched him walk away so that he can talk to her brother.
Matt's POV – Part 1:
Shortly after making my way downstairs so that I can talk to Antonio, I took a breath as I was quite worried for the sake of my girl. I really don't want Gabby to lose the baby. As much as I want to trust Antonio, I know that I really do need to ask him to leave for the sake of my wife. I need to make sure that she's safe. And right now, I hate to say this more than anything in the entire world….he isn't really someone I want to be around my pregnant wife right now. Taking another breath, I made my way into the kitchen to see Antonio making us some pasta. "Hey." Turning around to look at me, Antonio took a breath. "Hey." I just looked at him and sighed as I walked over to the counter close to him. I want to make sure that he knows I'm serious about this. God, I just hate the fact that I need to do this. "Ok. I'm going to start by saying this. Can we both agree that we're going to be civil and remember that we want to make sure that me and Gabby have the twins?"
Antonio agreed with me when I said that. "I agree." I nodded and just took a breath. "Antonio, what the hell was that? I mean, why in the world did you bring up that topic of all topics?" Antonio bit his lip. "Antonio, we just learned that Gabby can't die from an aneurysm; do you really think that we want to be thinking about Gabby dying right now? Gabby is scared out of her mind right now as she doesn't even want to think that way." Antonio nodded. "Yeah, that makes sense. I'm really sorry." I agreed with Antonio when he said that. "Yeah, I know. I…I feel like such an idiot." I nodded, agreeing with Antonio when he told me that. I then just looked at him, sighing as I knew that he really did feel bad; of course he feels bad, he doesn't want to scare his sister. "Antonio, listen…we really need you to help us and make sure that we have the babies." Antonio agreed with me when I said that, until he realized that I said 'babies'. "Hold on, babies? As in two babies? Twins?"
I nodded, agreeing with Antonio when he asked me whether we're having twins. "Yes, we're having twins. So, that's why we're both really scared Antonio. Antonio, this pregnant…it's a miracle. And yes, I know that you're wondering how we can already know it's twins. It's because she came back to Chicago in early September." Antonio agreed with me when I said that. "Wow, so twins." I agreed with Antonio when he told me that, smiling at him. "Yeah, so that's why we're both really worried right now Antonio. We both need to take it easy and just relax with each other. We need to make sure that we don't loose the children. Antonio, we need to make sure that we all do whatever we can to make sure that we don't loose either of these babies." Antonio agreed with me, taking a breath. "Matt, I'm so sorry." I agreed with him, taking a breath. "Antonio, I don't know if you're starting to think that you're going to stay but…" Antonio then realized what I was saying.
"You want me to leave, don't you?" I took a breath, agreeing with Antonio when her asked me what I wanted to leave. "Yeah, we need you to leave Antonio so that we can make sure that Gabby's okay. We need to make sure that she and the babies are okay. And Antonio, I love you; and we love you because you're going to be a great uncle. But right now, we just aren't feeling comfortable with you being here right now. We'd rather you leave so that we can concentrate on making sure that Gabby was okay. Gabby needs to relax, and I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure that my wife is okay." Antonio agreed with me when I said that, smiling as he knew that I was serious about everything that I was saying to him. He needs to know that I am always going to protect my wife and future children at all cost. She's the woman I love, and that's just a fact. She's my priority, and I'm going to make sure that she's going to get as far as she can into this pregnancy. And that's what's going to happen. We're going to make sure that me and Gabby have these children. That's just a fact right now.
Antonio then took a breath as he got up, walking over to me. "I'm sorry that I even did that." I agreed with Antonio when he said that, putting my hand out. Antonio then grabbed it, proceeding to shake my hand; afterwards, I proceeded to hug him and just smiled at him. "How are you feeling about this by the way? You ready to be a dad?" I laughed when Antonio asked me that, nodding as I was definitely ready to be a dad. "Oh, I am definitely ready to be a dad. It's everything that I have ever wanted in the entire life. Right now, I want to just have a beautiful family with my wife." Antonio agreed with me when I said that, smiling due to the fact that he could just tell that me and Gabby were both ready to have a family. "Well, I know that you and Gabby have always wanted to have a family. So, for you guys to be pregnant with twins is even better." I laughed, agreeing with Antonio when he told me that. "It's a dream come true, and I am so ready for the twins."
Antonio laughed when I said that. "Be careful what you wish for brother. You do realize that you're going to be having kids with a Latina." I agreed with Antonio when he told me that, smiling at him. "Oh trust me, I am well aware of the fact that I'm having kids with a Latina. For us to have Latinx kids is a given. But I'm ready for that, since I'm been dealing with kids for a while." Antonio was confused when I said that. "How?" I laughed. "You do realize that some firefighters aren't as serious as I am about my job." Antonio then thought about it, just laughing as he looked at me. "I swear, you make really good points." I agreed with Antonio when he told me that, smirking as I went ahead and shook his hand. "How about we get you out of here? Then, I can go be with Gabby as we eat supper together. She just needs to take it easy and relax after all." Antonio agreed with me when I said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, I'm glad that you're going to make her rest."
I agreed with Antonio when he said that, smiling at him. "Of course, I'm going to make sure that she rests Antonio. That's my job as her husband because I love her more than anything in the entire world. I need to make sure that she rests and take it easy." Antonio nodded, smiling at me as I said that. "Well listen, I'm going to get out of here so that you can go rest with my sister. Maybe you can text me that she's okay later?" I agreed with Antonio when he said that, smiling as I proceeded to lead him out of the house so that me and Gabby could relax in our bed right now. We just need to rest, and we need to make sure that we both relax. Afterwards, I want to let Antonio out; closing the door behind him, I smiled as I went to lot up before taking a breath. Afterwards, I walked over to the pasta that we have so that I could make me and Gabby some bowls. After all, she does want to eat in bed; afterwards, we'll just take it easy as we cuddle in bed.
And the truth was, that's exactly what we need to do right now. We need to rest, and we just need to hold each other close. I need to relax with the woman of my dreams, and she needs to rest in my arms. That's all she needs right now, and that's all they are going to do for the rest of the night (after they have supper of course). It's going to be a nice night.
Matt's POV – Part 2:
Walking upstairs so that I can join Gabby in our room, where we're going to enjoy a nice supper together; I smiled as I got ready to just cuddle up to the woman of my dreams. The woman I love more than anything in the entire world. I just know that we're going to relax, and we're going to make sure that this is exactly what we're both going to do for the rest of the night. Gabby needs to rest, and I'm going to make sure that happens. Looking at the woman of my dreams, I smiled when I saw her open the covers so that we can both cuddle up to each other. After all, it's what she wants. And if that's what she wants, then it's what my beautiful wife is going to get. She is the most beautiful woman in the entire world after all. God, she is so damn sexy; and I am so glad that we're going to just relax and take it easy with each other. Walking over to Gabby, I smiled at my beautiful wife. "You ready to just relax and take it easy for the rest of the night?" Gabby agreed with me.
"Oh definitely, I think that's exactly what we both need to do right now." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, smiling as I proceeded to give her pasta to her. Afterwards, I went to sit down in bed with her. Wrapping my arm around her, I smiled due to the fact that she is just the most beautiful woman in the entire world. I am so proud of the fact that she's my wife, and there really is nobody else that I would rather be married to. Turning my head, I smirked due to the fact that I am so in love with my gorgeous wife. Grabbing her bowl, Gabby proceeded to put it in her lap so that she can eat this evening. "You glad that we're alone right now?" Gabby nodded when I asked her whether she's glad that we're alone. "Can we just stay here tomorrow too?" I agreed with Gabby when she asked me that. "Of course, we can baby. We can stay here as long as you want to stay here. It's everything that I want for you." I agreed with Gabby, smiling as I kissed her forehead once again. Afterwards, I went ahead and left some soft kisses on her forehead. God, I love you so much; and I'm so glad that we're having some kids." Gabby agreed with me, smiling as I said that. "Let's eat, then we can rest for the rest of the night." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as I'm definitely ready to take things nice and easy with the woman of my dreams for the rest of my life.
