Chapter 2:New Friend and New Genetics
August 29th 7:30 was another new morning in the beautiful well cesspool of Gotham right now as everyone was doing their best to get by. But inside the lavish apartment complex delilah woke up in her school attire all ready for the day right now sighing as she stretched her back out with a loud crack being heard.
"Alright time to get started"she said opening her door but the scampering of footsteps was heard
As something tackled her to the ground making her go off as she felt something wet hit her in the face. Looking up she saw the main culprit of who did it
That being a husky puppy with a light gray coat with white on their under belly. But they had a black color on with a golden circular object with their name on it. Which had the words winter emblazoned on it with her sighing ruffling the dog's coat.
"Come on winter get off…come on girl….get off me"She said as the husky known as winter did get off whining as she moved around in a circle for a bit nipping at her pant sleeve
"Well someone doesn't want someone to head off to school today…but too bad you gotta catch the bus. Along with getting used to the dorms again "Katherine said as her daughter sighed as the academy had dorms but she spent the last week at home since she got in trouble for starting a fight.
"Right that….i'll catch the nearest bus and head off dad drop off amy and daphne at daycare and school i guess"she asked as her mother hummed with a lunch prepared for her
"He did but I got this prepared for you. Some of my famous brownies are in their i know you like them now scoot and get to school"she said as delilah smiled taking the bag running out of her home to catch the nearest bus ride for school
As she ran around looking for a bus, thankfully she found one and got onboard it. She took it too the academy as she got off walking to a three story building right now. As it was a simple area as she sighed walking to the third floor where her dorm was.
Stepping inside she produced a key she kept as she unlocked it because she knew no one was in here. As she was lucky to have a dorm all by herself but she hoped to not have a strange day for her first day being back at school after her suspension.
But as she opened the door she opened her eyes to see her dorm room as it was stylished like her room on the one side with all her things. But something was amiss that being that there was someone in the room right now.
That being a girl who seemed half caucasian and half vietnamese with her being her age with her being at average height. With her having olive toned skin with long thick blonde hair and dark gray eyes. Along with having it in a ponytail as she had a slender in satire and athletic build to her it seems. She was wearing some gray sweatpants with a white t-shirt underneath a black leather jacket with it opened to reveal her front.
"Ummm who the heck are you?"delaih asked startling the girl who was unpacking some boxes
"Oh um i'm well artemis crock….well your new roommate"artemis greeted offering a hand as she frowned groaning loudly right now making artemis wince
"Is it that bad that i'm your roommate"She asked as delilah rubbed her face
"No just….ughhh i thought i'd never see the day i'd get one. Names delilah nikos"she greeted waving to her as she chuckled
"Well pleasure all mine….hey aren't you that rich guy daughter or whatever"artemis asked
"Step dad ...but in a way yes. So….you from gotham i take it"She asked as artemis nodded
"Yeah and well ... .I heard from the headmistress when I arrived that you're going to be my student liaison. Your my roommate and guide around this school hope we can get along"she said as delilah internally groaned right now but the squeaking of wheels could be heard
As she looked down the hall with someone rolling her way down in a wheelchair. That being a Vietnamese woman with a slender rebuild as she had black hair running down to the nape of her neck. Along with having dark eyes with pronounced cheekbones and lips. Her hair was combed over her ears but she had bangs that hand near her eyes and besides both her eyes. She is wearing a royal blue cardigan sweater with the sleeves rolled down to her elbows and a white shirt underneath it. She wore some dark green trousers and a pair of black sneakers.
But she was in a wheelchair which meant she was a paraplegic as a box was on her lap. The women looked up smiling
"Ohhhh umm hello dear can i help you with something"she asked
"Oh um no just well this is my room and this girl here i guess is my roommate"She greeted as the women smiled a little
"So you're my lovely daughter's roommates. I'm paula her mother pleasure to meet you umm…"she paused eyeing her for a moment before noticing who she is
"Ah you're the daughter of Katherine nikos and the step daughter of Phillip Bryce if I recall. Owner of bryce industries the biggest security company in all of gotham and around the world."paula greeted as delilah sighed
"That's me….but i aint like some of the preppy rich kids here i'm pleasant"she replied as paula laughed for a moment
"Well that's a relief. Besides my daughter here is just getting settled in…do you need help getting your things dropped off dear"she asked as artemis sighed
"No mom. But well…be careful with that box remember"she said as paula wheeled over to give her it. But as she did she accidentally dropped the box as the contents spilled out revealing silver arrows making artemis flinch as delilah picked one up with a surprised look
"You do archery or something"she asked as artemis quickly took the arrows
"Yeah…i do just a little bit of archery on the side why do you do it"artemis asked as delilah cupped her chin
"Just a tad bit over a couple summers. But parkour is my sort of thing with a couple of a my friend"deliah mentioned some of her interest
"Well you two seem to be getting along well. I need to get going let me know if you need anything dear"paula said wheeling herself away from them as delilah scratched her head in an awkward silence
"Wanna take a tour of the school"she asked
"Sure it'll be fun"artemis replied
The two of them began their journey around the school right now with Delilah showing her what their lavish school has to offer. With her mainly showing her the main benefits of the library and what it has to offer. Along with her showing her the best spot to relax and hang out at it. Along with that they made several stops on certain classrooms that artemis will be attending while she here at gotham academy
As she showed her the gymnasium on campus then she showed her their very own swimming pool which was a utter shock to artemis as they kept exploring the place
"This place has its own swimming pool guess this is a place where all the rich kids go"artemis jokes
"Hey, I may come from a rich family. But hey a few people here got onto scholarships you being one of them"deliah replied making artemis frown at that
"Right let me guess you hacked into my student profile"she asked
"Nope….well maybe my friend did their was rumors going around with you being accepted into the school on a special scholarship"deliah said making things awkward for a moment
"Anywho just well ummm…anyone interesting here like anyone from star city, coast city or well you know metropolis"She asked confusing her for a moment
"Ummm not really well one person is interesting from gotham and he's annoying"deliah replied
"How annoying"Artemis asked before suddenly she felt someone wrap an arm around her.
"Smile for the camera"a boy said as a phone was shoved into her face making her take a selfie with this person.
"We'll chat about this later"he said snapping it as he tired to run away but delilah growled snatching him back by his hair eyeing him down
"Grayson drop the damn phone now or else your dead meat"she warned as he winced with dick staring at her smiling.
"Heyya D mind letting me go just wanted to be friendly to the new girl"he said as she eyed him down shaking her head
"No you weren't….your messing with her give me your phone now"she said but someone called out to them
"Dick quit messing with them. I thought you were done with your childish antics''a female voice called out
Looking over it belonged to a thirteen year old girl who had shoulder length red hair with her having blue eyes. Along with wearing the same uniform like them as she had fair skin with her sporting glasses on her face right now
"Babs great your here to control the annoying twerp known as dick grayson"deliah growled as dick nervously smiled as she let him go with the girl sighing
"Call me barbara. Besides….dick can be a little enthusiastic at times with people"barbara said as delilah rolled her eyes
"Oh should i be more polite. Presenting barbara gordon the lovely daughter of jim gordon and the girl i had so many playdaytes with even though i'm three years older than her"deliah joked in a very dramatic fashion
There was a moment of silence between them as artemis chuckled
"So ummm you into stage drama or something"artemis asked
"Nope just me being sarcastic"deliah bluntly said as dick rubbed his neck
"Well pleasure to meet yah new girl i gotta dash"dick said as artemis glared a little
'Not so fast…what the"she said before seeing he was gone without a trace as a faint childish laughter could be heard in a distance right now taunting them.
"How did he do that?"artemis added
"He's always been able to do that."barbara replied as the bell rung right now
"That's lunch hey mind joining us barb for lunch to have my new roommate meet some new faces"deliah said as barbara nodded
"Sure thing it'll be fun"barbara said as they continued to lunch
Inside the lunch room a swarm of students were enjoying a hearty meal for the day right now. With the three girls getting their lunch as artemis stared at a wrapped turkey sub with a bowl of piping hot stew with some other items in the selection
Artemis took a small whiff of her food"okay if this place serves food like this. Whats next caveria for desert in class"She joked
"Nope. more likely subdue or some brownies…speaking of those my mom baked some babs"deliah replied
"I said call me barbara but ...i wouldn't mind having a couple of those. Maybe give one to my dad"barbara replied
As the three of them sat down with meadow, richie and sean their the first to notice a new face was sean who raised an eyebrow toward her
"Aye whos the new face here."sean questioned as they got silent with artemis awkwardly reaching a hand out
"I'm artemis crock the new umm student there…but you could probably guess that"artemis replied seeming to be a little awkward as they got silent
"Hey nothing to be awkward about your new here. I'm meadow the irish man here is sean"meadow said as the irish boy frowned in annoyance
"Aye, I may be from ireland. But me parents taught me a bit of wee english"sean argued
"Says the guy speaking like a true irishman. Names richie the resident genius of the group second to gordon here"richie said making barbara laugh
"I just scored a high enough score for the school SAT that one time"she replied
"Your a freshman and scored the highest score every for your entrance exam. Thats a huge deal"deliah replied eating some rice with some fish and bottle of green tea. With a small bag next to her which richie noticed eyeing it
"Ohhh don't tell me those are your moms famous brownies"richie asked as she smiled
Tearing the bag open she revealed six brownies right now offering one to her friend who took it. As he bite into it he hummed in delight with a satisfied look
"God i love how good these things are…its like i'm eating drugs"richie said
"Phrasing….but eh he's right there to die for"meadow said biting into one as barbara was handed one with delilah staring at artemis before offering her one
"Ohh um…i'm fine"she said
"Come on it'll be fine. Besides new buddie for our first start of the semester roommate"deliah said
Artemis stared at the brownie before her as she wanted to argue but it did smell good. Hesitantly she took the desert in her hands seeing the others staring at her as she grumbled
"Fine"she murmured biting into it
As she bites into it her eyes light up a little with the taste right now. It tasted very good right now like it was specially made with love and heart. As she took another bite which they noticed
"Oh boy here we go she got addicted"richie joked as artemis set the desert onto her tray
"Okay you were not lying it's like fireworks went off in my mouth but…okay fine they're good. "Artmeis replied smiling
"Well then welcome to the club so new girl you from gotham or what"richie aksed
"Well yeah i will live in some apartment complex with my mom."artemis replied to some curiosity right now
"Wait just your mom i know we just met but ummm anyone else or…."Sean paused hoping he didn't' hit a bad spot as artemis sighed looking down slightly
"It's fine…my parents got divorced is all dad wasn't really the best influence on me. But hey it's fine besides anything else i should know about the new stomping grounds of mine"artemis asked
"Well there are some rich elites here but some of them are nice. Others are just plain pricks i only got in thanks to a scholarship degree of mine"richie mentioned
"And what about the rest of you elite families i take it"artemis asked
"Oh you know i'm pretty much the daughter of some famous fashion model or whatever. Sean dad here is a pro boxer for gotham. Heard he even got in a brawl with bane before"meadow siad
"Bane as the super criminal addicted to venom? The same guy who almost broke gotham own batman…i highly doubt that''barbara replied firmly as sean rubbed his neck
"Aye no my dad was just minding his own business in his gym. Then they ran into his gym with him challenging him. The muscular brute said he was the best. My dad fought him"sean stated as artemis was curious how that went
"And how'd that go for their little brawl"she asked as he had a shocking answer
"Aye my pops almost beat him and knocked one of his teeth out. For showing such a good brawl he spared him and owed him a favor apparently. But no one ever believed him except me and my mother"sean replied as she found that very unbelievable right now chuckling a little
"So i hear that three of you are famous. Ones pretty smart while the other is insane"artemis jokes
"Hey"sean said
"Hey no one believes you ever on that man '' Richie said as they laughed for a moment as they continued to talk. But the sound of footsteps could be heard approaching them before laughter and a scoff was heard
"Well lookie here it's the bleacher hair whore who broke my nose a week ago….how you been bitch"a female voice spoke up
They all turned to face it as it belonged to a sixteen year old girl who had pale skin like ice. With her having black hair like silk reaching her shoulder. While she had a slender appearance to her she had a pronounced jaw and eyes with her eyes being black in color. Along with wearing the same uniform as them. But her nose was bandaged with it slightly bruised as delilah groaned
"What do you want now dent"deliah asked as the girl scoffed
"I want an apology for what you did to me. My mother is pretty pissed still how you got away with assaulting me for a simply little disagreement i had with your homo of a friend here"the girl said directly to richie who looked down upset right now with delilah growling at her
"Don't call him that becky i dare you to call him that one more time"deliah threatened getting up clenching her fist as the girl known as becky dent smirked smugly at her
"You know if you do anything to me again you're going to be expelled. besides…"She paused eyeing richie who looked down upset still as she always said this too him
"I aint a little homo freak here. Besides, if he doesn't like girls then he wouldn't mind getting beaten up by a boyfriend again. He'll probably enjoy it"she said with a grin right now as her encourage laughed in her support right now
This made the two groups of teens at a standstill right now as Delilah closed her eyes knowing what would happen if she got in trouble. But surprisingly a laugh was heard from artemis right now catching becky attention
"Who the hell are you"She asked as artemis looked up smiling
"Me, I'm the new girl…. But man isn't your last name familiar"artemis taunted as becky narrowed her gaze right now
"Shut up new girl or you'll regret it"becky warned as artemis saw she touched a nerve right now
"I touched a nerve. You wouldn't happen to be the daughter of jessica dent…the twin sister of one harvey dent also the criminal two face"she asked as meadow went oh for a moment with sean snickering a little as becky became flustered right now
"Shut…shut up! That guy isn't my stupid uncle i don't even have one!"She shouted in embarrassment as barbara sighed annoyed now
"Becky, go away , we all know who your uncle is. Lucky for you your mom is the mayor and wants him put away. But seriously go away before you get something worse than a broken nose"she threatened
As there was silence but with a mighty huff Becky walked away from the trash. Once she was gone artemis felt a hand placed on her shoulder making her jump a little seeing it was meadow who blinked confused for a moment
"Hey chill out new girl….just wanna say congrats on defending richie here she's been so cruel since one of her posey found out he had a major crush on her boyfriend."meadow said embarrassing her friend right now even more as he groaned loudly
"Come on…..don't phrase it like that"richie aksed
"Well don't fall for a scumbag jerk like him besides let's get today over with and enjoy some time off"Sean replied as they did but Becky watched from a distance glaring at them wanting some payback for the brat who broke her nose right now.
As the day went on and one for them classes were boring as usual. They were taught the usual history lessons about their great city and how it had certain threats over the years. But they got taught american history as well on other subjects
As they exited their last class of the day they regrouped all except for barbara who needed to head home for something important as they grouped up in the dorms
"So how was your first day here new girl"richie asked
"Better than i expected. But i really need to get to bed early tonight gotta catch up on my sleep"artemis replied confusing them right now
"Come on, it's only 3:00. I mean who goes to bed at this time of day. What are you a superhero or something"meadow jokes
As Artemis chuckled at that as internally she seemed bothered by that right now but knew how to keep a straight face. With deliah sighing as she twirled her hair around for a bit.
"Come on chill for a bit. Besides….i already know who meadow brought from home she said as her friend blushed as she slowly slinked into her dorm room which was down the hall from her and artemis. As she stepped out presenting mochi who let out a tiny meow
This surprised them as sean smacked his face"aye last time you brought her here she almost got thrown out a window."he reminded as she winced
"My parents are busy and i already got approval from the headmistress. She says it's fine...not my fault a couple of dent posey are allergic to cats''she replied with a growl in her throat
"You guys must really hate her"artemis noted
"She's a rude jerk and thinks she is better than everyone. But mention her dumb uncle and she goes all psycho maybe it runs in the family"richie joked as they laughed but someone approached them scoffing
"Call me a psycho like that again homo and i'll have my mom get you expelled"bekcy said as they all flinched hearing her voice as quickly meadow snuck mochi into her room for safe keeping as she closed the door as delilah studied the pompous brats before her right now
"What do you need dent"she growled as becky smirked
"I want my apology now or else"becky threatened as the girl smacked her own face sick of this getting up
"Fine you want your apology then follow me"deliah said as she began to walk away with becky and her posey following her as artemis got up to help but sean held her back
"Are you seriously letting those punks go with her by herself"artemis growled
"Eh be more worried about the hospital bills they'll need to pay for…..she's a scrapper like me"sean said confusing her
As outside of the academy right now escorting the preppy jerks outside was delilah. Who walked to a nearby corner of the academy right now already guessing something was a dead end. With her looking back seeing becky and her cronies right there with her rolling her eyes
"Let me guess your gonna hire some thugs to beat me up"she taunted with a grin as becky scoffed
"God no…ask a few of my boyfriend friends to help out"bekcy said snapping her fingers. As emerging from the side where four boys with a couple carrying metal pipe with one carrying a bat as one smashed their fist together as she internally groaned rolling her eyes heavily
"Really this is your little plan? Gang up on me and force me to apologize fat chance bitch"deliah taunted walking forward shoving past them
"I ain't in the mood bye bye"she added
This surprised them for a moment as one of the boys spat to the side. As he ran over whacking a metal pipe over the back of Delilah's head. This caught her off guard as she fell to the ground as her vision slightly went hazy for just a moment. As it did one of the boys laughed at her as he twirled his metal pipe
"Guess we can get payback on you for breaking our buddies arm bitch. Now….lets have some fun"he said as they dragged her back into the alleyway right now.
With one of the boys getting on top of her ripping her top off revealing her in a black lacy bra. With Becky pulling her phone off to record as she smiled with the other girls laughing. With delilah half conscious right now as she felt them slip a hand into her pants right now
This just enraged her that they were so low right now to do this at their school. So low that they had the gull to do this with her internally snapping right now. As she felt something slowly pulse through her body right now like something was awakening after a long slumber right now. Before suddenly her skin shimmered around in a purple glow which one of the boys noticed
"The fuck is up with her skin"he asked
This made becky scoff"god just ruin her life so i can blackmail her dumbass"she said but suddenly delilah skin erupted into a blue hazy glow right then and there. As it did it sent the boy off her as he hit the wall hard with the others being knocked down by the force
With delilah sitting up right now as she looked around covering herself with her hands. Before she stared at her hands as a hazy blue glow came off her body with her looking stunned as she thought about what this was right now. She had superpowers.
With that deliah has gained her strange powers along with that what will she do with them. Also if your wondering who jessica dent is, she actually in a comic series and is harvey dent twin sister no joke look it up. Wanted to do something interesting and add other villians that haven't had the spotlight yet. Thanks for reading!
