Hi Readers, and welcome to another day of chapters for this nice journey that I'm currently taking you on. I hope that you are all enjoying the journey that I am taking Matt and Gabby on right now. And I really wouldn't be opposed to you guys giving me some feedback. So, let me know what you guys think. Now, here we go with Chapter Fifty-One.

Chapter Fifty-One
A Dawson Thanksgiving – Part Two

Sitting into the living room with his brother-in-law, Matthew Casey smiled as this was nice. Being here, surrounded by family on thanksgiving; it was exactly what both himself and his wife needed today. Plus, Matt needs to get used to this after all; being surrounded by this family constantly. He knows full well that, the moment his children are born; they are going to be over at his place constantly to spend time with them. And there's also a possibility that his mother-in-law moves in with them in the early months of his children's lives. However, that's still something that he has to talk to Gabby about; as he's thinking of (trying) to get in touch with his mother once again, and he might try and convince Gabby to let her move in (he thinks he already did though) so that she could get the experience that she never got when Christie gave birth. But that's a conversation that doesn't need to happen at his moment, as Matt is not currently speaking to his wife. Rather, he's currently speaking to his police officer brother-in-law about a topic he has questions for him about: his recent job change.

Or more specifically, his lack of a job at the moment. He just hopes that his brother-in-law understands why he decided to leave the fire department once again, especially since he has been in a similar situation before; as you all know, Antonio's own son was kidnapped by Pulpo a few years back. And the truth was, he really doubts that anybody would have blamed the father if he wanted to leave the police department after that event; and that's why Matt believes that, as a father, Antonio will understand why Matt decided to leave the CFD (again) so that he can stay safe. So that he can stay safe, for the sake of his pregnant wife; and for the sake of his future children. The children that he wants to meet (and raise) more than anything in the entire world, as it's always been a dream of his to be a father; and with it being so close to coming to fruition, Matt doesn't want to put it at risk more than he has to. And he just knows himself too well that, this event that he just experienced (with Benny being a father); it will throw him off, and it may put his chance of being a father on the line.

Now, it's just time to explain that to his brother-in-law; his brother-in-law who is quite judgmental, and he knows it. Taking a breath, Matt was about to start talking when he heard his lovely wife walk over to him. "Here, I decided to bring you guys some water." Turning his head to look up at his wife, Matt smiled as that was exactly what he needed right now; he needed something to start the conversation, that was not related to the topic that the two gentlemen were ultimately going to be discussing this afternoon. Seeing his beautiful wife walk up to him, Matt smiled as he went to grab the glass she gave him. "Thanks baby." Gabby smiled when she heard Matt say that, well aware that he was quite relieved that she just came over here at the moment. She then watched as he got up from the couch that he was sitting on so that he could wrap his arm around her, which was something that she definitely enjoyed feeling. Getting close to her, Matt smiled as he pressed his lips to her forehead before whispering to her. "Thanks, I'm just trying to think of what to say." Gabby agreed with her husband.

Looking up at him, Gabby smiled as she kissed him softly. "Just tell him the truth. Now listen, I just got this burst of energy. I'm going to help my mom, and I already asked her to watch me closely. You just take some time to breathe and talk to my brother okay baby? My mom's got me." Matt agreed with Gabby when she told him that, smiling as he proceeded to grab her hand. Stroking it with his thumb, he smirked as he watched Gabby walk away from him; swaying her hips in the process, Gabby made sure that he was going to earn her tonight. "Oh you….if only I could swear right now." Antonio just laughed when he heard his brother-in-law say that, well aware of just what he was talking about; he was talking about the fact that his sister just turned him on right now. "Hey, that's the price you pay for getting a woman pregnant. She's hormonal, and needs to tease you all the time." Gabby groaned when Antonio said that. "Don't remind me. God, did Laura have to wear her blouses like that all the time! Now, talk boys. I'm helping mom." Antonio agreed with his sister, smiling at her.

Smiling at his wife as he sat back down once again, Matt just watched as she walked back into the kitchen; closing the doors behind her, she made sure that her husband was going to concentrate on the conversation that he's going to have with her brother rather than her in the kitchen. "Thanks babe." Gabby nodded (behind the closed doors) before going to walk away to help her mom (which was another reason she closed the doors), so that her husband couldn't tell her to sit down all the time. They both need to take a breather right now, and she needs a bit of time away from her husband; god, and they say that pregnant women are the hormonal ones when they're expecting a baby with their husbands. Not in her marriage, Matt is definitely much more hormonal than she is in their relationship; and Gabby will never let him deny that fact. But now that we got that out of the way, it's finally time for the brothers-in-law to have the conversation that they are planning to have with each other as they share a drink (of water of course, as Antonio is a recovering alcoholic). "Let's start with you first."

Antonio looked at his brother when he said that. "Oh, so that's the game that we're going to play now?" Matt was a bit confused when he heard Antonio ask him if that's the game that they're going to play, unsure of just what Game he's referring to. "Okay, can you be more specific on what game you're talking about exactly?" Matt smiled. "You staying sober?" Antonio smiled when Matt asked him that. "I just hit 1 year of sobriety." Gabby, hearing that from the kitchen was happy. "Congrats Toni." Antonio agreed. "Thanks sis." Matt smiled when he heard Antonio say that. "Well I'm happy about that, as that's definitely something that me and Gabby both want for you Antonio; and I have actually been meaning to mention something." Antonio looked at his brother-in-law when he said that. "Oh, and what's that?" Matt smiled. "You know that you can always talk to me about that stuff right Antonio? If you ever need someone to talk about it with…"

Antonio laughed, smiling. "Oh, thanks Matt." Matt smiled at him. "Hey, we're both invested in that. Trust me, I'm just as invested in your sobriety as you are." Antonio seemed to be a bit confused when Matt said that, unsure as to just why that would be the case. "Okay, why's that the case?" Matt sighed as he turned to look at his wife, seeing that she was deep in conversation with her brother. "I know that, even though she doesn't talk to me about it as much as she should talk to me about it…" Antonio then understood what he was talking about. He was talking about Gabby. "Gabby still worries about me, and my sobriety." Matt nodded. "Each and every day. So, that's why we always like it when you come to Molly's." Antonio smirked. "I thought it was because you got some extra money from Uncle Antonio." Matt just laughed. "Well, that doesn't hurt. By the way, I need to talk to the co-owners about that. I need them to make sure that all money you pay to the bar doesn't get split up. Your money goes to us." Antonio smirked when Matt said that, agreeing with him because it was nice.

"I should just tell them to open a tab there, and then I can just give you whatever's on the tab. I mean, not like they can't trust me to pay for the tab." Matt smirked. "Or they just take it from the paycheck that they give us." That's when Matt thought of something, going to grab his phone in the process. "Sorry, I just thought of something." Antonio was confused. "And what's that?" Matt smirked. "I need to get my bartender's license." Gabby, hearing that from the kitchen smirked. "I love that idea baby! That means you can work instead of just sitting your ass down, not like you're drinking there anytime soon!" Matt smirked. "Yeah. Plus, they're going to need me over the holidays. By the way Gabby, get ready to spend New Year's Eve at the bar." Gabby was confused when she heard Matt say that, not ready for that. "Excuse me, but I'm spending New Year's Eve in bed!" Matt laughed. "Then who's going to be working the bar? Herrmann and Stella are on shift! You know that Herrmann is going to ask us, because that's one of our most profitable nights of the year. It's a money maker."

Gabby laughed. "Fine, then I'll just come spend New Year's Eve here. You can…" Matt put a stop to that idea. "Hell no!" Camila was not happy when she heard that. "MATTHEW! Language please." Matt agreed with his mother-in-law when she said that. "Sorry Camila, I was just saying that…my wife is not spending New Year's Eve away from me; especially not when it's our last one where (1) we're just husband and wife, and (2) the last one we're guaranteed to share a midnight kiss. I mean, we might be changing the twins or feeding them when the clock strikes midnight." Gabby thought about that, agreeing with her husband. "You make a good point. Fine, I'll be at Molly's; or I can just meet you there for midnight." Matt shrugged when he heard Gabby say that, well aware that it can be debated. "We can talk about that. But right now, I'm just going back to my conversation that I'm having with your brother." Gabby agreed. "Eva and Diego coming?" Antonio smiled. "I just texted Laura, and I told them that you're here; and that I want the kids here for supper, maybe a bit earlier."

Gabby smiled. "Perfect, because I'm not sure how late were going to stay. I'm probably going to be tired." Antonio then turned to look at Matt. "So, we're not watching football today then?" Matt sighed, because I was going to spend the night. Gabby just looked at her brother. "Sorry Toni, but me and Matt need to be at home tomorrow morning; it's really close to some of the shops I want to hit right away. The baby stores are all there, and I want to hit it." The siblings' mother then spoke up. "Seriously, can you at least wait until after Christmas to do your baby shopping Gabriela. I would like to buy that for Christmas." Gabby sighed as she looked at her mom, knowing that she wants to do this bad; and she wants to let her do it, but she's so conflicted. She's wanted to do this for the longest time…and she's already done her first trimester. With Matt working in January, she wants to do it while Matt's off; and she wants to do it while she can walk. Taking a breath, she got a bit overwhelmed between what she wants; and what she needs to do to make it easy. That's when she got up.

"Excuse me." Gabby then went to rush away, clearly overwhelmed at the moment. "Baby." Just watching his wife rush away, Matt was confused. He then turned to look at his brother-in-law. "Think we can talk about why I quit the CFD when I come back? I need to go check on Gabby." Antonio agreed with his brother-in-law when he asked him that, nodded. "Of course. Go ahead Matt, go check on Gabby; please, make sure that she's okay." Matt agreed with Antonio when he said that, taking a breath as he proceeded to go make his way up to wherever Gabby went off to so that he can talk to her.

Matt's POV:
Quietly walking through the upstairs hallway of my mother-in-law's home (with the bag that had Gabby's sweats in it), I took a breath as I looked through some of the rooms to try and find Gabby; I needed to do that, as I was trying to get worried. With her having just rushed off like that, I really had no idea what was going on in her head right now, and I just needed to make sure that she was okay right now. She just seemed off when she ran away, and that was wrong. Now, I need to make sure that my baby's okay; but I soon realized that she wasn't okay, especially not when I heard her crying a bit in one of the bedrooms. Now, just to figure out which bedroom that was. Walking up to one of the bedrooms, I went to look in and saw my wife there. Thank God I decided to grab some of Gabby's comfortable clothes, as I had a feeling that this was really what she needed to wear. Sure, do I love the dress she's wearing? Of course, she looks really sexy wearing it.

But right now, she doesn't need to look sexy. She needs to be comfortable for the sake of our children, and that's just a fact that she can't deny. Right now, she needs to think about our kids; and she needs to think about what she wants. Seeing Gabby sitting in what might be her old bed, I took a breath as I went to (gently) knock on the door to get her attention. Looking up, Gabby took a breath when she saw me. "Sorry I just…" I shook my head when Gabby started to say something. "No, don't say a word; I don't need you to apologize to me. I just need you to take a breath for the sake of the twins." Gabby agreed with me, taking a breath as she looked comfortable on the bed. "You grabbed the bag." I nodded. "That's not the priority right now though." Walking into the room, I proceeded to close the door behind me so that me and Gabby could take a moment alone. Right now, she needs me to wrap my arm around her and just hold her close to me today.

Walking over to the bed where me and Gabby were going to sit, I went to set the bag down at the foot of the bed before grabbing her water bottle; as I want her to take a sip of water, that way she can relax and just take it easy. It's what she needs to do right now, as there's nothing more important that her health (along with the health of our kids). "Listen, how about we start with taking some breaths okay baby?" Gabby agreed with me when I said that, doing just that. Afterwards, I came to join her on the bed so that I could hold her; and that was both for her sake, and for my sake. I want to make sure that she's okay before we even decide to go back downstairs, since we need to just concentrate on what's the best for her. And this is actually why I wanted her to just sit on the couch and relax today, which she is going to do when we're downstairs. "Okay, first thing that we're going to talk about…" Grabbing her water bottle from me, Gabby looked up.

"What's that?" Smiling at her, I proceeded to sit down next to her and wrapped my arm around her. "First thing, you're done standing in the kitchen okay?" Gabby turned her head and looked at me. "Me and you, were going to sit in the living room; and we're just going to relax okay?" Gabby thought about it and agreed with me as she took a sip of water. Pressing my lips to her forehead, I smiled at her because I knew that her agreeing to that was something that wasn't easy for her to do. I know that she really likes to help her mom in the kitchen, but that's not our priority at the moment. Rather, our kids are our priority now. "We need to prioritize the kids and just make sure that you take it easy baby." Gabby looked up at me when I told her that, smiling at me. "Yeah, and I understand that." I smiled at my beautiful wife when she told me that, glad that we're already in agreement over the fact that she needs to sit in the living room with me rather than in the kitchen.

"Second thing, you're going to take it easy and just relax now okay? You're not going to overdo it, and you're going to relax for the rest of our time here. Your main priority right now is our children. If you being here makes you all stressed out, then we can't stay baby. And I need you to understand that Gabby, that you need to be healthy more than we need to be with your family on thanksgiving." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling as she took another sip of water. "And lastly, you need to remind your family that they can't do this to you. You need to tell your mom that, we need to do things our way. We need to do things at our own pace, and we need to do things when we believe things need to happen; if that means that we need to go shopping for baby stuff earlier than a baby shower, then that's what we need to do. And you need to put your foot down, and you can't run away." Gabby took a breath. "Sorry, she's just my mom and…" I agreed.

"I know, it's scary to stand up to your mom. Believe me, your family is intimidating." Gabby laughed when I said that. "You do a good job standing up to my brother, and my father…" I nodded when she said that. "Yeah, but that gets me in trouble with you sometimes." Gabby nodded as she heard me say that, well aware that she does in fact give him shit. "Yeah, sorry about that in the past. You were right when it came to my dad, he did give his input too much." I smiled. "And your brother is the same way. Gabby, we need to remind them that…they don't know our marriage, and they'll never know our marriage. So, they can't really judge us for what we do and don't do for the sake of our children. Heck, we could just shop online if it's too much." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling at me. "I know what I want to do some shopping for soon." I looked at Gabby when she told me that. "Oh, and what's that?" Gabby smiled. "I want to get away on our anniversary."

I smiled when Gabby told me that she wants to get away on our anniversary, as that's something that I definitely want too. "And we can get away, we'll figure it out. Maybe we can do something soon. But right now, we just need to make sure that you're okay. We need to make sure that you take it easy. And Gabby, I hate to say this but…I think that maybe we should ask your mom to have an early dinner. I know that you want to stay as long as you can, but I don't think that's the best for our children. Your family….how can I say this nicely." Gabby laughed. "Can be very provoking, and can set me off very easily?" I sighed. "Yeah, that's a nice way to put it. Gabby, we need to really concentrate on your health okay? If you start feeling like this is too much…I don't care whether it's in an hour, or in 3 hours; we need to leave when you feel like it's getting to be too much. I know you love your family, but I love my family here too." I then put my hand on her stomach.

"And we need to think about them first baby. We need to concentrate on our future family first, before we can concentrate on your family." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "Yeah, I know." I smiled at my girl when she told me that. Bending down, I smiled at her and then kissed her softly. "How about this? I'll go downstairs and ask your mom if we can eat at 4? Then, we can stay for a bit for you to digest…and then we can leave at 6. We can go home and take it easy before the winter storm comes in tonight." Gabby bit her lip. "Yeah, there's supposed to be one tonight." I nodded as I bent down and kissed my girl's forehead softly. "Listen, let's get you changed; then, I want you to sit in here for at least 10 minutes and do some breathing. Then, you come down. I will have already talked to your mom and Antonio. I promise that we can leave by 6, whether your family likes it or not; because I want to be home tonight. I want you resting in bed tonight." Gabby bit her lip.

"Want to call Stella and Kelly first?" I smiled when she asked me that. "How about you do that? I'm going to call him later while I watch the game when you sleep in my arms. And I have to go talk to your family okay? Then, I am going to explain to your brother why I quit the CFD." Gabby agreed with me, smiling. "Thanks for doing that again." I shook my head when Gabby said that. "Hey, I didn't just do it for you baby, I did it for both myself…and our children. I want to be a dad more than anything in the entire world, and that's why I did it." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling at me. I then went to kiss her forehead softly. "Just take a breather baby, and concentrate on what matters okay? And that's our kids. First and foremost, you concentrate on our kids." Gabby smiled when I said that. "Our daughters. I think it's going to be daughters." I smiled, agreeing with Gabby when she said that, bending down to kiss my beautiful wife softly. "I love the sound of that."

Gabby nodded, smiling at me. "And I love you more than anything in the entire world. And I just feel so lucky to be able to call you my husband." I smiled, agreeing with Gabby when she told me that. "I'm the lucky one baby, and I will always be the lucky one." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that, smiling because she knew that was the truth. "I love you." I nodded, agreeing with Gabby when she told me that. I then kissed her forehead softly, just smirking due to the fact that Gabby is the most beautiful woman in the entire world. "See you soon. And remember, you come first. I don't care how long they want you to stay. You tell me when you want to leave, and we will leave. You're health, and that of our children come first." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling as she gave me one last kiss. "Now, let's get you changed. Then, you can sit here for a minute; and I can go downstairs." Gabby agreed with me, smiling as she watched me get up to help her get changed.

Matt's POV – Continued:
Once I finished helping Gabby get changed, I smiled as I watched her sit back down on the bed so that she could get all comfortable and just do some breathing, which she desperately needed to do right now. She just needs to take it easy, and concentrate on her breathing for the sake of our children. "Remember baby, our kids come first." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that, smiling as she took another sip of her water. "And I have the best husband in the entire world." I smirked when I heard Gabby tell me that. "Well, that's a given since I love you more than anything." Gabby smiled when I told her that. "Don't be too cocky Matthew." I laughed when I heard Gabby tell me that, getting up while holding her hand. Afterwards, I stroked it with my thumb as I continued to look at the most important woman in my world. "I promise that I'm going to go talk to your brother and mom. We will be leaving here by 6 tonight, because we want to be out of here before the storm. Your pregnancy comes before us staying late." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that, smiling as we were both in completely agreement with each other when it came to when we would be leaving together today. "I understand."

I smiled when I heard Gabby tell me that, proceeding to leave a soft kiss on my beautiful wife's forehead. God, she is just the most beautiful woman in the entire world; and I am a very lucky man to call her my wife. "Stay up here for at least 15 minutes okay baby? Do your breathing, and just take it easy. If you need me, just call for me. And if you decide you want to leave, then we can. Remember what I said…" Gabby smiled at me. "Me and the pregnancy come first." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "That's my girl." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling at me. "And did I ever tell you that I have the best husband in the entire world." I laughed a bit when I heard Gabby tell me that. "Keep flirting with me like that, and you'll have me in this bed." Gabby shook her head when I said that. "Want me to bring the bag down?" Gabby shook her head. "I got it baby. Just go down and talk to my mom and brother for us." II agreed with Gabby, smiling at her.

"I promise baby, they'll understand why we have to do this. It's for your health, and that's just something that they will never argue with us about." Gabby smiled when I said that. "Yes, now can you please go do what you told me that you're going to go do? Or else, I might kick you out of here myself." I laughed when I heard Gabby tell me that, well aware that she will do that very easily. Turning around, I smiled as I went ahead and made my way downstairs to tell her family the news.
