Chapter 7:I'm Your Mentor
September 7th 5:30pm outer space/watch tower
Inside the deepest reaches of outer space right now there was one thing floating around high in the atmosphere. That being an orbiting satellite from the looks of it. As it was a large rock shaped like object but more importantly it was home to a certain selection of people right now that being the justice league themselves
Inside the grand room was batman, green arrow, black canary with several other faces in the room right now.
The first a strongly built caucasian male it seems but his entire body was covered in silver. As he had safe gloves and boots which are both red. With a stylish atom symbol in the middle
This was the captain atom.
The next was a middle age caucasian male with an athletic build. While he wore a green and black colorway associated with a corp also known as the green lantern insignia on his chest. He had on a green domino mask to keep his identity safe from others. With him having brown hair cut short styled
As this green lantern or by his real name hal jordan
The next was a man wearing a full bodysuit that was all red with two small yellow lightning bolts across his waist and wrist. With a yellowing lighting bolt on his chest as this was central city scarlet speedster
The Flash is also known as Barry allen.
The next was a tall muscular caucasian male with short blonde hair and a blond beard. And he had a set of aqua eyes. As he had an orange scale mali tunic and a pair of dark green leggings. As around his waist is a gold belt that is clasped with a stylized letter A. with a pair of golden gauntlets on his wrist and dark green greaves.
This was aquaman also known as orin
After that it was a noticeable tall and fair skinned woman with straight waist length black hair and blue eyes with broad shoulders. She is ageless and attractive in appearance. Sporting a slender and athletic frame with a well toned yet muscular build.
Her attire consisted of a strapless red bustier held up by a brace of gold resembling two W's. She has a large golden belt and blue briefs with five white stars on them. She wears red boots with a white stripe on the front. She wears silver brackets around her wrists, red star earrings and wears a golden diadem with a red star on her forehead with a golden lasso which hangs from her belt.
This was wonder woman also known as diana prince
The next and last was a tall muscular caucasian male with a vivid pair of blue eyes and short black hair curled over his forehead. He wears a blue uniform with his famous red and yellow S on the front in the shape of a shield. He wore red trunks and a yellow belt with red boots and a cape
This was superman and by his real name it was clark kent
As they were sitting there waiting it seemed batman seemed impatient grumbling a little as wonder woman sighed
"Bruce calm down j'onn will be here with nico in a moment"diana said to the man also known as a bruce wayne the most infamous playboy
"I thought we agreed everyone to be here on time for this meeting"bruce replied
"Well Bruce, a few of us are on missions with my fellow green lantern in another sector. But well hawkman and hawkwoman are well"hal paused
"Fled to their love nest for their anniversary we allowed it. No need to get into the details"barry joked
"And Captain marvel? He's suppose to be here"captain atom mentioned
"Busy it seems. He had an important matter come up and couldn't attend the meeting"green arrow answered as black canary sighed
"It seems short on hands. But once those two arrive with a guest i requested we can start"she mentioned shocking some of them as orin stared at her
"Dinah we cannot bring any uninvited guest to the watchtower"orin said
"Hey come on fish scales she's got a good reason"green arrow supported
"Ollie, she might have caused a security risk without going through with us on this. Dinah, who did you call "Diana" , questioned as she eyed Bruce who stared back, not making any emotion right now.
As soon enough the doors to the hall opened as someone arrived into the hall right now.
The first being a tall green skinned humanoid with a completely bald head. With an oddly proportioned head with heavy brows and thick lips with a set of red eyes. His costume seemed primarily black with red accents and a large belt and an x-shaped strap across his chest. He wore a blue cape that is fastened by gold clips.
While next to him was also a man who wore a light gray costume in color but he had on red wrappings on his wrist and ankles. Along with that he had no sleeves on the outfit showing off Aztec like tattoos on his arms. While there was also how he had a utility belt colored crimson red on his hips. He wore some heavy duty combat boots with silver clasp on them. As he had a long scarf colored black with red tips and faded on the end of it. While he had black hair slicked back as his mask was off. Revealing a tan skinned man with a beard and goatee with a set of yellow eyes
The first man was martian manhunter also known as j'onn j'onzz
The next was nico pierce also known as revenant a new superhero for the league
While there was one surprising face that was Phillip holding a pet carrier in his hands right now. The leaguer stared at them for a moment
"We are sorry we were late. Mr. bryce needed to make a stop home"j'onn said
"It's not trouble at all j'onn because umm…i see someone had to…bring their pet to work"dinah noticed as phillips sighed taking an available seat
"Sorry my wife suggest sending little ghost with me. Maybe bring him to keep my um daughter company"philip said as that got brought up with nico taking a seat sighing
"Ah yes that….let's get started shall we"nico said as they all got seated with bruce beginning
"As you may know as of last night. The team was alerted on a possible new superpowered…individual in the area''bruce said
"And what exactly happened? Your report stated that a child was injured"diana questioned
"Ah yes, he is a friend of my daughter. His name is richie. He severely got hurt but he got help at the hospital and will be making a full recovery"phillip said with a pause which j'onn noticed staring at him
"Is there something else to add "he asked as the man stared at the martian sighing as he already knew
"He umm….lost the feeling in both his legs…the doctor said that knife crippled him from the waist down. He won't be able to walk again"philip said
"Thanks to that girl incompetence from what i saw in the report"captain atom replied making the man glare at him
"Nate!"dinah called out as he eyed her
"What? It was this kid's fault for crippling him. Says here on the report that she fired off some blast trying to hit black spider and it caused him to stab the poor kid. She should be held responsible for that"nate said as phillip growled at him for that
"My daughter's friend got hurt in an accident! She is just a child! "He shouted as the man narrowed his gaze for a moment as clark cleared his throat making them go silent
"Nate, it's quite rude to jump to conclusions. Please could we all be civilized about this''clark said softly as they all paused for a moment as the man of steel was a great source of reason as captain atom nodded keeping his peace as they continued
"On that. Did we manage to capture him?"hal asked
"No. unfortunately he escaped along with the fabled oswald cobblepot….the creepy bird of gotham"ollie answered to their annoyance right now as barry sighed
"Well he'll turn up and bat can nab him for some answers. You think you can find him quickly"he asked
"I know most of the penguins ' hideouts. Most likely his lounge, the iceberg lounge, is his most prominent hideout. But black spider evaded capture with a league of assasin members. But one thing is strange"he stated as some find that puzzling
"You are strange? Let me guess Bruce they should't be their'clark asked as the man nodded. Typing in the air with a holographic touch screen appearing. It displayed something that being the weapons from the crates
"These are high end assault rifles found at the scene. They're all custom made with silencers, flip sights, removable stocks and several other gun parts. Seems ra's al ghul is stepping up his game in the arms department"batman explained
"That wouldn't be the first. But he usually prefers the shadows now who would need this"diani asked as phillip looked away for a moment sighing
"It could be deathstroke. A well known assassin under them if I recall correctly? He has the military experience since he was...my father friend back in the day"phillip mentioned as it got some question
"Friend? Hold up you got connections to some merc buddy"nico question finally speaking up as bruce sighed
"He has a minor connection with his security company. Buy back to a previous topic '' Bruce said playing the next image showing a small video of Delilah losing it with her power right now which made Clark feel a little uncomfortable seeing that right now. As barry crossed his arms for a moment staring at it with dinah closing her eyes as he shut it off
"So you decide to show us some kid screaming in pain"barry joked to lighten the mood
"That kid almost lost it. I've never seen this form of power before and right now I'd like to conduct some tests. Because if we ever let her into the field we–"bruce was stopped
"Field? Are you sure she might get hurt"philip said with worry
"Rest assured we won't do that. We will evaluate this situation but how dangerous are these powers of the child"orin asked
"We have no clue. All i know is that he threw boys scout here little brother through a wall with ease"ollie said pointing at clark who flinched a little at that as he didn't feel comfortable with that clone of his still at this point in time
"Ah yes connor….but that is strange for someone to possess this are you sure you know nothing of this "he asked as phillip sighed shaking his head right now
"I have no clue ...my wife might but she refuses to even come near you all remember she's quite paranoid. She is always watching my other two daughters right now. "Phillip explained
"That's alright. But what do you suggest we do train the kid here in her powers or something"hal asked as they all paused for a moment as dinah nodded
"That would be an excellent idea. Since one of us has no student or mentee in a way…nico''she said looking at the man who flinched hearing that as he nervously laughed
"Why would I be this kid's teacher? I ain't got any clue on how her powers work i'm a terrible teacher i'm sure"nico said but clark shook his head
"Your powers are similar to hers in a way. You can call upon aztec spirits to aid you and that haze she emitted is slightly similar to yours. But very different"he explained playing the feedback with no sound zooming in on the haze as nico thought for a moment long and hard as diana thought of something
"Nico, it would be great for you to start with us after a year. You mainly patrol in Mexico and Texas. We could use the support on this. Besides i remember one time you mentioned wanting a student"She said making him growl for a moment as he did say that
As he thought about it he sighed"alright fine! I'll teach the girl and we can not send her on a mission in a week. An easy one that like dismantling a drug or smuggling operation"he said as the league began to agree on that
As their sumit was closing as they left, Dinah approached Phillip who was with J'onn and Nico right now. Along with diana and clark right now
"Well it seems you're happy right now sir. We'll make sure your daughter is in safe hands"clark said as the man sighed
"Please do but i would like to visit your uh mount justice. I need to drop this little guy off"he said as clawing for freedom was a ghost who barked and yipped right now. As diana approached it for a moment
"Why don't you let him out? It would be better for someone to stretch their legs"She said as he undid the cage as a ghost leaped out clawing and panting, reaching for pets. As Diana easily bent down picking him up, petting the small husky coat.
As Clark laughed"the mighty princess Themyscira is petting a small dog. Her new weakness"he joked
"Your weakness clark is a piece of green rock"nico reminded
J'onn got close to the strange creature as the ghost stared at him panting and whining before he licked him in the face. Which made the martian smile slightly as the man gently rubbed its head
"I forgot how earth simplest of creatures can be very kind and small at times"he mentioned
"Yes. but let's head to the base and tell the team the good news."dinah said as they agreed
Mount justice/happy harbor september 7th 6:37pm.
As the hours weighed on for the teens in the cave right now they were enjoying one thing after that pizza they had. Some casually talk right now to get to know each other right now. Delilah learns some interesting facts and bombshells that she figured out thanks to some hints and clues. That bruce wayne was batman which she still didn't believe
"That playboy is the dark knight? I call shenanigans"she said
"No way it's true. The tall dark and brooding guy is a rich millionaire"wally said
"For once i gotta agree with wally. But still today has been nice a day off"Artemis replied
"Do you guys normally not get days off"deliah questioned
"We do. But it rare sometime trouble seems to find us but supply is somewhere brooding like always i think"dick replied
"He is still adjusting like some of us to this team goal. But still it's nice to have another member on the team even if you are untrained. We welcome you with open arms onto the team"kaldur siad making her feel happy to hear right now
As they were silent, Wally messed with his sleeve for a moment before a loud noise started to sound off. As they all walked over with her walking over going wide eyed. As the strange tubes began to glow as suddenly a loud mechanical voice rang out
"Recognized 01 superman, recognized 03 wonder woman, recognized 07 martian manhunter. Recognized 13 black canaries. Recognized 14 nico pierce. Recognized a-02 philip bryce"a mechanical voice said as stepping through it where the others right now
This surprised them a little as m'gann smiled floating in the air before flying down as wally quickly sped down. As the other walked down the stairs like normal people right now
"Uncle j'onn! I take it your here to check on us and…"m'gann paused to see something in her uncle hands that being ghost who was panting and nuzzling in the man arms
M'gann looked intrigued"uncle j'onn what is that?"she asked as delilah looked stunned to see the heroes here but particularly ran over hugging her step father right now
"Dad! Oh thank god someone i know...wait a minute"She said as she realized that was rude as clark chuckled for a moment
"Well it's only been a day and it seems someone misses you Phillip,"clakr said as the man sighed with him hugging his step daughter back. But ghost barked and whined for his owner making little biscuits on j'onn arms
"Awww whos this little guy"wally said tickling his chin as ghost growled nipping his hand as wally yelped holding his finger
Artemis laughed"well someone doesn't like you. Heyya buddy"she said, picking him up as a ghost licked her face as she had met him before.
"I see that you are all here from your meeting but introductions are needed"kaldur said as the superheroes stared at the new recruit to this team as delilah blushed embarrassed right now as she was meeting justice league members trying to not freak out a little right now.
"Well introductions are needed. I am diana also known as wonder woman it's a pleasure to meet a new recruit for the team"diana said politely as delilah shook her hand
"I am j'onn j'onzz you have met my niece. I am a martian like her along with that one of the league main members"j'onn introduced himself
Clark stepped forward offering a hand as the girl shook it as it felt firm in his hand
"A firm grip you got their dear. Let me guess your more of a farmgirl than any dainty girl"clark joked to start some light humor
"I did enroll her into a self defense class every summer but she's still a girl. She hates bugs''phillip joked as his step daughter glared at him for that right now embarrassing her infront of them completely
"Your embarrassing me….if i knew how to control these dumb powers i'd launch you"she threatened as nico laughed walking over eyeing the girl as he cleared his throat
"That's why I'm here, chica. I'm revenant guess who i am"he asked as she shrugged her shoulder as phillip sighed
"This man has agreed to mentor you. He will help you control your powers and figure out how to handle and control them in due time"he said as she was surprised but grabbed the man hand shaking it smiling a little
"Really? Because ummm…i really don't know what my powers are….there so confusing"she said
"Well we could have some friends in star labs analyze some of your blood and see if it's linked to that. Since artemis report stated it changed your blood cells"diana mentioned as deliah eyed artemis who waved to her
Clark had one thing in mind"oh before we leave for the time being. Question what will your codename be for mission prep"he asked as she paused for a moment
"Ummm well i um…uh.."she couldn't form words as artemis helped her out
"She picked one at gotham for her hero name or whatever. Wraith if i recall"artemis said making delilah flustered as wally laughed a little
"Kinda boring don't you think"he said making her growl as she stomped her foot pointing at him
"Shut up! Yours is just a kid flash, you're pretty much a junior!''she shouted but her hand glowed in the blue haze. Before suddenly firing off an energy blast from her hands almost hitting wally who used his speed to dodge it. But they followed the source to see a small dent in a nearby rocky wall as it was smoking
They all stared at it for a long moment as nico hummed studying her for a bit
"I got a idea what your power are connected to maybe…but i'm calling it a day i'm tired."he said as they did with her embarrassed that was her first impression right now
As the hours dragged on soon enough Delilah returned to her own room. With her unpacking a few things such as a dog bed for ghosts with some of his chew toys. But she placed it on the bed with him sleeping by her feet. With her hoping that she can get a hang of this new life of hers right now. Praying that it'll get easier and hopes she can see her friends at some point.
But she is a little excited for her new life as a superhero.
It seems that deliah is getting a mentor known as revanant for her supehero career. He is my own design and idea for the league as I have a few ideas for heros and plans to use ones from the comics. Along with a few who where on the team in the comics but no spoilers. Thanks for reading!
