Hi Readers: I hope you enjoyed this little time with the Dawsons over Thanksgiving this year; however, I have a new plotline that I wish to follow for you guys. Unfortunately, this means that we are going to have to end our time with the Dawsons. But that doesn't mean that we're going to be done with our chapters for today. Rather, it's just the start of our chapters for today. Today, we're going to now concentrate on our favorite couple after they got home from her family home.

Chapter Fifty-Three
Thanksgiving Night Alone – Part One

Casey Home – Thanksgiving Night (6 pm)
Gabby was exhausted. She was both physically, and emotionally exhausted after everything that's gone on today. Their time at the firehouse, their time at her mom's place, all the news they got about their friends; it was all just too much. And that was why she was currently standing with her husband in the kitchen, holding him close to her as they both wrapped their arms around each other. They needed it, they just needed to hold each other right now. Gabby, so that she could get comfortable and control of these powerful emotions that she was dealing with; and Matt, because he was quite concerned for his wife (whom he doesn't believe he's seen cry this much in a long time). She was emotionally drained, and Matt hated that was how she was feeling at the moment. She didn't need this while she was pregnant, but it was still happening; and it was all due to the fact that they had so many unknowns in their life right now. And it didn't help that Matt was worried.

Matt was worried for both his wife, and worried for his best friend (whose father is in critical condition). He doesn't know what's going to happen, and it's just all a lot to handle today. They made so many decisions today, and it was all so fast. But that didn't mean that Matt regretted any of the decisions that the couple made. Rather, it was the complete opposite. Matt was glad that they made those decisions, as he wanted to be here to raise his and Gabby's kids with her; that was the reason why he left the firehouse. Whether he leaves the fire department altogether, that was still up for debate (and up to them if they want to give him a job offer). But he knew one thing right now, that he was in no place to take a job offer; not when his wife is (obviously) not okay. Not when he doesn't know whether his friend's father is going to be okay, the man whom he considered a second father since his biological father was murdered (at the hands of his mother nonetheless).

This was truly a hard time for the couple, and they both already knew it. They knew that this was going to be hard on the both of them, and that they just needed to take time alone right now. They needed to take a breather, and they need to concentrate on each other right now. And that's why they're here; it's why they're home, holding each other close in the kitchen. He's doing it so that he can make sure that his wife is okay at the end of the day, because that's what matters; not the fact that the woman he loves is currently staining his shirt with some tears, the tears that were only coming out of her eyes because she needed to be held by her husband at the moment. And she was really happy that he was doing just that for her right now, that he was holding her in their kitchen as he tried to make her feel better; especially when there's a lot on his mind too. Putting his hand on the side of his wife's face, Matt stroked her cheek and took a breath as he held her.

"Do you want to go to bed baby? We can go lay down there, and we can hold each other close baby. I know that you just want to hold me, but you need to lay down before you pass out. I can see you need this baby, and I need it too. I promise, if you just want to go lay down in bed; then we can." Gabby took a breath as she looked up at her husband when he told her that. "I just feel like such a…I don't feel right doing this to you." Matt was confused when he heard Gabby say that. "Hey, what's wrong baby?" Gabby took a breath. "Why am I the one that's crying Matt? It's your best friend, it's not…" Matt sighed when Gabby said that, proceeding to pick her up in his arms and setting her down in the counter of their kitchen. Stepping close to the woman he loves, Matt smirked as he looked up into her eyes. "Hey, take a breath and just look at me baby." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her to take a breath, well aware that it's exactly what she needs to do.

She needs to breathe, she needs to take it easy; and she needs to worry about their children. "I know, I need to think of the twins." Matt shook his head when Gabby mentioned their children. "Hey, that's not even what I'm thinking about right now. Right now, you have a lot on your mind; I can see it. The truth is, I think you have been dealing with a lot more than you have been telling me. You have been dealing with a lot today, and I am really starting to get concerned for you Gabby. Gabby, I can see it in your eyes right now. Something's wrong. Something is really wrong right now. And I'm starting to get very worried about you baby. And I want you to talk to me about what's wrong. Ignore the fact that you feel guilty for being the one who's currently crying. Just talk to me baby." Gabby took a breath and just looked at her husband. "Can we go sit in the living room to talk? I think….or can we just go to bed. Matt, I don't know what I need. I just have a lot on my mind." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, clearly able to see that she has a lot on her mind; more than any future mom should ever have to deal with when it comes to the emotions that she's feeling right now. "I know you are baby."

Gabby took a breath and just sighed, looking at Matt. "I can't help it, it's just…" Matt just looked at his wife, ready to say the exact thing that's on both of their minds at the moment. "We made a mistake going to your mom's place today." Gabby took a breath when she heard Matt say that, hating that it was the truth. She hates the fact that she has to agree with him, because she wanted to go be with her mom today since it was thanksgiving; Thanksgiving is a time for family, and that was where she wanted to be today. She wanted to be with her family on her last Thanksgiving before she becomes a mother. But she just wasn't in it today, because she had a lot on her mind; mostly the fact that Benny reminds her of the mans he loves, and how it was just too much for her. "God, I hate this. I hate feeling this way, like I can't control my emotions." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, well aware that was the case. "And I get that baby, but it's for a good reason."

Gabby laughed a bit when she heard Matt say that, well aware of the fact that it's for a good reason; that reason being due to the fact that she's currently pregnant with their child. Just taking a breath, Gabby looked at Matt. "Matt, can you promise me that tonight…we can talk? I know we're home early, and you probably want to…" Matt got close to Gabby when she said that, tugging his beautiful wife's body against his chest before leaning in and kissing her softly. "I have no expectations for tonight. I have no cravings, other than my wife feeling better. That's all I have on my mind right now, I want you to feel better; and I want you to feel like yourself baby. I know you need to talk to me more than you need sex." Gabby laughed when Matt told her that, because that was the truth. She needed to talk to him today, much more than she needed intimate time with the man she loves. "And you're okay with that?" Matt nodded when Gabby asked him if he was okay with it. And the truth was, he's more than okay with it; because he just needs to be with her to be happy tonight.

"That doesn't mean that I don't still want to see you in your lingerie and run my hand all over your body. But we aren't going to rush this. And tomorrow, we aren't going shopping okay baby? I know you want too but…" Gabby took a breath and just nodded, but Matt continued. "…baby, this is your third break down today. This is starting to get scary, and I just want you to rest baby. I want you to take it easy." Matt then decided to bring Gabby down from the counter, wrapping his arms around his beautiful wife in the process; putting her hands on Matt's arms, Gabby smiled as she looked up into his eyes. "Gabby, you have a lot on your mind right now; and you need to talk to me. I want you to talk to me much more than I want sex from you. I promise, I don't want sex right now; I want you to talk to me so that you can feel better. That's all I want babe." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, knowing that everything he's telling her right now is true. He's always genuine with her when he talks about this subject, and she can also see that he's quite worried about her.

"Baby, all I want tonight is to know that you're okay. I need to know that you're okay, because right now you aren't. So, we're going to talk tonight; and you're going to take it easy. I mean it baby." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms around his torso. She then leaned up and kissed her loving husband softly. Bending down at the same time, Matt smiled as he took things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Listen, how about we put the food away? I want to go to bed and just relax for the night. Also, I want you to get me undressed tonight." Matt smirked when he heard Gabby say that, laughing a bit. "Oh, you thought that you were going to be the one getting yourself undressed tonight? Well, you're dreaming if you think that." Gabby laughed, smiling as she heard her husband tell her that. "I swear, this is exactly what we need." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world.

"More specifically, it's what you need right now. You need to just take it easy, and you need to relax in bed with me tonight. And I promise baby, you aren't going to be going without my love and attention tonight. You're going to get me in bed, and you're going to enjoy it." Gabby smirked when her loving husband told her that. "Maybe we can take our bath first?" Matt smiled when he heard Gabby ask him whether they can take a bath first. "I think that's a good plan. We can take a bath, and that will calm you down; it'll make sure that you're nice and relaxed when we get in bed. I think I really like that idea baby." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling because she's really happy that they're currently on the same page with each other. "Then put the food away, and then let's go upstairs to just take it easy." Matt agreed with Gabby, smiling. "We can do sex tomorrow okay?" Gabby looked at Matt. "Really?" Pushing a strand of hair behind his wife's ear, Matt smiled at the woman of his dreams. "Really. It's what you need baby." Gabby was actually a bit shocked.

"And you're sure." Matt nodded when Gabby asked him that, getting close to her once again. Grabbing her hands, he smiled as he went ahead and intertwined their fingers. "I'm positive because I know that you're currently emotionally drained, and you just need to take it easy; we can do it tomorrow as we spend the day in bed together." Gabby agreed with her loving husband when he told her that, smiling as she got close to him and just wrapped her arms around his torso. At the same time, Matt wrapped his arms around his beautiful wife; kissing the top of her head, Matt smiled due to the fact that he's extremely in love with the woman he's so proud to call his wife. "Look up at me baby." Gabby agreed with matt when he said that, proceeding to go just that for the man she loves. Looking down at Gabby, Matt smiled as he bent down and kissed her softly. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt, smirking. "I'll go upstairs." Matt smiled. "I'll be right up to help you get undressed for our bath okay?" Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at him. "Then I'll wait for you to start the bath."

Matt smiled, agreeing with Gabby when she said that; and he didn't just smile at her while she was standing close to him, he decided to continue smiling at her until she was out of his sight, and on her way to their bedroom. Afterwards, Matt turned around to put their leftovers and just let out a sigh. "God, this is going to be a long night."

5 Minutes Later - Primary Suite, Casey Home
Walking into his and Gabby's room shortly after putting their food away in the fridge, Matt smiled when he walked in to the sight of Gabby standing at the end of their bed; and it truly was an amazing sight, as his girl was still wearing the dress that she promised him she'd be wearing. She just needs to take it easy tonight, they need to take it easy tonight after everything that's gone on today. Walking over to his girl this evening, Matt smiled as he got ready to help her get undressed so that they can take it easy with each other. After all, this is exactly what Gabby needs tonight. She just needs to take it easy with him as they hold each other close. With everything that's going on, Matt knows that a nice bath together will do them both some good. And now, time to start the process of getting him and his girl in the bath. Walking over to the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, Matt smiled as he moved his hands to her arms to bring her close to him.

Stepping close to her loving husband as she wrapped her arms around him, Gabby smiled as she stared up into his eyes; at the same time, Matt put his hand on the side of her neck and just smirked dud to the fact that he really has the most beautiful wife in the entire world. He feels so blessed to have Gabby as his wife, and Gabby knows it. She knows that he loves her more than anything, and that's why they're going to take it easy together right now. Stroking his wife's cheek as he stepped close to the woman of his dreams, Matt smiled as he bent down and proceeded to kiss her softly. Smiling, Gabby was really happy over the fact that she and Matt were currently sharing this kiss. "You sure that you want to take a bath tonight baby? It might just be easier to do it in the morning." Gabby leaned back and shook her head. "Matt, I said no sex." Matt sighed. "But you told me you were wearing hot lingerie under here. That means I have to take it off."

Gabby then realized that. "Right." Matt just took a breath. "You know what, you come first. What do you want?" Gabby took a breath and just thought about it, walking away since she was confused. Taking a breath, Matt looked at his wife. "You know what….how about this, you can just put it back on? How does that sound? You can wear it again. I just realized why you want to take a bath. You want to relax. And if you want baby, you can even take the bath alone; I don't need to…" Gabby looked up at Matt when he tried to say that she can take a bath alone. "No, I want to take a bath with you. I want a massage in the bath." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, making his way over to her before sitting down next to her. Grabbing his wife's hand, Matt smiled as he intertwined their fingers and help each other close. "How about you look at me for a second okay baby?" Gabby agreed with her husband, turning her head so that she can look at her husband.

Putting his finger under Gabby's chin, Matt leaned in and proceeded to kiss the woman of his dreams slowly. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling at him. "Gabby, I am so sorry about how you're feeling right now. I hate that you're this stressed, and I hate what effect I might be having on this." Gabby shook her head when Matt said that. "Hey, you aren't contributing to this." Matt nodded. "Okay. Well, uhm, do you want me to run the bath?" Gabby looked at her husband and took a breath. "You aren't sure, are you?" Gabby then took a breath before just starting to cry out of frustration. Seeing Gabby cry, Matt got concerned. "Hey, hey." Matt then proceeded to get up and just looked at his wife. "Here, let's take a bath tomorrow baby. Let's get you undressed. Right now, you aren't in a place where you can take a bath. Let's just hold each other in bed." Gabby agreed with her husband, feeling so embarrassed that she was emotional.

"Matt?" Matt then looked at Gabby. "Yeah baby?" Gabby took a beath. "Can we talk tonight?" Matt nodded. "Of course, baby, of course we can talk. Is that what you need to do tonight?" Gabby shrugged. "I don't know what I need." Matt agreed with her when she said that, clearly able to see that she was just overwhelmed right now. "Baby, we have a lot of time to just relax. We don't need to take a bath right away. How about right now we just get undressed, and we can cuddle in bed? You can hold me in your arms, and I can do the same as we just relax." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, truly falling more in love with her husband each and every day.

Gabby's Thoughts:
The fact that my husband just agreed right away that we should relax in bed, and that we could talk; it was horrible. I hated the fact that I was making him just sit in bed, when I know that he would much rather make love to me; it's not something that I want. Yet, at the same time…I knew that this was what I needed right now. I have so much on my mind, and I just need to cuddle up to my husband. I need to take it easy, and I need to relax with him. Both for myself, and for the sake of the twins. This is just so much to handle…and I feel overwhelmed with everything that's going on right now. Between the pregnancy, us being here, the uncertainty over our job future, money, the babies, our friends; it's just so much and I feel like I'm walking on pins and needles each and every day. I truly have no idea how I really feel, because I have so much on my mind. So, that's why I need to talk to Matt; I know that he can help me figure this all out. He'll always help me figure it out.

Matt's POV:
Getting Gabby to stand up so that I could get her undressed, I took a breath due to the fact that I could just see that she wasn't okay; I could just tell that she had a lot on her mind, and that she needed me right now. I could see that her mind was racing, and I hate the fact that this was happening today. Today, she just needs to take it easy and relax. But right now, that wasn't what was happening right now; rather, she was feeling horrible…and she just had a bunch on her mind. I wish I could just know ahead of time what was going on in that head of hers, especially when she's pregnant with our twins; that's really what's making me worried. And I hate having to ask her all the time if she's okay, but I can't help but want to do that right now. With all the changes that happened today, I can't imagine what's going on in her head right now; I just need her to talk to me, and I need her to confide in me so that I can make her okay. "Gabby?" Gabby just looked at me when I called for her. "Yeah baby?" I looked at her and smiled. "I hope you know that we can always talk, whenever you want."

Gabby agreed with me when I said that, turning around so that I could help her with her dress. Going to grab the zipper, I smiled as I went to just undo it. "I promise baby, no sex tonight. Tonight, we've had such a hard day; that I will be willing to wear sweats if you want." Gabby shook her head when I said that. "No, I want some skin-to-skin contact. I just…I need to have you close to me, and I need to feel safe in your arms." I nodded, agreeing with Gabby once I had her dress undone. Afterwards, I went to turn her around in my arms. "Come here for a second." Stepping close to me, Gabby agreed as she put her hands on my chest. Meanwhile, I put my hands on her hips and leaned in to kiss the woman I love more than anything. "Baby, whatever you need…you're going to get okay? I know that you're going through a lot, and I just want you to relax and take it easy with me. Baby, I want you to talk to me and I want you to hold me close." Gabby agreed with me. "And that's all we're going to do tonight, because we need you to relax for the sake of our beautiful children."

Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling as I told her that. "I love the sound of that baby, thank you so much for doing all this for me." I nodded, agreeing with Gabby when she told me that. "Baby, there's no reason for you to thank me. I love you, and you're my girl; you're going to take it easy, and I am going to make sure that you and our kids will always be okay. That's my job as your husband." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling at me. "How did I get so lucky to have you as my husband?" I laughed when Gabby asked me that, stepping close to her. Afterwards, I put my hands on her neck and leaned in to kiss her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman of my dreams, I smiled due to the fact that I'm glad that we're together. "I love you Gabby, and I promise that I'm here for you. Day or night, I'm here for you." Gabby nodded when I said that. Wrapping her arms around each other, we both held each other close.

Moving my hand to the back of her head, I kiss her forehead softly while we just got ready to relax in bed tonight; which is exactly what we both need right now. She just need to take it easy with each other so that we can relax in bed. This is just what we need to do, and I am so glad that we're going to spend this nice time with each other right now; it's what she needs.
