Wow, here we are at Chapter Sixty. I have never imagined getting this far into my story, but here we are…and I am so glad that we are here now. I hope that you guys have really enjoyed the story so far and continue to enjoy the story for a while. Now, I am not going to waste your time and give you a long message before we get to the chapter; let's just get to it.

Chapter Sixty

Matt was now back in the living room, finding himself sitting on the couch with the woman of his dreams, as she cuddled up to him while eating the grilled cheese that she asked him to make. And let's just say that she was really enjoying the sandwich that her loving husband made for her, especially considering she was not currently just eating at the moment. Rather, she was also enjoying something else that her husband decided to give her as they started their afternoon in the living room today. And just what might that be? Well, it would be a nice shoulder massage as they cuddled up to each other on the couch. God, her husband truly is an amazing man; and Gabby is go glad that this is what they are in the midst of doing right now. She's sitting in his lap while eating her grilled cheese, and Matt is giving her a nice massage; which is something that she needs right now. She needs to enjoy a nice massage as they take it easy with each other today. And while they could've already started their shopping, they decided to wait until after they both had lunch to start shopping.

So, rather than shopping while they are sitting together at the moment; they decided to go ahead and continue with watching the parade that they started watching earlier. And that was great for now, as it was almost done; which was something that Gabby really liked due to the fact that it meant something, it meant that she was getting closer to her opportunity to watch some Hallmark movies. The Christmas movies that have now started since they are past Thanksgiving, movies that she always enjoys watching; especially when she's cuddled up to her loving husband, whether that be in bed or on their couch. So, that's exactly what she plans on doing for a while. She plans on cuddling up to Matt as they just hold each other close on the couch, and they are going to watch the movies that she enjoys more than anything in the entire world. But little did Gabby know, that their plans to watch a movie were going to be interrupted by something else before they got a chance to even start a movie; and that was someone that Matt could never say no to speaking to any day.

Taking her last bite of the grilled cheese that she was eating, Gabby smiled as she went to lean back against Matt's toned chest (which she always loved leaning back again whenever she got a chance to do just that). However, it turns out that she was not going to be able to cuddle up to him like that for long. The reason? Matt's phone just started to ring as they watched the movie together, and it was still in his pocket; so she had to move so that he could answer it, which was not something that she was happy about. Groaning as she heard his phone ring, Gabby looked up at her husband. "You need to answer that, don't you?" Matt sighed. "It might be an update on Benny." Gabby agreed with her husband when he told her that, smiling as she leaned up and kissed him softly; just taking things slow with his wife, Matt smirked due to the fact that he was happy. "Listen, I need to grab it." Gabby nodded. "I'll put this in the kitchen okay?" Matt agreed with his wife.

Getting up from his lap, Gabby smiled as she went to get up before turning around; leaning over her loving husband once again, Gabby smirked as she gave him one last kiss. "Stay right there, I want to cuddle up to you." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as she stood up and then proceeded to walk away to the kitchen. But little did Gabby know, that this call was one that Matt could never not pick up. Going to look at the Caller ID that was on this phone, Matt smirked. "Gabby, we might have to delay our marathon." Gabby was confused when she heard Matt say that, turning around to face her husband. "And why would that be the case?" Matt smirked as he looked up at Gabby. "Because the person who's calling me right now is Heather." Gabby agreed with Matt, laughing. "Answer it then, and I will be right back." Matt smiled, agreeing with Gabby as he went ahead and answered the call that he was going to enjoy with his late friend's widow.

"Well, if this call isn't a welcomed surprise." Heather laughed when she heard Matt tell her that, well aware that he was not expecting her to call her. "Sorry, I meant to call you yesterday to say Thanksgiving; but I realized it was a shift day." Matt was confused when he heard Heather say that, shocked that she still knew their shift schedule. "What? How did you know that it was a shift day." Heather sighed when Matt asked her that. "Because I just saw the twitter post online saying that the Chicago Fire Department is asking for prayers for Retired Chief Benny Severide." Matt sighed when he heard Heather tell him that, knowing exactly what this call was going to be about; it was going to be about how she learned this online rather than by someone calling her. "Matt, how come I am just learning this through Twitter? What's going on with Kelly's dad?" Matt sighed when Heather asked him what happened to Benny. "He had a heart attack yesterday." Heather was shocked when she heard the former Captain say that. "Oh my god. Is he going to be okay?" Matt took a breath, sighing.

"We don't know yet. He's in stable condition right now though, but Kelly's a mess." Heather agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware of the fact that Kelly would be a mess right now. "God, this is horrible. So, is the house going to rally around him? Who's taking care of him right now?" Matt agreed with Heather when she asked him whether the house was going to rally around him, which they are. "Of course, we're going to rally around him Heather. And we're going to make sure that he's okay." Heather agreed with Matt when he told her that. "Well, I hope you make sure that he doesn't work for a while. But I know that he's stubborn, so at least keep an eye on him." Matt sighed when he heard Heather say that, knowing that he has a lot on his mind. "Yeah, there's a lot that you don't know…and that I need to fill you in on. Like the fact that I no longer work at the firehouse." Heather was shocked when she heard Matt say that he doesn't work at the house anymore.

"Sorry, but did you just say that you don't work at the firehouse anymore?"

Matt's POV:
When Heather asked me whether she just heard me say that I no longer work at the firehouse, I took a breath due to the fact that it was the truth. I am not sure what she's going to think, but I hope that she understands why I am doing this. I just want to be safe for the sake of my future kids. "Matt, I think we have a bad connection. I think I just heard you say that you no longer work at the firehouse!" That's when Gabby came back to the living room, proceeding to answer Heather's question for me; this being due to the fact that she knew it would be better if she heard it from someone other than me, which would allow Heather to believe it. "Yeah, you heard that right Heather." Heather agreed with Gabby when she said that. "By the way, I am still not happy that I had to learn from someone other than you guys that you were MARRIED!" Gabby laughed when Heather said that, well aware that somebody other than the two of us told her we were married.

"Yeah, we know Heather. Sorry about that." Gabby then looked at my lap, watching to cuddle up to me as we spoke to Heather together. Moving so that she could cuddle up to me, I smiled as I leaned back against a pillow once again. Afterwards, Gabby sat down in my lap and cuddled up to me while leaning against my chest; wrapping her arms around me, Gabby smiled as she laid her head down on my chest and just cuddled up to me. Afterwards, I went to grab the blankets and tugged them back up on top of the both of us. Smiling as I did that, Gabby just cuddled up to me; meanwhile, I left a kiss on the top of her head. God, this is perfect; and I am so glad that this is how we've decided to spend our day together. I am so comfortable, and this is all I want to do right now. "I can only assume that moaning I hear is someone getting comfortable, and not of a sexual nature." Gabby then went to speak to our friend. "Heather, calm down. And don't say a word."

Gabby then went to remind her of something. "Are the boys around?" Griffin then went to speak up. "Please, don't you dare try and say something about what my parents did at the firehouse Gabby; I am not interested in that." I laughed when I heard Griffin say that. "Trust me, I will spare you the details Griffin. How are you bud?" Griffin laughed when I asked him that. "I'm great, glad that we're talking. And I'm glad that you're going to FINALLY be a dad, since you were a great foster dad when you were taking care of us." Gabby nodded, looking up at me when Griffin said that. "Oh, I can definitely agree with you when you say that Griffin; and I can also say that since I also saw him when we were taking care of another kid." I smiled when I heard Gabby say that, running my hand up and down her back before kissing her forehead softly. I then went ahead and whispered to her. "I hope that you're comfortable once again." Gabby agreed with me, smiling as I said that.

"I am baby." I nodded, kissing her forehead softly. "So, how are things where you guys are? Where are you guys now?" Heather laughed. "We're in Portland, Oregon now." Gabby agreed with Heather when she said that. "Well then, you'll be expecting a visit from us in the future; we'll have to bring the kids over there so that you can meet them." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, looking down at the woman I love. "Or they can come here and meet the babies, as I am not sure how comfortable I am going to be travelling all the way to Portland." Gabby thought about it, agreeing with me. "Right, that makes sense." I nodded, proceeding to run my fingers through her hair before kissing her forehead softly. Afterwards, I felt Gabby lay her head down on my chest some more. Wrapping my arm around her back, I smirked as I am very comfortable with my beautiful wife in my arms at the moment. There will never be a time where I am not this comfortable right now.

There's just something about the way that we hold each other close, that makes me very comfortable; and very happy to be holding the woman I love more than anything in the entire world in my arms each and every day. She is the most beautiful woman in the entire world, and I am very proud to call her my wife. "So, if you quit the Fire Department…what are you planning on doing for a job Matt?" Griffin was a bit shocked when he heard that I quit the CFD. "Sorry, but did I just hear that you quit the CFD?" I sighed when I heard Griffin ask me that. "Yeah, I did. There's been a lot going on here Griffin, some of the stuff that you don't need to know about." Griffin agreed with me when I told him that, deciding not to press the questions that he has for me any further than he's already pressed me on those questions. "Of course, Captain. I still can't believe that you're a Captain now!" I agreed with Griffin when he said that, smiling. "Yeah, it's nice being a Captain." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling as she looked up at me. "And it's a turn on." I smirked when I heard Gabby say that.

Heather then went to speak to the both of us, trying to remind us that we have boys in the room. "Okay Gabby, I get that you're hormonal; and I get that you want your husband, but can we please remember that Ben and Griffin are on the call with us right now? I am sure that they would really appreciate that right now." Ben agreed with his mom when he said that. "Oh, I agree with my mom when she said that; because I am not that interested in listening to my godfather or his wife moan while we're on the phone with him. That reminds me mom, who's our godmother again?" Heather laughed. "It's my good friend. Your dad got to pick your godfather, I got to pick your godmother." I then looked down at Gabby when she said that. "We could always do that." Gabby shook her head. "My brother will still be one of the godfathers, you are not getting out of that Matthew; so please do not keep trying to say that." I agreed with Gabby when she said that, cuddling up to me as she laid down on my chest and wrapped her arms around me. Afterwards, I kissed her forehead and smiled at my girl.

Afterwards, I looked down at Gabby and just smirked; bending down, I proceeded to kiss her softly before taking things nice and slow with the woman of my dreams. God, she is just so damn sexy; and I am so glad that this is what we're in the midst of doing right now. Afterwards, I whispered to Gabby. "God, I hate that we agreed that we are going to stay calm today rather than be a bit intimate with each other." Gabby smirked when I told her that, nodding. "We'll talk after." I agreed with Gabby, kissing her forehead softly as I went back to my conversation with the Darden family; meanwhile, Gabby spaced out.

Gabby's POV:
As Matt spoke to the Dardens today, I couldn't help but think about what Matt said; how he is starting to get hormonal, and how he wants to touch me. And I can't help but wonder whether that's what we should really be doing. I am so hormonal, and him wearing this sweater is not making it easy right now. Sure, we already had sex…but I know that we could definitely lay down in bed and not have sex if I was wearing sexy lingerie; lingerie that was hard to take off for my husband. And I truly think that's what I want to do. I want to cuddle up to my man in bed and cuddle up to him, with him just wearing his boxers. So, that's definitely something that I want to do. That's when I decided to slip up Matt's chest and proceeded to whisper to him. "I think I can get on board with that, even though it's not what we planned to do. Just no more sex. I'll be in our bed when you're done with your call." Matt turned to look at me when I said that, smirking as he kissed me.

Getting up off the couch where we just were, I smiled as I went to walk away so that I could go get comfortable in bed in my lingerie; which was something that Matt definitely wanted.
