Blaise and Harry settled back into their seat, mentally preparing for whatever the next video could bring. At this point, they thought they had seen everything.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Ohh, I do I do I do! I dooo! Hey!
"Oh my merlin," Cedric buried his blushing face in his hand, "Please no." "Oooooh, look's like someone's got a crush," Cho said teasingly, elbowing Cedric. Cedric just curled up on himself more, mortified that everyone was about to see him gush over someone- it didn't even matter who, just the fact that his parents were about to see this was embarrassing enough.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Ohh, I do I do I do I dooo!
"Oh my gods, Ced, 5 hours?" Cho liked to tease her friend whenever she got the chance, and this was perhaps the best chance she'd gotten in a while. Most people saw Cedric and assumed he was confident, with how popular he was, but that wasn't true. Cedric was actually one of the most shy, private people Cho had ever met. Not to say that was a bad thing, it just wasn't what people expected from someone like Cedric.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Boy, you got me-
Cedric Diggory and Women Others (Eliza Schuyler and Female Ensemble): -Helpless!
Ron burst out laughing, "Mate-" he couldn't stop, "What's with that face?" Harry blushed, "I don't know, I don't know what the other me is doing," Harry mumbled embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Cho and some other people in the room connected the dots. Along with what Cedric had said in the opening video, as well as now, it was pretty clear that the person Cedric was crushing on was Harry.
Cedric Diggory and Women Others (Eliza Schuyler and Female Ensemble): Look into your eyes, and the sky's the limit I'm helpless! Down for the count, and I'm drownin' in 'em.
"It's actually pretty cute," Blaise spoke up, "The crush other-Cedric has on you." Harry was surprised, he didn't expect Blaise to be so chill about someone else liking him. "Really? You're not jealous? At all?" Blaise shrugged and shook his head, "Why should I be? When I know that I've already got you all to myself." Harry and Blaise smiled at each other before refocusing on the screen.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): I have never been the type to try and grab the spotlight.
"Uh-huh, of course, he isn't," someone said in the audience, their tone giving away their annoyance.
Hannah glared into the audience, she and Cedric may not have been the closest friends, but there's no way she's going to let someone be rude to a fellow Hufflepuff, especially one that doesn't deserve it.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): We were at a revel with some rebels on a hot night.
"Ginny, look at you, you're so thirsty!" Ron said laughing, pointing to the on-screen Ginny where she was fanning herself while looking at all the hot guys around her. Ginny slapped Ron on the shoulder, "Shut up, Ron, I never mentioned it when you told me you liked-" Ron slapped his hand over his sister's mouth, both siblings blushing as bright as their hair.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Laughin' at my brother as he's dazzling the room, then you walked in and my heart went "Boom!"
Hermione cooed, "Okay, but that's actually so cute though." Cedric blushed, he could only hope that his on-screen version didn't embarrass him even more.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Tryin' to catch your eye from the side of the ballroom, everybody's dancin' and the band's top volume.
Cedric Diggory and Women Others (Eliza Schuyler and Female Ensemble): Grind to the rhythm as we wine and dine.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Grab my brother, and whisper, "Yo, this one's mine."
"Is it just me or did Draco look kind of… off when Cedric told him that?" Pansy asked their other Slytherin friends, managing to whisper low enough so that Draco didn't overhear them. Blaise nodded, "But it's Draco, so you never really know," he shrugged.
Women Others (Female Ensemble): Oooh!
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): My brother made his way across the room to you, and I got nervous, thinking "What's he gonna do?"
Amos leaned over towards his son, "So do you have a crush on anyone?" "Dad! Not right now," Cedric whisper-shouted. He really just wanted this to be over with.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): He grabbed you by the arm, I'm thinkin' "I'm through." Then you look back at me and suddenly I'm helpless!
"Look at him! Harry's so obviously smitten with you," Dean smirked, "But- I'm sorry Harry- I just don't like Harry that way. At least not in this universe." Ginny was trying to be polite, but it was so embarrassing to see her blushing so much, just because Harry looked at her.
Yes, she used to do that, but she'd grown out of it. Plus, it was always more of a celebrity crush than anything.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Oh, look at those eyes!
Women Others (Female Ensemble): Look into your eyes, and the sky's the limit!
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Oh! I'm yeah, I'm helpless! I know…
Women Others (Female Ensemble): Down for the count, and I'm drownin' in 'em, I'm helpless!
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): I'm so into you, I am so into you! I know I'm down for the count, and I'm drownin' in 'em.
"Go get your man," Ginny's friends cheered. "He's not even mine…" Ginny mumbled.
Blaise was starting to realize just how many people liked his boyfriend, it was a surprisingly large amount.
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): Where are you taking me?
Draco Malfoy (Angelica Schuyler): I'm about to change your life.
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): Then, by all means, lead the way.
'Oh no, I can just see where all of this is going to go wrong…' Remus sighed, he thought he had lived through his fair share of relationship problems by now, he was able to see a lot by sharing a dorm with James, but it seems Harry is also bound to be like his father. At least, in some ways.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Cedric Diggory. It's a pleasure to meet you.
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): Diggory?
Draco Malfoy (Angelica Schuyler): My brother.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Thank you for all your service.
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): If it takes fighting a war for us to meet, it will have been worth it.
"Those are some strong words, Harry," Hermione said, frowning. She would hate to see anyone heartbroken, especially Cedric. He was always so kind, he didn't deserve Harry messing with him.
Unless Harry was genuinely interested in Cedric, then this interaction would be sweet, but Hermione had an inkling that something was wrong. Even Draco didn't deserve to have his feelings played with. No matter what happened between Harry and Draco in this universe, it didn't seem like Draco did anything wrong in that universe.
Hermione could only hope that Harry knew what he was doing.
Draco Malfoy (Angelica Schuyler): I'll leave you to it.
"Man, Draco, I should have you be my wingman next time," Oliver Wood laughed, sneaking a glance at Percy. "You certainly helped Cedric."
Draco scoffed, "And why should I help you? Clearly, the only reason I helped Cedric in the other universe was because we are related. Nothing else."
Cedric Diggory and Women Others (Eliza Schuyler and Female Ensemble): One week later!
"Wait, we don't get to see what happened?" Ron asked, "I'm sure the important parts of what happened will be explained later, Mr. Weasley," McGonagall replied.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): I'm writin' a letter nightly. Now my life gets better, every letter that you write me! Laughin' at my brother, cuz he wants to form a harem.
Draco Malfoy (Angelica Schuyler): I'm just sayin', if you really loved me, you would share him.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Ha!
"Or maybe not," Oliver said to himself, there was no way he would share Pe- his crush, especially not with Draco. Not that his crush would want Draco either, but Oliver wouldn't test it.
Cedric Diggory and Women Others (Eliza Schuyler and Female Ensemble): Two weeks later!
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): In the living room stressin', my father's stone-faced while you're asking for his blessin'!
"Blessing?" Amos Diggory almost shouted, "You two only met three weeks ago." Cedric winced, that was quite quick. "If someone asked for my blessing to marry you, Cedric, and you had only known that person for three weeks, I would say no."
Cedric nodded, "I would probably never rush into a relationship that fast, anyway."
Blaise looked to Harry, "It certainly took you a while to ask me out, and even then I did most of the work," Harry blushed, "Yes, well, I was extremely nervous you wouldn't like me back and would just go laugh about it with Draco and Pansy. I didn't know you that well before."
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): I'm dying inside, as you wine and dine. And I'm tryin' not to cry 'cause there's nothing that your mind can't do!
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): My father makes his way across the room to you.
Harry was for some reason nervous, even though it was only his counterpart that was asking for Mr. Diggory's blessing, he could still feel the terror that washed through him when Mr. Diggory stood up.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): I panic for a second, thinking "We're through." But then he shakes your hand and says "Be true." And you turn back to me, smiling, and I'm helpless!
Amos sighed, "Really shouldn't have done that," he whispered. Amos was very protective of his only son, but maybe since in the other universe, Amos had three children, he was not as protective as Cedric.
Women Others (Female Ensemble): Look into your eyes, and the sky's the limit I'm helpless!
Blaise squeezed Harry's hand, "I would never leave you," Harry whispered, squeezing back.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Helpless! Hoo! That boy is mine, that boy is mine!
"Again, Draco doesn't look very happy," Pansy whispered, frowning.
Cedric Diggory (Eliza Schuyler): Helpless! Down for the count and I'm drownin' in em!
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): Cedric, I don't have a dollar to my name-
"Well we all know that isn't true in this universe," Charlie laughed. He wasn't as sensitive to Harry's wealth as Ron was, particularly because Charlie wasn't around Harry as much, but Charlie also didn't get jealous as easily as Ron did.
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): -An acre of land, a troop to command, a dollop of fame. All I have's my honor, a tolerance for pain, a couple of college credits, and my top-notch brain!
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): Insane, your family brings out a different side of me! Ginny confides in me, Draco tried to take a bite of me.
'Another reference to Draco liking Harry…' Hermione didn't like where this was going.
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): No stress, my love for you is never in doubt. We'll get a little place in Harlem and we'll figure it out!
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): I've been livin' without a family since I was a child. My father left, my mother died.
"I still can't believe James would do that to Lily and Harry, in any universe," Sirius scowled, leaning closer to Remus.
Harry Potter (Alexander Hamilton): I grew up buck wild. But I'll never forget my mother's face, that was real, and long as I'm alive, Cedric, swear to God, you'll never feel so…
Women Others (Female Ensemble): Helpless!

"Oh my merlin the wedding already!" "Cedric you look so pretty!" "So does Harry!" Many people in the room were congratulating the on-screen Harry and Cedric, and even though it was slightly awkward, seeing as Harry and Cedric weren't dating in their universe, they still congratulated them too.

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!: Okay, first off, I am so sorry about how inconsistent (or, really, nonexistent) the updates have been lately. I really wanted to be able to update more frequently than I have been, but there's been one thing on my mind that's been holding me back from updating more:
I have been thinking of rewriting this fanfic. When I started this it was sort of just write and see where it goes, but now that more people are reading this and I'm more invested in where I want to take this fic, it seems now is a more appropriate time to rewrite than later.
This rewrite is (hopefully!) going to go pretty quickly, as I am planning on updating more frequently (probably like once every two weeks).
Some questions for you guys about the rewrite:
1. What ship(s) should I use in the rewrite? I was considering just using Blaise/Harry again, but I know it's not the most popular ship, so I wanted to know what you guys thought I should do. Should I keep it the same? I also love Cedric/Harry, so maybe that ship? (You can also suggest background/side pairings that you would like to see in the fic, it doesn't have to be just Harry-related!)
2. What scenes/plots would you like to see (at some point) in this fic? It can be major or minor, but I just want to know what, if any, scenes you really liked or really hated for the rewrite (no offense taken- please be as brutally honest as you want). Do you like particular characters interacting or feel like I missed a scene?
3. I don't know if it's obvious yet, but I planned the chapters out so that every fifth chapter is a "break" for the characters between songs so that they can discuss things. I think it breaks up some scenes' natural progression, so I debated taking out the scheduledness of those chapters and instead just writing those (non-song) chapters when the story calls for it. What do you guys think?
4. Please leave any other suggestions or any questions you may have in the comments, or pm me if you would rather (I'll be sure to check both). I really need your opinions on this, so I'll be posting this author note as its own chapter as well so that even once I start rewriting you guys can still comment/tell me what you think about all of this!
