Chapter Seventy-Nine
The Caseys Celebrate Two Years – Part Four
"What are we doing for Christmas this year?" -Gabriela Casey
The movie was playing, the couple were relaxing in each other's arms as they laid down in bed together, and everything was absolutely perfect as they enjoyed spending time together on their second wedding anniversary. But little did Matt know that this conversation would've taken the turn that it took. The turn that they were currently taking, and that the topic that they are currently talking about would be the topic that they spoke about right now. The truth was, Matt hadn't really thought about Christmas yet; and that was probably due to the fact that it didn't exactly feel like Christmas yet here in Hawaii. Normally, there would be snow on the ground by this time; but that was only while they were living in Chicago. Since they no longer lived in Chicago, there will never be snow here; and that's something else that he needs to think about, as he's going to want to have their kids experience snow sometime in their lives. But that was not the current topic on hand. Rather, the topic was something about the plans that they need to make with each other for the holidays this year.
The holidays that were now only 19 days away, and that they would really need to make a decision about within the next week to 10 days; that way, they can make sure that they get the plane tickets at the right time. But Matt also knew that he and Gabby did need to speak about, since they need to have other conversations with other people about this as well; more specifically, the rest of their family. But first, they need to think about the many factors that need to go into their decision; and more specifically, they need to talk about how he wasn't sure whether he wants to go to the mainland when they also need to worry about something else…and that would be how Gabby is feeling. At the end of the day, they need to worry about the pregnancy more than how they want to be with their family in Chicago over Christmas. So, that's what they're going to talk about right now. They're going to talk about their Christmas plans, and how he thinks that they should be here rather than with their friends and family in Chicago for the sake of their twins; and Gabby's health as well.
Taking a breath, Matt put his hand on her stomach and looked at his beautiful wife so that they could talk about this. "Ok. So, listen, we need to talk about this." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, moving her hand to his; the hand that she clearly felt Matt move to her stomach. And that led to her knowing exactly what they needed to talk about; they needed to talk about the fact that she's pregnant, and that she hasn't been feeling the best right now. So, that's where they're going to start right now. "Listen, I am not going to state the obvious. I'm going to start with the fact that you haven't been feeling the best right now, and that we have been staying in bed a lot more often; not that I'm really complaining as I love spending time in bed with my beautiful wife." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt tell her that, putting her hand on his as they both held each other close. Just stroking her loving husband's hand as they both held each other close in bed. Grabbing it wedding band, Gabby smiled as she twirled it on his finger; but that started to hurt a bit. "Okay, that hurts a bit."
Gabby got worried when she heard Matt say that it hurts a bit. "It hurts you baby? What's wrong?" Matt then went to look at his ring. "Oh, it's just a bit tight." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that the ring that he wears is quite tight on his finger; which is has to be so that he didn't loose it in his glove. "You had it tightened when you almost lost it in your glove once, didn't you?" Matt nodded as Gabby asked him whether he got it resized after almost loosing it in his glove once. He then kissed her forehead, smirking as he looked down at his girl. "I hope that's okay? I didn't wear it for a week this past summer." Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her if it was okay that he didn't wear it for a week, just so that he could get it refitted onto his finger. "Hey, of course it's okay baby. I want you to enjoy wearing your ring, and I want it to be comfortable on your finger." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby tell him that she's okay with him having his ring resized. "I just hope that you don't take it off ever again, especially when you're going to be wanted by crazy women."
Matt smiled when Gabby said that. "You mean people who want to be rich by marriage? Who think that they can get in my pants?" Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, smiling at her husband. "I mean, I don't want to be a jealous woman but…" Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, proceeding to kiss her forehead softly. "Baby, I get it. And I want you to know that I do not plan on being with any other women in my life. You are the only woman who will ever be able to enjoy what creates that bulge you like to stare at whenever I'm surfing on the beach." Gabby smiled when she heard Matt say that, well aware of what he's really trying to say. He's trying to tell her that she's the only woman who will ever be able to make love to him, and enjoy the feeling of him making love to her; which is something that (as much as she hates to say it) she absolutely loves hearing. "Does it make me a bad wife for me to want to hear that?" Matt shook his head, sighing. "I don't want you to ever feel like you can be a bad wife baby. I mean that." Gabby then looked up at Matt this morning.
Taking a breath, Matt rubbed Gabby's arm before bending down and kissing the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Baby, you're the love of my life; and we have been through so much. And I think that we should actually talk about that." Gabby was confused when she heard Matt tell her that. "What do you mean baby? What do you want to talk about?" Matt smiled as he looked at the woman of his dreams, proceeding to intertwine their fingers. "So, I was thinking that me and you could talk about everything that we've gone through over the past couple years; and we can just really think about how much we really have gone through to get here. To get to us celebrating two years of marriage." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, well aware of just what he was thinking about. "You're trying to say that you want us to go over everything that we've had to overcome so that we could get here." Matt agreed with Gabby, smiling at his beautiful wife when she said that. "Yeah, do you want to talk about that? Or is that something you don't like?"
Gabby smiled as she looked up at the man of her dreams. "Baby, I love the idea. I absolutely love the idea that you just proposed. It sounds like perfect, and I want to do it." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, smiling at her. "So, I think we need to talk about this. I swear, we really need to just talk about how long it took for us to get married." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that. "Tell me about it. It took us what? Two and a half years to get married after we got engaged? Wait, are we considering us having been engaged from when you proposed, to when we got married including our breakup? The one where I think I heard that you slept with a chief's ex-wife?" Matt looked at his wife when she said that. "Wait a second, you heard about that?" Gabby nodded when Matt asked her whether she knew about the fact that, when they weren't together, that he slept with a Chief's ex-wife; which was quite true if you forgot.
"Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. Not my best day." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, before smiling as she slipped up his chest and then kissed him softly. Taking things nice and slow with the man of her dreams, Matt smirked due to the fact that they are just holding each other right now. This is absolutely perfect, and there's nothing better than what they are doing right now. Smiling at his gorgeous wife, Matt just smirked due to the fact that this is what we're doing right now. He then kissed her forehead once again, smiling due to the fact that they are both holding each other close at the moment. "I have to say this though. That hospital explosion." Gabby agreed with Matt, well aware of what he was talking about. "That was the day I knew I wanted to be with you, as I was scared that you died." Gabby agreed with Matt, taking a breath as she heard him tell her that. "I need to stay away from parking garages from now on."
Matt just laughed when he heard Gabby say that, because that was the god's honest truth. If there was one place that Gabby really needed to stay away from, then it would definitely be parking garages; the last two that she was near fell on her. "I think the first one fell on top of you…it was when we were doing that marathon right?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her if the first one fell on her while they were doing that marathon. "And the other was the day of your Captain promotion." Matt laughed when he said that. "So, once while we were engaged; and once while we were married. Okay, tell me the truth…while you were in Puerto Rico, did one happen to you while we were separated. Wait, is that what we're considering that time in our life? Or are we going to say that we're still married?" Gabby smiled as she looked up at Matt. "I would rather say that we're still married, because I always had hope that we would make our way back to his."
Matt smiled when he heard Gabby say that, rubbing her arm as they stared into each other's eyes. "God, who could've known that this would've involved a move to Hawaii; and me learning that my dad was wealthy. I mean, this is crazy." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling as she kissed Matt's cheek. "Yet, you're still the man I love more than anything in the entire world. I hope you know that I am very proud of that baby." Matt nodded as he heard Gabby tell him that, smiling as he looked into her eyes. "Gabby, I don't want you to ever think that I'm going to change. I want you to know that I will always be the man that you love, because I want to be that man. I don't want you to think that I am going to change. I don't want to change; I want to be the man you knew in Chicago." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling as she felt him leave a soft kiss on her forehead softly. "And I want to ask you a favor baby." Gabby then looked up.
Looking up at her husband, Gabby was really confused. "And what would that be baby?" Matt smiled at Gabby when she asked him that, ready to ask her what he wants to ask her. "I want you to tell me if you ever feel like I'm not longer the man you married. I want you to keep me in check, and tell me if you think I'm changing; because then, we can make sure that we don't loose each other. That's actually a real fear that I have." Gabby was confused when she heard Matt tell her that. "And what's that fear baby? Tell me what the fear is so that I can help you." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, taking a breath. "I'm scared of becoming a man that you don't recognize, and that you don't love. We already put our marriage at risk once, and we already fixed everything once. We have been through so much to do it, I am just worried as to whether we can really go back and do it again. And that scares the crap out of me, the fear that I don't think I could do it again."
Gabby took a breath when Matt said that, because she didn't want to have to talk about that. The truth was, that wasn't just a fear that Matt had; rather, it was also a fear that she had. "Can I tell you the truth about something baby?" Matt nodded as he heard Gabby ask him whether she can tell him the truth about something. "Of course, you can always tell me the truth Gabby." Gabby took a breath. "I feel the same way, and I do not believe that I could go through the agony of us having to go through all that again." Matt nodded as he heard his wife say that, kissing her forehead softly. "However, there's something that I will tell you though." Gabby looked up at Matt when he said that. "I love you so much, that I will do it if it means that we can stay together; and I will do it so that we can keep our family together. In fact, that's something that I want to promise to you." Gabby looked up at her loving husband when he said that, a bit confused. "Baby, you ok?"
Matt took a breath as he proceeded to grab his wife's hand, intertwining their fingers. "Baby, we both come from broken homes. Your parents are divorced…and my parents, well." Gabby just nodded, clearly able to see that was on his mind right now. "This is a double edge sword for you, isn't it? You hate your dad more than anything in the entire world, but he's the reason that we have this life with each other now." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, proceeding to stroke her hand when he said that. "Yeah, that's the thing that's really bothering me. My dad abused me, and I hated it; yet he's the reason that we've been blessed with the money to do anything we want. I mean, almost 16 million dollars." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, rubbing his chest as she tried to give him comfort. "Baby, you can't concentrate on that. Rather, what you need to concentrate on is just the fact that you've been blessed with this life in the first place."
Matt sighed, agreeing with his beautiful wife when she said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, I know. But it's still something on the back of my mind." Gabby nodded when she heard Matt say that, before feeling him kiss the top of her head. She then whispered to him. "Do you want to do something baby? If you need to take a walk, we can do." Matt looked down at Gabby when she said that. "Baby, you said that you aren't feeling good. I don't want you to have to go out if you aren't feeling good." Gabby just looked up at Matt when he told her that. God, the way this man loves her is incredible; and she knows that she isn't worthy of him. Afterwards, she smiled as she felt Matt bend down and kiss her softly. "You're thinking about how you aren't worthy of me, aren't you?" Gabby laughed. "You can really read me that well?" Matt agreed with his girl when she asked him that, smiling as he could definitely do just that. "It's because I know my girl so much."
Running his hand (and wedding band) up and down her back, Matt just smiled as he turned his head and then left a soft kiss on her forehead. After which, Gabby decided to slip up her loving husband's chest so that she could look into Matt's eyes. Looking down at Matt, Gabby smirked as she bent down and proceeded to kiss him softly. Taking things nice and slow with her husband, Gabby just smiled due to the fact that this is exactly how she wants to spend her day. She wants to kiss the man of her dreams. "God, you are making me want you." Matt nodded as he heard Gabby say that. "Well, I think that means that we need to get out for a bit. I need to make sure that you calm down." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that. "Let me guess, you want to just take a ride in that truck that you just bought for yourself?" Matt smirked when he heard Gabby say that, well aware of what she was talking about. He bought a truck that he loves, and scrapped the old one.
"I mean, you're okay with me having got a new truck right?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her whether she was okay with the fact that he got a new truck, which she will always be. "Hey, of course I am baby. And I'm glad that you got me a Tesla Model X." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling at his beautiful wife. "Hey, if we can give back to the world…that includes in lowering our greenhouse emissions." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, bending down so that he can kiss her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the man of her dreams, Gabby just smirked due to the fact that she is very happy with her beautiful husband. "I can see that you're starting to feel better." Gabby agreed with Matt. "Yeah, I am. However, I am not sure what I want to do. I think I want to stay here." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife when she said that, leaning her forehead against the woman of his dreams once again as he kissed her forehead softly.
Matt then smiled when he felt Gabby lay down on his chest, before moving his hand to his hand to her back. Wrapping her arms around Matt, Gabby smirked as she laid her head down on his chest and just got nice and comfortable with her dreamy husband. "I love you Matt." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, turning his attention back to the TV which is still on the Hallmark Channel. "I love you too, and I just hope that I can find something to get you for Christmas." Gabby laughed when she heard Matt say that. "God, that has to be something hard. I mean, our anniversary and Christmas are both in the same month." Matt agreed with his girl when she said that, proceeding to kiss her forehead softly. "You know, we could always celebrate our anniversary in June; and we can celebrate Christmas in December." Gabby looked up at her husband when he said that. "Not happening. I want to celebrate on our actual anniversary." Matt agreed with Gabby.
He then bent down and proceeded to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, his beautiful wife Gabriela Marie Casey. "So, are we just going to take it easy for the rest of the day?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her that. "And I am going to stay here in my lingerie, unless you want to get dressed." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby ask him whether he wanted to get dressed. "Oh, I am not getting dressed when I know that you want me to stay shirtless. I mean, you are very hormonal right now; aren't you?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her that. "Maybe I can convince you to hover over me, and kiss me softly?" Matt smirked when Gabby asked her that. "Or we can go take one of those nice baths that you wanted to take a some point today." Gabby smiled when Matt asked her that. "Can you go run it for me?" Matt nodded, bending down to kiss the woman of his dreams softly. "See you soon." Gabby agreed, smiling. Matt then proceeded to slip out of their bed so that they can go take out of bed this morning.
Matt's POV:
As I finished climbing out of bed this morning, I smirked as I proceeded to grab my towel from the hook that I have next to my bed before turning around to look at my beautiful wife. Just staring at her, I couldn't help but smirk due to the fact that I'm so happy over the fact that I love her so much. "I'm so glad that we're going to do this. The truth was, I have been wanting to get you in the bath for a while now." Gabby agreed with me as I told her that, smiling as she loved the sound of that. "Oh, I absolutely love the sound of that." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, smirking due to the fact that this was perfect. Afterwards, I proceeded to bend down and took off my boxers in front of Gabby. Staring at me as I did that, Gabby just smirked as she is very happy right now. "I swear, I am a very lucky woman to have a man like you as my husband." I smiled when I heard Gabby tell me that, proceeding to make my way over the hamper to put my boxers down.
Afterwards, I proceeded to walk around me and Gabby's bed so that I could give Gabby a quick kiss. Looking at my girl, I smiled as I bent down and proceeded to move my hands to her neck. Bending down, I smirked due to the fact that I am madly in love with the woman of my dreams. Smiling as she put her hand on my face, Gabby smiled as she took things nice and slow with me. "I love you." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that. "And I love you too, and I am so glad that we are celebrating two years of marriage; which is something that I never really expected to happen." I smiled, agreeing with Gabby when she told me that; pushing a strand of hair behind her ear, I smiled at my beautiful wife. "Baby, you never have to worry about that because we're forever." Gabby nodded, smiling at the woman of my dreams. After which, she put her hand on my face before kissing me one last time. "Listen, go start the bath okay? I want to take one." I agreed with Gabby.
"Let me just go get something quick." Gabby was confused when I said that. "What are you talking about?" I smirked when Gabby asked me that, proceeding to make my way over to the bathroom. "Be right back." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, smiling as I walked into the bathroom so that I could get Gabby's next anniversary gift. Going to grab it, I just smiled due to the fact that I am very much ready to give them to her. "So listen, I am just going to say this; this is your choice at the end of the day." Gabby agreed with me when I said that, moving to sit up. Afterwards, I went to grab her second gift. Coming into the bedroom once again, I smiled as I went ahead to give Gabby her next gift. "Here we go with your next gift." Gabby looked at me when I said that. "Already?" I nodded, smiling at my girl when she asked me that, proceeding to sit down on the edge of our bed with her. Sitting up too, Gabby smiled as she grabbed my gift.
She then went ahead and opened it to see it was exactly what she wanted, some bath bombs. "Let me guess, you want me to pick the one that I want you to put in the bath right now?" I nodded, agreeing with Gabby when she asked me whether I wanted her to pick the bath bomb that I wanted to put in the bath; after which, Gabby went ahead and looked at them all. Smiling as she went to grab it, she just looked at one that was lavender. "I think I would like to try a lavender one." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, smiling at her. "Well, I am glad that this is what we're going to do. You need to rest and just take it easy after all." Gabby agreed with me when I told her that, smiling as she proceeded to grab my hand. "I swear, I have the best husband in the entire world." I smirked, bending down to kiss the woman of my dreams. Taking things nice and slow with the woman of my dreams, I smiled as I looked at Gabby. "I love you so much." Gabby smiled and agreed.
Putting her hand on my face, Gabby smiled as she both took things nice and slow with each other. "I love you." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, smiling as I went to grab her hand. "Listen, I am going to go run us that bath. Come see me soon?" Gabby agreed with me, smiling as she gave me one last kiss. Afterwards, I got up and proceeded to walk away so that I could go run us a bath this morning; a bath that we are both going to enjoy together.
Gabby's Thoughts:
As I watched Matt walk away to go run us a bath, I smiled due to the fact that this truly is my perfect day. I am so glad that this is what we're doing right now, and I am just so glad that I have such an amazing man as my husband; he is so loving, so caring…and there's nothing better than the idea of the two of us to just take a nice bath together. I just know that we're going to enjoy this, and I also know that Matt is going to be such a great dad. Our second anniversary has been incredible so far, and I am definitely ready to just hold my man close to me as we take a bath together. It'll be absolutely perfect.
