Hello Readers:
What did you guys think of Kelly and Stella's arrival at Casa Casey today? Well, I hope you liked it. Sorry by the way for the low updates again. I ended up re-writing one chapter to make it more readable, and then I wrote a really long chapter eighty-three. So, that's why you're going to have a low update date. I hope that you guys are okay with that because that means that you guys are going to have longer chapters rather than short ones. Now, let's get back to it. Here's eighty-four.
Chapter Eighty-Four
Girl, It Wasn't Yesterday
Making his way back downstairs shortly after bringing Kelly and Stella's bags up to their room, Matt smiled as he prepared to walk into his and Gabby's living room this morning with the hopes of seeing both his wife and her best friend deep in conversation. But that wasn't what he saw. Rather, he saw his wife alone in the living room all cuddled up to the couch seemingly tired; and that worried him, as he thought that this might be too much for her already. I mean, of course he wants their best friends to be here with them; there's nowhere he'd rather they be. But that doesn't mean that he's going to subject his wife to more than she can take. And right now, it looks like she's already doing that as she looks tired. Taking a breath, Matt proceeded to make his way into the living room so that he could talk to his wife this morning and see whether she was doing okay at this morning. "Hey." Turning her head to look at her husband, Gabby smiled at the sight of him. "You get their bags up to their room?" Matt agreed with his wife, smiling as he just made his way over to her today.
While he was trying to put on a brave face for her, Matt was really a bit worried for his wife; and Gabby knew it, because they've both gotten really good at reading each other throughout the pregnancy. "What's bothering you Matt?" Matt took a breath when he heard Gabby ask him that, before moving to sit down next to her and moving his hand to her stomach. "I'm just wondering where Stella is and why she isn't here right now." Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her that, having felt that was what he was worried about. He's so easy to read, and she just loves that part of him. Another thing that she loves? Just how much he truly cares for her. If he has to choose between her and his best friend, he always ends up choosing her. But that's not something that Gabby should be surprised about, as she's his wife; and he loves her more than anything in the entire world. If anything, she should want him to choose her first as they are husband and wife; they always put each other first, along with their marriage. Just taking a breath, Matt looked at his girl this morning to talk to her.
"What's wrong baby? Why do you look so tired right now?" Gabby took a breath when Matt asked her why she looks so tired right now, because that's exactly what she was. She was a bit tired, and that's due to the fact that she ended up having a rough night again; which was another thing that Matt already knew…but he didn't want to make her thing that he wasn't going to believe her when she tells him that she's fine. He knows that's what she's going to tell him already, and he doesn't want to make her believe that he isn't going to listen to her. Yet, at the same time; he does have eyes, and he does also have concerns for his wife. And one thing is clear to him right now. If this is too much for his girl, then he doesn't want her to push herself. Rather, he wants her to take it easy and just relax for the sake of their children; the children that they both want more than anything in the entire world. That's their priority. And that's something that the couple both know at the end of the day, that their children need to be their priority when they are trying to take it easy both together and alone.
"I thought you and Kelly were going to the beach today?" Matt smiled when Gabby asked him that. "Kelly's taking a nap because he stayed up most of the flight, so that means Stella is stuck here for a bit. Now, I was going to get groceries…but I only want to do it if you're okay." That's when Matt heard Stella come into the living room, carrying some eggs for her best friend. "Your mom is going to keep making her entire breakfast, but she just whipped up some eggs quickly. She was already making an egg casserole I guess?" Gabby smiled when she heard Stella say that, loving her mom's egg casserole. However, hearing that made Matt more concerned rather than okay. Instead, he was worried as Camila should know that taking an hour to make breakfast isn't okay. Gabby needs to have food quickly now, especially when she's tired. Putting his hand on the top of his wife's head, Matt proceeded to kiss her forehead softly. "If you want to go lay down in bed, then you can go do that baby. I promise that I will bring breakfast up to you." Gabby smiled as she looked at Matt this morning.
Seeing the worry in his eyes, she went ahead and grabbed his hand as she wanted him to relax a bit. However, she also knew that her husband could never really relax when she wasn't rested; that's always been a worry of his, especially since they moved here to Hawaii. He then went ahead and kissed her forehead once again. "Listen, you and Stella are just going to do some shopping anyways. Why not get started? And if you need to take a nap, you're already in bed. Baby, this is what you need to do." Gabby took a breath when Matt told her that, well aware that it was the truth. She knew that she needed to relax right now, and she was glad that Matt was pointing that out to her. "Listen, how about you and Stella go to bed and just take it easy? Or if Stella wants to join Kelly in taking a nap, I can come spend some time with you before I go out to get groceries. That's what I was going to do since Kelly is resting." Gabby looked at her husband when he told her that.
"I thought you were going to the beach?" Matt shook his head. "Not if Kelly isn't coming with me. I am only going to the beach if Kelly is joining me." Gabby agreed with her loving husband when he told her that, smiling as she went ahead and grabbed his hand. Intertwining their fingers, Matt smirked as he leaned in and kissed her softly. Just taking things nice and slow with her loving husband, Gabby smirked due to the fact that she really loves kissing the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. There's just something about the way that he kisses her that makes her really happy, and she's so happy that he's her husband. "Sorry about that Stella." Stella shook her head when Matt and Gabby apologized for sharing a kiss in front of her, which is something that neither of them should have to do. If they want to share a kiss with each other, then that's exactly what the couple should feel free to do. "Hey, don't you guys apologize for sharing a kiss in front of me. I think it's quite adorable how you guys are good with sharing PDA so easily in front of people."
Matt smiled when Stella said that, turning to look at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. He then proceeded to kiss her forehead and just smiled at her. "Listen, you need to take it easy and just relax. Can you promise me that you're going to do that for me today baby?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her whether she can promise him to just take it easy and relax today. "Of course, I can do that baby. I promise to take it easy and just relax with Stella while we use your debit or credit card to do some shopping." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she loved that idea. "I love that idea. Wait, what are you going to do then? My mom already has to go to the groceries, so don't bother." Matt smiled. "I have other things to do in my office." Gabby was confused. "Legal things." Gabby then realized that. "Right, you want to do that thing." Stella just looked at the couple, both unaware of what exactly they're talking about. "Okay, what exactly are you guys talking about?" Matt smiled when Stella asked the both of them that question.
"Do you want to tell her?" Gabby agreed with her husband when he asked her whether she wanted to tell her best friend. "Yes, I would like to tell my best friend if that's okay." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as that was exactly the right thing to do. "I promise, you can tell Stella and I will tell Kelly when he's awake. You still want me to bring breakfast to you upstairs?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her that, smiling as she got up with his help. Afterwards, Matt grabbed her hand and smiled at her. "Let's get you upstairs then so that you can relax, and talk to Stella." Gabby agreed with her man when he told her that, smiling as she and Matt lead Stella upstairs to their room so that they can spend some time in their comfortable bed and talk; talk about what they have plans on doing with some of the money that they recently got to start this new life that they are already enjoying with each other. It's a great life, and they love it.
The bedroom was large and bright as they walked in this morning, it having already been cleaned by the husband to make sure that it didn't look like they just had sex in it recently (which they did). They decided to have a bit of fun yesterday evening as they didn't know just how much intimate time that they were going to be able to spend with each other over Christmas time since they are going to have family and friends here. But it was still incredible, and Gabby is so glad that they got a chance to do it. But now, she was going to spend some time with her best friend as they talk about what they have plans for; and, at the same time, her loving husband was going to work on something that they need to assist in those plans. But first, he was going to make sure that both his beautiful wife and her best friend were all comfortable in bed together. That was the real reason that Matt was up here, and Gabby was really happy that was the case as she really loves Matt.
Climbing into bed with Matt's help, Gabby smiled as she leaned back against her pillow while also looking up at the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. At the same time, he leaned over her and smirked as he proceeded to kiss his wife softly. "You just take it easy okay baby?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that. "I know, I'm carrying precious cargo." Stella then went to make a joke (that wasn't too funny). "Very expensive cargo, that are set to inherit millions." Matt just looked at Stella when she said that, not really liking how she's (again) describing their kids as heirs; after all, that's not how he and Gabby have been thinking about their kids. Rather, they are just their babies that they have wanted more than anything in the entire world. They are both extremely ready to be parents, and Matt can't wait to meet their sons. "Gabby will talk to you about that okay Stella?" Stella just looked at Matt when he said that, knowing he's not too happy.
The reason she knows that? Well, he did use to be her Lieutenant-turned-Captain on Truck 81. She heard the change in the tone that he was using when he just spoke to her. The familiar tone change that only happened when he was not happy with one of the members of his crew. "Of course, Captain." Matt snickered a bit when he heard Stella say that, well aware of what she was trying to tell him. "Sorry I started to talk to you as a Captain again." Stella agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling at him. "I can only assume that it's because you weren't exactly happy?" Matt took a breath as he looked at Gabby, grabbing her hand. "Because we've both agreed that we will never see our children as 'heirs'. They are just our children, and nothing more. We don't want our kids to see themselves as fortunate, because we weren't raised that way. Sure, we have the ability to give them a great life; but that's why we're going to start a business." Gabby was confused.
"I thought you wanted to start a business because you were going to get bored?" Matt smiled. "That, and I want our kids to have jobs where they can learn the worth of a dollar. We came from a poor life, and I am not going to let my kids believe that we came from a rich family. Sure, that's where I come from…but it's not the man you fell in love with after all." Stella smiled when she heard Matt say that, clearly able to see that Matt was really going to stick to his word when he said that; I mean, he does want his kids to know that they didn't come from money. "I can see that you are already thinking ahead." Matt agreed. "Oh, I'm already working ahead too. I am putting money in trust funds and everything. Trust funds that the kids can't touch until they're at least 18 years old if they go to college, 22 years old if they don't go to college." Gabby smiled when she heard Matt say that. "I love that idea baby, makes them want to behave." Matt smirked, agreeing.
"Oh, that's another clause. If you go to jail and I have to bail you out…you have to wait an extra 6 months to get it if you don't go to college." Gabby smiled. "Stella, what did I tell you. Matt is the perfect man. He's the complete package. An amazing lover, with a big heart and a great body; and he's even smarter than any of the guys at the firehouse." Stella laughed when Gabby said that. "God, did I tell you what Tony did last shift?" Gabby shook her head. "No details!" Matt then looked at Gabby. "Listen, I'll be back when the food is ready to bring up to you. Take it easy, and please drink." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she watched him walk away.
Gabby's POV:
Once Matt left to go make me some breakfast, I smiled as I watches as Stella just walked around me and Matt's room; and I had a pretty good idea of what she was thinking about. "You're trying to wrap your head around everything, aren't you?" Stella took a breath when I asked her that, before smiling at me. "Is it that obvious?" I agreed with Stella when she asked me that, smiling at my best friend. "Girl, I'm still me. I haven't changed just because we got money." Stella laughed a bit when I asked her that. "Is it really that obvious that's what's worrying me?" I nodded when Stella asked me that, proceeding to open the blankets to me and Matt's bed so that I can invite my best friend to sit down with me. "Girl, come sit down with me and take a load off. You must be exhausted after having left so early today." Stella groaned when I asked her that. "Tell me about it. But Kelly insisted on leaving early." I agreed with Stella when she asked me that, smiling at her.
"Hey, at least it wasn't in economy." Stella smiled when I said that, climbing into bed with me. "I know, I really love your husband for doing that for us." I agreed with Stella when she said that, smiling at her as she got comfortable in our bed. "God, this is comfortable." I smirked when she said that. "Tell me about it, it's just perfect." Stella nodded, before thinking about something. "Wait, when was the last time…" I just looked at Stella, shaking my girl. "Girl, it wasn't yesterday." Stella was confused when I said that, just getting in bed with me. "What do you mean it wasn't yesterday?"
