Hello Readers: What did you guys think of the dream? Well, I hope you enjoyed it. Now, I want to just let you guys know that I have decided not to cover supper tonight as this day is starting to get long. So, the next couple chapters may be a bit (a) shorter or (b) choppy, as I am trying to finish this day. I hope to try and write to the best quality that I can though, as I do not want to just write the chapters to finish the day and not make them quality chapters; I pride myself on writing quality chapters, and I hope that I can continue to do that for you guys for a long time. Now, let's get to Chapter Ninety-Seven.
Chapter Ninety-Six
Dishes and Goodnights
While Matt was okay with the idea of his mother-in-law making him, Gabby, Kelly and Stella supper this evening; one thing that he was not okay with, was the idea of her doing the dishes as well. She's here to take it easy and relax ahead of Christmas, not do everything that they can do themselves. But there was another reason why he wanted to be in here with Kelly for a moment, away from their partners. He wanted to talk to him about how he's doing, especially after getting this news right after his dad died; which he knows must be hard, and one of the main reasons they are doing the dishes right now. Taking a breath as he did the washing (while Kelly did the drying), Matt took a breath as he went to look at his best friend. "So, is it how I remember feeling in 2015?" Turning his head when he heard his best friend ask him that, Kelly realized what he was trying to tell him. "It's worse of course." Matt took a breath. "As it's right after your dad."
Kelly agreed with Matt when he said that, taking a breath. Meanwhile, Matt put his hand on his best friend's back; rubbing it, he could tell that he needed to just take it easy right now. "I'm sorry that this is what you guys are going through right now man, I really am." Kelly took a breath once again, turning to look at Stella in the living room as he spoke to his best friend. "I just hate what this is doing to Stella." Matt was a bit confused when his best friend told him that. "What's it doing to Stella?" Kelly took a breath when Matt asked him what the miscarriage was doing to Stella. "It's like she's not herself right now, because she has to be so vulnerable with me. She's used to being so strong so…she wants to be sad and grieve, but she also feels like it's wrong to do that, as it means that she's not being strong for me because she wants to help me." Matt took a breath when he heard Kelly say that, well aware that Stella would definitely do something like that for him.
That's when he heard Camila walk up behind the both of them. "Careful boys, I have the crockpot here to wash." Matt smiled when he heard Camila. "Oh, just set it down; and I can wash it for you." Camila looked at me when I said that. "No, you can move to the drying. Gabby told me what's going on with your best friend and his girlfriend. I'm sorry about that by the way Severide, right?" Kelly smiled when he heard Gabby's mom say that. "Thanks Ms. Dawson." Camila smiled. "And I am going to keep calling you that, because you are not my mother-in-law." Camila agreed with Severide when he said that, smiling as she watched him walk away. However, her smile soon turned into a scowl as she looked at her son-in-law. "You should've never asked your friend to do the dishes with you." Camila then went to grab the dish cloth that Matt had in his hands, proceeding to go start washing the crockpot. At the same time, Matt went to grab the drying towel.
"Hey, don't yell at me for doing that." Camila was confused when her son-in-law said that. "What do you mean by that? Last time I checked, you were here as your best friend was drying the dishes." Matt agreed with her when she said that. "Yes, I was. But that doesn't mean that I was the one who asked him to dry the dishes." Finding a place in the water, Camila went to start washing it so that she could give it to Matt. "So, it was his idea to stand there and dry the dishes?" Matt laughed a bit, nodding. "I may have suggested that he do it. But I mean, he's literally just standing here and talking to me. If I was doing that while you were doing the dishes, then you would not be a very happy future grandmother. And I'm sorry, but I would like to have a babysitter on my anniversary next year." Camila looked at Matt when he said that. "Shit, I'm the babysitter." Matt agreed with Camila when she asked him that. "Either that, or we get a nanny." He then heard Gabby.
"Over my dead body Matthew! I am not getting a nanny, just because you don't want my mom to live here with us!" Matt then just looked at his mother-in-law. "The exact response that I expected to get after me even thinking of that." Matt then turned to look at Gabby. "Oh calm down Gabby, I was making a joke. Your mom was just a bit mad that she's now our designated babysitter in the future." Gabby laughed when Matt said that. "Yeah, because my mom would ever be mad when she LOVED babysitting Eva and Diego when they were little. Heck, I barely got a chance to do it; even when I offered to do it, Antonio ended up calling me and saying that mom rearranged her entire schedule to babysit. Sorry mom, but I call BS on that! I know you too well, and I know that you're going to be the first one to volunteer to babysit the twins whenever you get a chance to do so.
Camila then turned to look at her daughter. "First of all, watch your tone with me Gabriela!" Gabby agreed with her mom when she said that. "And you're definitely true when it comes to that." Matt just laughed, shaking his head. "I swear, you guys are so alike." Gabby smiled when she heard Matt say that. "I take that as a compliment. I love being compared to my mother. She's the best." Camila just laughed when she heard Gabby say that. "Oh, now I know that you're just trying to butter me up. You're trying to make sure that you stay in my good graces so that you get a babysitter in December." Matt agreed with Camila when she said that, smirking as that was the dream that he just had. "Yeah, that was definitely something that I like." Turning her head, Camila looked at her son-in-law. "What's got you smirking?" Matt smiled when she asked him that. "I can't share a dream that I had, because it's inappropriate for your ears."
Camila laughed as Matt said that, nodding as she already understood what he was trying to say. This dream that he just had was one that was related to sex, so of course he can't share the dream with her; especially not when he wants to stay in his wife's good graces. God, now she's thinking about the reason why he can't share; and she's also saying to herself (in her mind). "Camila, stop thinking about this before you say this out loud; and get both yourself and Matt in trouble." So, that's exactly what the mom did, she stopped thinking about it and just went back to doing the dishes this evening.
Making his way into the living room shortly after finishing up with the dishes this evening, Matt smiled as he looked at Gabby as she sat on the couch exactly where he plans on sitting with her. And even better, he was glad that Kelly and Stella were still here. That's when he remembered something, that he needs to hug Stella. "Hey Stella?" Stella then looked at Matt, already well aware of what he's going to want to do. Getting up from Kelly, Stella made her way over to Matt so that he could hug her this evening. Smiling, Matt wrapped his arms around his best friend's girlfriend and just made her feel better. "I'm so sorry Stella." Stella agreed with matt as she wrapped her arms around him. "Thanks Matt." Matt agreed with Stella when she said that. "I promise, you can always talk to us; we know what it's like to go through this." Stella agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case. "I hate that it's the truth." Matt nodded, agreeing with her.
"I know, and I really hate that you guys had to experience it. Just know that I will help in whatever way I can." Stella agreed with her future boss when he said that. "Giving me a job would really be helpful." Matt agreed with Stella when she said that, smiling. "Well, that's a great segway into something that we can all talk about tonight." Walking over to Gabby, Matt smiled as he looked at his beautiful wife. "Want to sit down in my lap? Then I can put my hand on your stomach?" Gabby smiled when Matt asked her if he can put his hand on her stomach. "Well, I think that can definitely be arranged." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as that was exactly what he wanted to hear from his wife. Getting up, Gabby then went to yawn, and that made Matt laugh a bit. "Or maybe we should actually go back to bed. You just yawned baby." Gabby then went to hide her mouth. "No, I didn't yawn." Matt smiled at the woman of his dreams when she said that, proceeding to get close to her right now. Afterwards, he proceeded to wrap his arm around her waist.
Moving her arm around his shoulder, Gabby put one of her hands on his back; at the same time, Gabby put her other hand on his chest while cuddling up to him. Pressing his lips to Gabby's forehead, Matt smiled at the woman of his dreams; clearly able to see that she was tired, Matt just smiled at her. "God, I think we've already had a busy day." Gabby looked at Matt when he said that, taking a breath as she proceeded to look at her best friends as she really hated the idea of them not being with them as long as they can. "Gabby, if you're tired…then we want you to go relax in bed with Matt. Me and Kelly don't want you to stay up longer than you have to. And we both mean that." Kelly agreed with Stella when she said that, smiling at his best friend and his wife. "I mean that too Gabby. Gabby, you need to rest for those boys of yours." Gabby turned to look at her husband then he said that. "Which one?" Kelly just laughed when he heard Gabby say that.
Gabby then got close to Matt, and smirked as she leaned in to kiss him softly. Taking things nice and slow with her incredible husband, Gabby smiled as she felt his wedding band on her stomach. "Listen, what do you say we get to bed? You looked tired." Gabby agreed with Matt, nodding. "Thank you." Matt shook his head. "It's okay baby. We can always go to bed and just take it easy. Kelly and Stella understand that we need to take it easy for the sake of our boys, right guys?" Kelly agreed with Matt when he asked them that, speaking for both himself and Stella. "Gabby, if you're tired…then you should go take it easy with Matt." Matt smiled when Stella said that, as he agreed with her completely. Extending his hand for his wife to grab, Matt smiled as he waited for her to do just that. Grabbing Matt's hand, Gabby smiled as she intertwined their fingers. "Tomorrow, I want to talk about that project we're going to do together more Stella. Tomorrow, you're with me."
Stella smiled when Gabby said that. "I'd like it if we all spend time together." Matt smiled. "Good, because I would love some help from my best friend to go through a bunch of documents that I want to show you." Kelly laughed when he heard Matt say that, well aware of what he really means. "You mean you want help doing them." Matt agreed with him. "Same thing." Matt then smiled as he looked at Gabby. "Let's go up to bed my babies." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she prepared to follow her loving husband to bed this evening so that they can relax with each other and just hold each other close right now. After all, it's what they both need to do right now; they just need to take it easy and just relax in their bed. At the same time, Kelly turned to look at Stella while sighing. "Do you want to head to bed too? We can talk about everything." Stella smiled when Kelly asked her that. "I think I'd like that." Getting up, Kelly smiled at Stella.
Putting his hand out for her, he waited for Stella to grab it. Grabbing it, Stella smiled as she got up and then decided to step close to the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. Putting his hands on Stella's hips, Kelly smiled as he leaned in and kissed her softly. Taking things nice and slow with her, Kelly smiled. "We're going to get through this together; I promise Stella." Stella agreed with Kelly when he told her that they're going to get through this together. "But are we though?" Kelly agreed with Stella when she asked him whether they're really going to get through this together. "Let's go to bed, and then we can talk?" Stella agreed with her boyfriend, ready to do just that so that they can talk to each other.
Kelly and Stella's Bedroom, Casey Home, Honolulu
Standing at the end of her and Kelly's bed in some lingerie tonight, Stella smiled as she felt him put his hands on her hips and just held her close to his chest; after which, Stella put her hands on said chest while staring into his eyes. She then went ahead and wrapped her arms around his neck while concentrating entirely on the man she loves more than anything in the entire world, one Kelly Severide. Moving his hands to her back, Kelly smirked as he stepped close to her and then leaned in to kiss her softly. Bringing his girlfriend close to him, Kelly smirked as he looked into her eyes. "I hope you know that you never need to hide things from me Stella. Stella, I'm here for you. And I want you to know that I think that this is forever." Stella agreed with Severide when he told her that, smiling as she felt him rub her back. "Sorry it took me a couple days to tell you that I miscarried." Kelly shook his head as he proceeded to pick her up in his arms.
Carrying her to their bed, Kelly smirked as he started to kiss the woman he loves; at the same time, she put her hands on his face and just kissed him slowly. Wrapping his arms around Stella, Kelly smiled as he proceeded to sit down on the edge before running his hands around Stella's back. "Stella, I love you. This is forever. I am here for you, forever. You have helped me through loosing my dad, and I promise that I'm here for you too. Remember, this was my baby too." Stella agreed with Kelly when he told her that, smiling as she felt him run his hands up the buttons on her shirt; ready to let him take it off, Stella smiled as she watched him undo it before moving her hand to the back of his head as he leaned in and started to kiss her neck. Sucking on his girlfriend's neck, Kelly smirked as he went ahead and took off her shirt which should've been off the moment they walked into their bedroom this evening. Throwing it onto the ground, Kelly smirked as he picked her up.
Carrying her over to her side of the bed, Kelly smirked as he went to open the covers and then laid her down. Smiling as he did that, Stella looked up at the man she loves while he took off his shirt (and shorts) for her. And let's just say that she found that so hot. Climbing into his and Stella's bed, Kelly smirked as he prepared to show his girlfriend just how much he loves her this evening. And, of course, just make her feel better. Make her feel loved, and like she can always rely on him (because she can). She will always be able to rely on him, for the rest of their lives. That's the truth, and he's just hoping that him making love to her will make her understand that's the truth. Plus, he's madly in love with her already…so nothing can ever change that. He's ready to propose any day, and he thinks he may do that someday; but this is not the time to propose, not when they are mourning the loss of their first child…a child that Kelly knew that he really wanted.
