Chapter One Hundred and Three: Ringing in 2019
Part Three: Feeling Horrible in the Screening Room
SCREENING ROOM, CASEY HOME – 7:30 PM
She felt absolutely horrible, but not just when it came to how she feels physically; she was talking emotionally, as this was not what Gabby wanted this evening. This was not the plan that she and her husband had for the evening, nor was it the plan that their friends had. It was embarrassing, and it just felt horrible. The worst part? She ruined her best friend's outfit. She looked so hot this evening, and she thought that she just ruined a great dress; a dress that she knew her friend would like. But unfortunately, it all had to go down the drain. So, here she was sitting in the living room of her and Matt's home in one of Matt's button up shirts, and some of her favorite comfortable shorts. However, she made sure that she was still wearing the lingerie underneath. The reason? She wants to make it up to her husband, as this was going to be his last New Year's Eve out for a while; but she ruined it, and that was the reason why he was unable to find her. That was, until now.
"There you are Gabriela." Turning her head, Gabby thought that Matt was going to be walking in; but rather, it was her mom whom she just heard yell. "Matt! She's in the screening room." Taking a breath, Gabby just sat up some more while looking at her mom. Seeing that her daughter looked down at the moment, Camila Dawson decided to make her way into the room so that she could speak to her daughter. "Gabriela? Are you okay mi amor?" Turning her head, Gabby took a breath as she looked at her mother; trying to hide the tears that she had in her eyes at the moment, the tears that we coming out both because of her hormones…and because of the mess that she just created for both her husband, and for her best friend. She just hates what she did, and she can't believe that it even happened. She feels horrible, and hasn't been able to forgive herself yet; so, she has no idea how she's going to get her best friend to forgive her for what she's done.
Just walking in this evening, Gabby's mom made her way over to her so that she could speak to her; as it was clear to her that she was not okay at the moment. I mean, would you be okay if you threw up all over your best friend's outfit? An outfit that was probably making her feel much better than she should be at the moment? Gabby knows the feeling of having lost a child, and how hard it is to get out of that funk; so, she had every right to believe that her best friend was mad at her as she just sat down. Feeling her mom walk over to her, Gabby took a breath as she turned her head and looked at her; she didn't really want her mom to be here, but she knew that there was no chance that her mom wasn't going to be here when she's down. Walking over to her daughter this evening, Camila Dawson proceeded to sit down next to her so that she could give her comfort. "Mi amor, what's wrong?" Taking a breath, Gabby knew full well that her mother was not going to take any BS.
She was going to push her until she spoke to her, just like her husband (rightfully) would do. I mean, they both care for her so much; that they both want to do whatever they can to make sure that she's okay, which is exactly what they're supposed to do. Just taking a breath, Gabby looked at her mother. "I threw up all over my best friend's dress." Camila looked at her daughter when she said that, clearly able to see that was really bothering her at the moment. She could see the tears in her eyes, about how bad she felt that she even did that to her best friend's clothes. However, she didn't feel like she really had a need to be worried; after all, it's just clothes…and she really believes that Stella will forgive her. So, for Gabby not to believe that as well really breaks the mother's heart; especially when Stella is Gabby's best friend. She could never hold this silly thing against her. "Sweetie, that's not something that you need to worry about. She's your best friend mija."
Gabby just took a breath when her mom told her that, well aware that was the truth; however, that didn't mean that she didn't think that she had every right to feel bad about the fact that she ruined her best friend's dress. If anything, she believed that nobody had the right to tell her that she can't feel bad about the fact that she did just that. Just looking at her mom as she tried to console her, Gabby took a breath. "Mom, I ruined her dress. The dress was gorgeous on her, and I hated that I did that. Right now, I shouldn't even be anywhere near her, because I'm just going to do it all over again. And I can't do that to her, especially not in her state." The mother knew full well just what her daughter was talking about, as she has been helping Stella through her trauma as well. She's turned into a surrogate mother for the former firefighter, and that's been something that she's truly enjoyed having; especially since she didn't really have a mother figure in her life.
Heck, pretty much everybody that currently lives here in this home (except for Gabby) doesn't really have a mother figure in their life; so, Camila is just that for everybody that lives here. She's their mother figure, which makes Camila quite happy. She loves being a mother figure not only to her own children, but to all the people whom love her siblings; which is exactly what's happening right now. And speaking of what's happening right now, Matt is currently in the midst of walking in the room after having searched the entire home for his wife; and he was clearly worried, which is something that Gabby could tell the moment she laid her eyes on him this evening. "God, Gabby. I have been worried sick." Taking a breath, Gabby decided to get up so that she could walk over to her husband this evening; wanting to give him a bit of comfort so that he can relax after having not been able to find her for a while. Taking a breath, she hugged him and held him close to her.
Moving his hand to the back of Gabby's head, Matt smiled as he leaned back and looked at her. "Hey, are you okay Gabby?" Gabby took a breath as Matt asked her that question, before moving to go sit back down. At the same time, Camila decided to pull Matt aside so that she could tell him what was bothering his wife; and then, she was going to make sure that the couple had a moment alone. And that was going to involve her keeping the couple's best friends out of the screening room, so that Matt could talk to his wife and make her feel better; which is something that she knows her son-in-law is an expert in. Looking at his mother-in-law after she pulled him aside, Matt took a breath as he looked at her. "So, care to tell me why you pulled me aside?" Giving a quick glance at her daughter to make sure that she wasn't listening to her and Matt as they spoke, Camila then proceeded to tell him what was going on at the moment. "She blames herself for all of this."
Taken aback, the answer that his mother-in-law just gave him didn't exactly make sense to the husband; nor did it really give him a real answer to what he was asking her, as he still didn't know what she was blaming herself for. "Okay, you're going to have to explain to me what you mean by that." Camila took a breath when Matt said that, well aware that what she just told him was quite vague; and that was not the type of response that he needed from her at the moment. Rather, he needed a response that was more precise; a response that gave him as much detail as possible, but without wasting too much of his time (which was time that he could rather put to better use making his wife feel better). "She ruined Stella's dress, feels horrible for it, doesn't think she should be around her, thinks she hates her." Matt just looked at Camila when she said that, glad that she really cleared that up for him; especially when she said it in such an expert way.
Now, that answer really did it for Matt; it gave him all the information that he needed, and definitely gave him enough to know what he needs to do so that he can make his wife feel better. "Thank you Camila. Now, do you mind maybe making some snacks? Gabby didn't feel good, so we're going to hang out in here until she's too tired." Camila smiled. "Do you mind if I join you guys? Maybe I can talk to Stella and help her?" Matt sighed. "We're trying to be positive tonight, so maybe not?" Camila agreed with her son-in-law when she heard him say that, well ware that was probably the better idea. "Of course, I promise. Now listen, I'll go make some snacks. Meanwhile, you talk to your wife; and make sure that she feels better before your friends come downstairs." Matt agreed with his mother-in-law when she told him what to do, well aware of the fact that's exactly what he has to do for his wife; he needs to make her feel better while they're still alone.
Matt's POV:
Making my way over to Gabby so that I can join her in sitting down on the couch we have in here, I took a breath as I knew that this conversation wasn't going to be as easy as I wish it was; and I know that because my wife is quite stubborn, which is something that I know better than anybody. I mean, she did push me hard to get her pregnant; and now, I can't imagine my life without her being (1) pregnant and (2) in it for the rest of our lives. And that's something that's going to be really nice as we raise our kids together as husband and wife. I am so proud to call Gabby my wife, and I can't wait to see what life is going to throw at us. But right now, that's not my biggest priority; rather, that's me making my way over to Gabby so that I can take care of her. So that I can make sure that my girl is okay, and that she's okay to hang out with our friends tonight. If she'd rather just take it easy in bed, then we can do that; but I would still like to spend time with Kelly and Stella.
So, we'll see what happens after I talk to her; but right now, I'm just going to make my way over to her and sit down with her. "Want some company?" Turning her head, Gabby looked up at me and took a breath. "Not like I really have a choice in the matter, you're going to join me anyways; and you're going to tell me how wrong I am." I took a breath when I heard Gabby tell me that, hating that it was the case. I always hate telling her that she's wrong sometimes, but this is a time where she's wrong; as it's never going to be her fault that she feels bad. If anything, it was the restaurant's fault as they made something that she didn't enjoy. Or more specifically, that our sons didn't enjoy that much this evening. So, I can use that at least. "Well, in this case it's true." Looking up at me, Gabby just watched as I came to sit down with her. Wrapping my arm around her, I smiled as I got close to her and put my hand (with my wedding band) on her stomach this evening.
Seeing that she was wearing one of my button-up shirts (with the buttons done up low), I smirked when I noticed that she was wearing some lingerie for me; and let's just say that I love the sight of the lingerie that my beautiful wife was wearing for me tonight. And that was definitely something that I was going to make clear to my wife. Moving to put my hand on her neck, I smiled as I bent down and then proceeded to leave a soft kiss on my girl's neck. Laughing a bit as I did that, Gabby laid her head back as I turned her head and kissed her once again. "I swear, I am not worthy of such a sexy wife like you." Gabby smiled when I told her that, leaning up before kissing me softly. Just taking things nice and slow with my gorgeous wife, I smirked due to the fact that I just love the way we're sharing a kiss right now. I love Gabby more than anything after all, and this is exactly what I want to be doing with my girl at this moment. Pulling away from the kiss, I smiled at my girl.
"Not too long, Kelly and Stella are going to join us soon." I shook my head when Gabby told me that, placing my hand on her stomach as we both held each other close. "No, I already made sure that Kelly and Stella are going to take their time; and they're going to give us a minute to talk, as that's something that we need to do right now." Gabby agreed with me as I told her that, leaning her forehead against mine. "How did I get so lucky to have a husband like you?" I smiled when Gabby asked me that. "I could ask you the same question, as I love my wife more than anything in the entire world. I want you to remember that as we hold each other close okay?" Gabby agreed with me as I told her that, just smiling as she relaxed in my arms at this moment. "I know what you mean, and I'm just happy that we're together right now. This is what I need right now." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "And Stella will tell you the same thing, I promise Gabby."
Gabby agreed with me as I told her that, smiling as that was probably the truth; heck, I know that it's the truth as I have already spoken to her. "Heck, I already know it's the truth because I've already spoken to her. Baby, Stella isn't going to be mad at you. She loves you more than anything in the entire world, and she knows that you can't always control how the babies make you feel. She loves you, and she's going to forgive you; I mean, I would forgive you if you did the same thing to me." Gabby laughed as I told her that, looking at me. "Last time I checked, you have no choice but to forgive me; I mean, you are the man who got me pregnant with your twins." I smiled when I heard Gabby tell me that, as I am the only man who will ever get her pregnant with our twins. "Last time I checked, only a woman's husband can get her pregnant." Gabby laughed as I said that. "Or her fiancé." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, smiling at my girl this evening.
Kissing her forehead, I smiled as I am quite happy that me and Gabby are having twins. Heck, that we're having children at all. There were so many times that I never believed that we would still be together, but here we are; still married, and very happy with each other. Bending down, I smiled as I proceeded to kiss my girl once again; and boy did Gabby like the fact that I just shared a kiss with her, happy to be home with me. "Are you sure that you want to ring in the New Year with our friends?" Gabby was about to say something, when we both heard Kelly and Stella come in. "Oh no, you are not running away and heading upstairs just because you're hormonal. And I don't care if that's wrong because you're my boss. I am not letting you steal my best friend away from me, when this is our last year that I am guaranteed to be able to spend time with her; as next year, you are going to have kids." Turning my head, I smiled when I heard Stella say that.
"Anyways, you boys need to do stuff for me and Gabby." I was confused when I heard Stella tell me that. "And what might that be?" Stella smiled at me. "I am going to talk to Gabby about what you just spoke to her about, and you are going to get us snacks for this evening." I agreed with Stella when she said that, getting up before smiling as I grabbed Gabby's hand. "Chocolate?" Gabby agreed with me when I asked her that. "Can you make me a Chicken Sandwich first? I need some protein since my supper…" I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, well aware of what just happened to her supper. "Of course baby, see you soon." Gabby agreed with me as I said that, watching as I walked away; at the same time, I looked at Kelly. "Let's go, the girls need to talk for a moment." Kelly agreed with me when I said that, well aware that was the case as we walked out of the home theatre for a moment; that way, Stella can talk to Gabby this evening.
Stella's POV:
As I walked over to Gabby this evening, I smiled because I wanted to talk to my best friend. I want her to know that I am not mad at her, nor could I ever be mad at her for what she did. She can take it easy, and she can relax for the sake of her twins. "Girl, I hope you know that I'm not mad at you." Gabby took a breath when I asked her that. "I hate to think that you aren't. I mean, I ruined your gorgeous outfit!" I agreed with her when she told me that, going to sit down next to her. "And you can always pay me back by picking up the dry cleaning." Gabby agreed with me as I told her that, obviously ready to do just that. "Oh, that's already happening." I agreed with my best friend when she told me that, going to grab my hand. "But girl, listen to me. You're pregnant with your kid. That's what matters at the end of the day. That you and your kid are feeling better. I don't give a damn about a dress, because it's just a dress. If anything, it just gave me a great experience."
Gabby was a bit confused when I said that, until she saw my smirk. "Oh." I agreed with Gabby. "God, I love having that big shower in my room!" Gabby just laughed when she heard me say that, well aware that it comes in handy. "Girl, I know EXACTLY what you mean; after all, I am pregnant." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, smiling at her. "Gabby, tell me the truth…did you really feel like going out tonight?" Gabby sighed when I asked her that. "This stays between us right?" I nodded. "Of course." Gabby then took a breath. "I wanted to go have fun with you, because you need me right now. You need me to help you through this." I looked at my girl when she said that, not wanting her to put me above her own health. "Gabby, not if you aren't feeling up to it. You're pregnant girl! That's more important that us going out. You need to think about your future babies first." Gabby smiled when I said that, nodding. "You sound like Matt." I agreed with her, smiling.
That's when Gabby realized something. "God, that husband of mine. Of course, he did that!" I just laughed, well aware that Matt is quite predictable at times. "Did he ask you to talk to me about certain things?" I agreed with Gabby when she asked me that. "Girl, he's your husband! You know him better than anybody in the entire world. I mean, do you really NOT expect him to do that. He loves you to pieces, and he just wants to do whatever he can to make you feel better. And right now, that's by treating you like his queen." Gabby agreed with me as I said that, smiling at me. "Oh honey, don't I know that. Why do you think I am wearing one of his button up shirts?" I then went to look down the shirt, shaking my head. "Girl, you're going to KILL that man of yours." Gabby smirked when I said that. "Yeah, that's the point. Make him want me too much, that he can't not want me anymore." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, smiling at my best friend.
"But seriously, you guys are going to remember that you need to TONE IT DOWN when we're working on business; heck, when you guys have your twins!" Gabby laughed when I said that. "Oh definitely, especially when I'm going to be recovering after giving birth." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that. "Oh, I am so going to be joining you to design some." Gabby smiled when I said that. "And it's not going to hurt you to be up there?" I knew exactly what Gabby was trying to ask me, so I decided to shut that down. "Girl, if you ask me that again…I am not going to be a very happy woman." Gabby smiled when I told her that. "And I am not going to be a very happy woman if you threaten me like that again, especially when I am your boss!" I laughed when she told me that, loving that I already have my girl back in her old state. "God, this is fun." Gabby agreed with me as I told her that. "I know right, I am so glad that we're back home." I agreed with her.
"Maybe this is what we should've done in the first place." Gabby agreed with me as I told her that. "Yeah, I can definitely see that being the case. Still, I just love how we're going to be waited on by our guys." I smirked when I heard Gabby say that. "Well, you are. I'm not too sure about Kelly." Gabby looked at me when I said that, before thinking about something. I just knew that she was thinking about something. "BOYS!"
Gabby's POV:
As I watched Matt and Kelly walk back into the screening room this evening, I smiled as I looked at my handsome husband. "Yes babe? You called? Are you okay?" I smirked when he asked me that. "Well, here's the thing. Me and Stella were just taking, and we agreed that you boys would be our waiters this evening." Kelly just looked at me when I said that. "Excuse me?" I then went to give him an evil glare. "Kelly Severide, you are one of our waiters. You are going to rotate getting us things. I mean, that's unless you don't want to get sex tonight." Matt smirked when he heard me say that, before turning to look at his best friend; and let's just say that I was not impressed. "And the same goes for you Mr. Casey, either tonight OR tomorrow if I'm too tired tonight. So, watch what you do when it comes to your FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!" Matt gulped when he heard me say that, well aware that I was not joking around at the moment. "I love you Gabby." I agreed with him.
"Good boys. Now, I want some chocolate covered pretzels with my chicken wrap." Stella then smirked. "I want some chocolate covered pretzels too." Stella then got up and proceeded to move to where she and Kelly are going to sit tonight, which made Kelly smile. Meanwhile, I decided to undo Matt's shirt a bit to make sure that he did as he was told. "I love you Gabby, we will be right back." He then went to push Kelly out of the room to go get our snacks, clearly turned on. Meanwhile, me and Stella both just looked at each other; laughing hard at the fact that they just did that. "God, so easy." I agreed with my best friend when she told me that, smiling at her as we both went ahead and started to watch the Dick Clark's New Year's Eve special from Times Square in New York City; my favorite New Year's Eve special.
"I swear, I so hope to go to Times Square someday." I smiled when I heard Stella stay that. "Someday, I want to be in New York Fashion week; then we'll be able to go there." Stella agreed with me when I said that, smiling as we both started to watch the show; at the same time, our guys went to grab us some food.
