Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Four
Valentine's Day – Part Seven
He was currently standing close to his wife in the room where she was getting ready, as he wanted to make sure that she was okay; that she wanted to go ahead and do the vow renewal. He would completely understand if she didn't want to go ahead with the vow renewal, as he was not happy that Sylvie was here; it was the worst possible thing that could've ever happened, and he was furious at her for doing it. But that was the least of his concern right now. Rather, his main concern was his wife; he wanted to make sure that his wife was okay, and that she wanted to do this. Just taking a breath, Matt proceeded to make his way over to the door where he heard Gabby yelling. "GOD, IS SHE THAT MUCH OF A BITCH!" Stella just took a breath, knowing that she needs to take it easy. "Gabby, you need to take it easy. Please, you need to breathe." Gabby then snapped back. "OH, I KNOW I DO! But this not fair, as this is what I wanted for my life. I want to renew my vows with my husband, without her having to ruin it!" Stella sighed. "Girl, she can't ruin it…" Gabby laughed as she said that.
"This is all I am going to remember, the fact that she was here! The fact that she had the audacity to be here! I mean, am I really going to be able to just think about my husband?" And that statement broke Matt's heart, as he didn't want to hear that. After doing all of this for Gabby, he thought that they could renew their vows; and that they could just concentrate on each other, because that was what mattered at the end of the day. He loves her, and he wants to give her a real wedding. "What are you going to tell Matt?" Gabby sighed. "I have no clue. Maybe I should just do it for him…" That's when Matt had enough because he was not going to let Gabby do that, he was not going to let her just do it for him; she should want to do it too, because this is for the both of them. This is their real wedding, a wedding that he's owed to Gabby for a while. "No, you are not going to just do it for me." Turning around when she heard Matt's voice, Gabby took a breath as he walked in.
Looking at his best friend's wife, Matt Casey took a breath as he wanted to have a moment alone with his wife, which Stella already knew. "I'm going to let you guys talk for a minute." Matt agreed with Stella when she said that, smiling at her. "Thanks Stella. Can you try and stall for the both of us?" Stella agreed with Matt when he asked her that, smiling as she grabbed his hand before proceeding to leave the bridal suite. At the same time, Matt looked at his beautiful wife; the wife whom he wants to renew his vows with, but he's not going to force her. He's not going to force her, if she's not going to remember it as a happy day. Just taking a breath, Matt looked at his wife as she stood there in the gown that she was going to wear as a wedding dress. "I like the dress you chose to wear." Gabby sighed when she heard Matt say that, before going to walk over to the couch so that she can sit down and just take it easy for the sake of their twins; their beautiful babies.
Seeing that Gabby was really worried right now, Matt proceeded to make his way over to Gabby; sitting down next to her, Matt took a breath while wrapping his arm around her. Afterwards, he reached for her hand. Grabbing Matt's hand when he reached for hers, Gabby took a breath and intertwined their fingers. After which, Matt pressed his lips to her forehead; holding his beautiful wife at the same time, Matt left a continuous set of kisses on her forehead. "Just take some breaths okay baby?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her to take a breath, which is exactly what she did for her loving husband. Looking down at their hands, Gabby took a breath as she stroked Matt's hand with her thumb. "You okay?" Gabby sighed as Matt asked her whether she was okay, turning her head to look at the man she loves. "She threw me off, and it's just a lot to take it." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife when she said that, taking a breath before kissing her temple.
Afterwards, he proceeded to whisper to her. "I hope you know that I'm here for you, whatever you want to do." Gabby took a breath when her husband told her that, well aware of just what he was talking about. "You mean, if I want to cancel?" Matt nodded as Gabby asked him if he was talking about him supporting her decision to cancel the vow renewal, if that was what she wanted to do right now. "Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about." Gabby sighed when she heard Matt tell her that, because she hated to think about cancelling; and what led her to cry a bit. "Hey, why are you crying?" Gabby just cuddled up to Matt a bit, while he went to rub her eye. "Hey, it's okay baby. Just talk to me and tell me why you're crying." Gabby took a breath when Matt asked her why she was crying. "Because I don't want to cancel, not when you did all of this for me. It's a beautiful surprise, and I am so glad that you did this for me; because I love it baby." Matt agreed with her.
"I know baby. I know that you want to do this. But I am not going to force you to do it if you aren't ready to do it. If you have too much on your mind right now, then we don't have to do it; I mean that Gabby, and you need to believe me." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, just taking a breath as she looked up at the man she loves. Afterwards, she leaned up and proceeded to kiss him softly; taking things slow with his wife at the same time, Matt smiled as he stroked her hand with his thumb. "Baby, I'm here for you. Just talk to me and tell me what's going on in your head right now." Gabby took a breath when Matt told her that he wants her to talk to him, that he wants her to tell her what's going on in her head right now. "Baby, I am just so conflicted; I want to do this, but I am just not sure." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, taking a breath. "What are you thinking right now Gabby? Talk to me." Gabby agreed with Matt.
"I'm just worried, that I'm going to think about how Sylvie was here. I mean, this is Honolulu; and this is our building. How in the world did she get in when she is someone that we hate?" Matt sighed. "I will talk to security okay?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that he'll talk to security. "I appreciate that." Matt shook his head. "Hey, I want the same thing. I don't want her to be in here, not when she did so much to my girl; not when she hurt you so bad. I mean, not as bad as I hurt you." Gabby took a breath as she grabbed my hand. "I'm so sorry that this is how things are turning out right now." Matt shook his head when Gabby apologized, as that's not what he wanted to hear right now. Bringing her hand to his lips, Matt kissed the back of her head and just smiled. Afterwards, he turned his head and then kissed her forehead softly. "Gabby, you're my girl; and I want you to know that I am going to do whatever you want me to do." Gabby agreed with Matt.
"Gabby, I love you; and let's just think about this right now, as I want to make sure that you're okay." Gabby took a breath, looking down at Matt's hand. "God, this is hard; and I hate that I am so hormonal when it comes to my tears." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that hormones are really affecting her emotions, which is something that he's used to now. "I promise that I'm still here for you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smiling as she turned to look up at him. Bending down, Matt smirked as he kissed her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves, Matt just made sure to let Gabby know that he loves her. "Listen, what do you want to do baby?" Gabby took a breath as she looked into Matt's eyes. "I want to have sex with you, but I also want to have the entire wedding experience." Matt smiled. "Maybe we can just renew our vows, and then we can go upstairs? How does that sound?" Gabby took a breath, sighing.
"I know that you want to give me the entire wedding experience, but are you okay with that?" Matt nodded as Gabby asked him whether he was okay with them just doing the ceremony, before they headed upstairs. "Hey, of course I am baby. You are my wife, and I want to do whatever I can to make sure that you feel okay; and I want to make sure that we chance the memories from this day. This is not how I want you to remember this day, so I think that us doing the vow renewal would be a good way to take away the bad memories." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, thinking about it before leaning up and kissing the man of her dreams softly. "Listen, how about you send my mom in here for me and go get everything ready. I won't be long. I just want to do it, and then I want to go be alone with my husband." Matt smirked as he looked at his beautiful wife, bending down so that he can kiss her softly. "I have plans for after the vow renewal already."
Gabby looked at Matt as he told her that. "Oh, you do?" Matt smirked. "I am going to take you in my arms, and I am going to make sure that you feel a lot better." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smirking due to the fact that she loves this man so much. "I love you so much, and I am so happy that you set this up for us." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that. "I love you too, and I am so glad that we are doing this. Now, I am going to get everything ready." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smirking as she gave him one last kiss. Afterwards, Matt got up and kissed her forehead softly. "See you out there." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smiling as she watched him walk away. At the same time, Gabby took a breath and just relaxed there in her room so that she can be ready when she walks down the aisle; for when she goes ahead and renews her vows with the man that she loves more than anything in the entire world, her husband.
Matt's POV:
Walking out of the bridal suite, I proceeded to take a breath while walking over to my groomsmen (Kelly, Cruz, and Otis) to give them an update as to what's happening. Looking at me, Cruz smiled. "How's Gabby?" I took a breath and went to answer his question. "She wants to go ahead with the vow renewal, but just the vow renewal." That's when my sister walked over to me. "So, no party afterwards where we can talk?" Turning to look at my sister, I smiled as I was glad that she was here. Walking up to her, I smirked before going to hug her; while also noticing that my mom was here. "God, I am so glad that you guys could make it." My mom agreed, hugging me. "I'm glad that I get to be here at one of my kids' weddings." I laughed, agreeing with her when she told me that. "You know you can always come here, and I have a house for you guys to live in." Christie looked at me when I said that. "You have a house, along with the one that you inherited?"
I smiled at her. "I have a penthouse here in the building, and we're going to live here so that I can work on building my company here. By the way, you know that I will always have a job for you if you want to join me. And the same goes for you mom, as I know that you need something to keep you busy." My mom smiled. "Do you need a background check?" I tried to hold back a laugh. "I'm sorry, I'm trying not to laugh mom; I'm really trying not to laugh based on the situation, but…" My mom smiled when I said that. "Hey, it's okay Matt; I understand why you want to laugh." I took a breath. "I just needed to laugh after the drama that just happened." Christie looked at me when I said that. "Yeah, what was with all of that drama anyways?" I sighed. "The woman that just left, was Gabby's old paramedic partner; they have bad blood, because she abused her while she was working under her." My mom was shocked. "Oh dear." I agreed with her, smiling at her.
That's when I saw Heather walk over to me. "Hey, I was looking for you. How's Gabby?" I took a breath. "She's doing better. Oh, by the way. I am not sure if you've ever met my family Heather." Heather turned to look at my mom and sister. "No, I haven't." I smiled. "Heather Darden, I want to introduce you to Nancy Casey, and Christie Casey. My mom and sister." My mom took a breath. "Actually, I changed my last name. It's now Nancy Mathies." I was confused when I heard my mom say that. "Mathies?" My mom just laughed. "Matthew and Christie. Mathies." I thought about it, and smiled at my mom. "That's clever." My mom just took a breath. "I just wanted to get away from my old identity. Listen, it's nothing against the name Casey but…" Christie then spoke up. "Hey, I get it mom. I understand that you wanted to get away from your history." My mom smiled at Christie when she said that, glad that was the case. "Thanks guys." I then smiled at them both.
Afterwards, I when to go hug my mom. "I am so glad that I have you at my wedding." My mom agreed with me. "Me too. And I think I will definitely take you up on your offer to stay, because I want to help with my grandchildren." I agreed with my mom when she told me that, smirking as I love that idea. "Oh, I absolutely love that idea. I definitely want to have that happen. We'll figure things out. But listen, as much as I want to just talk; I need to get things ready. I want to renew my vows." Christie smiled. "I swear, I need to find myself my own Matthew Casey." I just looked at my sister when she said that, creeped out. "Okay, that's creepy." My sister just laughed, smiling at me. "By the way, where's Violet?" Christie sighed. "At school. Jim refused to let her leave school." I sighed when I heard that. That's when I saw Christie's eyes wander. "Now listen, I am going to go talk to that nice guy over there; and tell him how handsome…" Turning my head, I sighed.
I sighed because I knew who she was looking at, she was looking at Jay. "He's married." Christie sighed when I said that. "Aw." I just looked at her. "And he's one of my executives, so don't scare him off if you want a job with me." Christie looked at me. "You know, I do have my money that I can invest." I smirked. "Oh, are you thinking about it?" Christie laughed. "I want to invest it into Gabby's clothing line." I smiled. "Sounds good, but I am not guaranteeing you a job." Christie smiled when I said that. "By the way, which one is my partner?" I was confused. "What?" Christie looked at me. "I'm in your wedding party? No?" I sighed and just looked at her. "You didn't give me the chance to walk you down the aisle, you had your father-in-law do it when I was there; and I wasn't in the wedding party." My mom turned to look at Christie. "Excuse me!" Christie gulped. "Sorry." I just shook my head. "You aren't in the wedding party." Christie agreed with me, smiling.
Afterwards, I looked at my mom. "However, I will walk the both of you down the aisle so you can sit down. And you are going to watch me renew my vows." Christie agreed with me when I said that, smiling as we were all really happy. At the same time, I smiled as I went to hug my family. "I'm happy that you guys are here." Both my mom and sister held me, smirking as they are both extremely happy too. "Thanks again for inviting us." I agreed with them both, before smiling as I looked at them both. Afterwards, I took a breath as I was ready to go renew my vows with Gabby. "I need to just go make announcement okay?" They both agreed with me when I said that, smiling as I walked away. Taking a breath, I went to get everybody's attention. "Okay, listen up everybody." Everybody agreed with me, turning to face me. "I am letting you know that there will not be a reception after the vow renewal. Rather, we are doing the vow renewal before resting."
Everybody just listened to me. "And this is due to the drama that happened. Whether we have one later, we aren't sure. So, I'm sorry about that. However, I promise that we can get together at some point. But right now, I want to get this started." Everybody agreed with me when I said that, smiling as we got ready to renew our vows today.
Note to Readers: I have decided to just write the vow renewal in a script format, then I am going to do something else.
Celebrant: Friends, Family and Loved ones of Matthew and Gabriela Casey, I welcome you today to their Vow Renewal this Valentine's Day. On behalf of Matt and Gabby, I want to tell you all that they are extremely grateful for you to have come here today. However, in light of the drama that occurred today; we want to remind you that there will be no celebration afterwards. Rather, we are going to just let them go our separate ways. But now that we have that, let's get this started.
Matthew and Gabriela, you both have previously vowed to love each other til' death do you part in front of the legal system. Matt: I, Matthew James Casey, continue to take you, Gabriela Marie Casey, to be my wife. I promise to love you, to support you, and be there for you.
Celebrant: I promise to love you through sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, forsaking all others, until death do us part.

Celebrant: Matthew and Gabriela, you have vowed to love each other for the rest of your loves in front of each other and your loves ones. You have sealed your love with the vows you have proclaimed to each other today, before each other; and before those whom will help you adhere to the promises that you have made to each other today. I therefore ask your friends and family, to please respond with we will after I ask you these questions.
Guests: (Agreed)
Celebrant: Do you, the friends of Matthew and Gabriela, promise to help keep them accountable to both themselves; and to each other to adhere to the vows that they have professed in front of each other today?
Guests: We will.
Celebrant: Can I have the rings?
Matt: (Grabs Gabby's soft ring that he bought). Gabriela, continue to wear this ring that I have already given to you when we were first married; for the rest of your life as a symbol of my love and respect for both you, and for the love that we share with each other. The love that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Gabby: (Grabs Matt's ring). Matthew, continue to wear this wedding band that I have already given to you when we were first married; for the rest of you life as a symbol of my life and respect for both you, and for the love that we share with each other. The love that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Celebrant: Now that you have shared your vows, and re-exchanged rings; I now pronounce you Husband and Wife again. Matthew, you may kiss your wife.
Getting close to his beautiful wife, Matt smirked as he wrapped his arms around both her and their children; the woman whom he loves more than anything in the entire world. Putting her hands on Matt's chest, Gabby smiled as she looked up into his eyes. Afterwards, Matt proceeded to bend down and kiss his beautiful wife softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams, Matt smiled as they both just enjoyed the kiss that they were sharing at the end of their vow renewal this Valentine's Day; at the same time, everybody got up and clapped for their friends shortly after they renewed their vows.
