Chapter One Hundred and Forty-Four
It didn't take long for Matt to make his way back up to the penthouse this morning, as he wanted to spend time with his wife; and boy was he glad that he was finally home, as it meant that he didn't have to go a second longer away from the woman he loves. Oh, and the sight that was in front of him. And just what sight might that be? Well, it's the sight of his wife wearing nothing but her underwear and one of his dress shirts, while she stands in the kitchen as she makes herself some breakfast; after all, he did already have some breakfast this morning prior to having gone downstairs. He needed to after all, as he didn't know how long he was going to be downstairs working; but if he could go back and not be downstairs this morning, he wouldn't…not even if it meant that he got to see Gabby put his shirt on top of her braless chest (she's always braless when she wears his shirt after all). And boy, is it sexy. He just loves it when she doesn't wear a bra.
And that's especially the case when she's against his chest, with nothing but a simple piece of fabric in between the both of them. But there was another reason why he was going to like the fact that she wasn't wearing a bra, as it would give him some comfort; comfort as he talks to his wife about Andy, which is something that he wants to do after he had that exact conversation with Heather. He never expected that topic to come up, as it's a topic that's hard for her to talk about; heck, it's still a topic that's hard for him to talk about. And that's even the case when he talks about it with Gabby. But sharing how he's feeling of late with Gabby, well he has to do that; especially since he's starting to wonder whether he has PTSD. He just hates that he spoke about it with Heather before he spoke about it with Gabby, which is something that he needs to rectify by talking to her about it today. And he hopes that she's open to talking about it right now, as he needs to right now.
He wants to know whether, based on what she sees sometimes; that he has PTSD like Jay does after the trauma that he's gone through. And not just with having lost Andy the way he did (when he died literally before his eyes), but how he lost Hallie (in a fire when he was a firefighter); and then the abuse that he suffered as a kid. Add in the fact that he feels so conflicted at times when it comes to how he got his money, thanks to his abusive father; it really makes him want to talk to people sometimes, especially Gabby. And he definitely needs to do that right now, before she gets mad at him for not talking to her about it first; after all, she's going to be the one who helps him deal with the situation, just like he sees Alex do for Jay all the time. And that's why there's no doubt in his mind that Gabby would do the same for him. In fact, he believes that she would go above and beyond to make sure that she helps him through this confusing time.
And that's actually something that he know she's going to do after he does the right thing, and tell her how he feels; it's the right thing to do, and he knows it. So, they are going to talk about it as husband and wife so that they can get it out of the way. Making his way over to Gabby, Matt smiled as he set his work bag near the stairs (which led them upstairs); before making his way into the kitchen. Walking up right behind Gabby, he put his hands on her hips; which was definitely something that Gabby didn't expect. "Shit, who the hell found out the code to…" Turning Gabby around in his arms this morning, Matt smirked as he looked at his beautiful wife. Putting her hands on Matt's chest shortly after realizing that it was him. "Oh, sorry baby." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, proceeding to step close to her as he wrapped his arms around her together; at the same time, he smiled while staring into those gorgeous eyes of hers. Those beautiful eyes.
At the same time, Gabby put her hands on Matt's back while leaning up to kiss him softly. "Hey you." Matt smiled when he heard Gabby say that. "Sorry I wasn't here this morning." Gabby shook her head when Matt said that, not wanting him to apologize for not being here this morning; anyways, he does have to work on the business more often now. "It's okay, you get an idea for the business." Matt sighed when Gabby asked him that. "I just wanted to get some work done. Since we didn't work yesterday, and I just felt like I needed to get some work done." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that. "You could've done it here at home baby." Matt agreed with his wife, smiling. "Yeah, I could. But I want to get used to the routine of going to the office." Gabby nodded, agreeing with Matt when he said that; before watching as he let her go. The reason he let her go? It was so that she could make herself some breakfast this morning.
"Just keep making yourself some breakfast. But I might make myself some coffee, as I definitely need it after having looked at the screen for a bit; and having a bit of a conversation with Heather." Turning her attention away from the pancakes that she was making, Gabby looked at Matt. "Heather? What was she doing in the office?" Matt smiled. "Just exploring the space before we start working in the office next week. I think it's time." Gabby agreed with Matt as he mentioned that it's time that they start working in the office during the week. "Definitely. However, I think we also need to start rotating weekends here and at our other place." Matt was confused when he heard Gabby tell him that. "Is there a reason?" Gabby sighed. "We need to make the nurseries." Matt agreed with his wife when she told him that, but he could clearly see that she was a bit stressed about the fact that they need to make some nurseries both here, and at their other home.
"Are you worried that we aren't going to get things done on time?" Gabby took a breath as she looked at Matt when he asked her that, which prompted Matt to make his way back over to Gabby so that he could hold her in his arms once again. Wrapping his arms around Gabby, Matt stepped close to her and kissed her forehead softly; afterwards, Gabby put her hands on his arms. "I just…I have a lot on my plate right now." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, before smiling at his girl. "We both do." Matt nodded. "Do you want to just take it easy today baby? I can do that if you need to. I mean, I was just going to work from bed today for a bit; as I am trying to get things start. But if you need to talk to me…" Gabby sighed. "Yeah, I was going to work too. I want to get some designs done, and I want to get a few products out so that we can start making money." Matt sighed when he heard Gabby say that, as he thought that she was feeling pressure to do so.
"Baby, hey. You don't need to worry about that. Please, don't worry about having to turn a profit in your first year. Is that why you were tossing and turning a bit last night?" Gabby sighed when Matt asked her that, which prompted Matt to do the same. He then proceeded to just look at his beautiful wife while he kissed her forehead softly, and put his hands on her stomach. "Baby, you have no need to worry about making a profit this year; and I mean that." Gabby just took a breath, while looking up at her loving husband. At the same time, Matt decided to move his hand to her neck; leaning in, he then went ahead and kissed the woman of his dreams softly. Smiling as she felt Matt kiss her, Gabby wrapped her arms around his back as she stepped close to her husband. "Just take it easy okay baby. I promise that we're all going to be okay." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling as she laid her head down on Matt's chest right now; which is perfect.
"I'm also going to be renting our floors nine through twelve remember?" Gabby agreed. "Right, I forgot about all of that." Matt nodded as he heard Gabby say that, stepping close to Gabby before pressed a kiss to her forehead so that he could get her to relax this morning. "I hope you know that I'm here if you need to talk." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smiling as she looked up at the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; and the future father of her children. "I swear, I am such a lucky woman to have you as my husband." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as he put his hands on her neck. He then leaned in and proceeded to kiss Gabby softly, taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Listen, I need to talk to you about something." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Right now." Matt shook his head. "Just at some point in the future, maybe upstairs in bed."
Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as that's definitely something that they can do. "Do you want to go upstairs now?" Matt took a breath. "I think I might go up, unless you want me to make you some breakfast?" Gabby shook her head. "NO, I got it baby. Go upstairs, take it easy and just relax. We can work up there later, because I feel like you need to talk to me right now." Matt took a breath when he heard Gabby tell him that as that's definitely something that he needs to do. "Yeah, I need to talk to you." Gabby agreed with her husband when he said that, smiling as she went ahead and grabbed his hand. "Listen, how about you go up to bed and just relax? No work for a bit okay? I feel like you need to talk to me." Matt agreed with Gabby. "You going to eat first?" Gabby nodded. "It's almost done." Matt then smirked. "You want to have fun when you're upstairs." Gabby shook her head. "Not a chance. Just go upstairs mister." Matt agreed.
Walking away, he smirked as he went to grab his bags so that he could make his way upstairs. At the same time, he took one last glance at his gorgeous wife. "I'll be in bed." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she watched him walk away to head upstairs; however, she was also waiting for him to go as she wanted to do something else. And that would be call Heather. And no, it's not because she's jealous; rather, it's because she's concerned. She wants to know what Matt and Heather spoke about, so that she can know what she's walking into when she goes upstairs. Moving to grab her AirPods, Gabby went to put them in her ears before grabbing her phone. She then went to look through her contacts to go find Heather's contact that she has in her phone. She then went ahead and proceeded to give their friend a call.
Gabby's POV:
As I waited for Heather to answer the call I was making to her, I continued to make the pancakes for myself; before deciding to make a couple extra for Matt, as know that he didn't really eat that big of a breakfast today. He probably just had some cereal or something, which definitely isn't enough when he's worried. But now, I need to speak to Heather. "Hey boss." I laughed when I heard Heather say that, as I definitely liked hearing her tell me that. "Hey Heather." Heather then spoke up. "So, is there a reason that I'm speaking to both Mr. and Ms. Casey this morning?" I agreed with Heather when she said that, taking a breath. "Yeah, that's actually what I'm calling about; Matt was just here, and I wanted to know what you said. But first, let me say that I have no jealousy; and I am just worried for him, as I feel like something's up with him." Heather sighed when I asked her that. "I just don't want to get him in trouble. He wants to talk to you; I know that he does Gabby."
I agreed with Heather when she told me that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I know that. And I promise to you right now, that I am not going to give him hell. I'm just worried for him. What's going on Heather?" Heather took a breath when I asked her that, obviously well aware that she feels an obligation not to reveal what Matt told her in confidence; but I felt like she knew at the same time, that I needed know. "Matt's starting to wonder whether if he has PTSD." I took a breath when Heather said that, just concentrating on finishing up my pancakes. Putting them on my plate, I sighed. "To tell you the truth, I have been worried about that too." Heather seemed shocked. "Really?" I agreed with her when she asked me whether I've really been worried as to whether he has PTSD. Carrying my food over to the bar that we have here in the kitchen, I set it down before going to sit down on the bar stool. "Yeah, I have." I then took a breath and sighed.
"I can only assume that you know his background? I mean with…" Heather agreed with me. "Yeah, he told Andy about his background with his father." I agreed with her. "Yeah, that was something that I wasn't sure whether you know about. But definitely, I know that he has to have something from that. But is there another reason why he thinks about it? I just have this feeling that you're trying to hold something back." Heather sighed. "It's because of the fact that Andy died right in front of his eyes, and he said that stays in his head all the time. He even told me that he has a hard time one the anniversary of his death. I know, I should not be one telling you this but…" I shook my head. "Hey, like I said; you're not in trouble. And I'm not mad at Matt. All I want is for him to get it out somehow, which is what he's doing with our friends. And I definitely plan on talking to him about it when we're alone too." Heather agreed with me as I said that. "Gabby, I promise that's all that…"
I then went to speak up. "Heather, I'm pregnant with our twins; and I know that he sees you like his sister-in-law, because he always saw Andy as a brother. I know for a fact that he's never going to sleep with you. Plus, he's scared of even cheating on me." Heather was confused. "OK. I am not even going to say that he would do that, because I know that's not Matt. But can I ask why he's scared." I laughed when she asked me that. "My brother is a former cop, and a boxer." Heather laughed when I said that, understanding what I was trying to say. "Oh, I get it now. He's scared to make him mad, because he knows that he's going to have to deal with him afterwards." I agreed with her. "That, and because we just renewed our vows. I know that our marriage is solid, and it's always going to be solid; and that's why I'm never going to be jealous. But Heather, I do want to ask you for a favor." Heather agreed with me. "Hey, of course Gabby; what is it? Need advice on pregnancy."
I laughed when she asked me that. "I will definitely think about it. But, I just wanted to ask you to maybe keep me in the loop if he ever speaks to you about it. I know that you guys can talk about it, because you were his wife; and Matt was his best friend, so you guys have always leaned on each other." Heather agreed with me when I said that. "Yeah, we did. And I'm so glad that Matt's always been there for me and the boys." I smiled when she said that. "And we'll both be here for you guys as long as you need us." Heather agreed with me. "But I think you definitely need to talk to Matt about it today, I mean if you can." I agreed with Heather. "I think I will. But I also understand his loss, as I lost Shay in front of my eyes remember?" Heather agreed with me. "Yeah, I am so sorry that happened. I heard about it, and I wanted to reach out…but it was also the second anniversary." I agreed with Heather when she told me that. "I'm better now, I promise. But thanks for the thought."
I then went to tell her. "She died on the day Boden got married." Heather was shocked. "Shut up!" I agreed with her. "Yeah, we got a call while he was getting married at the firehouse. Matt actually proposed to me that day." I then took a breath. "I said no of course, then we did it again; and god, I swear…we had the best celebration. Girl, it was so hot. And I still have no clue how we didn't get pregnant after that celebration!" Heather laughed as I said that. "I'm just glad that you guys are pregnant now, because Matt is going to be a great dad." I agreed with her when she said that. "I know what you mean, because I watched him take care of your boys all those years ago; and he was an impeccable father to them. I mean…" Heather agreed with me. "Hey, take a breath Gabby; I understand what you mean." I agreed with her, smiling as she said that. "By the way, I am so sorry that woman just crashed your vow renewal." I agreed with her. "Yeah, not a topic…."
Heather agreed. "Hey, I got it. But listen, we need to start hanging out. Just the two of us." I smiled when I heard Heather tell me that, as I really liked that idea; after all, I do need to talk to her sometime. "Oh, definitely. I need to talk to a fellow mom to two boys, and get some pointers." Heather laughed when I said that, agreeing with me. "I'll start writing you some notes, maybe I can send you an e-mail with them." I agreed with her when she said that. "Specifically, how to deal with two boys at once." Heather laughed. "Well, I didn't have twins; but I twill try my best. Now listen, I know that you and Matt are definitely going to be spending some time together. How about you go do that?" I agreed with Heather when she told me that, definitely ready to do just that. "Thanks Heather." Heather agreed with me as we both hung up. Afterwards, I took a breath and heard the shower start. Well, I smiled as well go join my man in the shower if he decided to start the shower.
Having just made her way up to her and Matt's bathroom this morning, Gabby smiled when she saw the man she loves more than anything in the entire world in the shower; him obviously having decided to take a shower ahead of them getting in bed today, which is definitely something that she's interested in doing with the man she loves. She always loves cuddling up to him when they're at home, so they are definitely going to do just that; heck, she may even put some sexy lingerie on for the man of her dreams. But right now, she's just going to get in the shower with him; that way, she can run her hands all over that nice body of his. Walking over to the counter, Gabby went ahead and set some of her sexy lingerie down on the counter; the lingerie that she's going to wear as she cuddles up to her man in his boxers. Afterwards, she went ahead and turned to face him while undoing her bathrobe so that she could get in with him; which he'll obviously really enjoy.
Carrying it over to the hooks next to the shower, Gabby smiled as she hung it up next to her towel before opening the shower stall with the hopes of joining the man she loves in the shower; and that was definitely something that Matt was interested in as well, especially when he saw that she was currently naked and about to join him in the shower anyways. "Care to have some company in the shower?" Turning completely around so that he can face the woman he loves, Matt smirked as that was definitely what he wanted to do with her this morning. "Oh, you better be joining me in the shower Ms. Casey." Gabby laughed when she heard Matt say that, moving to get in the shower with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; as this was where she planned on starting their conversation, but only after she gets a bit of attention from the man she loves. She wants a nice kiss from her man, which he gave her shortly after she joined him.
Stepping close to Gabby, Matt smirked as he moved ahead with wrapping his arms around her and bending down to kiss her softly. "God, I am so glad that I get a chance to do this right now." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, wrapping her arms around him too as he put his hands on her stomach. "Do you need me to wash you?" Gabby shook her head. "No, we can do that later. Why are you in here?" Matt laughed. "Because I just put deodorant on this morning, I didn't want to wake you up." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that. "Yeah, maybe don't do that when you go around people downstairs; not when you might have meetings with them someday." Matt agreed with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, as that's definitely a good point. "Yeah, I need to do that." Gabby then took a breath. "So listen, there's actually a reason that I came up here." Matt agreed with Gabby when she told him that. "Oh, is there now?"
Gabby took a breath as she looked into Matt's eyes. "I called Heather." Matt then sighed as he went to grab Gabby's hand, well aware of why she did that. "I'm sorry, I know I should hear it from you but…I just wanted to know what I was getting into. Baby, please understand." Matt agreed with Gabby as she asked him to understand. "Hey, of course I understand Gabby. And I can't really judge you when I do the same with Stella sometimes." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that. "There are times where, your best friends can just really understand you better than your spouse can; and I hope you understand that." Gabby agreed with her husband. "Hey, I do understand that baby. I just hope that you know that you can always talk to me. I want you to be able to lean on me, and let me be there for you if you need me to be there for you."
Matt just looked at Gabby when she said that, worried that she felt like he wasn't relying on her enough. "Hey, that was not why I spoke to Heather; I hope you know that Gabby. It's not that I don't feel like I can't talk to you but…" Gabby then stepped close to the man she loves more than anything, putting her hand on his chest before kissing him softly. "Hey, take a breath and just look at me." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, looking down into her eyes. "I am never going to be jealous, and I am not jealous. I know that you and Heather are just good friends, and that there's nothing going on. Please do not ever feel like you have to justify your friendship to me." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as he bent down and then proceeded to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; because that's who she is. He truly believes that Gabby is the love of his life, and that she will always be the love of his life.
The shower didn't last long. Matt and Gabby both ended up wanting to get out, with Gabby getting out first; and since he was alone, Matt didn't want to stay long. So, he just finished up his washing up so that he could make his way out to bed with his wife. Quickly towelling off with his towel after stepping out of the shower (and shutting off the water), Matt smiled as he looked at himself in the mirror; he then made sure that he didn't need to shave, and saw that he didn't (in his opinion). But, he will shave if Gabby requests that he does. But right now, that was not what he was thinking about. Rather, he was thinking about how he wants to go join his lingerie clad wife in bed. That's really want he wants to do and hold her in his arms. So, he set his towel down on the counter and proceeded to grab the boxers that he already set on the counter. Grabbing them, he smiled as he put them on before tugging them up so that he was now clad in his boxers.
Anyways, that was how he was going to tease Gabby today; he was going to walk around in his boxers. Little did he know, that Gabby was going to be wearing some very sexy lingerie for him (she's already wearing it). Going to hang his towel back up on the towel rack, Matt smiled as he went ahead and walked out of the bathroom before looking at the woman who's currently standing at the end of the bed. Seeing that she was struggling with doing up her lingerie, Matt shook his head and smiled as he got ready to help her do it up; after all, she does need said help right now. She just needs him to help her with the lingerie so that she can get nice and comfortable in bed with him. After all, that's what they both want to do. Making his way over to her Gabby at the end of their bed, Matt smirked as he spoke to her. "Here, let me help you." Looking over her shoulder, Gabby smiled when she heard Matt say that he was going to help her; after all, that was what she wanted.
Letting go of the strings that were going to do up her lingerie, she smiled when she felt Matt grab the lingerie for her. He then went to start doing it up for her and just smirked due to the fact that she truly is a very gorgeous woman. And boy is he glad that she's his wife, as that will always be the case. Gabby is just the most beautiful woman in the entire world, and he's ready to hold her in his arms today; and every day for the rest of his life. Turning around to face her incredible husband, Gabby smirked due to the fact that she liked what she saw. She liked the sight of him clad in nothing put his boxers. "I have to say, I love the fact that you're just wearing your boxers." Matt smiled when he heard Gabby tell him that, stepping close to her before putting his hands on her stomach. At the same time, Gabby once again wrapped her arms around his back while staring up into his eyes; which is something that she does whenever he can, as she loves this.
This feeling that she gets when she's with the man she loves, is an incredible feeling that she always enjoys whenever they're holding each other close. And that's what they're doing right now. They're just holding each other close ahead of them getting in bed with each other. "Uhm, do you think we can talk about the Heather thing?" Gabby looked at Matt when he said that, well aware of just what he was talking about; as she knew that he was worried about it, and how things were looking right now. "Do you feel like you need to talk to me about it?" Matt sighed. "It can start the conversation that I know you want to have with me." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, well aware that's the case; so she's definitely going to be open to talking to him about it, especially when it's on her mind as well. She then watched as Matt got nice and close to her. Putting his hand on the side of her face, Matt smiled as he leaned in and kissed her softly this morning.
"Want to get in bed together?" Gabby agreed with Matt when he asked her whether she wanted to get in bed with her man. "Yeah, I think I'd like that. Then we can cuddle up to each other, and we can talk about it." Matt nodded, agreeing with his beautiful wife while feeling her grab his hand; and that's definitely something that he likes feeling. Her grabbing his hand as she led him to their bed (where they're going to talk about the Heather stuff). And that's completely fine with him, as he wants to talk about it too. He wants to make sure that they're on the same page in this scenario, as he wants to just talk things through as husband and wife; and that's exactly what they're going to do when they're in bed together. But first, Gabby wanted something from Matt first. And just what might that be? She wants a kiss from the man she loves, the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; as that will make her very happy. Heck, it'll make them both happy.
Stepping close to Gabby as they stood together next to their bed, Matt smiled as he put his hands next to her.
Matt's POV:
As I stepped close to Gabby, I smiled as this was exactly what I wanted to do right now. I just wanted to hold the woman I love close to me, and I want to share a nice kiss with her; as that will make us both very happy with each other. Leaning in, I smiled as I went ahead and kissed Gabby softly. "You know that you're the only woman for me right?" Gabby agreed with me when I asked her whether she knew that she was the only woman for me, as it's the truth; Gabby is the only woman that I can see myself being with, for the rest of my life. "I know that baby, and I was never jealous; I just wanted to know what you talked about, in case the conversation came up." I agreed with Gabby when she said that. "Are you mad that I spoke to her first? Be honest with me babe." Gabby took a breath when I asked her said question. "Sure, would I like to be the first to know? Of course I would. But you need to open up to the right person, at the right time." I agreed with her.
I then proceeded to kiss her softly, smiling as I just took things nice and slow with the woman I love more than anything in the entire world. "Anyways, not like you don't do the same with Stella." Gabby laughed when I told her that, as that was definitely the truth; she does talk to Stella about some things before I get a change to talk to her about some things. But I wouldn't change a thing, as I want her to have every change to talk about things; as long as we do talk about it at some point. "I think we can both agree that, as long as we talk to each other about it at some point; we can both be okay with us talking about it with others first." I smiled, agreeing with Gabby as she said that; after all, I felt the same way. I then watched as Gabby turned around, climbing into bed before I could kiss her again. And I was not complaining, as I wanted her to get in bed. Then, I was going to be able to join her in bed. I can hold her in my arms and make her feel very loved.
After all, that's what she goes for me. Climbing into bed shortly after my beautiful wife, I smirked as I went ahead and just got close to her this morning; which was exactly what she wanted me to do, especially when I saw her lay down facing me. So, I did the same and just brought her close to me while closing the covers on top of us. Feeling her wrap her arms around me as soon as I was laying down, I smiled as I slipped my arm under hear head and then put my hand on her stomach. Just stroking it with my thumb, I smiled as I stared into my beautiful wife's eyes. "How are you feeling this morning?" Gabby smiled as I asked her how she was feeling this morning. "I'm good, I just missed my husband in bed." I agreed with Gabby when she told me that, bending down so that I could kiss her softly. "I'm sorry, but you'll have to get used to it someday; especially when I am going to have to get the kids for you." Gabby agreed with me as I said that, smiling at me.
"God, that's going to be so adorable. Me watching you cuddle up to the kids as I wake up." I smirked when I heard Gabby say that. "So listen, I do want to talk about that Heather call. And some other things I have been worried about when it comes to you." Matt looked at me when I said that, clearly worried. "You have worries about me?" I sighed. "It's been years, but I think I am just really starting to think about them now that I heard you're thinking about them too." I sighed when Gabby said that, as I now knew what this was about. "You're talking about…" Me and Gabby then both said what we were both talking about at the same time. "PTSD." Sighing, I just looked at Gabby as I was a bit worried. "Baby, having PTSD is nothing to be ashamed of. If you think that you have PTSD, then we can deal with it together. I mean that baby." I agreed with Gabby when she said that. "I guess…I've just been in denial for a while." Gabby looked at me.
"Baby, how long have you felt like you've had PTSD?" I shrugged when Gabby asked me that. "Maybe ever since I quit the CFD. Maybe even since Andy died. I just…I haven't really explored it much, because I always chalked it up to part of the job. But now I know that it's not always supposed to be part of the job, and that it can instead of be a result of the job." Gabby agreed with me when I said that. "And I think, it's just come out so much; ever since I started to research about it, as I want to try and give back to firefighters who have PTSD. I've been reading about it, and I saw a checklist of some of the feelings that come with PTSD. And…I could see a lot of them in me. Bad dreams all the time, always thinking about the past and just…there's a lot that I haven't told you yet. In fact, I don't just think that I have PTSD; I know that I have PTSD, as I got diagnosed with it." Gabby was shocked when she heard Matt say that he got diagnosed with PTSD. "When baby?"
Taking a breath, I looked at Gabby when she asked me when I got diagnosed with PTSD. "I went to a clinic for firefighters in Chicago, and then I went to Med while I was there; I met with a doctor who knows me really well there, and he said that I have PTSD. Between what happened when I was a kid with my dad, to him being murdered, add in Andy, and then the tragic way we lost the baby; and how I almost died." I just teared up. "I tried to tell you, but I thought you'd think diff…"
Gabby's POV:
When I heard Matt start saying that he thought I would think differently about him, I just decided to stop him; after all, that would've never happed. Matt is the man I love more than anything in the entire world, and that's all that matters to me. That's the truth, and it'll always be the truth. Putting my hand on his face, I leaned in and went ahead to kiss him softly. Just taking things slow with my dreamy husband, I smiled due to the fact that I was happy over the fact that he was (at least) opening up to me. "Hey, look at me Mr. Casey." Matt agreed with me as I told him that, obviously ready to listen to me. "I never want to hear you say something like that. You are my husband, I love you; and you are not any less of a man because you have PTSD. Heck, I probably have PTSD too. Remember, Shay died right next to me." Matt took a breath, agreeing with me as I mentioned that. "I just hate that I have been suffering for so long with this diagnosis." I agreed with Matt.
"Baby, I'm sorry that you felt like you couldn't tell me. But I want you to just listen to me okay?" Matt agreed with me as I said that. "Baby, you can always tell me if you feel like you have PTSD. In fact, I want you to tell me so that I can help you out. I want to be there to help you and just make you feel better. If you ever think that telling me something will make you feel better, then you can definitely tell me." Matt just teared up and agreed with me. Getting close to my loving husband, I wrapped my arms around him and just held him close to me. At the same time, Matt moved his hand to my neck while taking things nice and slow with me. After all, it's what he needs right now. He needs to take things nice and slow with me, and I'm more than okay with that; as I want to take it slow with him as well. "I love you Matt, and that will always be the truth. I promise that we're going to deal with this, and we're going to figure it out together." Matt agreed with me.
"I appreciate that more than you could ever know." I agreed with Matt when he told me that, just getting close to the man I love more than anything in the entire world; which led to Matt wrapping his arm around my back and turning his head. And let's just say that it was exactly what I wanted to do right now. I want to take things nice and slow with my incredible husband, which we did shortly after he bent down and started to kiss me softly. Putting my hand on his face, I smiled as I kissed the man I love more than anything nice and slowly this morning. "Matt, do you want to talk about it more? Because we can?" Matt sighed as I asked him whether he wants to talk about it more. "I think I'm okay for now." I agreed with Matt when he told me that, smiling as we still both held each other close. Even though we may not be talking about it, at least we opened up about it. "Think we can do something else then?" Matt smirked when I said that. "We'd have to take an…"
I shook my head. "Nice try Mr. Casey. Just because you got a PTSD diagnosis, doesn't mean that means that you get sex." Matt laughed when I said that. "I was kidding. But we can take a bath later for sure." I agreed with Matt when he told me that, as I love that idea. "But, maybe we can just take it easy and relax? I would like that. It's the weekend, and we're here together; that's all that matters." I smirked when Matt said that, before looking into his eyes. "I think it's time we order the cribs for our room." Matt smiled at me. "I already have them in the closet. We just need to set them up." I smirked when I said that. "Do you have your tools here? Or are they back at the big house?" Matt smiled when I asked him that. "So, we're going to have the boys here for a bit?" I sighed. "I think for when they're young…" Matt agreed, proceeding to kiss me softly. "Hey, that's fine baby; I promise that we can do that." I smiled, agreeing with my incredible husband.
"How about you go get your tools? And we can make the cribs?" Matt agreed with me, leaning in to kiss me softly before getting up so that he can go get his tools.
