Chapter One Hundred and Forty-Eight
Gabby Dream:Independence Day 2019

July 4, 2019 - Six weeks. That's how long that the couple have been parents to their precious twin sons, Andrew James, and Matteo Ramon Casey. Yes, Matteo Ramon; as in, after Gabby's father Ramon. And let's just say that she was glad that they named Matteo after both her loving husband, and her own father as it was the perfect way to do it. But right now, that was not what she was really concentrating on right now. Rather, she was currently concentrating on the sight that was in front of her as she laid down in bed this morning; and that was the sight of her loving husband holding not just one of their sons, but both of their sons on his shirtless chest as he held them close in the rocking chair. And that's definitely something that she was enjoying, especially as she just laid down in quiet as to not tell her husband that she was awake. After all, she didn't want to stop him from doing what he was doing right now; as it was adorable, and she just loved the sight in front of her.

But that was not the only thing that she was enjoying. She was also enjoying the peace and quiet that was in their home, as that was definitely something that she needed even all these weeks later. Since she got home, there was just something about the silence that made her happy; as she no longer had to deal with the beeping noises that she had to hear day in and day out, while she was still in the hospital after giving birth to the twins. They ended up having to stay there for a week after she gave birth, but she was okay with that; after all, their sons were born prior to her having reached 38 weeks since they are twins. But she was ready for that, she made sure to get ready for that during her entire pregnancy; as that was something that was going to come with them having twins. So, she was ready for that time; and she made sure that she brought stuff to do. More specifically, she brought her sketch pad so that she could finish her last design for her line.

The design that was now in production with the help of her mother, and the ten seamstresses that they have recently hired to work at the headquarters. But, of course; that's not what they're doing today, as it's a holiday. Today is the anniversary of the founding of their nation, when they declared independence from Britain. But she was not celebrating that independence today, she was celebrating the independence that comes with no longer having to eat as much as she did when she was pregnant with their boys; not that she would have done anything different, as she wanted their sons to be as healthy as they possibly could when they (ultimately) brought them home. And that was exactly how this happened, a month earlier; which they were quire grateful for, as it only mean that they have to spend twelve days in the hospital. Yes, it was almost two weeks; but that was fine with her, as it was for the sake of their loving children Andy and Matteo.

Yes, they are using the same nickname that they gave Matt's late best friend for their son Andrew; and Matt was loving that, as it meant that he now had an Andy in his life once again. And even better, they had sons in their lives once again. That's when Gabby decided to tell her husband that she was awake, as she wanted to hold one of their sons. But god, she was just enjoying the sight so much; that she didn't want to disturb the sight, but she still wants to hold one of her sons. "Morning." Turning his head when he heard his beautiful wife say that, Matt just looked at his girl. "Morning." Gabby then smirked. "So, I can only assume that you already fed and changed both of the boys?" Matt took a breath when Gabby said that. "Sorry, you just looked so peaceful." Gabby agreed with Matt when he told her that, smiling as she loved the fact that he left her sleep. "Well, how about you come join me in bed? I want to hold Andy." Matt laughed when she said that.

He then got up, and proceeded to carry Andy over to his crib to lay him down. "You can hold Matteo." Gabby just pouted when she heard Matt say that, which was really a fake; as she knows that her loving husband really likes to hold his best friend's namesake, as she's going to want to do when they have a namesake for her late best friend. Looking down at Andy, Matt smiled as he placed Matteo against his chest and then rubbed his back. "Daddy will be right back lil' man. He just needs to bring your brother to mommy." Matt then turned around, holding his beautiful son against his chest while kissing his forehead softly. He then smirked as he looked at his beautiful wife, glad that this was their life as it was his dream life. He has two children, with the love of his life. "How are you feeling today?" Gabby smiled at her husband. "I'm ready to cuddle up to my husband and sons." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling at his girl right now.

He then proceeded to sit down next to Gabby on the bed, smiling at his girl. He then saw her open her arms, laying Matteo down in her arms. Smiling as he did that, Gabby wrapped her arms around Matteo while looking at her gorgeous son; the sons that she already loves more than anything in the entire world. She then bent down and left a soft kiss on his forehead, which prompted Matt to do the same with Gabby's forehead. Turning her head as she felt Matt leave a kiss on her forehead, Gabby smiled as she looked up at the man of her dreams; which led him to put his hand on her neck, and bend down to kiss her softly. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that he loves her. Leaning their foreheads against each other's, the parents both smiled at each other due to the fact that this truly is their dream life; and they are quite happy over the fact that this is exactly what they both want to be doing right now. They want to be together.

But this moment that they were sharing with each other (and Matteo) was soon interrupted, as Andy started to cry as he didn't like being alone in his crib. Snickering a bit, Matt looked at his beautiful wife. "Do you need anything to eat?" Gabby shook her head. "The boys will be asleep again soon as you fed them so, I'll wait until they're asleep to have breakfast if that's okay?" Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, smiling at the woman he loves. "Of course, it's okay baby." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, just smiling at him. "Listen, I am going to go grab Andy; and then I will come join my two beauties in bed." Matt then realized what he said. "Okay, that doesn't work for a son." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, as that was definitely the truth. "Yeah, I don't think that works that well for a son." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before bending down and proceeding to kiss her softly; before hearing Andy cry once again.

Getting up after their kiss was once again interrupted, Matt made his way over to Andy's crib once again so that he could grab his baby boy. Just looking down at him, Matt smiled as he bent down and ran his finger down his cheekbone. "Hey, it's okay. Daddy's right here. Daddy's right here to pick you up in his arms." Matt then proceeded to pick Andy up in his arms, smiling as she brought him close to his chest; he then kissed his baby boy's forehead, which was definitely something that he loved doing with Andy. He doesn't like to say that he has favorites, but he thinks that Andy has to be his favorite; and that's simply due to the fact that he's name after his late best friend, the best friend whom he misses each and every day that he raises his sons with Gabby. But now, he was time for him to make his way over to bed; so, he went ahead and carried Andy over to bed so that he could get in bed with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world.

Climbing back into bed once again shortly after making his way over with Andy, Matt smiled as he laid him down on his chest; afterwards, he slipped down in bed and tugged the covers up on top of both himself and Andy while putting his hand on his back. "Hey buddy, you happy to be back in bed with mommy and daddy?" He then bent down and proceeded to kiss his son's forehead, which is something that he does a lot each and every day. After all, that was his way to show his son that he loves him. How he loves his entire family. Turning his head as he felt Gabby grab his hand, Matt smiled due to the fact that he was glad that Gabby just grabbed his hand; after all, that was exactly what he wanted to feel right now. "I swear, I am already madly in love with this life that we have with the boys." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smiling as he slipped close to the woman he loves. He then wrapped his arm around her before kissing her forehead softly.

"I love our life too. It's incredible, and I am so glad that we're here with each other too. The life that we've had over the past six weeks has been the best, even better than our life with Louie; sorry to say that." Gabby laughed when she heard Matt say that. "No, I feel the same way; for the simple fact that they are our biological children." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, just smiling as he turned his head and bent down to kiss the woman he loves more than anything.

Gabby's POV:
Now this was the life. I had my loving husband, and our two sons in bed with me right now. And even better, my husband is kissing me nice and slowly right now; and there's nothing better than the feeling of his lips on mine, as I want that too. Just taking things nice and slow with my husband, I smiled as I laid my head down on his shoulder. After which, Matt left a soft kiss on my forehead; smiling due to the fact that this is what he wanted to do right now, or I think that it's what he wants to do right now. "You need to tell me when you get hungry okay? I'll go make us some breakfast." I looked up at Matt when he told me that. "You haven't eaten breakfast yet?" Matt shook his head. "I got a bit distracted, by our sons begging me to hold them in my arms." I smiled when I heard Matt say that, because I knew that was definitely (somewhat) the case. "I think, it's more like you wanted to hold our sons before you went downstairs." Matt smiled when he heard me say that.

"Okay, maybe that's more of the truth." I laughed a bit when I heard Matt tell me that, before leaning in and proceeding to kiss Matt softly. And let's just say that it was definitely what I wanted to do right now, as I love sharing sweet kisses with my loving husband; who just so happens to also be the father of my children, the twins we have been waiting to meet for months. "Have you been enjoying your life as a dad so far?" Matt agreed with me when I asked him whether he's been enjoying the life that he's been living so far with our sons. "It's been incredible so far, and I am going to keep thanking you for the boys for the rest of my life. That's just a fact." I agreed with Matt when he told me that, smiling as I knew that was going to be the case. I just knew that Matt would never be able to stop thanking me. "So, plans for today?" Matt smiled at me. "I want to just take it easy with you, and I want you to relax in bed. It's what you need to do baby." I agreed with him.

That's when we both heard somebody at the door, which prompted us to turn our heads. "I thought I heard the both of you up." Looking at my mom, I smiled at her. "Buen dia mama." My mom smiled when I said that, and then walked into our room. "Sorry, but I wanted to see you guys quick." I agreed with my mom when she said that, smiling at her. "It's okay Camila. Morning by the way, and I think that coffee is for me?" My mom laughed when Matt said that. "Yes. I decided to make some tea for Gabby, and some coffee for you." My mom then went ahead and proceeded to set the coffee that she made for Matt on his side table, before looking down at Andy. "Ola Andres." Matt then turned to look at my mom, still annoyed with she says that. "Camila, it's Andrew. Not Andres!" My mom laughed. "Oh c'mon Matt, you can't anglicize your son's name." I sighed. "Mom, it's Andrew Casey. Remember, we named him after Matt's late best friend?"

My mom agreed with me. "Right, I keep forgetting." Matt agreed with her. "So, it's Andrew. Matteo is the only one with the Hispanic name." My mom agreed with Matt. "Of course." She then proceeded to make her way over to my side of the bed, smiling as she set my tea down. "And here's your tea." I agreed with my mom when she said that, before smiling as she bent down and kissed my forehead. Afterwards, she turned to look at Matteo. "Ola Matteo." I smiled when she said that, before whispering to my mother. "Mom, can you look at me for a second?" My mom turned to look at me when I said that, just looking into my eyes as I asked. "Mom, you need to stop calling him Andres. I know that you want your grandsons to both be named Hispanic. But they aren't and it really hurts Matt when you do that, because it makes him feel like you aren't doing that we want to do. We're honoring his late best friend Andrew "Andy" Darden. Please mom, just stop doing it."

My mom agreed with me when I said that, turning her head before kissing my forehead softly; she then whispered to me. "Of course, mija, my apologies." I agreed with her when she told me that, smiling at her. "Can you make me one of your breakfasts? Maybe the nice egg meal that you brought to me on my third day in the hospital? Sorry, third day of the boys' life. You know what I mean." My mom agreed with me, bending down to kiss my forehead again. "Of course. See you soon." She then got up and looked at Matt. "Sorry again Matt." Matt agreed with my mom when she said that, smiling. "Thanks Camila, please understand." She agreed with Matt, smiling at the man I love. "See you both soon." She then went ahead and walked out of our room so that she can go make us some breakfast; meanwhile, Matt turned to look at me. "You talked to her about it, didn't you?" I sighed. "I had to Matt, as I didn't want her to keep hurting you. I know that it hurts you."

Matt took a breath when I said that, as he knew that was the truth. "Sorry that it hurts me." I shook my head when I heard Matt say that, proceeding to grab his hand as I wanted to show him that it was fine that it hurts him. "Baby, it's fine; I promise. I don't want you to feel like you can't be hurt sometimes. Baby, you need to tell my mom how you feel. Please, do not sugar coat it. I told her again how we named Andy after Andy….." Me and Matt then both just looked at each other, laughing a bit. "Okay, that's confusing. How are we going to distinguish AC and AD?" Matt was confused when I asked him that question, not understanding my question. "AC and AD?" I sighed, shaking my head. "Andrew Casey and Andrew Darden?" Matt then thought about that. "Yeah. I didn't think about that when we named our son." I agreed with Matt when he said that, taking a breath before looking at the man I love as we pondered that question.
