"How can you be so irresponsible!" Carla exclaimed, clearly annoyed.
"C'mon, Carla, it wasn't that big of a deal," Happy tried to calm her down, but without much success.
Happy watched Carla with a mix of worry and confusion.
Lately, she had been more aggressive than usual, and every interaction seemed to end in an argument.
"You don't have the slightest sense of responsibility, do you!" Carla exclaimed again, growing increasingly frustrated.
Happy didn't understand what was going on, but he knew he had to do something to calm her down.
That day, after a particularly difficult mission, Carla had begun to berate him for a minor mistake. Her voice was getting louder and louder, and Happy knew he had to act before the situation escalated further.
Taking a deep breath, he decided to try a bold, albeit somewhat foolish and risky, idea.
As Carla continued to argue, Happy rushed over and, before she could react, wrapped his arms around her waist and stole a passionate kiss.
The world seemed to stop for a moment. Carla stood speechless, her eyes wide and her face flushed. Happy's plan had worked... but only for a few seconds.
With a quick movement, Carla pushed him away and slapped him across the face. Happy fell to the ground, the red mark from the slap clearly visible. But as he got up, he smiled playfully.
Carla, her white fur flushed a deep red from blushing and her breath hitching from Happy's sudden action, looked at him with a mix of anger and confusion. It was unclear whether her face was red from the kiss or from anger.
"What do you think you're doing!" Carla exclaimed, though her voice had lost some of its initial aggression.
Happy rubbed his cheek, but his smile didn't fade. "It was worth it," he said with a wink. Carla looked at him in disbelief, her emotions a complete mess.
She immediately ran outside the guild to calm herself down, and on the way, she ran into Wendy and Lucy. Although they greeted her, she just ignored them and hurried out of the guild.
The girls looked at Carla's strange behavior with curiosity. "Hey Wendy, did Carla have a shade of red on her face?" Lucy asked.
"I was going to ask you the same thing, Lucy-san," replied Wendy, curious about what was wrong with their fellow feline.
Outside the guild
Carla was quite agitated, though still annoyed, there was something about Happy's boldness that she couldn't ignore. As she calmed down, she finally let out a sigh and, though still blushing, her anger seemed to have subsided.
"Idiot Cat!" Carla exclaimed before sitting down on the ground, contemplating the strange emotions she now felt thanks to Happy.
