p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB"It was one of those days, unfortunately. Damp and long, windy all from the moment they set off to finding the space at the next town. They did not look for entertainment, but had one room left, but Thom was not particularly sad to just rest for a change. Especially since Moiraine was also tired with the relentless schedule they kept lately./span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""Do we even want to go down?" she asked after sitting down on the mediocre bed. It was rather narrow for a couple, but they would fit perfectly well. She let out a long breath and slumped. "I have to say this, I'm too tired to eat in the common room today.."/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""Let me get something for us," he said, "and we can eat here before going to sleep."/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB"Thom kissed her on his way out and made it down with not too much trouble. He was more and more glad this evening would be easy. That damn fade left him with a souvenir he was not fond of. He send a quick prayer to the light so that Moiraine might miss how much it bothered him. This was probably too much to ask, but he felt her completely calm for once and it didn't change even when he barely made it up the stairs with a laden tray./span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""Well, that explains a lot," he said, seeing Moraine asleep already on top of the covers. She didn't even take her boots off./span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB"It was a small challenge for him. He stoked the fire, trying not to notice the pain. The tray he put on the small table in the corner, then took his wife's boots and cloak off before undressing himself and laying down to cuddle Moiraine under one of their travel blankets./span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB"#/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB"Moraine woke in the night to Thom trashing. A nightmare. She turned in his arms, noting how they've been sleeping. She must have passed out before he came back. This explained the nightmare. She was barely awake, but she drew from the Source, made weaves and put her hands on his head to help./span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""No need," he mumbled, barely awake. "You've pushed it back already."/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""Do you need healing instead?"/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""No, sleep. You're tired."/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""You're hurting."/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""Not enough to care."/span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB"Light, they had this argument several times already and Thom never let her help. At least the pain was not that bad and he resigned himself to not ask her to mask the bond. She would rather not talk about it again just now. She just cuddled closer back to Thom to be able to hear his heartbeat./span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB"She knew this nightmare and could recognise it ever since Thom confided in her the reason for his wounded knee. It made sense. A Fade was no small feat, but even the bravest still got scared. Even Lan was not casual about it, having fought and killed more than one./span/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"span lang="EN-GB""Thank you for surviving," she said before slipping into sleep. She could only feel Thom pulling her closer before they both succumbed to the land of dreams./span/p
