(Frankie & Nina)

Frankie Rizzoli, a detective at the Boston Police Department, finds himself facing a delicate situation. He has just arrived at a crime scene where a dangerous chemical may have been spilled. He must undergo a decontamination procedure, which involves undressing and taking a decontaminating shower. What makes him even more uncomfortable is that he is not alone in this ordeal. He is accompanied by Nina Holiday, his friend and colleague, who is a crime scene analyst. Nina is an intelligent, competent and charming woman, who dreams of becoming a detective in her own right. She sees this mission as an opportunity to show off her talents in the field, but Frankie sees it differently. He has been secretly in love with her for months, but he has never dared to confess his feelings to her. He fears ruining their friendship, or worse, putting it in danger.

Nina saw Frankie turn pale and asked him:

« Frankie, are you okay? »

Frankie tries to smile and says

« Yes, yes, it's okay, Nina, don't worry »

Nina smiled and said :

« You know, it's not that bad. We'll just take a shower and we'll be rid of this stuff.

Yes I know but...

But what ?

But nothing, forget it.

Frankie, you can talk to me. We're friends, right?

Yes of course.

So what's bothering you?

It's just... it's a bit embarrassing, don't you think?

Why ?

Well, being naked and having to take a shower together…

Ah, that... look, Frankie, I understand that this might make you uncomfortable. But you don't have to worry. We are professionals. We've seen things much worse than this.

Yes, maybe, but...

But what ?

But nothing, forget it.

Frankie, stop saying that. You have something to tell me, so say it.

« Nina...

What ?

I...I love you !»

Frankie bites his lower lip and looks down. He just said the words he had kept to himself for so long. He doesn't know how Nina will react. He is afraid that she will reject him, that she will make fun of him, that she will move away from him. He awaits his verdict with anxiety.

Nina remains silent for a few seconds. She looks at Frankie with surprise and tenderness. She didn't expect this statement. She realizes that she also has feelings for him. She always admired his courage, his humor, his kindness. She always loved spending time with him, laughing with him, working with him. She thinks maybe she missed obvious signs of his love. She thinks maybe she was blind or stupid. She tells herself that perhaps she missed her chance so she makes a decision.

She walks up to Frankie and puts her hand on his cheek and says

«Frankie… I love you too ! »

Nina kisses Frankie softly on the lips then Frankie opens her eyes and smiles.

He hugs her.

He forgets everything else.

He forgets the possibility that there was a chemical spilled.

He forgets to shower.

He forgets the other agents.

He only sees Nina.

He only hears Nina.

They kiss again.

They are happy.

Suddenly they hear clapping and whistling.

They break away from each other and turn towards the source of the noise.

They see the other BPD officers looking at them with mischievous and knowing smiles.

They realize that they were caught kissing.

They blush and feel embarrassed but they regret nothing.

Nina bursts out laughing and says to Frankie:

"No more problems with the shower!" »

She takes his hand and leads him towards the decontamination shower

Frankie follows her, amused and relieved.

He tells himself that he has just experienced the happiest moment of his life.

He tells himself that he is lucky to have Nina.

He tells himself that he loves her passionately and that he made the right choice

He tells himself that he will be happy for the rest of his life.
