(Frankie & Nina)
Nina and Frankie were impatiently awaiting the arrival of their second child, a little girl. Frankie and Nina got married 3 years ago and their first child, a son was born 9 months later and they named him Angelo Richard. Nina would have wanted to call him Francesco but Frankie did not want to and preferred Angelo because it was thanks to his mother that Frankie had found the courage to flirt with Nina.
Frankie and Nina had already thought about several names, but Nina had a very specific idea in mind. One evening after putting her son to bed, Nina returned to the living room and said to her husband after sitting next to him:
« You know, I would really like our daughter to be named Catherine.
We named our son Angelo so I agree to call our daughter Catherine and I'm sure your mother will be delighted."
Nina took her husband's hand and placed it on her belly and said
« As a middle name for our daughter, I would like Francesca. It's a pretty name. »
Frankie was touched by his wife's delicacy, but he hesitated. He answered :
« Francesca? Are you sure ? You know, my father left my mother for Lydia and then he went to Florida and that caused a lot of problems for Ma. »
Nina understood her husband's reaction but she said
« Jane explained everything to me one day and I understand your reaction very well but you invited your father to our wedding, to the baptism and to Angelo's first birthday and each time, he behaved well.
Yes, I invited him and yes he behaved well but I mainly did it for TJ. Vince is a perfect surrogate grandfather for TJ but I figured it would be good for TJ if he saw Pa from time to time and Tommy, Jane and Ma agreed but even though I did that and even if we talk from time to time, I can't imagine giving one of my children their first name
Is that why you didn't want to name our son Francesco III?
Yes. I still have trouble turning the page. »
Nina took her husband's hand and said
"Listen, my love. I am not asking you to forget the past but I am asking you to think about my proposal. Your mother has managed to move on since she married Vince. Your father remains your father and I would so much like you two to reconcile. Calling our daughter Francesca would show that you are ready to take a big step towards him. You were seriously injured once which left you in a coma for three days and your father got cancer. It would be sad if you never fully reconcile"
Frankie hugged his wife and understood what she meant. Nina's father had died of a stroke while Nina was at the Chicago Police Academy and Nina missed him dearly. Nina said in a slightly sad voice:
« You know how much I miss my father and I wish Angelo and our daughter could see their grandfather more often, so they could spend time together. Please Frankie »
Frankie was moved by his wife's words and asked her:
« Do you think Ma would agree to name our daughter Francesca? I don't want it to bring back bad memories
I talked to her about it last night and she said yes and she also thinks it would be a good peace signal to send."
Frankie thought about it and figured Nina was right. He kissed his wife on the forehead then on the mouth and said
« You are a wonderful woman, Nina. You're right, Francesca is a pretty name so I agree. I'll call Pa tomorrow and tell him everything. Catherine Francesca will be our daughter's first name »
Their daughter kicked and Nina asked
« So you like it Catherine Francesca? »
Her daughter gave two knocks and Nina and Frankie started laughing and Frankie said
« Okay, she chose. »
They kissed tenderly, happy with their choice and Frankie told himself once again that he had found the perfect woman.

Yes, I said there would be no deaths in my OS stories and there never will be.
That is to say that ALL the characters we saw in the series will live (even Cavanaugh's family) except of course Hoyt, Alice Sand and perhaps Davies (What do you want, I don't like him really not) but regarding Nina's father, he never appears and neither Catherine Holiday nor Nina talk about him (or I forgot this passage) so we can deduce that he is dead and that would be logical but he will be the only honest character to die in my OS stories but I might bring him to life in another story
