Chapter 34 and the quest continues! Enjoy! Sorry it's a tad late due to the current inbox issues!
The scene transitions to the open savanna. Timon rides on Pumbaa.
TIMON:
Chin up, Pumbaa! [Timon cracks his neck.] Whoa! Our dream home's around here somewhere.
"And it is. They just haven't found it yet." Rafiki chuckled.
PUMBAA:
You know, Timon, I once came across a place that might be just what you're looking for. [Pumbaa's voice is heard over footage of a lush jungle.] Spectacular waterfalls, [The footage shows Pumbaa diving into a pool.] set in a lush tropical oasis. [The footage shows a swarm of grubs.] A scrumptious array of…
"That sounds like it fits your criteria." Ono piped up.
Timon holds up his hands.
TIMON:
Hey, hey, hey. Forget it, Pumbaa. I'm a realist, [Timon hops to the ground.] and I'm not gonna go chasing after some fantasy. [Timon makes a wide, sweeping gesture.] I'm goin' beyond what I see.
PUMBAA:
But if you always go beyond what you see, how do you know when you're there?
"He's got a point." Beshte quipped.
TIMON:
Oh, I'll tell you how I know. We're there!
"I don't think you're there quite yet." Azaad advised.
Timon's voice echoes. He gestures at his surroundings, and it is revealed that he and Pumbaa have wandered into the Elephant Graveyard. Pumbaa stares in awe. The two climb a hill and approach a giant elephant skull.
This is a lovely spot. Lovely, rustic, picturesque. Home, sweet home, Pumbaa. [Timon leans one-handed on one of the elephant tusks.] Mm-hmm. Home, sweet ho... [A chunk of the tusk gives way, and Timon topples inside the hollow bone.] *shouts*
Many animals jumped in their spots. "Definitely too unstable to live in. Not to mention unsettling." Surak shivered.
Timon emerges with cobwebs dangling from his ears.
Whoop! *laughs* [Timon walks toward Pumbaa, dusting himself off.] I-I mean, sure... [Timon crawls onto the other tusk.] It needs a little work, [Timon wraps on the skull.] but it's got good bones. *laughs* After all, [Pumbaa joins Timon on the tusk.] this is an elephant graveyard. And who would ever come to an elephant graveyard?
"Uhh, us, Scar, dumb cubs and their birdie babysitter, a scary lion coming to rescue said cubs, pyromaniac lions in need of fire, elephants about to drop dead, vultures to clean up afterwards, et cetera, et cetera." Shenzi listed.
"Birdie babysitter?!" Zazu spluttered. "Hey, he's the pyromaniac, not me! I just went along with it because I was trained to." Vitani gestured to Nuka.
MUFASA:
[from offscreen] *roars*
Timon and Pumbaa flee into the skull.
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
*scream*
Mufasa charges past, closely followed by Zazu.
ZAZU:
Sire, the hyenas are after the children!
"You guys were there, too? You weren't kidding when you said you were there the whole time." Simba marveled.
SHENZI, BANZAI, AND ED:
[from offscreen] *yip*
MUFASA:
[from offscreen] *roars*
Timon and Pumbaa peek out of the skull's eye sockets. The shadow of Mufasa savagely fighting off the hyenas is seen.
"Lucky. You two practically got a front row seat for that fight." Kiburi grumbled.
TIMON:
I see carnivores…
The scene transitions to the thermal vents in the Elephant Graveyard. Timon rides atop Pumbaa, shielding his eyes. He speaks with a nervous titter.
TIMON:
Beyond what you see. Beyond what you see. *laughs* [Pumbaa hops from rock to rock across a bubbling green pool.] Beyond what you see…
"Uhh, is he okay?" Zuri asked. "Sometimes the geyser gas can make you a little loopy if you breathe too much." Spirit explained. "Well, that explains a lot." Scar rolled his eyes.
PUMBAA:
Uh, Timon? [Pumbaa pauses on the other side of the pool.] Would this be a bad time to bring up that little place I told you about?
Timon hops onto the ground.
TIMON:
Hey! This is home, sweet home, baby! [Timon lounges back on top of a geyser.] Home... [The geyser erupts, and Timon flies into the air.] *screams*
"Ooh!" Many animals wince and rub their rears in sympathy. "Talk about a pain in the butt." Janja hissed.
Timon lands and hops around in pain, his backside steaming.
Ow! Ha, ha! [Timon looks at the geyser.] Steam! *laughs* Steam is good. Steam is-is-is water. Whoo! [Timon prances away.] Gotta have water. You know, for the dream home. Steam home, dream home!
Pumbaa watches Timon go, one eyebrow raised.
Steam, steam, steam. [Timon sits on a nearby rock.] I am perfectly happy [Timon rolls the "r."] right here. [Timon stands.] It's remote, private, no unexpected visitors...
"You were saying?" Kiara raised an eyebrow.
"Be Prepared" plays softly in the background, and the area turns bright yellow. Timon and Pumbaa freeze as the shadows of hyenas goose-stepping march past them on the wall.
Somethin' tells me this ain't the traveling company of "Riverdance."
Timon and Pumbaa hop to their feet and "Riverdance" offscreen. The scene transitions to Timon searching yet again.
Dusty pulled out a banjo and sang "On the road again, goin' places that I've never been. Seein' things that I may never see again. I can't wait to get on the road again."
TIMON:
[snidely] Beyond what you see. Beyond what you... [Timon turns toward the camera and shudders.] Hey, how am I supposed to look beyond what I see [Cut to reveal that Timon is looking at Pumbaa's butt.] beyond that?
Lots of animals groan in disgust and flinch. "My eyes, it burns!" Nuka yelped. "I didn't need to see that!" Kion winced. "Uncle Pumbaa!" Bunga hissed and clapped a paw over Binga's eyes.
Pumbaa looks over one shoulder in confusion.
PUMBAA:
Huh? Oh, sorry.
Pumbaa moves out of the way to reveal the gorge. A choir sings in the background. The scene transitions to Timon and Pumbaa trudging through the gorge, with Timon using Pumbaa's shadow to shield himself from the sun.
"Please tell me I don't have to-" Simba tentatively asked. "Don't worry, this part doesn't show any of you, Mufasa, or Scar." Spirit reassured him, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
TIMON:
What this place lacks in water and shade, [Timon stops walking.] it makes up for with searing heat and blinding sunshine. Home, sweet home, Pumbaa. [The ground rumbles.] *whimpers*
A herd of wildebeests stampedes into the gorge.
PUMBAA:
[with an air of formality] Shall we run for our lives?
"Uh, yes! Please do unless you want to get trampled!" Fuli urged.
TIMON:
Oh, yes, let's.
Timon and Pumbaa turn and run.
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
*scream*
Timon and Pumbaa flee, and the stampede slowly catches up to them. A dust cloud covers the screen, then clears to reveal Timon and Pumbaa on top of a wildebeest. They approach a cliff.
"Uh oh. As if their luck couldn't get any worse." Goigoi groaned.
PUMBAA:
Hang on, Timon!
TIMON:
*gasps* This is it! Goodbye, cruel world!
The wildebeest slides to a stop, and Timon and Pumbaa are thrown off its back. They fly through the air in slow motion.
"I really hope they don't go splat." Makini closed her eyes. "Makini, they're right over there." Binga giggled. "Oh, right."
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
*scream*
Pumbaa does a flip before landing back-first in a river. Timon lands on Pumbaa's stomach.
"Well, that was… anticlimactic." Mufasa admitted. "I do not think it's over for them yet, brother." Scar replied.
TIMON:
*grunts*
Timon and Pumbaa float down the river. Timon gestures to the riverbank.
TIMON:
That's it? *scoffs* That wasn't so bad. [The sound of a waterfall begins to intensify.] You can't knock old Timon down that easy! Yeah! Bring it on!
The sound of a waterfall intensifies further. Timon looks to the right, and the camera pans to reveal a steep waterfall dropoff.
"Uh oh." Dusty said. "Don't tell me- we're about to go over a huge waterfall." Spirit guessed. "Yep." "Sharp rocks at the bottom?" "Most likely." "Bring it on." She finished the line.
Uh, Pumbaa? Question: is it possible to fall off the edge of the Earth?
PUMBAA:
Uh, technically, no. [Timon and Pumbaa float toward the edge of the waterfall.] The Earth is round like a sphere, Timon, so it doesn't actually have an edge.
The camera zooms out several times to reveal a tall waterfall. Timon and Pumbaa fall off the waterfall.
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
*scream*
Pumbaa pauses the movie.
"Oh come on! Why'd they leave us hanging right as they were going over a cliff?" Baliyo grumbled. Spirit and Dusty failed to stifle their giggles.
PUMBAA:
You mind if I pause it for a second?
TIMON:
Sure, go ahead.
PUMBAA:
Be right back.
Pumbaa walks offscreen. Timon stretches.
TIMON:
*sighs contentedly* [Timon's back cracks. He scratches his ear.] *sniffs* *clears throat* *hums "It's a Small World"* IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL. [Timon dances in his seat.] IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL. [Timon's dancing intensifies.] IT'S A SMALL, SMALL WORLD. EVERYBODY. IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL. [A toilet flushes in the background.] Da, da, da, da, da, da, da.
"Oh, I hate this song." Scar groaned and put his paws over his ears. "Honestly it is kind of annoying." Spirit admitted. "Agreed." Her brother concurred.
Timon picks his nose. He looks offscreen.
TIMON:
*gasps*
Timon looks around frantically. He tries to shake his booger off his finger, then scrapes it off on a chair. Pumbaa walks back onscreen holding a bag of grubs.
Several animals were grossed out by Timon's booger.
PUMBAA:
Okay. I got the jumbo so we can share. [Pumbaa sets down the bag of grubs. He looks suspiciously at Timon.] Were you just picking your nose?
TIMON:
[indignantly] No! [Timon reaches into the bag for a grub.] I had an itch on the inside. [Timon grabs a grub and pops it in his mouth.] *crunches*
"Sure, Timon." Kovu smirked.
Timon resumes the movie. Timon and Pumbaa continue to fall down the waterfall.
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
[fading] *scream*
The scene transitions to a river at night. Pumbaa bursts out of the water and swims toward land. He emerges from the water with Timon hanging on to his tail with one hand. Pumbaa walks further onto land.
"That must have been a rough ride." Ullu winced. "Oh it was. I thought we were gonna die at some points." Timon confirmed.
PUMBAA:
*gasps*
Timon lets go of Pumbaa's tail. Pumbaa falls over and coughs up water. He looks to the left, where Timon is laying on the ground, holding a flower. Pumbaa approaches him.
"Oh no, is he dead?" Cheezi asked. "Can we eat him?" Chungu added. "Fur-brains, he's right over there!" Janja groaned. "Oh right."
PUMBAA:
Timon, you okay?
TIMON:
Ugh. I give up.
PUMBAA:
Uh, but you can't give up. We still haven't found our dream home.
"Yeah, you can't just give up now. You came all this way, from your colony to Pride Rock to the elephant graveyard and even to the gorge." Beshte chimed in. "We never gave up on our journey to the Tree of Life, and neither should you." Ono added.
TIMON:
Forget it, Pumbaa. I've been dragging you down long enough. I'm going home, and I suggest you do the same.
PUMBAA:
Oh, I-I would if I could, but I can't.
"I can imagine why." Zira snarked.
TIMON:
Oh, sure you can, buddy. I won't stop you.
Timon looks at Pumbaa uncertainly.
PUMBAA:
No, I mean... [Pumbaa looks away.] I don't have a home.
"No one wanted me around because of my gas." Pumbaa explained.
Pumbaa begins to walk away. Timon looks up.
TIMON:
You don't? What happened? [Timon sits up. Pumbaa sits down with his back to Timon.] Are you lost? [Pumbaa shakes his head.] No place good enough for you? [Pumbaa shakes his head. Timon throws his flower aside.] What, you're all alone in this big empty world?
Pumbaa looks over one shoulder with tears in his eyes.
"Oh, Pumbaa…" Nala breathed.
Oh. [Timon stands up and walks over to Pumbaa's hunched form.] The truth is...I'm all alone too. [Pumbaa looks down at Timon. Timon grabs Pumbaa's leg.] Pumbaa, you're the only friend I've ever had.
Pumbaa turns toward Timon hopefully.
PUMBAA:
Y-you mean…
TIMON:
Yeah, Pumbaa… and friends stick together to the end.
"That's true." Bunga quipped. Many animals smiled as they thought of their own friends and the bonds they shared.
Timon and Pumbaa smile at each other. Crying sounds are heard. The camera zooms in on Pumbaa's eyes, where Timon's reflection is visible. Timon pauses the movie. He attempts to muffle his crying.
PUMBAA:
Timon, are you crying?
TIMON:
[sobbing] I'm fine. [Timon turns away from Pumbaa and continues crying.] I–I just have something in my eye.
"Aw, Timmy. It's okay if you cry." Ma soothed to her son's embarrassment.
Pumbaa proffers a handkerchief.
PUMBAA:
Here, blow.
Timon grabs the handkerchief and blows his nose. He hands it back to Pumbaa.
TIMON:
Here, Pumbaa.
"I don't think he wants that back now." Jasiri grimaced.
Pumbaa looks at the handkerchief in disgust.
PUMBAA:
Gee, thanks.
TIMON:
Okay, I'm better.
Timon resumes playing the movie. The scene transitions to the night sky with a full moon. A shooting star flies by. The camera pans down to show Timon and Pumbaa sleeping against one another. The sun rises. Timon wakes up and stands up. He stretches, and his back cracks.
TIMON:
Uh! Uh! Ooh! Ah, well. [Pumbaa begins to wake up.] It's too bad we never found that perfect place. [Pumbaa wakes up fully and looks forward. Whatever he sees surprises him.] Why'd we ever listen to that stupid monkey?
"Hey!" Rafiki yelled, and promptly whacked Timon. "Ow!"
Pumbaa sits up.
PUMBAA;
I think maybe you're giving up too soon, Timon.
TIMON:
Beyond what you see. Huh?
Pumbaa grabs Timon's head and turns it. The camera pans to show a jungle paradise.
"They found it! Just when they were about to call it quits." Madoa exclaimed.
PUMBAA:
Remember that place I told you about?
TIMON:
Forget about your place. Get a load of what I found! Talk about beyond what you see. Pumbaa, this is our dream home.
"They're right this time. It's beautiful and just what they were looking for." Ullu commented.
Timon pulls back a curtain of leaves from in front of the waterfalls in the style of a game show.
Dramatic views. [Cut to Pumbaa hanging from some vines belly up.] Your very own porch swing. [Cut to Timon and Pumbaa in a bubbling pool.] Hot tub and spa. [Cut to Timon opening the trunk of a tree filled with grubs.] Well-stocked cupboard.
"This must be just like livin' in paradise! And I don't want to go home!" Dusty and Spirit sang.
Pumbaa walks over.
PUMBAA:
*slurps* [Pumbaa licks up the grubs and begins munching on them.] Let's celebrate!
Pumbaa swallows. Cut to Timon lying in a hammock.
TIMON:
The monkey was right. [Timon stands up.] We found it: the perfect life.
"You see? Old Rafiki knows the way!" Rafiki cackled.
Timon leans backward and falls into the water. Cut to Pumbaa making a shish kebab out of grubs.
PUMBAA:
I'll just whip up a little something.
Timon emerges from the water. He grabs a leaf and uses it as a towel.
TIMON:
He had the perfect name for it too.
Pumbaa shakes up a grub salad.
PUMBAA:
Come and get it.
The insectivores' mouths watered at the sight of the tasty grubs.
Timon leans against a rock table.
TIMON:
Such a wonderful phrase. It had this rhythm. Laduda ladada.
Pumbaa holds out a leaf dish.
PUMBAA:/TIMON:
Try this: hot tuna frittata./Hmm. No, that's not it.
"Close, but no." Azaad chuckled.
Pumbaa sets down another bowl of grubs.
PUMBAA:/TIMON:
The spinach armada./Quiet, Pumbaa. I'm trying to think.
Pumbaa sets down a coconut filled with grub mush.
PUMBAA:
A spoon of ricotta.
"Not quite right." Sarafina chuckled.
Timon holds up two fingers.
TIMON:
Two words.
Pumbaa sets down a leaf bowl filled with worms.
PUMBAA:/TIMON:
A wormy piccata./Six syllables.
"Delicious, but incorrect." Ono licked his beak.
Timon stands. Pumbaa sets down a snail shell filled with grub mush.
PUMBAA:/TIMON:
Kahuna colada./Twelve letters.
Pumbaa sets down a steaming leaf of blue grubs.
PUMBAA:/TIMON:
A blue enchilada./Rhymes with–
"That's not it either." Ora grumbled.
Pumbaa holds out a bowl of grubs.
PUMBAA:
Legumes on a platter.
"Still wrong." Shupavu rolled her eyes.
Timon taps his head.
TIMON:
Think, think, think, think...
Pumbaa pokes at one of the dishes.
PUMBAA:/TIMON:
This ought to be hotter./I forget!
Pumbaa starts to dance.
PUMBAA:
I got to lambada!
"Now's really not the best time for a dance break when he's trying to think." Zazu advised.
Pumbaa bumps into Timon, who grabs him by the tusks.
Timon Hey, how can you dance at a time like this?! I'm dying here. [Timon looks abashed and backs away.] Ooh, sorry about that, pal.
Pumbaa stands up.
PUMBAA:
Hakuna matata.
"And there it is." Sahasi stated dramatically.
Timon shakes his head in confusion. A cartoonish "obbidy-obbidy-obbidy" sound effect is heard.
TIMON:
Come again?
PUMBAA:
Hakuna matata. It means "no worries." Uh... Oh.
Timon and Pumbaa exchange incredulous looks. Cut to Timon and Pumbaa swinging on vines. The movie pauses mid-swing.
PUMBAA:
[voiceover] Hey, Timon. I got an idea. Let's do a sing-a-long.
"Anyone who wants to, feel free to join in!" Dusty announced.
A ladybug appears onscreen.
TIMON:
[voiceover] Oh, you tease. I love karaoke. I'm there.
The lyrics of "Hakuna Matata" appear on the bottom of the screen. The ladybug hops from syllable to syllable above the lyrics as the song continues.
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
HAKUNA MATATA! [Cut to Timon and Pumbaa lying in the grass and dancing.] WHAT A WONDERFUL PHRASE. [Cut to Timon and Pumbaa making coconut drinks.] HAKUNA MATATA! [Cut to Pumbaa running through the jungle, with Timon riding in his mane.] AIN'T NO PASSIN' CRAZE.
The ladybug disappears. Cut to Timon and Pumbaa swinging on vines.
"Wait, where'd the bug go?" Banzai asked. "I have a guess." Shenzi replied.
TIMON:
IT MEANS NO WORRIES [Crunching sounds are heard. The camera zooms out to show the silhouettes of Timon and Pumbaa in the theater. Timon is singing into a microphone, while Pumbaa chews loudly.] FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAYS. Wait a second.
Timon looks around and pauses the movie.
Pumbaa, where's the grub? [Pumbaa opens his mouth, and the ladybug stumbles out of it.] *sighs* Oh, you just can't help yourself, can you?
"Always thinking with his stomach." Zazu shook his head.
PUMBAA:
Sorry.
TIMON:
Okay, but this time, show a little self-control.
Timon plays the movie. Cut to Timon and Pumbaa going down a water flume. The ladybug appears onscreen again and stumbles across the lyrics as the song continues.
"That looks quite fun!" Nirmala spoke up.
TIMON:
HAKUNA MATATA!
Cut to Timon and Pumbaa bungee-jumping on vines. They begin to plummet toward the jungle floor.
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
*scream*
Timon and Pumbaa bob on the vines just before hitting the ground. They begin to swing back and forth, and Timon bumps the ladybug off the screen mid-swing.
"And there goes the bug again." Chuluun deadpanned.
IT MEANS NO WORRIES [Pumbaa swings and bumps into Timon. Cut to Timon and Pumbaa floating through the air on leaf parachutes.]FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAYS. IT'S OUR PROBLEM-FREE [Cut to Timon and Pumbaa eating worms. They each eat an end of a worm until their mouths meet a la Lady and the Tramp.] PHILOSOPHY. [Timon and Pumbaa look at the camera in disgust.] HAKUNA MATATA!
Many animals present were also disgusted. "Oh this is the night. It's a beautiful night. And we call it bella notte." Dusty sang. "Really?" Spirit asked. "What? It's perfect for this part." "Fair enough.'
Cut to Timon and Pumbaa dancing across a log.
MATATA, HAKUNA, MATATA, HAKUNA, MATATA, HAKUNA, MATATA, HAKUNA, MATATA, HAKUNA, MATATA, HAKUNA, MATATA!
The scene transitions. Ma stares in dismay.
MA:
Hahuna ma-what-a?
"Hakuna matata. We just sang a whole song about it." Bunga helpfully pointed out.
Rafiki kneels on the ground next to Ma, who is standing on the sentry rock.
RAFIKI:
Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho! It means "no worries."
MA:
I see.
RAFIKI:
So, I told the boy: to find Hakuna Matata, [Rafiki gestures to the horizon.] you must look beyond what you see.
"You've been saying that this whole time! Enough already!" Kiburi complained.
MA:
Oh, a metaphor.
RAFIKI:
Well, actually, it's not a meta– [Ma whacks Rafiki on the head with his staff.] Ah!
"How'd it feel being on the other end of your staff for once?" Simba smirked.
Ma grabs Rafiki by the beard and pulls him in close.
MA:
You used a metaphor on Timon? He takes things literally! [Ma lets go of Rafiki's beard and starts gesturing wildly.] That's it. [Ma walks away from Rafiki.] He's starving out there. I just know it. [Ma approaches a meerkat hole and calls down into it.] Max, Timon's out there chasing metaphors! I've got to go find him!
UNCLE MAX:
[from offscreen] Are you nuts?!
"Way to care about your nephew, Max." Zuri snarked.
MA:
[to Rafiki] Nice to have a supportive family, isn't it? Well, here I go.
Rafiki holds up one finger.
RAFIKI:
Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.
MA:
Thanks. Here's my first step.
Ma jumps onto Rafiki's foot. The scene transitions.
"Nice one, Ma!" Timon complimented.
TIMON:
Yeow! [Pumbaa pulls porcupine quills out of Timon's backside.] Ay!
Pumbaa holds a quill in his mouth.
Many animals winced at this. Porcupine quills were never fun to remove.
PUMBAA:
This bowling for porcupines [Pumbaa spits out the quill.] wasn't the best idea, huh?
TIMON:
Yeah. Got to be right up there with bobbing for snapping turtles. [Pumbaa pulls out another quill offscreen.] Ah, ha, ha!
"That's what you get for messing with us porcupines!" Smun gloated.
Pumbaa holds a quill in his mouth. He examines Timon's backside.
PUMBAA:
Oh, that's gonna leave a mark. [Vulture caws are heard. Pumbaa looks offscreen and spits out the quill.] Hey, look, Timon. Buzzards! [Pumbaa walks away. In a nearby desert, a parliament of vultures circles a limp body.] What do you say? One more round?
"Is that…?" Tiifu asked. "As Anga would say, yup." Spirit confirmed.
TIMON:
Oh, sure. There must be some part of me we haven't injured yet.
Pumbaa trembles with excitement.
PUMBAA:
Oh, please? Oh, please? Oh, please? Oh, please? Oh, please? Oh, please?
"Come on, Timon, you can't say no to that." Kopa teased.
Timon stretches and strides deeper into the jungle.
TIMON:
Nah, Pumbaa, I'm beat. You go ahead. I'm calling it a day. [Timon pulls the last quill out of his backside.] Ay!
Pumbaa's face falls.
PUMBAA:
But it's no fun alone. [Pumbaa stares longingly at the vultures.] *whimpers*
Pumbaa starts to follow Timon. Suddenly, Timon jumps into Pumbaa's mane.
TIMON:
Awww, why not? [Timon grabs Pumbaa's ears like they're reins.] One more run won't change our lives.
"Except it did, because I'm guessing this is when you found Simba?" Anga asked. "Yep!" Pumbaa confirmed.
Timon and Pumbaa begin charging toward the vultures. The movie pauses.
TIMON:
[voiceover] Who knows why fate led us to little Simba that day?
"Don't look at us. We had no control over it." Mufasa threw up his paws. "But Timon, Pumbaa… thank you for taking care of Simba during his exile and being there for him when Sarabi and I couldn't."
"You're welcome!" Pumbaa replied. "Yeah, no problem." Timon added.
Cut to a still of Pumbaa holding Simba in his tusks while Timon clings to Pumbaa's ears worriedly.
Maybe it was just my love of adventure... [Cut to a still of Simba roaring and Timon jumping in fear.] or my innate courage...
Cut to a still of Simba licking Timon, who is reaching out for help.
"Courage, sure." Makucha snarked, promptly being hit by Makini.
my valiant [Cut to a still of Simba pinning Timon.] and fearless way [Cut to a still of Simba yawning and Timon jumping in fear.] of...
Cut to a still of Simba's shadow engulfing Timon, who is cornered against a rock.
Okay, who's [Cut to a still of Timon standing in fear. Simba's teeth ring the screen.] in [Cut to a still of Timon hanging on to a branch in fear.] charge of [Cut to a still of Timon screaming while leaning against Pumbaa's rear.] the [Cut to a still of Timon screaming.] freeze-frames?!
Everyone was laughing at all the freeze-frames, much to Timon's chagrin.
PUMBAA:
[voiceover] Sorry.
TIMON:
[voiceover] Anywho... [Cut to a still of Timon and Pumbaa standing in front of Simba's unconscious body. The movie unpauses.] Rescuing Simba was a cinch. [Pumbaa picks up Simba in his tusks and walks toward the jungle.] Then came the really scary part... [Dramatic music is heard.] parenthood.
"Parenthood can be scary at times, especially the first time around." Sarabi reasoned. Many parents present agreed. "I wasn't sure if I would do things right at first, but luckily I had my mother and Sarabi as well as the other lionesses to guide me. Simba, on the other paw, was a nervous wreck. It took Timon, Pumbaa, and his mother to calm him down when I was in labor with Kopa." Nala added.
"I didn't know if I could be as good of a father as my own." He admitted. "You are." Kiara smiled, and all three siblings nuzzled their dad.
That's all for now! See you guys next time for Intermission 4, and then Timon and Pumbaa's adventures in cub-raising! Oh, and the author of Tyrant's Roar(Irish Author) is doing a Q and A story, so if you've got any questions for them go on over and get 'em answered!
