Author Note:
First off, there will be no Rimuru.
Second: Pairing is undecided. Maybe there will be a single pairing. Maybe there will be no pairing at all. Or maybe it will be a harem. I don't truly know(I know, I just don't want to reveal it just yet).
Third: I don't think I will ever update my other stories, so I'm sorry about that.
Fourth: I will make some additions to the world-building of That Time I Got Reincarnated as A Slime and add new races. I have been playing Dungeon and Dragons and studying its lore lately , so i have come up with some great ideas for this story.
Fifth: You may me this question: "Is this story going to be like canon?" The answer to that is yes and no.
Sixth: The woman that Madara saved in the last chapter is not his harem, so please, everyone, don't worry. They just have a part to play in the story and to "guide" Madara whilst serving as his personal Information-Gathering-Wikipedia(lol).
Anyway, enjoy!
"[Chapter 4: The Battle at The Goblin Village!]"
Emotions.
One can't do much about it, but it can do so much for the one being affected by it. Emotions are the ones that often cloud our minds, causing us to move to our instinct's dictations. It can either be good or bad or right or wrong, but it still is a major determinant of why we do such things.
It's the same for anyone and everyone who has a mind and a heart. People for one are too exposed to these emotions, thus making them vulnerable. Sometimes, the effects can last for such a long time, driving our sanity to its limit.
He opened his eyes, squirming inside the liquid he floated in. He could hear muted sounds around him. All the liquid made it hard to hear anything. It was all he had ever really known.
Maybe there was a time before this, but he didn't remember it. All of a sudden, that changed. A new sensation almost made him flail. He could feel something different in his body.
He was being touched.
Grabbed.
Lifted.
It was decidedly different from what he was accustomed to, andalusia the Goblins and his arms, and he didn't understand what was going on.
Crushed.
Looked down upon.
Ah, yes. He remembers this feeling very clearly.
Pain.
Guilt.
Sadness.
Betrayal.
Despair.

"You're not doing this for us! You're doing this for your self-interest - you devil!"
"Just admit it. You're just a greedy bastard looking out for your good!"
"Selfish!"
"Monster!"
"Devil!"
"You stole your own brother's eyes to save your skin and heighten your reputation and power - you're a disgrace to our clan!"
"That's not true! I'm doing this for Uchiha's safety! All for the Uchiha Clan!"
"No one believes in you - you delusional, power-hungry freak.
"Liar!"
"Manipulator!"
"Fiend!"
-
"NOOOOOO! I'm not a monster! I'm not a monster! I'm not a monster! I swear I was doing it for the sake of our clan! Why doesn't anybody understand?! Why?!"
A hand shot up towards his face, grasping the temples slightly due to the sudden ache that had been brought about by a nightmare.
A cold sweat descended his brow as he tried regaining his breath. Somehow, the man found himself panting as if he had run a few miles or so without stopping. In reality, the man was just sleeping.
Tears made their way down his cheeks and fell into the white blanket that was covering him.
"Hmph. A dream? Me? Seriously? You have to be joking. How long has it been since I even had a dream?" Madara asked himself as a low chuckle escaped his lips. "... It doesn't matter anyway.
A memory from bygone days that turned into bland yore.
A memory he wished he wouldn't ever remember, the aftermath of his brothers death.
But fate wasn't kind, as life taught him the hard way so he wouldn't dare to forget its first-ever teaching, death wasn't kind. That curse known as death had taken Izuna, the last of his siblings away from them, from him.
Thinking nothing more of it, he rose from up his futon and looked to his left at the females he had saved as they slept soundly - well, except one... Sylphy.
"Maybe she is outside?" He asked himself as he slid the door of the house he had created last night using [Wood Style] carefully, not wanting to make noise.
After getting outside, he closed the door behind him as carefully as he had opened it.
He turned around and stretched his arms whilst a yawn came out of his mouth as he was greeted by the beautiful view of the lake and the one who was bathing in the lake - Sylphy
Madara simply ignored her and left her on her own business as he sat down beneath the shadow of a tree, falling on his own thoughts.
His crimson predatory-like eyes scanned the surrounding area, searching for any possible dangers, but to his surprise, he didn't pick anything at all.
Whilst looking around, his eyesight landed on a dead flower in front of him - [Unique Skill: Lord Of Greed - Activated! Angel's Feather!] - so, he simply extended an arm towards it as a beautiful blue aura wrapped around his arm and the flower.
The flower opened its petals as it slowly started to regain its vitality and return to its former glory, revealing a type of flower he had known too well.
A special type of flower that could only be found on the tops of mountain ranges on the Land of Fire that bloomed only once every three years. A [White Spider Lily] - his, and his mother's favourite flower.
Madara simply chuckled, "So this one of [Lord Of Greed] abilities? [Angel's Feather] - huh? It seems to be quite useful in combat.
His Unique Skill; [Lord Of Greed] had eight different abilities.
Its main ability was called "[Hunter's Feast]" - the Yin part was an ability that allowed the user to temporarily siphon the Magicules from others in their vicinity and the atmosphere. This drain weakened the users' opponents while simultaneously transferring the stolen Magicules into the user's reservoir of Magicules, further augmenting their ability to accumulate their Magicules
The second ability was called "[Angel's Feather]" - the Yang part of the ability that allowed the user to transfer his Magicules, Stamina, and Vitality from his reservoir to an animal, plant, or human being. Something like Charge and Release.
Although all eight of them were different types of Abilities, from what Madara had gathered, they all seemed to use "[Hunter's Feast]" as its base for them to activate.
"Hmm~~~ What's this?" He felt something was off in the surrounding vicinity, but whatever it was, it didn't seem to harbour Ill intent.
Madara rose and adopted a fighting position immediately, just in case they could hide their intent to a high degree.
He looked to his right only to gaze upon some weird-looking green creatures.
"Was I so captured by my thoughts that I didn't even notice them? Or are they so weak that my Sage Mode sensing abilities didn't even consider it a threat? Either way... I need to be careful.
In front of him appeared around 20 green human-shaped looking creatures.
Frail and small body frames.
Half destroyed equipment.
Behind their messy hair, they had an expression that lacked intelligence.
Nevertheless, he couldn't say that they were completely unintelligent. Some fellows carried swords and shields, stone axes, or bows among them.
Not only were their swords full of rust, but even their defensive equipment was tattered. There are even some that only wore ragged clothes.
The lizard possessed the tough shell and the spider that possessed sharp limbs.
From the viewpoint of him who had defeated those demons, it would be impossible for these fellows' equipment to do any damage to him.
Also, even if worse comes to the worst, he can just use his Perfect Sussano'o and be done with it...
As he relaxed and watched them from afar, a leader-like goblin spoke.
"Good day, strong one... Ahead of here, do you have any business?"
The green creature talked.
"Yes, I do.
Madara spoke with a tone that let out complete authority, and the green creatures immediately fell to their knees, lowering their head and shaking with fear.
Madara, surprised by their action, lowered his guard and crossed his arms.
"If it is not disrespectful of me to ask o' Strong One, what is it that you wish to do?"
"Strong One? Me? So, in their eyes, I'm considered strong? But compared to Veldora, I'm nothing. Or is Veldora one of those cases that he is considered truly a "God-like" being in this world?" Madara wondered. "Anyway, I am glad to find out that they are not a threat.
"I have a question for you first - what are you? I have never seen your kind in my life.
"Our race is called "Goblins" o' Strong One. We are Demi-Humans and one of many races that inhabit the [Great Forest Of Jura]. Through its weird that you haven't seen one of us before. We are the most common of all Demi-Humans.
"I understand. Im just not from here. Then, to answer your question: What I'm trying to do now is to find a place for myself and my female "companions." You see, they are quite close to going into labour, and I need a safe, warm, and welcoming place for the children to be born in.
The Goblins looked at each other, coming up with an idea to get out of their current predicament with some Direwolfs that had been attacking their village.
"We and our Village Elder would be thrilled to invite you and your companions into our Village, 'o Strong One." One of the Goblins said, his head still touching the ground from the intense fear. "But with one condition, if you don't mind.
Madara scratched his imagery beard and pondered on the Goblin's words. "Village Elder, he said, huh? That could prove useful in order to get some information from someone of age who has an understanding of the world. Alright then, I shall go along and hear them out on their condition." He thought before speaking up. "Go on then, state your condition.
"Our village has been lately attacked on several occasions by some Direwolfs, and we have been unable to fend them off. Many of us have died, and many of us are injured in the village. My wish is for you to simply fend them off.
"Is that it? I can surely take care of that, so consider it done." Madara said calmly, making the Goblins relax a little bit.
Madara quickly turned his head towards the lake and spoke with Sylphy telepathically.
"Sylphy.
"What is it, my lord?"
"Wake up the others, Sylphy. we are heading out and going into a more comfortable place to rest... And please be more careful next time when you go out of my presence again... Dangerous monsters could be lurking around, and I wouldn't be able to look after you and the children.
"Understood, my Lord. Thank you for worrying about me.
Madara watched as Sylphy slowly dressed up and sighted.
He then turned around and saw one of the Goblins pointing a finger at Sylphy, looking at her as if he saw a ghost.
"Can I ask a question o' Strong One? Is that woman a [Red Flame Angel]? A Subspecies of the [Flame Angel]?" The Goblin asked, his body shaking.
"Yes? What of it?"
"Wait... Does that mean you don't know?"
"Know what?" Madara asked.
"Well, to my knowledge, they are supposed to be extinct. It has been thirty-eight years since we have last seen them.
"I see," Madara said. "An almost extinct race, huh? So they are kinda like me. Interesting.
"We are ready, my Lord," Sylphy spoke softly from behind him.
Madara watched as all of them approached him slowly, whistle rubbing their eyes and yawning slightly.
Madara turned towards the Goblins and spoke: "Lead the way then.
The leader of the Goblins nodded and started walking towards East.
Madara and the rest simply followed suit.
"Sylphy?"
"Yes, my lord?"
"When we arrive at their settlement, I will ask you some questions, and I expect you to answer them thoroughly." Madara said.
"Yes, my lord." Sylphy said, nodding her head.
Along the way, Madara got to hear a bit of the local gossip. It turned out the god they worshipped had recently disappeared. Without it, the local monsters had started acting up a lot more than before. At the same time, more human adventurers - "powerful ones," as they put it-were starting to invade the forest. And so on.
And funnily enough, the more they spoke to each other, the more clearly Madara began to understand them. It must have been his [World Translating Language] skill getting more accustomed to. However, the goblin language was wending its way through the particles in the air.
After about half an hour of walking, they had arrived at their Goblins settlement.
The settlement was "shockingly" garbage. Maybe he shouldn't have expected much from a goblin's settlement.
They guided Madara to what he supposed was the most structurally sound of the buildings. It had a thatched, pitted roof that was rotting away in areas, the walls bearing nothing but a few pieces of flat wood nailed to them. No slum he had ever seen in his world - even in the [Warring States Period] - could out-filth this one.
"I am sorry to keep you waiting, honoured guest," one of the goblins said as he entered. The leader of the expeditionary force he ran into earlier accompanied him.
"All of you, sit down," spoke Madara, his voice filled with authority.
Sylphy and the others sat down on the dirty floor.
"I apologize we can not provide you more hospitality," the goblin said as he brought out something resembling tea for Madara. "I am the elder of this village.
Madara took a sip on the teacup and he swallowed down carefully being cautious off poison, but thankfully he didn't detect any poison, but reportedly it bore a bitter, acrid flavor, probably no sugar or maybe it was something else entirely.
"I guessed as much. So, why are these creatures attacking you. Even brainless animals would never attack something unprovoked. So, tell me, old man, what did you do to rile them up?" Madara asked with a smirk.
The village elder shivered a bit. Then, firming up his resolve, he turned to Madara.
"We have done nothing of the sort 'O Strong One. I trust you have heard that the monsters have been more active around here as of late?"
"Indeed, i have." Madara lied with a straight face. "The reason being?"
"Our Divine Protecer, Lord Veldora has protected the peace in this land for generations, but about a month ago, he vanished from the cave that has immprisoned him for three hundred years. That has allowed the nearby monsters to start meddling with our lands once more. We do not wish to let this continue, so we have fought back... But from a raw-power perspective, we face an uphill climb.
"I see. I understand. I shall take care of them for you, but do not think for a second that i will do this for free. So, what do you offer in return?" Madara asked while smirking.
The Village Elder looked at his companios, and they nodded at each other before giving Madara his answer; "We are but lowly Goblings 'O Strong One. We have nothing to offer but our hospitality and our... Loyalty." The Village Elder said as he and the rest of his companions lowered their head to the ground, bowing in front of Madara.
Madara simply smirked even further, his smirk threatening to split his face in half. It was all but a ploy - his ploy - in order to get them indebted to him. He would become their "saviour," and they would be eternally indebted to him.
But this went a lot smother he had anticipaited.
Madara stood at the front of the room, his eyes piercing and authoritative as he looked out at the sea of loyal faces before him. He knew that he had their full attention, their unwavering trust, and he relished in it. They had all gathered here for one reason - his promise to rid them of the looming threat that lurked on the horizon.
As he began to speak, his words were carefully chosen, each one crafted to manipulate and control. He knew that these Goblins were putty in his hands, eager for his guidance and willing to do whatever it took to ensure their safety. And he was more than happy to use this to his advantage.
"I see. I shall accept your offer. I shall head out tonight. I shall expect great things from you in the future.
The Goblins nodded and rose up, leaving Madara and his companions on the tent, by themselves's.
Madara turned his attention at the woman who stood nearest to him; Sylphy.
"Now then. It is time for you to answer some questions off mine, Sylphy.
Sylphy nodded before she spoke; "Ask to your heart desires, my lord.
"The Goblin that i met on the forest said that the last off your kind was seen thirty-eight years ago... is there any reason for that?"
Sylphy lowered her head, not wanting to give away the sectrets of their tribe, but this man was the person who saved her and her friends from the hands of those monsters who had taken her chasity and family away from her. She would willinglly do anything this man asks off her.
"You see, my lord, about fourty years ago, we used to live in peace at the other side of the world. On a continent, long forgotten by history - the continent off G-G-Gritonia." Said Sylphy while holding back tears as memories of when she was young started coming back and hitting her like a train wreck.
Memories she wished she had long forgotten, "...However," she continued; "A War that lasted almost two years erupted. The Eastern Empire declared war on us unprovoked. Since we had long forgotten our battle instinct's because of our peace-like-lifestyle, they made quick work of us. They hunted us to almost extintion. Only two hundred off us survived. We fled from Gritonia and relocated to the Barren Lands at the edge of this continent, far away from civilization, trying to rebuild our race while at the same time staying hidden from the eyes that wanted to harm us. The world thought we had gone extinct, and that was for the betterment of us, until a year ago, one of our comrades was captured by a merchant and sold into slavery. It wasn't long before the Eastern Empire got their hands on him - they extracted every information out of him about our location. Soon enough, the obvious outcome happened. They deployed their forces and attacked us. We were tortured, raped several times a day nonstop for over a year. Even after they impregnated us, they didn't s-s-stop. They continued to thrash on our houner as a woman, and they took our chasity.
It was at this point that she couldn't hold back her tears anymore, and she broke down, letting her tears flow down for the first time in months.
She had been too afraid to cry during the torture, fearing for her life.
Madara, for the first time in many decades, had been dumbstruck. He didn't know how to process this at all.
He knew that this was war, and he was no stranger off it, and its aftermath, but this was going too far, even for somebody off his calibre. Madara was no stranger to death as well, but at least he killed his enemies swiftly and quietly, not even allowing them to process what had happened.
This was going too far. How can these creatures even call themselves humans after this?
And yet he wasn't able to give a reaction at all. He wasn't suited for these situations situations at all. He was but an empty husk of his young self, devoid of emotion.
"[Go on, say something , my friend]"
"[I don't even know what to say Veldora, my old friend; Hashirama would have been more suited for these situations. He was more of a comforting type.]"
"[You are you, and your friend is your friend. You are two separate beings. If you continue to compare yourself to him, you will never grow out of this empty husk.]"
Madara pondered on Veldora's words before speaking, "[Indeed, you are right. Honestly, I didn't think you possessed this level of intelligence, Veldora.]"
"[Oiiii! What do you mean by that?!!! I'm pretty smart. I'll have you know that!!!]" Veldora screamed his lungs out before Madara cut the telepathic link with Veldora.
Madara stared right at Sylphy before he rose up, approaching her slowly. He then lowered himself on one knee and wrapped his arms around her. It reminded him of when he used to do this to his younger brothers when they would get hurt or cry.
"Listen here, Slyphy, i may not have the correct words to use in these kinds of situations... but i swear upon my hounor as an Uchiha that i will do the impossible to make all of your lives better." Madara grabbed Sylphy from the chin before continuing; "From now on, all of you are under my protection. Nothing will ever ever happen to none of you, not even as much as a scratch.
Sylphy looked at him and simply buried her head in his chest, bralwling her eyes out.
Some time passed, and her crying had muffled out. She had fallen asleep on his embrace. Finally, for the first time in months, she had fallen asleep without worrying about what tomorrow would hold in store for her.
Madara lowered Sylphy on the floor slowly, leaving her at the hands of her friends while he headed outside.
Coming slowly out of the tent with his arms crossed, Madara noticed that night had fallen and the attacers had finally arrived. He could sense all of them with [Sage Mode]. They were surrounding the village in all directions. It would seem they possessed some level of intelligence.
"Maybe they could be reasoned with?" he thought, "I could make them fall into submission and serve me. Hmm. That is good. That is all i will do. They do seem pretty strong, after all. Probably Chunin Level? Yes, it would seem so. Although one of them does seem to be at a Jonin Level. Haa, this is world crazy. Even a wolf is this powerful. Insane.
Madara simply couldn't believe it. How did this worlds creatures grow so powerful?
"O Strong One! 'O Strong One! The Direwolfs are here! We are under attack!" A Goblin came running towards him while screaming.
Madara prepared and walked towards the exit of the village.
Leaping out from the shadows of the dark forest was a flood of figures who appeared to be Wolfs. Within that darkness, the countless fiery red eyes shone threateningly, reflecting the little light that was left. Their numbers were so plentiful that someone normal would have been left comlitly pretifie, but he wasn't just anyone. He was Madara Uchiha; the "Cheater of Death."
"[Creation OF All Things!]"
A long Katana appeared in Madara's hand as he approached the Direwolfs slowly.
"Who is the leader?" A boming voice asked.
"I am. What do you want, human?" A majestic wolf appeared from the shadow off the night, interducing himself, his voice filled with arrogance.
"I have a suggestion. Lower your head to the ground in submission or face the consequences of your decision." Madara said, his Sharingan flearing into life.
The wolf leader growled, "Have you gone mad human? Us? Fall into submission to a lowly human?! All of you shred him to pieces!!!" The pack Leader let a howl and his pack obeyed.
Ten wolfs charged at Madara.
"[Lighting Style - Lighting Needles]"
A low voice was heard coming from the man as hundreds of lightning needles came out of it and pierced through the wolfs; making them drop to the ground dead with soft grunts; just like puppets who had their stings cut. The body beneath was charred black and gave off a vile stench.
"I told you. There is no running from this. You should have just listened.
The leader growled in annoyance before speaking; "You arrogant human! We shall tear you to pieces.
"All bark and no biting." Madara taunted with smirk.
The pack leader had had enough. He carged himself.
Opening his jaw, he gathered Magicules and fired off a fire ball at Madara.
Madara simply used his forearm and deflected the blast away into the forest.
He then used his [Quick Step] ability to instantly transport behind the pack leader switching place with a small pebble. Gathering [Chakra] into his fist, and in an instant, his punch pulverized the head of the pack leader. A "paan" sound is heard as bits and pieces of the head flew everywhere, and the pack leader body collapsed.
"It seems I put too much power behind it.
The faces of the wolfs twisted in astonishment. Madara took the opportunity to hammer his fist into the chins of the two who were behind the Alpha. The jaws of the two were sent flying. Blood spouted from the eyes, ears, and the remains of their mouths as they sunk onto the ground.
Madara turned around, staring at the remaining Direwolfs as he released massive amounts of aura, so much that it was even cracking and making the ground tremble.
"Submission or death?"
The Direwolfs whimpered in fear as they swallowed their pride and lowered their head to the ground.
"As of today, you are our pack leader. Umm, what shall we call you — 'O Strong One?" Spoke a wolf with a mark of a star in his forehead.
"Madara, Madara Uchiha.
End of Chapter 4.
