Punch the Exam with Heroic Flying Colors
"Okay, the practical exam should start any minute now." Toshinori looked at his watch.
"The children are the one taking the test and yet you're looking nervous." A short man said walking up to Toshinori.
"Well, that's because young Izuku is taking the exam I hope everything we put him through will be enough, Principal Nezu." Toshinori mentioned.
Nezu is a stout man who appears to be a possible combination of several different animals, including a dog, a mouse, and a bear, which would make him a chimera. He has the head of a mouse with circular black eyes, a large scar over the right one, relatively rectangular-shaped ears with pale pink insides slanting outwards from the top of his head, and an elongated muzzle with a small round nose. His fur is white and has large, dog-like paws with pink pads and a thin tail like that of a cat. He sports a white dress shirt, a dark red tie around his neck, a black double-breasted waistcoat and matching dress pants. He wears orange lace-up sneakers with incredibly thick soles which seem to be quite large on him, very similar to the ones usually worn by Izuku Midoriya.
"Yes, the successor you chose to inherit One for All with the strongest heart of a hero. I'm looking forward to see how he will do with the training you and his family helped him with." Nezu interested.
"Yeah, Yuuko and Sayo have really helped a lot because of how they felt when Izuku was declared Quirkless years ago, and now they just have to wait for the results." Toshinori recalled of how hard the training was.
"A strong drive to become the best not for himself, but for others. That is one of the most important quality of being a hero, something everyone will learn the hard once they enter this school." Nezu stated.
"Now come, the other teachers are probably waiting in the monitoring room right now." Nezu said as he and Toshinori walks together.
(With Izuku)
"Take this!" Izuku yelled as he smashes one robot with a served arm he managed to get and use it against that robot, piercing it through the body.
"Okay, that should be about 9 points." Izuku panted counting the points he gained through his head.
"Man, these robots sure are tough to beat and hard to find in this fake city. This is why mom said passing this exam is hard not just for fighting the robots, you also have to be careful with your surroundings as one of these could pop up at any moment." Izuku remembered Yuuka explaining how this exam was hard for her when she took it.
Izuku looks around believing there aren't any more robots in this block and quickly run in one direction hoping to find more robots there.
"I need to keep running and find my villain robots, the best thing I can do is just run in any place." Izuku said as that is his only plan.
He heard some crashing and crushing noises nearby and decided to check it up really quick to see how the other candidates are doing, he turns to the right seeing Ochaco using her Quirk on two robots floating them in the air.
"Release" Ochaco pressed her fingers together and the two robots fell, crashing on the ground.
"Wow, her gravity Quirk sure is amazing." Izuku admired.
"Okay, that should be 28 points." Ochaco said before running off.
"Wait, did she just say 28? So much already?" Izuku shocked.
Then Izuku saw the guy with the glasses and serious about the rules have just defeated a robot with a single dive kick.
"That puts me at 45." He counted his points.
"He got more than Ochaco!" Izuku shocked more.
Then he looks around a little noticing more and more candidates have beaten more robots and farming up more points, and more villain robots are getting destroyed by the minutes or seconds as Izuku starts to worry.
"(Damn it, if things keep going at this rate then they're might not be anymore villains left for me and I might not get enough points to pass!)" Izuku thought panicked a little, then he smacked himself on the cheeks.
"No, I can't let myself be distracted by something like worrying. I have trained for the past ten months with my family and All Might, I will pass this exam and I will get into UA, I will!" Izuku strongly determined and ran again.
Izuku run as fast as he can to find more robots to defeat and more points to earn, but just when he found another robot to take down there is a girl on the ground probably got knocked down by the robot. Izuku rushes to aid the girl and kick the robot down and stomped the neck with his foot then rip the head off though he fell on his butt as a result.
"Okay, that was a little embarrassing." Izuku said before remembering about the girl.
"Hey, are you okay? You're not hurt anywhere?" Izuku asked a little worry and offer his hand to the orange-hair girl.
"Yeah, I'm okay. That robot only tripped me." The orange hair girl answered as she took Izuku's hand and get back up.
"That's good to hear. I better go now, bye!" Izuku ran again.
"See ya! When he beat that robot, he was more concern for my well-being than the exams we're in. I hope to see him in UA." The orange hair girl smiled.
(With Nezu and the Staff)
"Clearly, the candidates have no idea of how many villains are present or their locations. They have limited time, must cover a vast area, and hunt down every last target." Nezu pointed out as he and the other heroes present are watching the candidates.
"Some use information-gathering abilities to plan out strategies while others rely on speed to pull ahead of their peers. Of course, remaining calm under pressure can be a huge advantage, as can pure power and combat ability." Nezu added.
"The most successful students use a combination of all these tactics they're the ones who rack up the highest scores." Nezu said as well.
"Hmm, I'd say this year's group looks promising." A female hero complimented and licks her tongue.
"Well, there's still plenty of time before it's over. The real test has yet to come." A male hero smirked under his mask.
"Now, let see how they react?" Toshinori pressed a red button.
"By the way, is that boy Yuuko's son?" The female hero asked pointed at the screen with Izuku still running.
"Indeed." Nezu answered simply.
"Knew it! I wonder how the son will fair in this test like the mother." The female hero excited.
"That's what we're about to find out." A male hero with a deep voice said.
(Back with Izuku)
Izuku pants a little heavy as he stops running for a few second break.
"Damn it, the robot I fought saving that girl was one point and I only got ten points right now. I need to and find more before" Izuku's sentence was cut off when he felt the ground shaking under his feet.
A loud rumbling sound was heard in one direction and everyone turns as they face went pale and scared seeing a giant robot taller than some buildings looking down at the candidates, Izuku gasp upon seeing the robot and remember something back at the candidates gathering what Present Mic said about the fourth enemy robot.
(Flashback)
"Think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid. I recommend my listeners try to ignore it and focus on the ones topping the charts." Present Mic advised.
(Flashback End)
"(Isn't this a little extreme?!)" Izuku mentally squealed in fear.
The giant Zero-pointer threw a punch to the ground sending a shockwave the candidates as Izuku fell on his bottom and stare at the robot shaking in fear as the other students start running for their life.
"Now, things will get interesting. A person's true character is revealed when they're faced with danger." Toshinori said.
Izuku tries to run away so he can go fund smaller villains and get more points, but he is having a hard time to move while panicking at the same time.
"Less than two minutes remaining!" Present Mic announced.
"What?! Two minutes?!" Izuku gasped.
"(No, no, no, no! I can't let it end like this!)" Izuku thought freaked out.
"(All that training with All Might. With mom and Sayo, it'll be wasted!)" Izuku refused to let it go out like this.
"Ow!"
Izuku pause and turns around, seeing Ochaco on the ground with her right foot stuck under a piece of the debris and struggle to get up.
Izuku felt his heart racing and his body tensing up from seeing one of the first real friends he made during his training and always thought of Ochaco as a really nice girl, and she was about to crush by the Zero-pointer. There was only one thing to do.
Izuku's body moved like before with the sludge villain and ran forward at the giant robot and this time he knew he had to try saving Ochaco.
"There are no combat points rewarded for taking on the humongous villain, but there is… opportunity. A chance to shine." Toshinori said.
Izuku unconsciously channel the power of One for All into his legs and leaps straight up at the Zero-pointer's face, Ochaco gasp upon seeing Izuku going to face the giant robot all by himself.
"To show what you're really made of." Toshinori smirked as he and the other teacher-heroes look to Izuku about to do something amazing.
Izuku clutches his right fist and reel his arm back to be ready to throw that first punch of power while remembering the words All Might told him yesterday.
"(So, clench your butt cheeks kids. And yell this from the depths of your heart.)" Izuku remembered.
"SMASH" Izuku threw the punch at the Zero-pointer and cause a big dent on the face making the robot to move backward with explosions happening on its inside.
Ochaco, the guy with glasses, and all the other candidates who saw this all shock of seeing this kid have single-handedly defeated a giant robot with just one punch.
"That's right. Show them who you are, embody what it means to be a hero. Nothing is nobler than self-sacrifice." Toshinori smiled as the other teachers are impress.
Izuku is now seen in the air with his right arm bruised up and purplish color though he doesn't realize this when he is remembering the sludge villain incident and his body moved on its own.
"Just one-minute left!" Present Mic shouted.
Izuku snaps out of his deep thought of victory and now starts falling toward the ground.
"(Okay, I used One for All to jump then maybe I can use it to land like All Might. Landing should be easy, right?)" Izuku thought while try to move his legs, but he could feel them and turns noticing both his legs and his right broken in bad condition.
"(I'm broken!)" Izuku thought realized.
Izuku hold onto his broken right arm while trying to think of something fast and then he remembers something his mom told him this morning before they left the house.
(Flashback)
"Izuku, you should hear this warning." Yuuko said just as she and Izuku are outside the house.
"We may have helped prepare your body to be a proper vessel for One for All, but you still won't be able to handle the full power of your Quirk. So, be careful once you feel the physical backlash from the power because when first Toshinori did it, it was very intense. Think carefully of how and when you should use that power." Yuuko advised.
(Flashback End)
"(Damn it, mom warned me, and I totally forgot! I got ahead of myself with that giant villain!)" Izuku thought cried from the pain.
"(I'm acting like a pro… when I don't have enough skills to be a sidekick, I should have thought this through!)" Izuku mentally panicked as he sees the ground getting closer to him by the seconds.
"(Think, think, think, there's got to be something I can do to save myself from this fall.)" Izuku thought and the image of All Might doing a Detroit Smash.
But Izuku also realizes that using the power again on his left arm will be the same with what happened to his right arm and both legs, and he won't be in any other condition to continue on with the exam consider what little time he has left.
Just when Izuku was about to make a risky move of using One for All again, Ochaco appears with a slap on the face making him float while she is riding on a floating piece of a villain robot.
"R-Release" Ochaco undo her Quirk allowing Izuku and the robot piece to fall on the ground safely, and then she vomited as the drawback of using her Quirk too much.
"(Ochaco saved me with her Quirk. She doesn't look injured either, that's a relief.)" Izuku thought smiled that Ochaco is okay.
"TIME'S UP!" Present Mic announced the end of the practical exam.
"Aw man, I only have ten points and the exam is over now. Damn it." Izuku silently cursed himself.
Meanwhile, the other candidates thought Izuku was stupid thinking to take on a giant robot that was worth zero points though some also admitted that it was amazing of how strong he was with that move.
However, the young man with the glasses thought of differently than the rest.
"(They're all missing the point. Don't they see what he did?)" The glasses boy thought turned to Ochaco. If you look closely at the arms of his glasses, the words said "Tenya Iida" is on it.
"(He sacrificed everything just to save that girl. He must have known how little time was left and how many points he needed to pass, that he was putting his life on the line.)" Tenya recalled the frightened look on Izuku's face earlier when the Zero-pointer appeared.
"(But despite those concerns, he didn't hesitate to jump. If this hadn't been an exam… then of course, I would have done the same thing!)" Tenya frustrated.
Then Tenya thought about the exams and the judges who were watching everything from start to finish.
"Well done, you did a good job. You're in my eyes, every one of you. Here, reward yourselves." An old lady walked up to the candidates and handed some gummies.
"That mademoiselle, she's the heart of UA." A blonde guy with a French accent.
"No way, it's you! My mom told me about you! The Youthful Heroine, Recovery Girl!" Izuku gasped upon seeing the old lady knowing who she is.
Recovery Girl is a short, elderly woman with gray hair styled into a netted bun, a large syringe poking diagonally out of it to the left. She has a notably small nose and eyes which are usually drawn as two little dashes, and a long mouth with defined nasolabial folds. She wears a doctor's lab coat and a dress with yellow and red vest-like designs on either side, two yellow buttons, and a belt with a pink "R"-shaped buckle. She wears pink boots and has a helmet around the sides of her head, a purple-tinted visor joining it over her eyes. In addition, she walks with a cane designed like a syringe that she can also use for healing the injured.
"I see my former student, Yuuko has raised a strong child after Sayo." Recovery Girl chuckled.
"But I must say, I didn't expect to meet a young fellow who gets hurt by his own Quirk, sonny." Recovery Girl looked at Izuku's broken arm and legs.
"Well, huh, I'm a late bloomer and I only had ten months of training." Izuku said nervously.
"Yes, Yuuko told me about your training and how Toshinori chose you as well." Recovery Girl mentioned All Might's real name with a wink.
Izuku gasp that he just found out that Recovery Girl knows about All Might and One for All, then her lips stretch far kissing Izuku on the head.
"That's a little gross." Izuku said before he felt his body starting to rapidly heal, saving him months of recovery.
"Wow, that feels great, but I feel super tired now." Izuku said exhausted.
"That's just the side effect of my Quirk, use too much of it and then you die." Recovery Girl explained.
"Wait, this could kill me!" Izuku gasped.
"If you are able to walk then you can leave." Recovery Girl said as she went to check on the other teens.
"(Mom, Sayo, All Might, I'm sorry.)" Izuku thought cried a bit.

Izuku managed to survive the practical exam and first using One for All in the first punch too, but he believes he had fail the test which isn't entirely true as he will get a very special surprise when the result letter comes in.
