Zelda's POV

Two days later, we arrived at the castle.

Link and Impa joined me in meeting with my father to discuss our progress.

It didn't go as planned.

My father took it all in but acted as if it wasn't his own daughter, but some other girl he was sending.

When we left the sanctum, the others wanted to know how it went. But I just shook my head.

I momentarily dismissed Link and made my way to my room, Impa and the little guardian following behind.

I didn't want to talk about the meeting, but my aid had other plans.

"His Majesty did not offer even a single word of praise." Impa protested. I kept walking, my head low.

"Well… it's only natural that Father would be frustrated." I said dejectedly.

"But, your highness…" Impa tried. I turned to face her.

"Right now, we must do whatever is in our power." I said quietly. "Please inform Mipha and Daruk that we depart tomorrow morning."

"Then you plan to go to the Divine Beasts?" Impa guessed. "Understood."

Impa turned and walked away, leaving me with just the little Guardian.

The guardian whistled and beeped as he scuttled in front of me.

"Oh my…" I said in surprise.

The guardian whistled at me as I knelt in front of it.

"Father thinks that… He thinks that the reason my ability hasn't awakened is because I haven't worked hard enough." I vented. "I imagine that when I visit the Divine Beats, he'll say as much."

The guardian whistled again to signal Link's appearance.

"Link, you-" I was surprised. I would've imagined that he would be with his friends or resting.

My knight stayed as emotionless as usual. When I looked down I missed the look of sympathy in his eyes.

I looked down at the guardian who wa a whistling as he looked between Link and I. He seemed to recognize something we didn't.
