Revali's POV

As we cut our way through the monsters, I can't help but say… these heroes were good at their job.

Twilight and Time fought like a well-oiled machine.

Mipha and I tried to catch up as they worked like a tag-team.

They darted around monsters and let the other play to their strengths.

Twilight was the strongest of the eight heroes and held monsters still by pushing against their weapon with his. While he was doing that, Time would stab the monster in the back.

For the stals, they fought with the same sense, but instead of stabbing their backs, Time slashed at their skulls.

I still don't understand how Mipha could control water but she was good at it.

She would heal herself and us when she went in for a fatal strike.

I, however, took the high ground. I flew around and shot beasts down before the overwhelmed the others.

I wasn't the best at fighting on the ground, plus I didn't have a sword or spear.

But I took pride in helping the others in this way.

I would never say this out loud but… on the battlefield we were all equals. As long as we were on the same side that is.

Eventually, we made our way to a clearing.

I was surprised when Twilight looked up almost on instinct with his sword ready.

"Pup." Time nudged Twilight and got him to look at the Malice cloud that was swirling on the other side of the clearing.

The malice swirled and shifted as it gained a physical form.

A form that seemed strangely familiar…

The Malice formed a identical copy of Daruk, compete with his Boulder Breaker and everything.

Twilight ran over to the side.

I bit back a retort when I thought he was running away.

But I saw he was preparing for something.

Had to keep not-Daruk busy until then.

I trusted Twilight even though he seemed a little too like Link, I knew I could trust him with my darkest secret and no other soul would learn of it.

"Hey!" Twilight yelled after a few minutes. "Doppelgänger!"

The hallow turned to face Twilight.

The rest of us did too, and the battle was momentarily forgotten.

Twilight was wearing weird boots that seemed to be made of metal and wore thick gloves that covered his hands and upper arm.

"Come at me!"

'Daruk' curled into a ball and sped toward the hero.

We watched in shock as Twilight caught the Goron (even though it's fake) and practically threw him back at up.

"Batter up!" He shouted.

The malice-form was immediately assaulted with arrows before landing on a sword and spear.

Since it was made of malice, the monster was softer than a normal Goron who might actually be made of rock.

"Well, that was easier than I thought it was going to be." Time said, lifting his sword in a way so he could see the malice glistening in the moonlight. (Or sunlight? It's so hard to tell)

Twilight jogged up to us, his metal boots were gone and I saw his gloves laying on the ground.

They look as if they had been just about burnt straight through from direct contact with malice for that long.

"Twilight?" Mipha said hesitantly. Twilight looked at her. "If I may ask, why were you so tense when we first entered the clearing? And how did you catch that Goron hallow?"

Twilight took a minute to think before he answered. "I was so on edge because on my quest, Shadow Beasts would occasionally fall from the sky in clearings such as this. And I used my iron boots to make me heavier so I could throw it. It happened a lot more on my quest than you would think."

Twilight laughed at our expressions when he was done.

Time just shook his head with a fond smile.

"Maybe we should head back to the entrance to Korok Forest." The oldest person here said. "I have a feeling that that cleared up some of the malice."

I nodded with the others.

We turned back around and started to make our way back through the woods and monsters.
