"Actually, yes," you reply. "There are a lot of situations where high-speed movement would be just as handy as teleportation."
And probably less expensive, too - warping the fabric of space and time is not exactly an easy process, and doing it without catastrophic side-effects for the subject of the teleportation is even trickier. Not to mention that you already know a magical method for speeding yourself up, a ki technique that achieves the same effect, and a combination technique that goes even further. Whatever it is that the ninja-girls do, it almost has to be related to at least one of those techniques, so it should be comparatively simple for you to learn.
"Alright, then," Ayane says, nodding in satisfaction. "We'll talk about that again after I've had a chance to get permission from Master Genra. Not that I think he'll object to the exchange," she adds, smiling. "As far as I know, he can't turn into a giant, either."
"At least, not yet," Kasumi says. "How much would you like to wager that he's been trying to think up a way to do exactly that since he saw Alex's fight?"
"Sucker bet," Ayane proclaims bluntly.
Kasumi giggles.
As it happens, none of the other girls appear to be interested in learning how to turn into a giant. You suspect that Kasumi and Taki will just get the knowledge out of Ayane, and you know that Cordelia doesn't have the magical talent necessary. Tifa's a blank in that regard, and even if she'd been paying attention to your conversation enough to declare an interest in the spell, you suspect that the seal on Tatsuki would hinder her attempts to perform the spell. That's assuming she has the potential for magic, something you're not sure about one way or the other - you didn't notice any hints of the talent when you scanned her before, but then again, the seal could easily be suppressing it. Kahlua and Altria also fail to state any interest in the spell, which is probably just as well, as the idea of either of them super-sized and aura-empowered as you were is more than a little alarming.
Ichigo states a definite interest - saying something about an "Ultraman?" - and is rather dismayed when you tell him he doesn't have the magical ability necessary to learn the spell. Or any other spell, at least not without an incredible amount of work.
His parents don't seem too upset about that.
As the conversation moves on once again, you notice that the cafeteria crowd is starting to thin out, with a disproportionate drop in the number of kids in the ten-to-fourteen age range. Checking the nearest clock, you see that it's about ten minutes until the Under Fourteens Division Finals' scheduled start. The two older ninja-boys haven't left yet, something that you simply take to mean they're in the Under Eighteens Division - because if they've been trained anywhere near as well as Ayane, Kasumi, and Taki, there's no way they didn't make it to the finals. The Shuzens don't seem in any great hurry to leave either, which could be a little problematic, as you already have two groups of people you'd agreed to talk to. One would assume they'd both prefer those conversations to be private. On the other hand, you've also got three different groups of adults (and a cat) who know a few things about rather disparate corners of the supernatural world; it's possible one of them might know something that could help one of the others. Then there's the question of whether or not to ask Altria and the wizard Ambrose to hang around for one, the other, or both of these discussions - the blonde IS quite likely to be the subject of one meeting, and her companion's magical knowledge could be helpful in resolving the other set of issues. This isn't even getting into whether or not you should ask Lu-sensei and Cordelia to hang around.
