Mordred's Fathers
What in fresh Annwn is this?
Mordred did not know what she was looking at, however she was certain it was not too normal. Even by the norm of the warped reality which was afforded to her by both the Chaldea and the Throne of Heroes.
The King of Knight was present. Too present. There was not one Artoria, but a multitude of them in spades. A Circus of King Arthurs.
The one who she knew—her King of Knights—was a drop in the bucket.
So many among the vast aberrant sea of Heroic Spirits which was Chaldea.
The vast majority being Sabers like herself. A Caster was the more rarity among them, as well as one Rider.
Master Hal had informed her of there being different incarnations to her sirer, but hearing and seeing her were two dissimilar experiences altogether.
Saber Lily was the first to notice the Knight of Betrayal's presence.
Seeing the younger, more decidedly pure, incarnation of her father approach, Mordred felt as though she could see a lance lunging toward her for a second occasion. Paling her face. Giving her ample cause to step backward with her eyes still forward—only for her back to collide with a person.
"Mordred…?"
Glancing frantically, she came to find it was her master, Hal, in the company of Mash.
"What's wrong, you look like you've literally seen a ghost."
"I—I just—I'm—"
She stammered to the point of gibbering, her state of mind was so deprived of clarity. Mash was as confused as her senpai but they both seemed to garner a general idea once they saw Artoria Lily.
Smiling, the magus rested his hands on the Saber's shoulders.
The infamous knight returned her gaze to the Lily saber.
"Mordred…?" Saber Lily's face tilted with perplexity. The innocence of her countenance all the more present. Stepping closer. Causing Mordred to press herself more against Hal, causing him to stagger back a step.
"Calm, Mordred." Mash said, resting s hand on the Knight of Betrayal's shoulder with a reassuring smile. "Nothing will happen. We promise. Regardless of what you are thinking."
That was small comfort to the knight.
"Hello, Mordred." Saber Lily said, now close. Smiling so warmly its radiance belonged to the sun. Holding out her arms.
Before she realized what was happening, Mordred found herself being hugged.
She was blind-sided.
Her cheeks blushed. Mordred had, in that moment, her 'father' hugging her.
Proto Arthur soon noticed them. "Hello, Mordred. I've been looking forward to meeting you" Patting her head.
If they were playing a game with her, Mordred lost.
