As Shiden helps his wife up, Kasumi hops off the bench and turns to you and Altria. "Would you two like to come watch Hayate's match with us?"

"I appreciate the invitation, Kasumi," you reply, "but I think I'll have to turn it down. I need to check in with the rest of my group before Briar runs out of patience and comes looking for me. To tell the truth, I'm kind of surprised she hasn't done it already."

"I fear I must decline as well," Altria apologizes. "There are several people who might be insulted if I did not make an appearance at the finals." The English girl gathers herself to rise, then pauses as she finds you offering a hand. "Thank you, Alexander," she says, accepting the assistance.

"Not a problem," you reply, pulling her to her feet.

Kasumi, meanwhile, doesn't seem too upset by the dual refusal. "You'll be able to see Big Brother fight tomorrow anyway, so no harm done."

You spend a couple of minutes making the obligatory farewells, before the ninja family head off. It's interesting to watch how they walk; you can see that Kasumi and Hayate are both trained fighters just from how they move, but Shiden is skilled enough that it's his lack of obvious tells that give him away. Ayame is even harder to read, though that might be because she's wearing a kimono, and you've never had the opportunity to observe someone moving in such a garment before.

As the ninjas go one way, you and Altria depart in the other.

"So," you ask after a moment. "What did you think of that meeting?"

"It was... interesting," Altria replies. "Perhaps not as informative as I might have liked, but still worth attending. Thank you for asking me along, by the way."

"You're welcome."

You make the next few steps in a companiable silence, alone in the shadowy corridor.
