Should it really be this dim in the corridor? There was plenty of light in the atrium, thanks to the great glass wall and the expanse of low-lying park beyond it providing a clear path for the radiance of the early afternoon sun, and while you've left that part of the arena behind, the hallways have overhead lights forming an almost solid path along the ceiling. It should be every bit as bright here as it was back on the balcony - you recall it being so when Ayane was leading you to the meeting - so why are the shadows as deep as they are? It's as if the illumination in here has been cut by half - half the sources, each half as bright and reaching only half as far. The shadows are not so thick as to be a hindrance, but they're far too heavy to be natural.

"Alexander?" Altria asks. "What is it?"

You'd kind of like to know the answer to that yourself. You can't tell just from looking at it what might be causing the light to falter this way, and you don't feel as if you're being watched or threatened - at least, not directly. Then again, you've not tried to probe the shadows or this area with your more exotic capabilities.
