After some thought and investigation, you decide that the first reagent you want to collect is something relatively valuable of the Spirit element. The image of an ofuda prepared by a shrine priest of genuine power keeps coming to mind - not a generic charm for good luck, but something more potent and specific, meant for purification and the warding off of evil. Such an item will be helpful when it comes to the part of the ritual where you purge the Hellmouth's influence in your existing, flawed bond with Briar. You also decide to leave the acquisition of the item until tomorrow after the finals, when you've had a chance to eat a couple meals, rest, and uphold your promise to exchange techniques with Ayane.

That being said, you do take some time to call up an online map of Tokyo that highlights the nearest shrines and temples, and then investigate the history and reputation of these sites. You have serious doubts that you'll find proof of a master spiritualist online, even in Japan, but you can at least figure out a travel itinerary. And maybe you could ask the ninja girls for advice about which shrines to visit, when you see them tomorrow?

Gained Map

Cordelia has finally emerged from the bathroom, wrapped up in a complimentary robe and with a towel wound about her head. She looks a bit ruddy-skinned and prune-fingered, but more relaxed than she was when she went in.

"What are you up to?" she asks as she walks past.

"Putting together a list of places to visit over the next couple of days, around the tournament," you reply. "There's a ritual spell I want to try, and I need materials."

"Eye of newt, wing of bat, and all that?"

"More like prayer strips, holy water, and incense candles," you reply, carefully not mentioning the nastier stuff like ghost slime or crematorial ash.

"This isn't going to be one of those things where you sit around contemplating your belly button and going 'oohhmm' all day, is it?"

"Nah. The actual ritual shouldn't take more than an hour, tops. Finding all the stuff I need for it is probably going to keep me busy for the rest of the trip, though."

"Any way I can help?" Cordelia offers.

You pause. It's rather unusual for Cordy to offer to help people - if she deems them worthy of her aid in the first place, they generally get it whether they ask for it or not.
