Although you've decided to take reasonable precautions against further offending Beryl, there are limits as to just how far you're willing to inconvenience yourself in the process. Missing an opportunity to learn new techniques from a fighter who seems to think she can handle Beryl in a fight falls on the far side of those limits. With that in mind, you cast a divination spell focused solely on Beryl's opponent, reflecting that if Beryl is mage enough to sense it, she darn well ought to be able to realize it isn't aimed at her - and if she decides to take offense anyway, well, nuts to her. The spell quickly confirms that the girl in red has mana, which has a heavy presence in the necromantic range of the magical spectrum - specifically, the sub-layer that deals with souls - and an almost equal amounts of augmentation and enchantment. Other schools' energies are present in minor levels at best, and the patterns you can see in her aura aren't as developed as you'd expect from a trained spellcaster. They're similar to what you saw in Ayane and Kasumi, though, suggesting that like the ninja-girls, this person has been able to harness her magical potential and make it work alongside her physical skills as a fighter. That could be interesting.
Careful to keep Beryl in the corner of your vision, you bring up your ki sight, to take a look at the other side of the girl's energies.
You promptly wince.
Physically, the girl in red stands about five-foot-eight, and has the sort of build that can manage speed and power in about equal measure. Aside from their reinforced knuckles, her gloves are quite long and solid-looking, covering most of her forearms and featuring a sort of brace along the outer edge - they can probably do double-duty as very light armor. Her boots are of similar design, incorporating tall shin guards that almost completely conceal her legs below the knee, at least when viewed from the front. Beyond these and her distinctive dark red leotard, the only garment she wears is a red service cap, with a small winged skull insignia above the brim. Her face would be rather lovely, pale eyes and all, except that the confidence you saw in her stride is reflected and magnified there in the form of a decidedly unattractive smug smirk.
Mystically, the girl is surrounded by an aura of alarming size. It's not as massive as Ichigo's was, but it has the "weight" of physical energy that the boy's purely spiritual essence was lacking, as well as the restrained form that speaks of considerable control - something else young Kurosaki didn't have. It's also a dark blue that verges on black, but for the jagged, almost electrical discharges that periodically crawl along its surface or surge through its interior. The girl's confidence is visible here, as well, but it's not so much "confidence" as it is ruthless ambition, an utter dedication to some unknown goal paired with the willingness to do anything - absolutely anything - necessary to achieve it. You're also getting brief flickers of something above and around the girl, a shape that won't quite come into focus.
You're quite glad of that last part, as it's a sign that your control over your aura sight is improving, and that you're one step closer to making those unwanted, mind-scarring accidental visions a thing of the past. In this case, though, you can't claim full responsibility for the minor win - the girl's control over the dark power of her soul is clearly a contributing factor. You have to wonder what will happen once the fight begins and she starts throwing that aura around.
"Ladies and gentlemen," the Announcer says, "for the final match of the second round, we have Beryl versus Lyra. Are you ready, ladies?"
Beryl's eyes have been fixed on her opponent since the moment they entered the ring. They don't come away now, as she nods wordlessly in response to the question.
"Of course!" Lyra replies enthusiastically, as she settles into a stance. "You will try to make this entertaining, won't you, dear?" she adds to Beryl.
The redhead scowls and twirls her staff until it's pointed at her opponent. "I am not your 'dear.'"
The Announcer raises one hand. "Ready..."
Do you wish to keep observing Lyra using ki sight, even with the potential for another vision?
