You can see several good reasons for staying put. You did tell Akasha that you'd try to stay out of trouble, after all, and the less you go wandering about in the halls, the less likely it is that you'll have to break that promise. Staying would also give you some fairly powerful, relatively friendly company - a good deterrent against any more trouble that might come looking for you, and one which isn't currently available where you were sitting before. And of course, it'll make Kahlua happy if you stay. The only real downsides you can see to staying are that it'll be a little more energy-intensive to observe the fights, Kokoa and Cordelia will likely both be irritated, and there might be female bickering as a result. You can easily afford the ki expense, and you're not about to let yourself be intimidated by a sulky little girl a third your size, even if she is superhumanly strong. As for the rest of it...
"I vote we stay," you tell Cordelia. "And before you say anything," you add, quickly raising a hand, "let me ask you this: do you really want to run the risk of having to deal with another of my random encounters? Because you know it'd happen - it's too cliche not to."
"Glad to see we're on the same page, then," the brunette replies with a sharp smile, before walking past you and taking the seat two spots over from Kahlua.
You blink. That seemed a little too easy...
"Oh, and for the record," Cordy adds, "if you'd tried to leave, Sensei asked Briar to put you to sleep until he got back."
Blinking again, you turn to your fairy companion with a look of betrayal. "Briar?"
"Your track record sucks, Alex," she responds in a frank tone.
"It's not that bad," you defend yourself as you sit down next to Kahlua.
"No, it really is," Briar and Cordelia say together.
You turn, entreatingly, to the blonde on your left. "You believe me, don't you, Kahlua?"
She smiles radiantly. "I'm sorry, Alex, but the evidence is against you."
Your face falls.
"Indeed," Moka observes. "Your own account shows a distinct inability to stay out of trouble."
"Et tu, Moka?" you mumble half-heartedly.
"But don't worry, Big Brother," Kokoa says, her tone robbing the honorific of all respect. "We'll protect you from the nasty ninja."
Yes, but who's going to protect me from you? you think but don't say aloud. Kahlua seems to guess the direction of your thoughts anyway, because she pats you reassuringly on the arm and makes soothing noises not unlike those you've used on Moblin when he's out of sorts.
You miss your dog. His loyalty, his obedience, his lack of snarky comments... his being male... yeah, you really miss Moblin right about now.
Anyway, while the Announcer has yet to declare the start of the next round, the remaining fighters are going through their personal warm-ups down in the waiting area, so it can't be too much longer. How do you intend to observe these matches?
